Two chapters in less than five minutes! Go me! Since I had them written forever ago and everything...
Anyway, my story, my humans, my plot, my ideas, my mind, my right to throttle you if you steal any of, without my permission that is.
Anywho, I hope you enjoy this chapter. The next one will explain more about Ace and Edan, and a little bit more about what happened to Tran and Ace in their past.
ENJOY!

~~~~~~~~~~
They had been walking the better portion of the night. The sun was actually starting to come up by the time they finally stopped walking. They had made it to some strange sort of clearing that looked like someone had camped in it before. That meant that they were near another town. Dropping to the ground Gabriel took a deep breath, enjoying the feeling of not having to use his legs. Alexis sat next to him on a fallen tree and the others all took their places in random spots around the clearing. Elise walked over and sat by Edan, giving him a small smile.
"He'll be okay." Elise whispered to him. "He's strong."
"I fear more for the people who run into him." Edan whispered back. "Ace has a serious problem with lashing out at people."
There was an uneasiness between them all as they sat there. It was as if a damn was about to burst and this was their last moments before they got swept away into the torrent. "Well?" Brian asked Tran, who was still standing, leaning against a tree nearly hidden in shadows. "What the fuck was all that about huh? I wasn't expecting to see you, of all people, all of a sudden loose your cool like that."
Tran crossed his arms over his chest and stared at the ground. "Ace and I...we know each other from a long time ago. Back when all our parents were still alive." that one sent a hush over all of them. "I think...I think I was seven when Ace and I met. The government had promised our fathers that they would keep our families safe by giving us new homes and new names." he lowered his gaze. "We moved to the city, and we were neighbors.
"They lied to us. Not two months into our new lives and those men came back for us. For Ace and me. They took us to some strange...I dunno...it was like a lab." the darkness seemed to be wrapping further around him. Just like it did when something threatened him. Like it had a mind of its own. "They gave us those markings, the one that Ace showed you. Like a brand so if we ever got out they would know who we were no matter what."
Alexis's eyes shifted to Gabriel seeing something shine out of the corner of his eye. Gabriel was crying. "I don't remember that much. I just remember that they did so many strange things to us. Ace's father came for him...when we were nine. I don't know how or why but Carol was there. I just remember Carol yelling at his father telling him that if he wanted to get Ace out of there then he needed to do it then. That there was no other time. That if he didn't save Ace then...things would get worse.
"So he did..." Tran looked up at the sky. "He walked right up and pulled Ace up by his arms, hugging him. The next thing I remember is watching Ace's father fall to the ground...gasping for air as if there was none." he closed his eyes. "Ace blames Carol for the death of his father. Blames her for making his father come to him when he was telling his father to stay away." he looked at the rest of them. "He doesn't like what he is. He's made himself strong and knows what he's doing but he hates it and that's because of that place."
"What did they do to you there?" Edan asked him. "What could they have done to you both to make you so...shut off?"
Tran smirked, though it went unseen by the rest of them. "You would of had to be there to know exactly what happened. Exactly what we felt."
It was silent after that. "Gab?" Alexis whispered, setting his hand on Gabriel's shoulder. "You okay Gabi?"
"Fine." Gabriel wiped his tears away and smiled at Alexis. "Just...a sad story is all."
A laugh came from Tran and he stepped out into the morning sunlight. "Come on. Lets keep moving."
"Tran." Elise said as Edan groaned and leaned against him. "Maybe it would be better if we rested for a while huh? We've been walking almost all night."
The older guy rolled his eyes and turned. "Fine. I'm gonna go look around."
Edan closed his eyes and rubbed his eyes. "You can go after him if you want." he muttered sleepily. "I know you want to."
"Yeah." Elise agreed and stood. "I'll be back."
Slipping into the forest after Tran, Elise walked along the dark path. "Beautiful isn't it?" he heard Tran's voice from his right and he turned his head. "The sunrise." he was sitting on a fallen tree. "I still remember...the day that I left that place...the sun was just rising."
Walking over Elise sat by Tran. "Nothing is going to be the same ever again is it?" he was staring at the ground. "I knew we shouldn't have come. I knew that we should have just stayed back and not come. Everything is going to be different." he looked up at Tran. "I don't want everything to change Tran."
"Sometimes things have to change Elise." Tran told him. "That's just how life is."
"Promise me this wont." Elise grabbed Tran's hand and brought it up to his heart. "Your promise me Tran. Please. Everything else around me is changing and I don't think I could handle it if this changed."
Tran pulled his hand from Elise and a hurt look crossed Elise's face. "If there is ever one thing in this world that would never changed." he cupped Elise's chin and brought their lips together. "It's this." a small smile crossed Elise's face. "Look at this." Tran laughed and brushed hair from Elise's face. "You makin' me all sentimental and shit."
Elise pushed himself up and kissed Tran softly again. "What can I say, I have a bad habit of melting ice." they both smiled and Elise touched Tran's face softly, getting serious. "Those scars..." he set a hand on Tran's chest. "Those men did that to you didn't they?"
"Most of them." Tran nodded. "I got some of them just being the cocky bastard that I am but most of them are from that place yeah." he kissed Elise again. "I don't want them to catch us cause I don't want them to hurt you like they hurt me. I don't want you to have to go through all that."
