Breakfast

My laptop has gone and melted again and I can't afforafford to take it to a shop, let alone replace it. There are no other computers I can 'borrow' so I've been left with a choice. Either not update for six to seven months, about how long from now I can afford a new computer, or update on my mobile because I've slowly become a wiz working with my smart phone and the internet. At least I think so.

If you see typos I apologise but sometimes things get sideways and the like. I'm used to a larger keyboard and being able to touch the keys. It'll be a learning curve but it's better than going mad from not writing.

Does also mean I have no feel for how long my chapters are, they could vary.

Read, review and enjoy!

Alex sat across the table from Blane watching the alpha pick at hes food. Blane's usual appetite was gone, too bothered by emotional things like stress and perhaps the events of the night before. Alex ate heartily, filling his stomach and settling the little swirl that had started in his gut.

"You going to eat those?" Alex asked, jabbing a finger at Blane's sausages. To which Blane went a funny sort of colour and slid the sausages onto Alex's plate, "you need to eat more." Alex said unceremoniously, "keep your strength up for the days to come. You can't face off these snots without food in your stomach."

"Excuse me?"

"Eat." Alex said with all the force he could manage.

The fork was almost to Blane's mouth before it dropped to the plate and Blane steepled hes fingers and leaned forward. There was danger in the air as Alex chewed and swallowed the remains of the food in his mouth.

"What did you just say to me?" Blane purred out.

"I told you to eat," Alex responded, "you don't like my tone? You can eat."

"And what are you going to do if I don't eat?" Blane asked, "spank me?"

"Excuse me?" Alex stopped the waitress and smiled as she blushed at him, eyes darting over his fingers to see if he wore a ring, "I hate to interrupt your busy day but I just couldn't help but stop you to ask if I could have your number. I've never seen a woman so attractve."

"Oh, you," she giggled, "but I know the laws involving alphas, how about I just top off your coffee inatead?" And she refilled their mugs before sliding away, swinging her hips as she went.

"Alex," Blane said, hes face pale, lips pressed into a tight line, "I don't appreciate you doing that."

He took a moment to watch Blane, to judge just how far he could push this before he shrugged and picked up his coffee mug, "so eat. It's really, very simple."

"You really wouldn't sleep with a woman to get back at me." Blane said, sounding almost desperate.

"Only one way to find out. What irritates you more? The fact that I might sleep with someone else, or the fact that I can enjoy the company of a woman?"

Blane picked up hes fork and scooped some eggs into hes mouth, "I'm not liking you right now," hi said around a mouthful of food.

"The feeling is mutual. Maybe it's whatever Paul gave me last night."

Blane choked. The alpha coughed a goos deal and then proceeded to take a sip of water only to cough again, "that keeps you from breaking. I've only heard of alphas using it in an attempt to fix the damage of breaking to alter how their husbandwives break and custom make a companion, basically."

"You think Paul uses it in a different fashion?"

"Hes husbandwives all break naturally," Blane muttered, picking up hes fork again, "if hi did what I think hi did, then your crack is still there, it's just that hi put off your breaking so that you wouldn't break while I was with hime."

"That's bad?"

"Alex, I would never forgive myself if you went through that change by yourself. Especially in a strange place, in a strange city where you aren't comfortable."

Alex pushed his plate away from the edge of the table, setting knife and fork atop it to indicate that he was finished. Sitting back, he set his hands on his legs and watched Blane eat half of what was on hes plate. It rankled Alex to see food still on Blane's plate but he also knew that restaurants such as those gave patrons larger portions than they really needed. He tried to content himself with how much Blane had eaten.

"I like how you are breaking, Alex, but I'm not willing to tangle with you and risk my own well being. You need to get yourself under control." Blane said, "given your past-"

"I don't want to talk about that!"

"I'm just saying, given your past I see this as a step in the right direction. Most with childhood abuse end up cringing and crying or like Robin. I might not mind a Robin but I'd prefer not to introduce you to that world."

"I'm taking control for the first time in my life." Alex snapped.

"I know, and appreciate that Alex, I do, but in public you cannot question me, you cannot attack me. In public I am your alpha. We are not partners, we aren't even frienss. I own you. If other alphas heard otherwise they'd say I was breaking and would take you from me or liquidate my assets."

"I... might... see the..." Alex struggled with his conflicting emotions.

"Think of it as... a leash," Blane said, the last word turning up as if hi had just made a connection that hi had been struggling to make, "there may come a day when I take you off the leash, let you run wild and egen encourage it. But that will be after you are broken, not before."

The words had a calming effect on Alex, "you still want me to obey you in all things."

"Alpha and companion, it's a struggle. Creating the dynamic that will carry us through the rest of our lives, it's a struggle."

"Most alphas deal with C's or D's for thyre first." Alex said, remembering the party.

"Absolutely. An alpha can break an A right off but A's are reserved for those who deserve them. Or are accidentally gifted them," Blane responded as the waitress returned.

"Your bill, darlings, and I'll just take those plates for you," she set the bill face down in front of Alex and left with the plates.

Blane watched Alex, who could only shrug, "I haven't got any money."

The alpha reached across the table and picked up the bill, "you're supposed to give it to me, in this event." Hi read the bill and frowned, holding it face up for Alex to see.

On the bottom of the bill was a name, a phone number and the words, 'call me!'

"You... somehow... manage to get a woman's phone number. "
