Ch.4
Ch.4 Flesh Deli.
Navarro never could understand how Gwen always found him. He wondered if someone had planted a tracking device inside his liver or something in the last year or so. He was really regretting having come to Jolene’s hotel room She’d been clean cut and sexily dressed for brutal conversation. The bathroom door had been closed tightly and everything smelled of bleach he didn’t like this at all and everything seemed out of place. A heavy breathe filled his lungs and he thought he might start trembling, she hadn’t said anything more to him since he’d come there tasting her words inside his mouth he coughed quietly and she gave him a poised glare. Which shut him up quite abruptly. The air around them seemed electrically charged and he fidgeted in place. She paused in place like a graceless dancer and sauntered into the bathroom shutting the door behind her with a startling click. As soon as he could swear she was talking to another woman he dashed up towards the phone that lay comfortably on a night stand table next to a tacky little golden lamp. Calling Ace’s cell he watched the door inwardly cringing at his change in status he’d succeed in hardly anything these past weeks trying to get Jolene to open up to him possibly explain what she had in store for those at home maybe. But nothing had worked, nothing at all he’d gotten diced up comfort on a plate but it was served terribly cold and he realized if anything he felt worse then before. When Ace picked up he seemed so excited to hear from him Navarro had to be mimetically cruel and whisper to him harshly the address of the hotel and room number and that he really, really needed him to come pick him up in an hour if he wasn’t home those 60min. Ace only murmured a reply before becoming totally puzzled and hanging up. Of course he’d pick him up he only hoped Navarro hadn’t dug himself under. Twitch stared at him worriedly “I don’t like the sound of this and Ian’s not home yet Ace go right now to the hotel and get him I’ll go with you because I have a feeling I know who’s been visiting.” Ace’s face paled “You can’t be serious “ Twitch nodded “She’ll skin him alive Ace so I suggest you move now I’ll be on my way no worries little one.” Ace pushed himself out of the big metal door before he knew it he was running as fast as he could until his throat burned and his eye’s watered.
Navarro cleared his throat he knew who was in that bathroom talking to Jolene. He prayed she wasn’t’ turning the story around and preparing to slap him senseless. Crap this was lame why was he always doing this to himself? He could leave right now and yet he stayed, feet planted to the floor but not for long because when the door opened Navarro yelped and side stepped away from the dresser just a tad. Jolene was first and she held in her hand the biggest freaking hypodermic needle he’d ever seen in his life, she calmly tapped the needle tip exiting any air bubbles. Then came Gwen she had sorrowful eye’s of a lost toddler and the fists of an outraged bystander in a multi car pile up during Easter break. She gave him somewhat harsh icy stares. Leaning on the bed side he bite his lip “You girls must be down right pissed with me but Gwen your on my side right you wouldn’t dare let her stick me with that freaking elephant dart…would you?” Gwen merely stared harder speaking not a word to him going as far as to cross her arms even. Jolene stood calm as you please watching the little nightmare unfold “Nav honey you shouldn’t have come at all and trying to pry into my personal business that just made it worse for you.” His head pulled back in mock horror “What happens to me when and if you get hold of me with that ugly needle?” She smiled coarsely “You’ll be as sick as a neutered puppy on X-mas day.” He frowned “But I already hate that holiday” Whatever trace of a smile she carried on her face now died away fully “Shut up Nav you annoy me and now to tell the truth I wanted nothing to do with you brats at all I figured my daughter was better off not knowing me but we had a nice heartfelt talk and we still don’t understand one another but hey at least we tried. Gwen’s a sweet kid her daddy’s doing a bang up job.” Licking his teeth he said “So why stab me like a pin cushion I could always swear I never saw you and brainwash myself with cheap cartoons all night.” She shrugged “Why not stab you honey I’m the one who’s nuts here remember.” Gwen seemed suddenly uncomfortable after a moment specially when he latched onto a lamp and flung it at her mother head. Jolene screamed when it clipped her nose and Navarro hoped he broke it. Dashing across the bed he struggled to get out the door but Jolene was faster without a moments haste. She pinned him against the door catching his hand behind his back and crushing his fingers in the enclosed space left behind when she pressed him against the door. He screamed now and tried in vain to wrench his body free. Jolene simply sneered at him leaning in close to his mouth “Does the prisoner have any last requests before we do the lethal injection, famous last words perhaps or a kiss maybe a hug. You know something easy I don’t have a whole lot of time tonight.” He shut his eye’s a moment and felt tears streak down his face making his always perfect make up smear. His bangs in his eye’s he gasped for air feeling her elbowing his rib cage ever so slowly. “How about a kiss.” he said tightly. She seemed pleased with the choice “Really what do you imagine it’ll be like?” He forced himself to smile “Like kissing my mother.” Her eye’s narrowed now pressing the door more snuggling against his