Chapter 4- the day of reckoning.

\"What it lit like to see, the face of your own stability, suddenly look away, leaving you with the dead and hopeless?\" -Tool \'Jimmy\'.

~~~~~~~~~~~~ *Flashback* ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
\"Push Martha push, I can see the crown, your almost there, just one more push!\" an excited Stewart egged.
\"Arghmnmh no, no I cant do it!\" Martha panted, her face covered in sweat as she struggled to gain breath.
\"Just one more push, come on your nearly there!\" Stewart egged.
\"Mrghhhhh\"
The sound of a baby crying filled the air as Martha pushed one last time, all of a sudden the lights in the hospital switched off and the world was plunged into darkness, moments later though the lights came back on. The hospital staff sighed in relief and thought nothing of it, a temporary glitch in the power they thought to themselves, cutting the umbilicus of the new baby, wrapping it in a towel and giving it to the mother.
ngrangratulations Martha, you have a baby boy! Do you have any name in mind?\" The mid wife said, handing the now pacified baby to the anxious parents.
\"Yes\" an exasperated Martha said.
\"His name shall be Jazm.\"
8:34am
The sound of thunder filled the air as the air crackled angrily. The once blue clear skies were suddenly filled with ominous black clouds. Spreading around the globe until the whole world was covered in angry black storm clouds. The earth began to shake as the landmasses parted and cracked. Huge fissures appeared out of nowhere as the earth began to swallow up all that had destroyed it the past 2000 years. The gates between light and darkness were open.
\"Look at the sky! Look at the sky!\" Hundreds of onlookers screamed as they got down on their knees. Praying to their gods for redemption. The sky\'s had parted, forming a large tunnel upwards to the heavens. The unnatural sky formation was massive, the circumference of the tunnel stretching out millions of kilres res to each side of the tunnel. As thousands upon millions of people gazed up at the spectacular wonder as it stretched towards the heavens forever, forming a gateway between two worlds. The edges of the tunnel was black intermixed with thin tendrils of red gas, giving it a sinister appearance. From far away the onlookers could faintly hear the sounds of a drum ing.ing. Very faintly but slowly getting louder with each passing minute. Nobody moved, most got onto their knees and began to pray. The drums got louder. The masses of people began to feel tense. Was this really judgement day? Many tried to seek redemption as they began to pray out loudly, confessing all their sins. The US government confessed that the Vietnam war was their fault, and the September 11 bombings was just a stunt used to increase their military budget and to at Ira Iraq. Others simply began to run, but wherever they ran the tunnel was still above them. Some even went insane, running around destroying and setting fire to things. Little did they know that they had all already sown their seeds of their own destruction. There was no redemption to be had this day.
The drums got louder, everyone around the globe could hear it and half of the world could see the tunnel. From far away a light steadily descended, as it got closer onlookers were able to make out details, it seemed to be some fireball of sorts hurtling towards earth at an incredible speed. Its size was enormous, like a meteor the size of New York coming at them. The kind of meteorite that would destroy the world ten times over. People began to panic as they saw this sizeable abomination heading their way as anarchy broke out, people running in every which direction trampling over each other in the process. Thousands were lost as mass hysteria broke out, there was no government or justice system present to keep them in line, to tell them that everything was under control. There was just fear. The drums got louder, the few that were still on their knees praying were trampled in the mass hysteria that captured the whole globe. The first to die, ironically it was their god that was their downfall. The fireball hurtling towards earth slowed down as two wings unfolded from the back of it, opening out to slow its descent. The masses of frightened people stopped temporarily as they gazed up at this sizeable abomination before their eyes. Millions of dumbfounded dipshits finally realising that there was no god, there was no afterlife. There was only death, death and pain.
The drums were deafening now as the dark angel descended towards the earth. His tattered wings slowing his descent as its large red eyes gazed out upon the millions of cowering earthlings. His body was heavily muscled and covered in black armour with silver runes across the chest plate. His hair was long and flowed down, white in colour it glowed ethereally. His heavily taloned hand gripped a broadsword as long as his body and in his left he lightly held a shield that had the picture of two dragons intertwined around each other. His skin was black and heavily scaled giving him an almost serpent like look. \"It is Satan! It is the devil!\" Onlookers screamed as they saw the dark lord descending through the clouds towards them. The drumming died down as the angel hovered a couple of hundred of kilometres above earth. Everyone was silent as they looked up at the angel with a mixture of fear and curiosity. Some got back down on their knees and began to pray again.
\"Greetings... Humans. I am Angsttaler \'taler of fear\' I am the dark lord and I come from a world of darkness into your world of light. You have no god to save you now, for there is no god. Religious authorities have ruled your pathetic insignificant lives. And it was all for nothing, bow down before me if you will, because I shall be the closest you ever get to seeing god. Pray now earthlings that your death may be quick, for you shall all die this day. Let the massacre begin!\"
The black angel finished, spreading his arms apart as the sound of trumpets filled the air as millions upon millions of his minions streamed past him, a vast dark cloud of death spreading its wings and descending upon the hapless humans. The drum beat started up again as the cloud grew, blocking out the sun, the sky and light as they began their attack, their eye\'s gleaming with blood lust.
The carnage was bloody as the frenzied demons swooped down upon the hapless humans, many humans tried to run, and others vainly tried to attack the hordes. But they were all consumed with fear that day as mass hysteria broke out. The world was a giant battlefield as the sounds of metal cleaving meat filled the air and screams of pain and death began to fill the air. The minions armed with black swords, the colour of dried blood and light armour swooped and dived through the blackened sky, picking off humans as they carried them into the air to feed upon their blood, like a pack of frenzied sharks. Dropping the drained corpses upon the hysterical humans only to continue the process over and over again. There was nowhere to run. Nowhere to hide.
Then came the ground support, coming in upon giant birdlike creatures, they were heavily armed with sword, shield and full body armour. They looked pig like in appearance, with their snouts, pointy ears and small black beady eyes. Millions of years of evolution and a lot of gene manipulation had led to the creation of a killing machine that could be reproduced easily and faster than any other species on the planet. Their bulk and speed allowed them to be a formidable foe whilst their intellect was second to none. Their ability to communicate telepathically with one another made them the perfect killing machine. They formed an unbreakable line, forcing the hysterical humans into dead ends where the only escape was at the point of their swords. Flushing them out of houses and areas where the flying demons could not reach them the hapless humans were soon to become the next endangered species. They did not eat, they did not sleep, and they did not tire. All around the world, great cities fell and millions upon millions died as the great cloud of death spread from country to country. The flames of darkness had been lit and the world of light was quickly fading into darkness. Still the drums of war continued to beat ceaselessly.
