The Lady or The Tiger
At last a new chapter posted, I am so sorry for being awary for so long. Oh if only I can live a life of leisure and do nothing but write my story. I had such a hard time trying to complete this chapter, each time I sat at my computer nothing would come out and I end up playing Farmville on Facebook. (by the way it is very addicting, stay away from it)
For some reason I was not really feeling this chapter and I may end up editing later on, but I just had to finish it and post it. I'm so sorry if it is lacking, but I just wanted you all to know that I am still here plugging away. Maybe I had a bout of writer's block? Oh who knows, but my characters were just not coorperating with me and it felt like pulling teeth.
I hope that I have not lost anyone's interest and beg you all for your patience and forgiveness. And I will do my best not to keep you waiting too long for the next chapter. Which might be easier since my characters are now back showing me where to go next.
So without further ado I give you my next installment of Jaden.
Please read and review: I hope you find this chapter enjoyable.
Chapter 39
(The Lady or the Tiger)
“Hello?”
She stood five feet one; thick shiny hair cascaded down framing her lovely face with loose curls past her shoulders down to her waist and big brown eyes with gold flecks to match golden highlights in her warm brown hair.
She has a petite slender body with full breast, a small waistline and ample hips. Ruby red lips with peaches and cream complexion, she is Aphrodite and Venus. She is the girl next door, the woman men die for and other women love to hate and would do anything to look like her.
She is truly a vision to behold and Jaden is captivated, and yet, he fears her. Perhaps it is her aura, the power so thick in the air he could cut it with a knife. He listened to his brother and breathed in slowly and it helped to calm his nerves.
She sees Adrian and claps her little hands, skipping towards him. She stops in front of him, a big smile on her lips.
“Oh Adrian, what a lovely surprise! Philippe will be thrilled when he sees you.”
Jaden watches the peculiar woman twirl around like an excited little child, red satin slippers on her small feet with ribbons tied around her ankles. A diamond tiara on her head and a lavender frilly lacy dress with little red roses embroidered on the edge of her skirt.
A full grown woman who appears to be in her late twenties in human years and is dressed like a little princess, a child. She is excited to see Adrian and is jumping up and down, only to stop and scold him, pointing her finger at him.
“For shame Adrian, you have been away for so long. Please do not tell me you are in a hurry and cannot stay. I will not be pleased.”
She puts her hands on her hips and stomps her foot for emphasis, her lower lip pouting as she bats her thick lashes at him.
Jaden almost laughed at her childlike manner, and Adrian smiled down at her reaching out from between the bars to caress her face.
“Forgive me my darling princess, for each day I am away it truly saddens me.”
This pleases her so much she reaches up to him for a hug, but then stops when she sees Master Ignatius lying on the floor behind him. Her eyes narrow and she stares up at Adrian, tilting her head to one side. Adrian is unable to determine if she is angry or merely curious.
“Why is Master Ignatius lying on the floor, does he not know that it will ruin his clothes?”
Before Adrian can say anything, both he and Jaden are caught off guard when another voice answers her question.
“It appears our master is napping Princess.”
The lovely woman, Adrian and Jaden all turned towards the soft voice. This new vampire slowly walked towards them, his deep blue eyes scanning the room and taking in Ignatius condition to stare at Adrian.
He is strikingly handsome, with black hair the same as Jaden only cut in soft layers to frame his face. With one finger over his lips, he smiles at the delicate women. There is love in his eyes as he whispers to her.
“Ssssh we must not make too much noise my darling, or we will awaken the master.”
The petite woman covers her mouth with one hand, smiling at the tall vampire she ducks her head and raises her shoulders trying to silent her soft giggles.
“My goodness Philippe yes and a grumpy master is not amusing.” She winks knowingly as she nods towards Ignatius.
Philippe embraced the lovely woman and kissed her on the forehead, she giggled remembering to keep her voice low. She took his hand and directed his attention to Adrian and Jaden.
“Look Philippe, look who is here. Is it not wonderful to be together again? We can have a tea party with my children.”
Both Philippe and Adrian looked into each other’s eyes, Jaden saw sadness in their eyes and he could not help and wonder why. Everyone turned towards the female beauty as she approached the bars to take a closer look at Jaden. It almost made him feel like being in a zoo, and it made him a little nervous to be studied so closely.
“Ohhh pretty, your eyes shine like emeralds. I like emeralds, I like diamonds too. See my crown, I am Princess Alarica.” She announced with great pride and then started to giggle.