fingers it made him whimper softly. Sucking on her lower lip she leaned in ever so gently pressing her lips to his own, he imagined she was thinking of his father so he did what only his father would have done in this situation. She suddenly screeched something awful as he bit down with all his jaw strength into her lower lip he knew he’d bit clean through and he held on for dear life until she plunged that damn needle into his lower belly near the top of his hip bone, he stomped a foot down because he refused to led go and she was yanking the damn metal tip as far in as it would allow her to go tearing his insides and doing god knows what else. He was sure all the fingers on his left hand were now broken but everything came to a halt. Gwen had picked up the discarded lamp and swung it by it’s base like a bat straight into her head knocking her clean over and into the wall. She rushed up to Navarro and pulled him around he was crying openly now and looked down at his body the needle had broken off at the tip which connected into the plunger. Gwen stared at it mortified and pulled him to the bed grabbing all the bath towels and tearing his shirt he had snot running down his face and blood all over his stomach and chest. Without warning him she yanked it out the needle causing mute wails to pile out of his mouth . When she cleaned him up the best she could, she would have to wait to fix his fingers. Wiping his face off she said “Navarro I’m so sorry I didn’t know she’d do any of that she swore she wouldn’t hurt you but when she took out that needle I had to play along. I was scared and I thought you’d get out. Please forgive me I was never mad at you.” He stared at her with clouded eye’s “Gweny… don’t leave me…and I want you to…help me do something when I get better.” She nodded right away “Sure, sure anything you want just tell me what it is” He paused to wait out a wave of pain that washed through his lower body and down towards his toe’s “Help me get her friends the one’s that beat me up the first time around, she’s been helping them move supplies” She looked confused a moment “How do you know that Navarro?” he smiled slightly “It helps having sticky fingers.” She watched him hold up with his good hand a little black agenda style booklet with nothing but numbers inside Here and there were little notes on where she could get and sell heroin. Gwen gasped “You came here knowing she could kill and still you just to try and shut her down?” He nodded “Yeah I was really starting to hate her, I can see why my dad dumped her.” Gwen stared at his face. “What do we do with her?” “Leave her here she’ll be out for awhile the cleaning ladies might find her if she doesn’t skip the hotel first.” Gwen had to pause to take all this in it was all rather mind blowing. She laid down beside him “Your brave Navarro.” He laughed despite the pain it brought on, “No I’m just a lucky screw up who’s incredibly stupid and yet at all the same time too terribly vain for his own good.” Gwen smiled sadly “I doubt we’d have it any other way.” He held her hand now and closed his eye’s he wanted to wake up forever numb.
A month can really do wonders on your health status you’d be surprised you really would. Navarro was, he really had no idea what he’d been thinking going undercover like that. He’d been going in blind as a strangled rat under water. Staring at his reflection in the back bedroom mirror he gently applied a thin amount of lacquer black lipstick his cover up done with honest sleek perfection. Smearing his eye’s with a touch of silver dust he was ready to party, today was the official mark on the calendar of his full recovery from having his stomach invaded by a hypodermic needle. His hand was still raw and stingingly sore inside, the bone’s were healing well enough but he would never have full use of his inner three fingers as he did before but in speaking terms his grip was not weakened. Merely challenged. Gwen had done his hair for him it was placed in adorable ringlet curls framing his angular jaw line. He was like a pile of walking knives sexy yet deadly on all sides. Slipping on his shiny combat boots with endless screaming straps he was ready to go. Ace waited in the drivers seat drumming his lime green nails in a fairly comical fashion. Gwen was wearing a thinly made corset with tiny bubble gum pink bows lining the top of the bodice. On her lower body she was covered to her lower thighs in black velvet. Climbing into Ace’s care they set out for a night on the town. Ace had his hair done in ultra chunky spikes that made angelic horns near his face and around his chin, his face was clean-shaven as Navarro’s, his lips done in a soft peach color.
Why go to a high-class rock star nightclub when you live in one? Why the variety of people of course. The thrill of tricking high priced people into serving as company while dancing to super sonic techno beats mixed with ever popular composers of the 17th century was conviction enough. Navarro secured them 3 tasty drinks by the fifteen-minute mark of having walked over the threshold of the establishment. Navarro’s being a green apple martini that made his lips pucker gently and his throat expand with bliss. He was never one for drinking but on special occasion he could hardly resist. Sitting between Ace and Gwen for a while he pretended they were his crown jewels his little bundle of billion-dollar fortune that could be stashed away instantly in the back of his pants pocket. Curious eye’s followed Navarro as he crossed the dance floor hips swaying and mouth partly open in a yielding sweet defiance to those in his way.
