There was a knock at the door. I jerked back into my body. The light faded away, appearing as if it had got sucked into a hole. The candles where still burning but only two remained. I looked at them but could not be bothered to blow them out. I figured there must still be a message there for me. “Damnations! I suppose I ought to go and answer the door,” I thought and stood up making my way treading carefully over the burning candles.

I was relieved to see it was James.
“Hello Heather, I said that I would be back,” He looked me into the eyes.
“Yes, you did, didn’t you?” I turned to go towards the kitchen, looking over my shoulders I asked, “coffee, or something stronger?”
“You look like you could do with something stronger,” he observed.
“Oh, well I don’t know why that is.” I tried to look innocent.
“Hmm, if I didn’t know any better, I would say that you have been up to some Tom Foolery!”
“What makes you say that?”
“Your body language,” He had come up behind me, placing a hand on my right shoulder, stroking it gently.
I turned round, my mouth gaping open. At that moment he lent towards me and kissed me. It was hard and demanding and turned soft into a passionate kiss once I returned it. I reached behind me to hold onto the work surface. I fumbled around and found the cup I had gotten ready. I brought it round and broke free from his kiss, “coffee?”
“With a dash of lemon, please,” I quizzed him at that remark with a look.
“Ah, its good for the health.” He would not elaborate anymore on it. It seems I had to find out for myself about these lemons.

Out of the corner of my eyes I could see a dash of blue velvet like substance, moving quickly against the breeze near the window. I hoped that James would not be able to see it. It sparsely removed itself for me, why should it anyway? I was wishing it to go away. My eyes hovered to the window, wishing and wishing, but to no avail. “Keep them coming,” I heard, thinking lemons!

He had sidled up to me standing close. I noticed he wore grey slacks and a white shirt. He was starting to build up a stubbly beard. He must have been working hard. He wore Lynx aftershave. It was very intoxicating. I wanted to sniff it all night but had to pull myself away. I was very sure that he would not have objected one little bit. I love stubble and a bit of rough and ready, when the mood took me!

In the absence of strangers, it was hard to imagine a life without crime and a life with it. It worked both ways. What I had encountered so far was easy stuff. It came from no-where. I wanted to get into something I could get my teeth into. This sort of thing was awesome and I loved it. Boy, I loved it!

In the event of strangers leaving, well that was entirely different. What caused them to leave was a mixture of being found out and confronted. If I looked them directly in the eyes they barely could look into mine, which told me that they could not sacrifice themselves to acknowledge that they had done wrong.

I looked at James, wondering about him. Why he was so interested in a mere mortal like me. I guess I would be finding out soon.

He followed me to the front room. I glanced over my shoulders and smiled sweetly. “Welcome to my humble abode,” I showed him the way in.
My sitting room was of pale purple and lilac hues, healing colours with a hint of silver. I had a large comfy sofa near the bay window and a computer tucked in the corner, where I worked. For some reason I thought, “Erectimus,” but that is where we stop at that thought. I grinned evilly, “You getting sly in your old age girl!” I thought. I had put a guard over my mind recently so that James could not read it. It had bugged me that he seemed to know everything what was going on in there.

“James, tell me about Magda, who the heck is he?” I sat next to him on the sofa.
“Why do you ask petal?”
I took a sip of coffee and looked thoughtful.
“Well, I had an experience last night and the name was mentioned.”
“Ah.” He looked at me directly in the eyes and said, “I could tell you, but its more fun for you to find out, because you are starting to get warm in your search for lemons.”
“Humph!”
“Why, Heather! Isn’t it more fun finding out that being told?” I let his arm slide round my shoulders. I did like James. I just did not want to go to bed with him yet. I wasn’t really that kind of girl. I thought that if he really liked me he would be willing to wait, but I wouldn’t say no to kissing and well, let’s just see how it goes. I wanted to find out more about Magda.

“You know James, if I didn’t know any better, I would say that you are Magda.”
“What made you come to that conclusion?”
“Because I automatically called what I thought was you Magda, during my experience.”
“Was it a bit erotic?” his eyebrows raised up, he tried to look serious.
“That won’t work, Magda. See that just slipped out then. And more to the point, what is it with these lemons?”
Would you like to be shown?” He said softly. He traced a finger down my cheek to my lips and ran it across them. My lips parted.

In the heat of the moment it became a passionate kiss. Our arms locked around each other in an embrace. I didn’t want him to stop. So... this was lemons! I chuckled to myself haughtily. So when someone next says to me, “Would you like a lemon? I had better be careful what I reply!” I thought evilly. The kiss was intoxicating. We fell back against the sofa kissing. It was deep and seemed to last a long time.

Neither of us heard the hissing noise that came from the fireplace. In the next instant there was a whoosh and a blue light appeared, floating in the air. It darted this way and that around the room whilst we were kissing. It stopped to look at us and shook it’s being is disdain, before darting off again around the room. The silent hiss became louder as the blue light grew bigger and spread itself out. It protruded a brilliant electric blue light around the room. It was putting on a show for us that we couldn’t see. In our dream, we were both gliding to a place of comfort and peace, with waterfalls and fairy goblins perched on rocks sunbathing. Sunbathing! I glanced around. Man this kiss was wild. It was doing things to me that no other had dared to do, I just happened to let it this time. Miss prim and proper was going places.

James lifted his head, breaking the kiss. We cuddled for a long time, lying snuggled against one another. There was a faint blue glow around us. But neither of us took any notice. “Very romantic,” I thought.

But neither of us realised the danger that we could have been in if he hadn’t have broken the kiss at that point. For the blue light had been changing into a being, the one that I saw in the bubble the night before. Mar’dalanda had just been deciding what to do with the hell-raiser, law-breaker bitch that had stabbed him in the back. What gave her the right?

A voice told him in his ear, “She is a light worker, Lord and has got utmost authority in her doings as she goes about her business. She is of the High Council of Murl and a psychic to boot. She has high protection and maximum security at all levels. You would not want to cross her, for if you do, watch out down a dark ally way. She is like the devil on holiday!”
Mar’dalanda thought, “She would not want to cross a Lord on her travels. I have plans, oh I have plans for her, if she pulls another stunt like that again with me, she will find out what they are and I have no mercy!”

James and Heather did not hear the faint murmurings, although Heather thought that it had gotten a bit chilly in the room when only a second ago it was nice and warm. She had an uncanny feeling of being watched, but let it go. She was not going to let it spoil her time with James. There were just starting to get to know one another, now she had let him in.

The blue light zipped around a bit more but fainter, before popping into nothing in the corner of the room. Heather did hear something that time and a faint whisper on the breeze, “I will be back,” but did not let it bother her. That was the end of Mar’dalanda, or so she thought. When she had gotten back she had ticked him off her most wanted list that had been handed to her before her return to the earth plane. But she had not anticipated the cleverness of the Lord. He had run riot long enough on Murl for her to spot him a mile off. He had been one step ahead of her until now. She smiled for her good work. The ending was satisfying.

What she did not know in her intoxication of James was that Mar’dalanda was still one step ahead of her. She did not know that he was still alive for she had under estimated him. He grinned evilly and knowingly. “Gotcha!”

“Never under any circumstance, but never, under estimate me, for I am the Lord, Mar’dalanda, ruler of the Universe that I took over a century ago, for I am the keeper of time and travel and space. I go beyond reality and into the dreams of unsuspecting victims. Do not cross me for your worth.” The words hung on the air as finally, he completely disappeared…

James turned to her and said, \"By the way, Heather darling,\"
\"What?\" I was miles away.
\"For your information, that was only a touch on lemons!\"
My mouth gaped open.
