The Party
At home Ana took a long Shower. She was careful to shave everything that a woman would. She smiled as she sprayed the Veet on her legs and ran around picking up her make-up, picking out her shoes to wear, getting stuff for her shower. She then stripped down and stepped into the bath tub. She then started the water. After that she wrapped a towel around her body and walked into her bed room. She brushed out her wet hair and bloied ied it until it was all straight. She then rubbed some mouse in her hand and rubbed it in hair to make it all curly as it was before. She slipped into her dress and stuck a red flower behind her ear to match her earrings, necklace and spiked heel shoes. She then grabbed her purse and things and headed back to the motel.
Jordan got ready for the fiesta, putting on a nice pair of stonewashed jeans, the tight shirt he purchased and he ran a shami over his cowboy boots and slipped them back on. Coming from the Midwest, people didn't think of him as a cowboy, but he owned 120 acres and three horses, so he figured he qualified. After he was ready he got Angie all prettied up for the party in her new dress, he even combed and made an attempt at some sort of style, finally settling with just making it look good. After he was done, he took her hand and led her out of their room towards the motel office.
Ana had her back to the door as she did some last minute calculations and turned the computer monitor off. She never shut it down just in case of an emergency. She then walked around the counter and stood in front of it to look at her keys to make sure none were missing. Seeing what she wanted she turned to see Jordan and Angie walking in. She stopped shirt when she saw the look on his face, "What did I do?"
Jordan watched her work for a moment she looked pretty stunning in her dress and the flower in her hair make him breathe deeply as his heart jumped. "Nothing, jusmirimiring your dress. Why?"
"Oh," she blushed and laughed, "Sorry, its just you had this look in your..." she stopped as she heard the first of the music out back started.”I'm going to find Marcus," Ana piped up, "He always dances the first song with me!" with that she bolted out the door.
Jordan watched her go and his heart fell a little. He felt guilty about it, but shook it off. Still holding Angie's hand he said, "Let’s go honey." They walked ohe bhe back of the motel and into a large area with hanging lights, music, and tables set up. A number of people were working their way towards the party. He sat Angie up on a table and they watched the few couples dance to the salsa music.
"Why didn’t you ask him to dance?" Marcus asked in his Spanish. Ana smiled but didn’t look up at him, "Because I always danced the first dance with you." Marcus pulled her chin up, "That’s a lie Ana," he said, "And you're not very good at lying." Ana pressed her forehead to his chest, "Because I can’t have him touch me Marc," she admitted, "I get this feeling. My knees go all weak and it’s like my body is made out of electricity." Marcus smiled, "it’s called love Ana," he told her.
Jordan watched Ana and Marcus dance. They made a pretty good couple, all things considered. He felt a tug on his leg as Angie tried to get his attention. "Papa, where is mama? Did she leave again? When will she be back?"
"I don't know where she went honey, but I'm sure she will be back soon. Do you know where she went, or where she goes when she leaves?"
Angie shrugged, "I dunno, she just leaves me with Mr Marcus."
Jordan ran his hand over her head as the music stopped. "Its ok honey." He looked up as he saw Ana and Marcus stop dancing as the music died out.
"Papa, can you dance with me?" Angie was asking as Ana walked toward an empty table. She looked up to see Angie's mother coming. She got up hurriedly and blocked Jordan and Angie dancing, "Where the hell have you b" sh" she snapped at her mom.
Jordan led Angie out to the dance floor and picked her up. Settling her on his hip, he carried her while they danced a slow song. As he danced, he turned slightly and saw Ana having what looked like a heated debate with a woman with black hair. He couldn't see who it was because Ana's head blocked the woman's face.
"You leave your seven year old daughter to wander the streets while you leave!" Ana yelled, "What in the world is more important?" Katherine only shook her head, "I love my daughter!" she snapped. Ana began to back away, "Hell of a way to show it." She then stepped out of the way.