Ace and Gwen sat like perfect sparkling jewels in there particularly retro diner style booth of metallic silver, they looked matching in makeup save for Aces more boyish chic. Everyone here was dolled up to an indulgent shimmer. Navarro smiled looking back at them they looked like nymphs slender and epically placed. You could see Navarro’s hips jutting out beneath his spider web mesh shirt. His vinyl pants hung loose and snuggly to what was left of his exposed pelvic region just short of the under level of his belly button. The apple martini churning serenely inside his belly, he toyed with a stray curl going for that baby cake look, and succeeding exceptionally well. Ace watched openly pleased to be having fun they all needed it after Ian returned home he was still upset over his ex-wife. Softly in a pliable fashion Ace elbowed Gwen in the arm, she turned slowly to meet his gaze “Check out our fearless leader, he’s attracted one of the corporate brats, I’d say that guys…oh 22 just starting out works for an evil company that deals with cyber punks online, and secretly runs the corporate market for S&M products.” Gwen giggled sipping her drink holding it benevolently between two fingers. “Why do you say that Ace?” Acelin smiled once more with a heavenly technique. “Because no one that good looking could do anything less for a living.” Rolling her glittery eye’s she went on “Well let’s hope he’s not a coke user, Nav will have to obliterate his pretty face. Now that’d be a shame.” Ace nodded with concern “I sure hope not Nav needs someone to spoil him with attention after what happened with your mommy he’s been batty Like he’s drowning or something that needle really scared the crap out of him. I hate seeing him all crushed.” She had to agree with this “Well Ace baby we’ll see what happens Nav will probably be a total drama queen and melt the guys poor eye’s ball out.” “or he could be highly homophobic and want to stick him with a stun gun.” She sipped her Shirley Temple with a splash of pristine vodka carefully “Oh Ace shut up already and go get laid your such a ham sometimes.” He was the one who giggled now “I’d prefer to be lemon pepper chicken cooked with a savory white wine sauce…Damn I’m delicious.” Slapping his arm, they both grinned childishly at one another.
Shoulders back and chin placed high he was like expensive champagne golden and bubbling beneath the surface. He expertly tasted his own drink a Caribbean Queen, which by the way was totally out of this world. The taste alone tickled his senses and sliced his tongue down the middle. It was turning out to be an extraordinary evening. Dazzling music to match equally stunning people. It had been ages since he’d been out of his stuffy office and away from his pathetic excuse of an intern or well to be more appropriate his lackey, what was his name again? Oh yes Cleo…what the hell kind of name was Cleo! The guy was positively dreadful, unfortunately he promptly followed him everywhere he went. But tonight he’d sent his dear Cleo on an endless search for something uptown , something he’d surely never find but in any case it would serve the purpose of, giving him a night off none the less. He’d been there since about 6:35pm and he was beginning to notice the pleasant stare of an unknown individual looking him up and down in a casual mannerism noticing first off the young man had an interesting dress style and every now and then he expertly sipped his drink until it was nothing more then a thimble of a swallow. When it came down to this the young man fumbled with the hem of his spider web shirt rubbing thoughtfully at his lower navel with a beautifully fragile hand, he wondered what was wrong with him he seemed so pristine cool on the outside but underneath he was defiantly brimming over with callous worry. Sydney himself was totally shimmering feeling refreshed from being away from everyone familiar and he strangely felt drawn to the young man who looked like a sexy ghost. Skin almost translucent and hair done in curls as fat as coiled fingers framing his face in a beneficially girlish element.
He was glad the young man met his gaze once more by the time he’d finally gotten a hold of the bar tender and order him a Baby face Martini which consisted of strawberry vodka, dry vermouth, maraschino liqueur, and cutely garnished with a slice of strawberry fruit. Navarro had stared at the bartender who bore a killer smile on his face and a free drink in his hand. Taking it gingerly from the man behind the bar he flickered his eye’s towards the area in which the buyer came from. Navarro was new to this whole scene but he placed himself on a high pedestal the moment he walked in. Sydney could tell he was one of a kind totally different from anyone he’d ever met. Sydney could clearly see after a moment he was not the only one watching the slender ghost tip his swan like neck back, downing the pinkish liquid with ease. He was never one to allow others ahead in any sort of game in life and he wasn’t about to let another living soul in this bar save for the people he arrived with get to know the young man before him. Gliding forward he watched Navarro’s hazel green eye’s study the charming smile on his face that only told him ‘hey there want to be my friend I swear I don’t bite’ Sydney had to contain himself when Navarro spoke out loud turning toward the bar and stealing a cherry from the open garnish tray, “Your smile says you don’t bite but you should know my smile means I do and none to kindly at that.” Chewing cruelly at the cherries insides he neatly swallowed and proceed to reapply his lipstick Sydney licked his own dry lips and uncrossed him arms holding out one of his hands “My names Sydney It’s a pleasure to meet you…” “Navarro” he said strictly while stealing another cherry and offering one to Sydney, who took it readily from Navarro’s softly trembling hand his fingertips quivering in the fluttering butterfly kisses of strobe star light. Sucking on the cherry Sydney allowed him to get used to his presence he liked him already he was very clever