style='mso-tab-count:1'> The streets were cold, they were
always cold. Upon the death of my
parents I had been thrown out on the street.
We had never had much and now I was on the street, the cold street.style="mso-spacerun: yes"> I was alone. I had no one left and no life.
I was starving and freezing.
Looking up into the streetlamp I was under I realized that I probably
didn’t have much time to live.

style='mso-tab-count:1'> “Shit.” I sighed as the sky opened
up and rain began to pour down around me, “Great, I just feel so much better.”
I said sarcastically.

style='mso-tab-count:1'> I bowed my head and closed my
eyes. Maybe death was better; maybe I
should just give up and die, “Now why would you want to do that?” Someone asked
softly.

style='mso-tab-count:1'> I looked up to see who was
there. He was beautiful in the light of
the streetlamp. His black hair
shimmered and rain dripped down his face and shoulders.style="mso-spacerun: yes"> I blinked, unsure if he was real, unsure
what to think.

style='mso-tab-count:1'> “Are you an angel?” I asked softly,
I had to be hallucinating.

style='mso-tab-count:1'> He laughed softly, “No, I’m no
angel.” He squatted down before me, “Come with me and let’s get you some warm
food and a nice shower.”

style='mso-tab-count:1'> I blinked then nodded, it did sound
good, “Alright.” I whispered.

style='mso-tab-count:1'> He smiled and offered me his
hand. I took it and he helped me to my
feet, pulling his jacket off and wrapping it around my shoulders.style="mso-spacerun: yes"> I shuddered and he wrapped an arm around my
shoulder, pulling me against him. We
didn’t walk for long; he took me to the doors of a large house on the outskirts
of town. Without a word he opened the
door and took me inside, removing the jacket from around my shoulders and
hanging it up. Easily he picked me up
and carried me up a flight of marble stairs.
I clung to him, unsure of what was going to happen but happy that I was
out of the rain. He carried me to a
steaming bath.

style='mso-tab-count:1'> “I’m not going to hurt you, just
relax.” He said, setting me down and carefully removing my clothes.

style='mso-tab-count:1'> I blushed but he ignored it,
beginning to wash me with careful hands and sweet smelling soap.style="mso-spacerun: yes"> I closed my eyes, my cheeks were flushed,
warm water flowed over me, rinsing away the soap before I bar bare flesh against
mine. My eyes snapped open to find him
carrying me into the large bath. A low
groan escaped my lips as he took me into the heat.

style='mso-tab-count:1'> “There, isn’t this better?” He asked
softly.

style='mso-tab-count:1'> I nodded, “Thank you.” I whispered,
“I owe you my life.”

style='mso-tab-count:1'> “Hush.” He said soothingly, “Relax
and enjoy the water.”

style='mso-tab-count:1'> I closed my eyes and felt his arm
wrap around me. Instead of pushing him
away I sank against him, I was grateful, and I was happy that he had given me
this. I would do anything to keep this
warmth, to keep this safety.

style='mso-tab-count:1'> “What’s your name?” He asked me
softly, his fingers running through my hair.

style='mso-tab-count:1'> “Jace.” I replied.

style='mso-tab-count:1'> Softly he kissed my cheek, “I’m
Cain.”

style='mso-tab-count:1'> I sank closer, “Why are you doing
this?” I asked softly, “Why did you save me?
What are you going to do with me?” The questions flowrom rom my lips
like water.

style='mso-tab-count:1'> “Hush Jace, I’m not going to hurt
you, I’m not going to let you go back onto the street either.style="mso-spacerun: yes"> You’re going to stay here and I will take
care of you.” He kissed lightly down my throat, “It’s safe here.”

style='mso-tab-count:1'> I shuddered slightly and closed my
eyes, “I owe you my life.”

style='mso-tab-count:1'> My eyes snapped open and a cry
escaped my lips as I felt him sink his teeth into my throat.style="mso-spacerun: yes"> I couldn’t fight him, couldn’t struggle
against him. Oh gods, it began to feel
good, pleasure flowed through my body making my back arch and my head tip to
the side so he could have better access.
He was drinking my blood, taking my life, and I was enjoying every
second of it. Suddenly he pulled away,
running his tongue over the twin puncture wounds in my throat.style="mso-spacerun: yes"> A soft sob of loss escaped my lips.style="mso-spacerun: yes"> I didn’t want him to stop; if he had killed
me I would have died with a smile on my face.

style='mso-tab-count:1'> “You’re mine now Jace.” He whispered
against my tt, “t, “And I will keep you safe, my love.”

I closed my
eyes, my head lolling back on his shoulder, “Yes.” I whispered before falling
into darkness.