Jaden held back a giggle himself as her laughter was infectious; such an exquisite beauty. But there was something not quite right about her, at least what he thought should be. He watched her as she talked to the taller vampire. Her little hands waving about, so animated in the way she expressed herself.
She reminded him of a little girl, excited in her story telling and almost hopping excitedly as she kept telling Philippe that Adrian is here with them.
“Make him stay longer this time Philippe, promise to make him stay longer?” she whined.
Jaden frowned and looked at Adrian wondering if he felt that something was a little off about the woman as well, instead he could see that his brother looked at her with love in his eyes. Jaden returned his attention back to the woman who introduced herself as Princess Alarica.
And it dawned on him; the princess is not crazy she is a woman with the mind of a child. As soon as he thought of it Jaden knew in his heart that it was true, and the realization of this little truth saddened him. How is it possible Jaden thought to himself, why would anyone take this childlike woman and make her a vampire? What sick twisted mind thought this would be a good idea?
He found himself liking her very much, she was absolutely adorable as Alarica started to prance around the room, clapping her hands begging Philippe for all of them to go upstairs and play. Jaden was impressed with Philippe’s patience and with the endearing way he handled his little princess.
“Hush my little darling; remember we do not want to disturb our master’s slumber, now do we?”
Alarica stopped her silly antics when Philippe placed his hands on her shoulders to calm her down; she smiled, nodding her head vigorously.
“I forgot.” She whispered, and went on her tippy toes to kiss him on his nose.
“Please Philippe, do ask them to stay. I miss Adrian so much and I want his brother to meet my children and we can have a lovely tea party together. Please Philippe, please, please.” Alarica begged in her little girl’s voice knowing it will make Philippe give in to her.
Philippe smiled, he loved Alarica with all of his soul and knew she was so excited to see Adrian again. But now was not the time for a family reunion, he sensed fear, anger and confusion from the youngest vampire with Adrian, and he needed to understand why without alarming his little darling. With his right hand he motioned towards the cell getting Alarica to focus.
“In due time princess, right now I would like to see what I can do to help them get out.”
Alarica’s eyes widened with understanding and nodded her head as she waived her delicate hand at Philippe, like royalty dispatching him to his task. She stepped back to get out of his way, and began humming a soft tune to herself, closing her eyes swaying from side to side lost in her own fantasy.
Philippe looked back to Adrian and then at Jaden, he could not help but look at his master. Adrian assured him that Ignatius was not harmed; he could see a questioning look in Philippe’s eyes when he turned towards Jaden.
“Jaden Drakar` blood bonded mate to Marcus Drakar`” answered Adrian, he could not help to keep the worry out of his voice as he made the simple and quick introduction to Philippe.
It has been years since he last saw Philippe, and at that time their reunion had been interrupted by Ignatius ending their brief visit badly for both of them. Adrian felt horrible he was sure Ignatius punished Philippe for seeing him, and since then he had not been able to talk with him.
Adrian always blamed himself for it and he was afraid that Philippe may feel the same way by the look he gave him now. Philippe’s eyes looked hard, cold as he glared at his master, there was anger mixed in with pain in that look.
“I am sorry Adrian, I had no idea this room existed. We have not been here for almost fifty years.”
Adrian noted a tone of disappointment in his voice, believing it was meant for him. At last Philippe tore his eyes away from Ignatius sleeping form and focused his attention on the bars. Adrian leaned up against the bars and touched Philippe’s hand, looking up into his deep blue eyes.
Nothing was said between them as Jaden watched silently; it seemed their eyes said it all. From the side of his peripheral vision he caught some movement.
Alarica poked her head out from behind Philippe and waived to Jaden, she made a funny face at him and then went back to her humming and dancing. She almost made him forget where he was and the mess they are in.
They were unable to figure out how to open the bars, and so Philippe decided to short circuit the keypad to see if that would do the trick. Just as he was going to pull the faceplate off, a soft hum sounded and three bars slowly began to sink into the floor leaving two feet showing above ground.
Philippe, Adrian and Jaden all looked at each other in surprise wondering what the other did to lower the bars. They all turned towards Alarica hearing her giggle, still trying not to make too much noise so the master can continue with his nap.
“Alarica?” Asked Philippe, “Did you open the cell for me?”
Alarica smiled and curtsied, “Yes Philippe, I wanted to help and we cannot play if they do not come out. But the bars were in the way so I wished them open.” She wiggled her nose as an afterthought, “I think I wished them open, ahh well it is done. Can we have a tea party now?”