in his vocabulary use he would later learn. Navarro watched him carefully as they bantered back and forth with conversation he could tell Sydney was a highly intelligent man, if not a totally spoiled brat. His cloths alone made him expensive looking, dressed in designer sand blasted jeans, black suede shoe’s, a silk dress shirt and a pearl white tuxedo tie to pull it all together, giving him the look of pure wealth. He guessed the man carried 4 to 9 different credit cards in the wallet of his back pants pocket, or whatever rottenly designed vehicle he was driving this week. His skin was beginning to itch already and there was no hope of taking any painkillers now. He’d crushed those wishes an hour ago by guzzling all those drinks down, His hand especially was starting to hurt him. He’d over used it as it was by use of introductions and holding drinks. To make it easily understandable Navarro cleared his throat “if you don’t mind Sydney I’m totally smashed and the evenings wearing me paper thin. Do you mind taking me home?” Truth be told Navarro enjoyed his company greatly it had been so long since he’d met genuine company but his words were ever slowly becoming reality and reality sure as hell wasn’t his friend. Sydney touched the small of his back with care “of course and by home do you mean my place or yours? And what about those lovely people you came in with?” Navarro glanced at his table and was silently relived to see them still there talking up a storm with one another, and he quickly caught Aces attention within ten minutes Navarro was laying back surrounded by plush velvet seats and soothing India pop music. It was snappy and crackled against his lips which felt oddly numb from all the alcohol. Sydney had been rather puzzled by Ace’s parting words to them both but thought little of them “if he becomes a problem call this number but most likely he’ll be a perfectly behaved brat.” Driving down the highway Sydney smiled “Do you normally just go home with people you just meet on a whim Navarro?” He heard the young man giggle “only if they drive gorgeous cars such as this and have ultra hip sugar daddy style drivers in them” Sydney rolled his pale gray eye’s he was only 23, but he liked the way Nav talked he was very amusing “Well I don’t know about being a sugar daddy but I must admit I don’t do this often but you fascinate me so I cannot help it.” Navarro’s head swayed ever so slightly as they turned a corner. “Don’t worry Sydney I know your not some freak who mutilates prostitutes or anything your to brutally sweet and far to rich to bother.” Sydney eye’s widened “Your not a whore or anything are you?” Navarro erupted into giggles again “Hell no but my mother was when she was my age damn good one to….she was annoyed by it though.” He said watching the flaring night life whiz by them through the car windows. “Your friends must trust you to come with a total stranger.” shaking his head Navarro started speaking without looking at him “Your not a totally stranger your Sydney Roderick and you live in a ritzy high class home in west Hollywood and you have little white kitten named Pokey, see Sydney not a total stranger at all it’s like I’ve known you forever and it its comforting to know I wont steal anything from you I’m not a kleptomaniac” Sydney let him ramble on for a moment and then watched him curse himself and shuffled his lean body about in the seat wincing as he subconsciously hit his bad hand again the glove box while sitting up “Here sit back Nav we’re almost there, you can go in and take a nice hot shower and then do whatever you like.” “I want to bloody sleep…and maybe eat some ice cream before hand…could I Sydney pretty please with a cherry on top?” Pulling the car into another gear he nodded his head “Sure Navarro anything you want just sit back and relax I’ll take care you” He got no replay and quickly glanced over to the passenger seat Navarro was out like a light his curls falling across his pale face lips slightly parted, highly glossed with perfectly applied lipstick. Sydney turned back to the road smiling oddly comforted , at least he was relaxing now.
No one ever tells you exactly what you’ll feel like the night after you drink yourself to a irrationally fatuous state of mind. Deep down you think you knew the entire time what they were saying amongst themselves, as you destroyed your previous memories with the enticingly eradicative flicker of a wrist cold liquid biting your taste buds, it was a chance to call yourself a pulchritudinous loser. And you could bet anything in your pockets you took that offer. Come morning however your senses are once again on fire, raging behind your eyelids and resurfacing those old memories you worked oh so hard to forget for even a tiny moment of day lit hours.
Navarro woke up to the sound of silence. Something he wasn’t used to and for the life of him he couldn’t shake the feeling he was in a peaceful place, somewhere no one could hurt him, for a moment his self esteem was clean and brittle as candy wafer. Slipping his way through the luscious expanse of carpet towards the bathroom and quietly hummed to himself as he better took in his surrounding. By the time he had reasoned he’d better take a shower Sydney had discovered his visitor was missing from the bed following the sound of running water his nerves were calmed. Cup of mocha almond coffee in his between his hands he watched Navarro wash his hair with borrowed shampoo and wash away the last remnants of last nights partying. When he caught the boys dizzying attention he saw him smile silly like a kid caught stealing cookies before dinner. Shaking his head he asked if Navarro would like to come uptown with him for breakfast to a little place he knew of that had great cuisine the best he’d ever had in all of L.A in his short life time. As far as breakfast food went he normally never went out for anything to eat since he was normally stuck inside a office taking peoples horrible idea’s and dashing them to charred pieces of worthless muck. In other words he wanted to spoil his guest.
