Wanting
I want you to hold me tightly
And kiss me deeply
I want you to chase away my fears
And wipe away my tears.
I want you to hold my hand when things get dark
And go with me on long strolls in the park
I want you to whisper sweet nothings to me
And take me for walks down by the sea
I want you to say those three little words,
And sit with me as I watch the birds.
I want you to sleep next to me in the bed
And dance with me in the rain, not caring if we get wet.
But all of this wanting is for naught.
To you I am nothing but a thought.
So I’ll just sit over here pawning
And just keep on wanting.