Philippe hugged Alarica and tilted her chin up with his finger to have her look up at him.
“A good princess must take care of the needs of her devoted friends, have you not noticed they are in need of proper clothing?”
As if seeing them for the very first time, Alarica took in the condition of their ruined suits.
“Oh what a sad shame, really Adrian you should know better when you travel, such fine suits is simply not durable for a long journey to our villa.” She scolded.
“Perhaps you can find them something to wear, do you mind going to my suite and look into my closet? Ask Aaron to help you and meet us in the back den upstairs.”
Alarica’s smile can melt an iceberg, there was nothing in the world she would not do for Philippe and always happy to help him. She curtsied like a proper princess and adjusted her tiara, then skipped over the stairs.
“Do not go anywhere, I will return with something wonderful for the both of you.”
Philippe called out to Alarica as she started up the steps, to Jaden it looked more like she was gliding over
the stairs.
“My princess, remember go quietly we will wait for you upstairs. Now hurry along, I believe Adrian and Jaden have an appointment and they must be on time.”
Alarica sighed, not understanding why other matters always got in the way of a good tea party and fun games to play. However she is an excellent princess and will see to their needs.
As soon as Alarica was gone and out of hearing range, both Adrian and Jaden stepped over the bars and out of the cell, leaving a comatose master vampire behind. As far as Jaden was concerned they could not get far enough away from him.
Adrian almost ran to Philippe but stopped, he felt awkward not sure of how he would be received. He was soon put at ease when Philippe stepped closer to him, one hand caressing the side of his left cheek. His eyes no longer had that hard look, it was replaced with concern.
“Adrian I am so sorry, are you hurt?”
Adrian shook his head and assured Philippe he was fine, Jaden was not sure what was going on and he didn’t know if this Philippe could be trusted. After all it is quite clear that Ignatius is his master and that they are in his territories. Seeing Philippe and Adrian embrace still gave him little comfort.
They held on to each other, and Adrian’s body released the tension he was feeling as Philippe hugged him harder.
“Please forgive me, I am so sorry.” They both spoke at the same time, they stepped back holding each other at arm’s length, remembering their shared past and pain.
“Adrian I do not understand, did Ignatius bring you here?”
Seeing the look in Adrian’s eyes confirmed it and Philippe looked away, he didn’t know what to do at this moment. He told Adrian that after all these years he believed that Ignatius had finally accepted that Adrian would never return to his house.
For almost a hundred years it appeared that Ignatius no longer cared about Adrian, and his name never came up again. Especially after he and Adrian had gotten together in London, which was the last time they saw each other and he missed Adrian so much.
Philippe blamed himself, in the past few years Ignatius was not his usual self. He should have paid more attention and he should have insisted on what if anything was bothering his master. Adrian hugged Philippe and reminded him that when Ignatius got something in his head there was no holding him back.
“Had I known, I, I would have stopped him. Adrian please, forgive me, I do not…”
Philippe ran his hands through his hair pulling it away from his face and stared at his master again, there was so much anger now and frustration. A blood bonded mate, two blood bonded mates that Ignatius has somehow managed to take by force and imprison them here.
That damn fool would destroy his own house just to have his way. Sometimes Philippe did not understand his master’s way of thinking, he turned away from the pathetic sight and hugged Adrian again. He wondered how badly all of this was going to turn out, and what he needed to do to keep Ignatius’s house intact.
Adrian looked up into Philippe’s eyes, he felt horrible to tell him that his mate Victor will confront Ignatius and demand that Ignatius himself answer for his actions.
“How you do suppose Ignatius took us Philippe? Not one of us sensed his presence.”
Philippe’s eyebrows pinched in confusion, he shook his head as he glared at his master, “That is, it is impossible, we can always sense another if we pay attention to our surroundings.”
It was Jaden who stepped forward, his words dripping with anger as he pointed his finger at the master vampire.
“Well that fucker came out of nowhere, and here we are. If you know how he did it you better tell us. Because that piece of shit almost…”
Philippe took offense and snarled at Jaden; he made a move towards him when Adrian forced himself in between the two angry men trying to keep them apart.
“Stop it!” he ordered, “This is not the place nor do we have the time for such nonsense. Philippe please, he is my brother and I love him as I love you.”
Philippe looked into Adrian’s eyes, feeling the truth within his words, he stepped back in silent agreement but he and Jaden never looked away as they dared each other to make a move.