Navarro sat in a very high priced restaurant dressed in his punk rock royalty clothing. Everyone was staring at them none to kindly and he knew exactly why. They all made him nervous and Sydney seemed cool as a cucumber totally unaware and if he was aware of there evil stares in their tables direction and the snotty gaze of the waiter he didn’t let on that he cared in the least. He was just to engrossed in having Nav as his guest, showing him off to anyone with 20/20 vision who regardless of the fact wanted to notice them or not. The frangible piece of Belgium waffle which was covered in a light powdered sugar frosting softly dusted along it’s exteriors, melted away against the outer surface of Navarro’s sarcastic tongue which was far to busy tasting the food rather then criticizing those around him. Sydney drank his champagne and orange juice, keeping a watchful eye on his guest who seemed to be feeling better once his stomach was full with something other then martini’s. He knew the manager was ticked off beyond belief for bringing anyone like Navarro into the restaurant but they knew him a valued customer and more so a valued marketed business partner as far as stocks and money portfolios went with the companies involvement in the restaurant industries in general. Navarro looked straight off the back streets of the inner city totally rustic as far as clothing went, but he was clean cut and more so exceedingly sharpened like a switch blade knife. Cute little back street American punk that’s what he was. But what was he to Navarro? A refined business man who picked up cute barely legal guys in night clubs, who used his spare time to help those in need and better adequate himself with the human race to create world peace? Hardly! Whatever he was to Navarro it was clearly unknown at this time, the boy was really enjoying what he’d ordered for him off of the menu. He’d been ultimately adorable in ordering a glass of ice-cold milk to go along with it. The waiter had nearly snarled in protest but Navarro held his ground smiled with glee like a juvenile ten year old who’d won the battle on whether dessert could pass as breakfast. It would matter little what the waiter thought of them both, because by the end of the meal Navarro had the poor man blushing like a school girl at her first date. Sydney could see Navarro’s power to charm people it was floating on the surface of his consciousness. No one could truly hate him forever. It was plain it was simple and it was down right exciting to watch unfold. When Navarro had finished his breakfast he sat back in his chair very straight backed, showing if anything at all he had good posture. Dabbing his mouth gently with a cloth napkin he watched Sydney comprehensively, the man hadn’t said hardly anything the entire meal. Indulging himself in a swallow of cold milk it washed down the meal itself and took further measures in coating his inner stomach lining with a fine sheen of dairy product delightfulness. When the check was brought and paid for, they exited the restaurant, but not of course before Navarro could blow a kiss to the snot nosed waiter who’s brains silently melted in embarrassment. Sydney merely snickered pulling him along like a child’s best friend at the fair. Murmuring something about envisioning him in Dior Homm, which was Italian designer suits and clothing. Very yummy stuff cost you the price of a small European car in the states, which would equal up in the state themselves as the price of a small house. Amusingly horribly isn’t it? Sydney didn’t think so, if you looked great in it and you had to money to spoil yourself or others with it why not. And because of this realization he had long since come across Navarro had no choice but to bite on his tongue and allow himself to be drug into designer European clothing stores for men and woman alike where he was pampered by people who ranted and raved at everything he did. Doing anything and everything Sydney told them to do. If Sydney wanted him wrapped in silver leafed silk scarves and nothing else they’d do it. Say Navarro wanted a Pepsi and a peach flavored lollipop, all Sydney had to do was snap his fingers and quietly yell at them in French, Italian, or German it didn’t matter. Navarro thought it was great when he become totally flustered at peoples incompetence to understand and started swearing in German. It made him sound inexorably ruthless. It was rigorously sexy when you got down to the bottom line. After carefully bagging each and every single little package of purchased clothing they strolled out of each store more and more pleased with themselves as the day went on. Navarro finally thought it best he ask Sydney why he was getting him all these things and for what reasons exactly. “Sydney dearest, newfound friend of mine why on earth are you doing this for me? I didn’t ask for you get me all this nastily expensive clothing and accessories.” Navarro laughed “I just thought you were treating me to breakfast before you kicked me out of your home.” Sydney smiled “Do you enjoy the things I bought you Navarro?” “Yes but I want to know why your getting it all for me you hardly know me enough to buy me socks let alone Italian suits.” Sydney touched his arm with his leather-gloved hand “But you enjoy the things I bought you Navarro and that’s all that matters end of story I won’t stand to hear you whine about them when I know you love everything, I wouldn’t have bought it if I didn’t know you absolutely loved the damned stuff. Plus you look unequivocally exquisite in all of it. You make me want to cry you look so adorable.” Navarro blushed slightly noticing his hand still hadn’t left its post against the smooth skin of his arm. “I guess I should thank you I have no idea how other then saying ‘thank you’.” Sydney look elated as they drove down the road headed back towards his house, “Then thank me by saying yes when I ask you to come with me tomorrow night to a convention ball for my company, I need a date for the big shindig ball and I thought it would only be right I ask you since you seem to enjoy my company so much…I just hope I’m not coming off strong I never have many friends I find entertaining in a sense of speaking to keep around longer then two hours. But you Nav your special one of a kind like a diamond in the ruff. Come on then be my diamond for the evening please?” Navarro found he could only smile softly “I really highly doubt after spending this short time with you Sydney that I could ever truly say no to you.” Sydney squeezed his hand lightly “Good, I didn’t think so.”
