Another Encounter With Nick
The next morning, Devi found her still being embraced by a sleeping Jon. She smiled slightly, and wonder what would happe she she kissed him later on. Yet she heard Jon’s phone ring, and decided to answer it, to hopefully let him sleep.
“Hello?”
“I knew it...Get your ass out of that fucker’s bed and get over to your apartment, NOW!”
Devi quickly slammed down the phone forgetting that Jon was asleep.
“What was that about??” He asked, only half awake and yawning.
“Nick called...”
Devi told Jon exactly what had happened, and she decided that she would go back to her house, only if Jon was with her.

When they arrived there, Devi was glad that she had remembered to pack all of her knives and bring them with her. As she unlocked the door, she could feel the sheath of her favorite knife against her leg. She hadn’t planned on stabbing anyone, but she figured that she would keep it close to her just incase she really needed it.
As Jon and Devi walked into the house, she found that someone had broken in during the night. Everything was turned over and torn apart. Papers were everywhere, and glass was shattered on the floor. Everything that she had there, was destroyed. She walked slowly around in shock of what had happened.
Jon walked up behind her and put his arms around her, thinking that she would probably need some support. AS the two walked into her room, she found Nick sitting on her bed. The only thing that hadn’t been touched.
“I said for YOU to come. NOT him..” Nick growled.
“Tough....”
Nick got up and advanced towards Devi with his fists clenched. Devi remembered the previous day and winced with pain. She stood still, hoping that he would stop. She could still feel Jon’s arms around her, and when Nick was only a few feet away from her, Jon stood in front of her.
“I told you yesterday to leave her alone.” Jon said sternly.
“Since when would I listen to someone else? Especially the guy who my girl friend cheated on me with?!”
Devi stood next to Jon and said trying not to yell, “I didn’t cheat on you..But as I said yesterday, I really do wish I was with him through out the time that we were going out because he would NEVER rape me or beat me.” As she spoke, her fists clenched, and her anger was rising. She began shaking slightly, using everything in her to not kill Nick.
He took another step towards Devi, and he was close enough that she could feel his hot breath on her face. She looked up into his cold black eyes, and went against every instinct to hit him.
Jon saw how enraged she was and stepped a little closer to Nick. “Get the hell out of here Nick..” Jon said threateningly.
Nick took a few steps away, and walked out the door. Devi let out a sigh of relief, glad that he was gone. She sat down on the bed with Jon next to her. She was thinking about everything that she was now facing. After a few minutes, she heard something in the living room.
Devi and Jon sat bolt up and stared intensely at the door. Their breathing was silent. Devi silently got up and walked to the door. But before she reached it, Nick emerged from the living room, with a knife in his hand.
He lunged for Devi who was to terrified to scream. But instead she dodged his swing and threw a side kick to his face and brought him to the ground. Nick got back up, as his shoulder began to swell up, and he had a look of death in his eyes.
He had forgotten that Jon was in the room as well, and he was looking straight at Devi waiting for her to make a move. She held his glance, while watching Jon come up behind him. Jon threw a round house kick to his chest, and Nick again fell.
A minute later, Nick got up and left. Jon and Devi watched him walk out the door and drive away.
Devi again, sat down on her bed, and thought for a minute, before asking, “Jon....look, I feel really bad about asking you this, but I really need it...Would you let me stay at your house for a while? Like, at least until this bull shit with Nick dies down? I’ll pay rent, I’ll buy food, I’ll do what ever. I just can’t stay here..”
Jon smiled and nodded his head in agreement. He leaned in to kiss her, but stopped at the last second, and tickled her instead, hoping he didn’t do anything to increase th depth of her wave of emotions...