Adrian admonished Jaden with his eyes, which surprised him. But he nodded in understanding and finally softened his expression, only to glare back at Philippe when Adrian was not looking.
Adrian tilted his head to the side as if he had eyes in the back of his head, “Jaden, behave yourself. Philippe is not the enemy.”
Having been caught Jaden shrugged his shoulders and crossed his arms waiting to hear what Philippe had to say. It pissed him off that Philippe actually had the nerve to smile at him, as if taunting him. A small sound of disgust escaped his lips before he could stop it.
Adrian sighed; he needed to get Jaden out of here and as far away from this house as soon as possible. He could tell that the young man was wound up tight and it was not like him to be so bold and quick tempered.
In the short period of time he spent learning about Jaden, he has come to understand that his younger brother is truly a gentle soul; it was his fear and hunger that drove him to be more aggressive. Love is also a big factor, for Jaden wore his emotions on his sleeve and Adrian understood his younger brother’s desire to protect him.
Jaden was in a precarious position as his emotions made him vulnerable; he allowed his heart rather than his mind to drive him towards an unsafe path. Adrian could not let Jaden act aggressively towards Philippe, only because Philippe was too much like Jaden.
Philippe adored Adrian and would do anything in his power to protect him, if Jaden pushed him too far Adrian feared the outcome. That is why it would benefit them all to put a great deal of distance between them. Perhaps under different circumstances they could become friends, but now, now what they needed was to get out of here.
Sensing Adrian’s concern, Philippe calmed himself. Deciding that the young fledging with Adrian was too young to understand his actions, and since he is the oldest and more experienced of the two he softened his own expression and slightly bowed his head towards Adrian.
“Do not fear my darling, I will not harm your new little brother.” Philippe gently caressed Adrian’s face, and smiled. “I give you my word, and I will ensure that you and Jaden are safely away from here.”
Adrian breathed a sigh of relief; he thanked him and hugged Philippe kissing him on the lips.
Jaden felt a little relief as well when Philippe began to lead them both up the stairs, as they moved farther away from the master vampire, Jaden’s nerves seemed to relax with each step they took towards freedom.
Once they reached the top step, they walked down a long dark corridor about twenty feet and stopped while Philippe opened a heavy wooden door. There was another flight of steps leading up and one more door to open.
They came out into a large open room, oval shaped with floor to ceiling windows and panoramic views of the outside gardens. Jaden could see that the house was built high on a cliff overlooking the ocean below. The night looked brighter with the full moon glistening on the waters; in the garden he could see a beautiful assortment of Winter Daphne, there was cream, pink and yellow blooms.
If it weren’t for gruesome napping below in the secret room, Jaden would have loved to go exploring. He turned his attention to the door they had come out of and noticed the door was part of the wall. It blended quite nicely with the décor of the fabric wallpaper. Once closed, the door seem to disappear, you would be hard pressed to find the opening.
The room itself was sparsely furnished and it was still covered with sheets, the heels of their shoes lightly tapped on shiny black and white marbled floors. The moonlight shimmered across the floors and reflected off the mirrors on the opposite walls. Wild rose vines were etched into the glass, giving the appearance of an enormous framed mirror.
Jaden was a little startled, when he caught his reflection in the mirror. He almost did not recognize himself, he looked like he went over 12 rounds with Vitali Klitschko*. He cringed at his appearance, he hated being dirty and would give anything for a nice hot bath and clean clothes.
If Philippe told the truth, that he had no idea the room below existed, then Jaden could only credit their rescue to Alarica’s curiosity. Perhaps she saw Ignatius enter the doorway and later followed, and Jaden could not help but wonder how much Philippe did know.
Whereas Philippe was concerned he knew he should thread lightly, but he was hungry and angry with the way Ignatius treated them. He wanted answers; Jaden could not believe that Philippe would be clueless; he did not strike him as a man to be oblivious to his surroundings.
“So whose house is this?” Jaden asked. As they walked out of the grand ball room heading towards the back of the villa and walked into a small parlor, it was more like a cozy den.
Philippe shrugged his shoulders, “This villa has been in my family for over 500 years.” He turned towards Jaden and said.
“I was born on this island, over a thousand years ago.”
Jaden frowned, feeling stupid. Philippe said, “The land belonged to my family, over the years it has passed through many hands, then years later it was back in my family. The villa was built shortly after the land was safely in my family’s name.”
“Island?” Jaden looked out the window he could tell it was cold outside, there was a light frost on the window panes and of course they seemed to be surrounded by water, the Atlantic Ocean as far as the eye could see.