Ace and Gwen only saw their fearless baby faced leader for a small moment he came charging through dressed like he owned nothing at all and instantly began to ramble on how glorious his week was going. You’d think he was wearing crystal industrialized stiletto’s for how pumped up he was. Ace listened intently to every juicy little detail he was willing to spill. Sydney’s profile came up chillingly clean save for some nasty tantrum arrests during business meetings as a crimson infant minded new-b to the world of corporate rule. Navarro made a special stop to his father and uncles office/bedroom to say hell. He ended up staying longer then he planned on and Twitch was more then pleased to hear of this new boy toy Ian was slightly skeptical but only on the terms in which he was worried for his sons safety but it was much t late to think of it in such a way Navarro was not five years old anymore and he was becoming ever more apparent as a far cry from helpless. Ian for the most part couldn’t be more happy for him. He kissed them both most carefully and skipped his way outside the doorway. Giving Ace and Gwen, Sydney’s home phone number telling them only to call after ten pm and if no one answered to just leave a message on the silly answering machine Sydney had bough ten himself on a whim one day while out with Navarro, he’d only gotten the thing because Navarro had a knack for disappearing and if he needed anything all he had to do was call and leave a message and he’d get right back to him. He even went as far as to allow Navarro to leave the message for the terrified world to listen to every time he missed a call. “Sydney’s not home right now, Where could he be you might be asking yourself Will I’ll tell you where he is he’s out spoiling his Diamond baby so you all know what to do leave a message after the damn tone. Love yea bah bye.” Sydney was at work at the moment and clearly instructed his secretary to allow Nav entry to the office regardless of whether or not he was inside and if she could help it in the least to get him a Pepsi I only if he asked nicely and with a please and thank you to start and finish the matter. Dressed in his combat boots that cut off exactly at the middle of his shin, With jade green German army style pants snuggly fitted at the hips and a simple Ralph Lauren dress shirt he looked cute and refreshed make up done lightly and hair left in loose fatty curls, he smelled of light kiss me all over scented perfume Sydney himself had come across in the store they’d been in uptown. Along with the light fragrance of baby powder he was perfection in leather. Strutting his way to the office he’d gotten the greatest stares in the elevator, giving everyone a ’yes sir I’m real go on touch me I swear I’ve had all my shots’ type smile. Ira Sydney’s petit little secretary sat behind her little station and the moment she saw Navarro he nose wrinkled in thought and he body soon perked up with crisp realization “Oh! You must be Navarro, Mr. Roderick told me to be on the look out for you and sure enough here you are. I took the liberty of ordering you a drink before hand it’s on ice in his office he’s not in right now but his meeting will be over very soon so go right on in. “ Navarro giggled slightly when she was done “thanks Ira you’re a doll.” He helped himself on inside taking a seat in Sydney’s desk twirling around in a computer chair while sucking on the straw of his soft drink. To Nav’s benefit the meeting was cut short due to the loss of working ability from the staff of the visiting company ho wanted to start a Cuban, New York style restaurant in the middle of L,A Sydney had taken one look at their materials and told them with a dissatisfied smile “Until your in gear and out of might sight your lovely people can just take your little Cuban cuisine to New York and try there I’m not wasting my tome on losers.” When Ira had announced Navarro’s arrival to him his spirited had been instantly lifted and he smiled brightly at her telling her quite kindly that she had the afternoon off and to just forward his call to his main office machine and not worry about a single thing.
Navarro grinned upon seeing him the plan stood as stated. Jet from the office and down to the house change cloths and streak off to the convention dinner party. All of Navarro’s new things along with stuff he had yet to even see were all neatly kept inside Sydney’s walk in closet on it’s own side even.
An hour later found Navarro wearing black tuxedo pants with super shined dress shoe’s and just his Ralph Lauren collared white shirt with the Dior Homme’s tux blazer on top mixed with a pea green scarf with flapper style tassels on the ends. The blazer itself was actually a light charcoal gray with raven black trim along it’s edges and pockets outer linings. Sydney had to hold in his laughter at how stupid Navarro looked with the curlers in his hair 30min before they left the house to make sure he had everything perfect he double checked his make up on the way out applying a sheer amount of bronze bombshell lipstick it came out an extremely light golden pink tone. It was hardly drag, it was simply sexy if you had the power to ultimately pull it off then do it no one’s stopping you but yourself, Navarro certainly wasn’t going to stop himself because he saw no reason to, call it the vainness in him or call it whatever you like. It doesn’t matter anyhow.