"I trust you." Elise whispered and they kissed again, this one more passionate. "We'll make it through this."
Tran kissed Elise and set a hand on the side of his head, running his thumb over Elise's cheek. He slid off the log so he was in front of Elise on his knees. He smiled softly and brought Elise's hand up, kissing his palm softly. "Hush." Tran got up onto his knees and kissed Elise softly. "No need to talk now Elise."
Elise gasped as Tran pulled him onto the ground with him. They were now both on their knees and staring into each other's eyes. "I need you." Elise whispered as Tran ran a hand through his hair. "Always."
"Always." Tran kissed Elise, pulling him close as Elise wrapped his arms around the guy's neck. "I'm right here Elise. Always."
"Mmm." Elise pulled away a little and Tran looked at him confused. "We're in the forest Tran...don't even think about it."
The man kissed the boy again and looked into his eyes. "I love you."
Elise felt his breath catch in his throat and he threw his arms around Tran kissing him hard. They fell backwards and continued to kiss. Someone cleared their throat and the two looked up from where they lay and froze. There was a man in a black uniform standing there. Scratch that. There were five of those men in black standing there.
"Fuck..." Tran hissed and the two stood quickly, Tran standing in front of Elise to protect him. "Don't fuck with me. You'd be better just going on your way cause you will not enjoy the death I give you."
The man in front laughed and took off his hat. "Calm down. We're not here to start problems. No need to worry. My name is Captain Harold McDre. We're from the FBI."
"Transient." he introduced himself. "And this is Elise. What are you doing out here? I can't think that you would all just be having a nice little walk."
"It's a drill actually." the man told them. "You happened to wander right into our training ground."
Elise pulled on Tran's sleeve. "Lets get back to the others and get going okay?"
The man held his hand up before the two could leave. "Hey wait. You two look like you could use a place to stay, clean clothes, maybe some food. Get your friends and we'll take you back to the camp with us. No problem."
"What do you want in return?" Tran asked wearily.
"Nothing." The man answered. "Just offering a warm place to stay for a while."
Tran looked back at Elise. "What do you say?"
Elise stared at the men. "They seem fine." he looked up at Tran. "And I am really super hungry."
The men smiled and Harold motioned for them to follow him. "Come on. We'll go find your friends and head back to the camp."
"You trust them?" Tran whispered to Elise as they followed the men. "No bad feelings?"
They heard a gunshot and took off running past the men. When they entered the clearing they found all of their friends sitting there wondering what the hell was going on. The FBI agents came into the clearly after them and they all jumped up.
"No." Elise said seeing their faces. "They want to help us. They said that we can have a place to stay!"
"Captain!" one of the men came running into the clearing. "Captain there's been an accident." a few more men came into the clearing, helping another man walk. It looked as if he had been shot in the leg. "He needs medical attention Captain."
Gabriel looked at Harold. "You are willing to help us?" he nodded his head. "They I shall help you." walking over he looked at the man. "Don't move."
A warm glow began to come from Gabriel. Reaching down he set his hand over the man's wound and closed his eyes. The men just stared at Gabriel as he opened his eyes. It was truly an amazing sight. Gabriel looked like an angel. His eyes were practically glowing white and the light around him made him look almost unreal.
"Amazing." Harold breathed as Gabriel pulled his hand away, revealing nothing but slightly dirty skin. "That was just..." he looked over at Tran. "What are you all?"
The wind picked up and Edan turned, looking behind them into the forest. "It's not him." Elise said. "You need to stop thinking about it Edan."
"It's him..." Edan argued softly. "Somethings wrong..." he looked back at the others. "I'd know that feeling anywhere. I know what he feels like and somethings wrong."
Elise looked back at Tran. "What do you want to do?"
Tran sighed and walked up to Edan. "We'll meet you back at the camp. After we go figure out what the fuck is wrong with Ace."
"Tran..." Elise said but the two vanished into the darkness. He stood there a moment before looking back at the rest of them. "Well, you heard him. Lets get back there before they do."
They began to walk, following the FBI agenst, and it was really quiet. The men in front of them were talking quietly to one another but other than that there was no conversation. Gabriel could sense the tension in Elise. He knew that feeling. He knew how it felt to worry about someone so much that it made you sick every time they left.
Glancing over at Alexis he laced his hand with the older guy's. Alexis looked over and gave him a small smile. Behind them Christopher and Brian walked silently. Brian slid an arm around Christopher's shoulders, pulling him close. Christopher leaned his head against Brian's shoulder as they walked.
"All of this is so strange." Christopher muttered. "Ever since my mother died everything has just been going down hill and then...then I met all of you and things just immediately seemed better. Even when we are in danger things just seem better now that you are all here." he looked up at Brian. "Now that you are here."
Brian smiled and leaned down, kissing Christopher softly. "I think our only problem right now is this Ace guy and his issues." he looked up and his eyes shifted a little. "And the things that one of us is hiding."
Christopher looked over to where Brian was looking. "You think that it's something bad?"
"It has to be." Brian answered. "He's completely shut it out. Even I can't get in there to see what it is. Every time I try I get a headache that would make satan himself cringe."
"Maybe it's better we leave it alone." Christopher suggested. "He'll tell us if he really wants us to know."
Brian nodded. "I'm just afraid is all. God only knows what it is if he's put up those barriers."
To continue...not to continue...that is the question.