“You said island, exactly where are we?” Jaden had never been outside of New York, he thought that maybe they ended up somewhere in Long Island.
Philippe smiled, “My home is on a small island just south of France.”
Jaden spun around staring at Philippe and Adrian; he was shocked to learn that Ignatius was able to bring them here.
“France! You mean like not in the United States? Holy Crap! That bastard!” Jaden’s anger started to escalate. Adrian put his arms around him trying to keep him calm.
“That son of bitch has some nerve bringing us here; who the hell does he think he is?” Jaden demanded.
Philippe’s eyes narrowed as he spoke softly to Jaden, but there was no denying the cold anger in his words.
“Guard your temper little one, I will not tolerate your insults towards our master.”
“Fuck your master!” Jaden shouted in return. He was so angry his body trembled; he glared daggers at Philippe letting him know that he would not be intimated by him.
For Adrian’s sake, Philippe controlled his emotions. What he really wanted to do was take Jaden over his knee and spank some respect into him. For Adrian’s sake he chose to remain still and just let Jaden vent.
Without realizing what he was doing, Jaden pulled away from Adrian’s embrace almost pushing him back.
“I can’t believe you would back that crazy bastard” Jaden practically spit out his words.
“Do you have any idea what he did, what he almost did to Adrian? Jaden’s voice cracked at the end unable to continue.
“Jaden, please.” Adrian tried to soothe Jaden’s anger.
“He tried, he tried to hurt Adrian. And you stand there telling me to show respect for your master?”
Adrian wrapped his arms around his younger brother and held him close, this time he was prepared to hold on to him in case he tried to push him away. Jaden did not fight Adrian’s hold; he looked back at Philippe.
“I don’t get it, why would you want to respect that bastard?”
Philippe never moved and stood so still it was like looking at a statue. His deep blue eyes gave nothing away as he spoke softly in reply.
“He is a master vampire, he is my master and he is master of his own house. I am sure by now you are aware of the responsibilities a master vampire takes upon themselves, since you yourself are blood bonded to a master.”
Jaden made a face of disgust, “Your master is nothing like mine, don’t even compare them”
Philippe merely shrugged his shoulders, “As I was saying, because he is master of the house. My lord Ignatius is entitled to be acknowledged of what he is and should be shown the proper respect.”
Jaden made a crude remark and laughed, “So what, he’s a master of his house. Big fucking deal, the way I see it he hasn’t done anything so far to show me why he should be respected.”
Adrian shook Jaden by the shoulders to make him stop, “Enough Jaden, Philippe is helping us and I will not allow you to attack him.”
It was Philippe who spoke up before Jaden could react to Adrian’s words.
“I do not fully understand what has taken place here; I assure you that I will make every effort to correct any misunderstandings.”
Philippe took in a deep breath, suddenly he looked tired. “On behalf of the house, I do apologize and for now there is nothing that can be done about it.”
The air seemed to get thick and heavy, Philippe nodded as if someone asked him something. “Alarica will be here shortly, I suggest we dispense with this argument for now.”
Placing his hand on Jaden’s shoulder, Philippe smiled down at him. “You are very young little one, and it will take time for you to fully understand our ways. When you have changed into the new clothing my Alarica has brought you I will take you and Adrian far away from this house and you will be safe.”
Alarica strode into the room, her delicate arms filled with new clothing for Adrian and Jaden to wear. She was closely followed by a taller vampire who was also carrying coats and other items in his arms.
Princess Alarica giggled as she was made to turn her back on the two younger men as they changed into the clothes, Jaden grimaced, he really wished he could take a hot bath.
Alarica smiled and clapped her hands once Adrian and Jaden had finished dressing. “Oh I am so delighted to see that everything fits so well.”
“Yeah it’s perfect, thanks your highness.” Jaden smiled as he smooth down his sweater with his hands, noticing that it was dark green with dark gray wool slacks. He smiled shyly at her as he continued to make any adjustments to the clothes.
Alarica pulled a hair brush from her pocket and began to comb Jaden’s hair, she whispered to him as she worked. “I picked green for you, I like the way it matches with your eyes.”
She then turned towards Adrian and started to comb his hair, there was sadness in her voice as she pulled his hair back tying it into a loose ponytail with a velvet cord.
“I have missed you very much Adrian, please promise to stay longer the next time you visit.”
Jaden watched as Adrian hugged the beautiful women, there was love there. Nothing sexual, it is just a genuine affection between them. This was Adrian’s first family as a vampire until he left with Victor.