The party had been beautifully planned. Done to a sparkling little dot. But somewhere between the ballroom dancing and gasping mouths, someone crushed that little dot. Caught it beneath the heel of there shoe and smashed it, crushing it’s dotty little bones to dust. It all happened the moment he saw her standing against the wall dressed to kill as always in a slinky black number. Like a death inspired 1930’s cocktail dress. He had no idea who she was and neither did Sydney she made them both shiver and bite there tongue sharply. Not out of adoration but out of disgust. The disgust mostly came from Sydney’s part; he saw her staring at Navarro the moment they came in and tried to ignore her from then on. Somewhere inside his mind he prayed he didn’t know her at all and he was visibly thankful when Navarro asked why the insane woman in black was stalking him. It finally became all too much and Sydney stormed towards her in a fury of fuming agitation. She merely smiled. Very slick smile, as if she knew what she was doing to him frying his brain peeling the nails from his hands. Navarro stood straight back in the ballroom dance floor his fingers tickling the lining of his coat pocket checking for several items and finding the trusting friends still there at his side. Sydney was probably snarling in English this time it was hard to tell, the woman only smiled on and it infuriated Sydney to a dismally disastrous level of speaking. Navarro finally had his fill of her upsetting demeanor and took a small little stroll towards them. When he came within touching distance he purposely wrapped an arm around Sydney’s and proceeded to act completely unaware of the situations difficulties giving a broad sly grin, “Sydney dearest your missing all the dancing…Oh who’s this Sydney a friend of yours, you should really introduce me to her before I really open my mouth and call her a treacherous tramp or something.” He swallowed smoothly after his comment. “Navarro this is Linda, she’s a big fat obnoxious sleaze ball mega tramp from my uncles law firm she didn’t have to go to law school to get into the company however I’m guessing you can fathom an idea as to how she got to be a top corporate executive.” The young woman in front of him smiled harshly and pretended she didn’t hear him “Sydney your friend is simply to die for where on earth did you find him the whore house down the lane.” “No sorry babe that’s where my uncle found ‘you’” he turned to Navarro “She’s really forgetful sometimes it’s due to all the coke she snorts up her right nostril.” Navarro snickered and held his ground he felt his fingers begin to twitch “ She’s charming Sydney she really is I had no idea you had….drug users in your company line.” “Oh there swimming all over this place I should point a few out most are in my uncles company line family. None are in mine however I wouldn’t allow my company to sink as low as my pathetic uncles he’s a worm Navarro.” Sydney grasped his shoulder rather tightly “I’m sure he is Sydney could you excuse me I’m going to make a trip to the men’s room powder my nose yea know got to look my best for the overly elderly here.” Navarro puckered his lips and blew Linda a soft kiss mouthing ‘tramp’ at her and turning away. He could be such a brat. Sydney turned his attention back towards his uncle’s distastefully gruesome girlfriend who on occasion tried to steal many of Sydney’s dates and clients alike. “Haven’t you caused enough damage Linda no one really enjoys your company you’re like talking to a stray cat you don’t know when to leave.” Adjusting her bra beneath her slinky dress she paused to apply a fresh coat of lip gloss “Sydney, Sydney, Sydney You really are a sap haven’t you learned your little friends are the one’s who don’t like ‘you’ I haven’t met one who didn’t want to take me out for a night on the town or at least admit to hating your guts. What’s so different about this one, besides the fact he lets you dress him up like a freaking doll.” Sydney found, himself, suddenly pleased and cramped with a sudden idea. Linda had been asking for it for a long time now and little did she know but he’d seen his uncle with another woman probably near his own age, this other woman had things that Linda of course did not have, A collection of sports cars to add to his own, her own house in palm springs along with a cute little toddler the woman had earned through her last two marriages. Linda only had her overly bogus sassy mouth and whatever his uncle decided to buy her. He wrenched his hands gently “You really want to try Navarro out for a spin go ahead he’ll be out back on the patio in fifteen minutes that’s all you have by the way I really like him so he’s not up for grabs.” What a dolt he though quietly to himself as he watched her step out onto the dance floor once more and start speaking to other people so high above her. His plans were unfolding and this one of course came to him by accident he’d been looking to get her out of his sight for a long time now she was nothing but a waste of time. Picking up a wine glass from a waiter he took a small drink, what an idiot, laughing to himself he paused he couldn’t believe she took the bait. It was only a matter of time once Navarro returned from the men’s room informed of his orders, he was slightly unsure of Sydney’s idea they were in a convention center building, with ton’s of witnesses not that it had ever been a problem he had nothing to worry about, Linda however did. People Sydney knew thought Navarro was just the most charming young man they’d ever met and they’d be delighted if Sydney brought him over with him to dinner one evening sometime during the year. Navarro was glad he was making a good impression with these people; to Sydney the more people enjoyed his company the easier it would be to do what he wanted Navarro to do. His uncles company was becoming ever presently peskier, prying into his personal information labs, and medalling with his employer’s. Lately with the constant array of bad business coming into his own firm Sydney was becoming more and more annoyed with his uncle. So he’d been thinking if his uncle was going to play dishonest then he would play old fashion like. Good ole back stabbing revenge. Nothing else quite like it. Navarro would be getting something in return of course there was no doubt on his mind. The only problem with his plans so far was…Navarro didn’t know a thing about them. He was easily letting him in showing him around. He cared about the boy so much would do anything for him. He’d been shocked at first but he’d heard about he boys father when he was younger he’d thought it was all a myth. Not only was he showing off a very beautiful Diamond baby, but also this Diamond baby came equipped with weapons of mass destruction, the ability to cleanse. Sydney knew if Navarro refused to do the jobs for him he’d be crushed, and unlike his attitude towards anyone else, he knew very well he could not hurt Navarro not intentionally anyway. And if he could help it no one else was going to either, not without paying a high price, from either Navarro or himself. Linda was just the start.
Navarro walked like a dancer, smooth and with ease, like moving poetry splashed with cool vodka gin. The moment he touched her he found he hated everything about her, the cheap perfume she wore the lies that made up her red blotched eye’s how her makeup was really tacky and dress hung to loose on her body. It’d been hard to notice at first but once you were touching her everything became perceptible. Just the touch of her falsely silk injected skin made your own crawl. Her hand raised in insubstantial dignity, primarily flimsily ground white powder floating on the extended piece of flesh located between her thumb and index finger which were spread eagle, sliding it slickly underneath her shredded nostrils tiny microscopic holes were developing inside. His hand traced the lines of her on coming wrinkles at age 25, swerving along her hammering heart rate; her mind was an emotional train wreck. No one loved her everyone hated her. Was it true she screamed in her head? No it wasn’t true then but it sure was now. Take a fresh faced goody-to-shoe’s slap her with a deadbeat flaky boyfriend spend a few years in a no name town near Dallas, allow her to have five abortions rip apart her insides and put them back incorrectly, shove a load of coke in her face to make it all better and call it a day, that’s exactly what you get in the end results when you looked at Linda. The list of tragic beginnings and ends is truly endless in itself. Navarro truly felt sorry for her he really did but his lack of emotions made it easier. You can only pity someone like this for so long before it get as old and as stale as they are. He wondered if she noticed her nose was bleeding even as she snorted another line another her palm, it dribbled along her upper lip as she giggled experiencing at least her third high of the night. Cocaine was such a selfish drug, it ruined the brain tore it pieces, told you lies and made you see things you didn’t want to see. It whispered in your ear ‘your beautiful with me’ but without it you were an ugly hag no one wanted you and no one needed you. So you keep it up until it wins in the end or someone ends it for you. Navarro was not doing her a favor by his actions and in truth it was not a favor for Sydney. He did it for people like Jack because of the fear they felt the issue’s they wrongly faced like deer in the headlights, stupid and dumbfounded. He hadn’t even done anything yet and he already wanted to wash her off of him obliterate her existence from his memory. She disgusted him, repulsed him in the worst possible ways that he almost smiled he wondered if she knew what exactly was happening to the inside of her body and yet she kept doing it day in and day out. It baffled him how people found it possible to do this to themselves. Shutting out the backward glances and sounds he led her quietly down the walkway through the garden and towards a cement walkway near a patch of Gardena’s growing in abundance. He felt like telling her this is the end Linda baby say your goodbye’s to the world or at least to day light. With subtle intimacy he lightly brushed her hand away looking up towards the sky at the smoggy L.A skyline of dirty new born stars twinkling there plea’s to the moon, he wondered off the top of his head if she could feel any pain at all really or was she just reacting from the jerking motions. He’d never know and neither would she that he even bothered to think on it. With a loving twist her nose fairly enough fell to chunky wet pieces in his hand, slick and gooey coating his gloved fingers in thick mucus filled blood clots. It was like touching oatmeal if it were made from tormented human insides. The left over cocaine that she had foolishly snorted up her devastated nose just moments ago was soggy and drenched, like salt clumps at the bottom of spoiled milk. He shook his hand hard a couple of times and wiped the remains of her face against her dress. Laying her down carefully she stared up at him with honest confused drug infested eye sockets. They were bloodshot and ruined, Linda was ruined, had been for a very long time running now, someone finally showed her the exit door. It was a shame though it had to be this way. But oh well it’s the way the cards played out. Blood spurted from her face in the place where her nose once sat, he could vaguely see signs of her gums and upper jaw through holes in her face. He hadn’t needed anything from his pockets after all it seemed cruel to do anything more to her, fate would finish her off. Navarro would leave it at that his work here done was and he just wanted to go home and he was positive Sydney felt the same way. So he headed for the patio doorway leading back inside Sydney waited for him right where he left him just moments ago taking his hand gently in his own he kissed him chastely on the side of the mouth, Navarro returned the gesture kindly. Sydney took his Diamond Baby home that night and wrapped him up in sweet warm caress, filled his tummy up with vanilla bean ice cream and then they both called it a night. It was going to be a messy year. But there wasn’t going to be any shortage of violent romance, Sydney was going to make sure of that.