He turned towards Philippe and walked closer to him, he kept his voice low and his lips barely moved as he spoke. A soft murmur of words meant only for Philippe’s ears.
“He’s crazy, you know that don’t you? Your master is up to something; even I know that taking a blood bonded mate away by force opens the door for a lot of trouble. And you tell me to respect him? My mate and his brother are masters of their own house. They have respect because they earned it and would never put their house on the line.”
Philippe remained silent, he stood there watching Adrian and Alarica talk to each other. How he missed seeing them together, he missed Adrian making Alarica laugh. He missed the easy way they connected and most of all he missed his younger brother.
Since Adrian left their house under the conditions he was forced in, he always felt an empty spot in his soul. He missed his brother, his friend. It was because of Ignatius that they bonded and became so close. If only things could be different, if only he could have Adrian back in his life again then he could feel whole again. Yes he sighed softly, if only.
He sighed as he turned towards Jaden, “You may not believe me young one, but my master can be a kind and caring man, and he would not be so foolish to bring you and Adrian here without cause.”
Jaden stared into the deep blue eyes and saw no deceit the man truly believed what he said; he shook his head sadly realizing the truth. “You love him.” he stated, still keeping his voice low.
Philippe remained silent again, and he smiled when Alarica ran up to him tugging at his sleeve.
“Please Philippe” she pouted, “Can you make them stay with us? I miss our darling Adrian and I want him to stay.”
Both Philippe and Adrian looked at each other, they did miss each other and poor Alarica was not making it easy for them. They knew that right now Adrian and Jaden had to leave before Ignatius woke up. No one, especially
Jaden wanted to hang around to find out how the master would react.
Philippe embraced Alarica, resting his chin on the top of her head. With his left hand he lovingly stroked her hair as he spoke softly to her.
“shhh, my darling princess. I promise you the day will come when we can all spend time together, however, for now they need to leave. They are blood bonded, and I am sure their mates are worried and miss them very much. Surely you would not want me to keep them apart, do you?”
Alarica looked up and blinked her eyes rapidly; it seemed that her mind was processing Philippe’s words. Then she smiled sadly and shook her head as she hugged him back.
“Oh no Philippe, I would not want to do that. I would be so unhappy if someone tried to take you away from me.”
She then ran into Adrian’s arms and hugged him, “Please forgive me Adrian, sometimes I wished you belonged to us only. But I am pleased that you have found love and you should be with your mate.”
Jaden was pleasantly surprised when Alarica hugged him, “I am so happy to meet you, do come back with Adrian, we can have a lovely time together.” leaning in she whispered, “I do so wish to know you better.”
Alarica hugged and kissed them both, she then walked over to the tall vampire and took his hand. She curtsied as any fine young lady would do and smiled.
“If you will excuse me gentlemen, Aaron and I have a tea party to attend. And as any good princess knows, she must not keep her loyal subjects waiting.” She bowed her head towards Adrian and Jaden.
“I will miss you terribly Adrian, my heart aches each time you leave. But I look forward to the future when our House and Drakar` House are joined.”
She curtsied once more and then allowed Aaron to escort her out of the room; Jaden turned inquisitive eyes towards Philippe and asked. “When our houses are joined, what did she mean by that?”
Philippe merely nodded his head, “You must realize by now Jaden that my little princess is not always in the right frame of mind, it is perhaps, wishful thinking on her part.”
Once Alarica and her escort was out of sight, Jaden pick up where he left off.
“You love him? I can’t believe you love that bas…that, that idiot downstairs”
Philippe’s eyes narrowed and quickly turned away, it did not escape Jaden’s mind to see a hint of painful emotion in his eyes. He also felt bad that his brother Adrian once again had to scold him.
“Jaden please, it is unfair to treat Philippe so harshly. He is only trying to help; please do not treat him that way.”
Jaden took Adrian’s hands in his, he was making his brother worry for his safety and the last thing he wanted to do was make him feel worse then he already did.
“I’m sorry Adrian, I’m not making excuses but I’m scared and I just want to get the hell out of here.”
He heard Philippe clear his throat, he turned around to see him make a motion with his hand to lead them out of the room.
“Then it is best that we do not waste time please, take your coats and follow me outside.” Before Jaden or Adrian could response, Philippe turned his back to them and walked out of the room.

For some reason I was not really feeling this chapter and I may end up editing later on, but I just had to finish it and post it.
