Christian stood at the entrance to the massive hall, looking at what could only be described as a throne. Sitting upon it was a man wearing black robes and holding a large staff of gold.
“I see you even managed to kill one of the mighty dragons. I am not surprised that my wife picked you as her champion, I wonder if it was because that you lost that girl” the wizard grinned happily at the thought.
Christian slowly walked further in to the hall, massive pillars were holding up the high rising ceiling. The pure white marble shined from the sunlight coming through the tall widows.
“I didn’t kill the dragon and neither did the dragon kill my mate, in fact she dubbed me to be her last dragon knight”
The grin quickly faded away from the wizards face when he learned that the dragon had turned against him. “I will crush her precious eggs for this!” he stood up and walked down the stairs that was part of the elevated throne.
Christian stopped and looked at the man who was rapidly moving towards him, he held up his hand in a ‘stop’ manner.
“I wouldn’t bother, her eggs is no longer in your care. I was amused by your guards who protected them, but in the end we liberated them from your care. They should be back to their mother by now” he grinned at the wizards expense, the look on his face alone was worth the trip here.
The wizard was clearly angered by it and stomped his staff on to the marble floor, energies rippled through the air like a rock tossed into a pond. As the ripple came closer to Christian, he braced himself for it, but the energies just splashed against him like water onto the shore. The wizard arched an eyebrow at the display and was surprised. So far no one he had encountered could brush off his magic like water on a goose back.
Christian looked up his arms crossed and looked around and shrugged.
“Was that all?”
Before he could react, the wizard pointed his staff at the creature before him. A white ball was quickly formed and shot from the end of it, as it traveled over the floor; a trace of ice was forming on it. The ball hit Christian dead on and it froze him in an instant.
“No, this is just the beginning” the wizard said as he moved up to the block of ice that now held Christian in place. Laughter escaped him as he now stood an arm’s length from the block of ice. He charged his staff, arcs of electricity could be seen escaping the end of it and he placed the end of it against the ice. A shockwave pushed the wizard back against one of the pillars. He looked up in shock at were the block of ice ones was.
Christian shook off the remains of the ice from his shoulders and looked at the wizard. “Oooo” he shook slightly again as if he was getting tingling sensations. “That felt Gooooood” he extended the ‘o’s to give some effect. The wizard looked very surprised at Christian who was brushing himself off. “But you know what? I can play with the elements too”
Christian drew a deep breath and blew a massive amount of fire at the wizard who was using his staff to erect a defensive field to keep the fire back. When Christian stopped throwing fire at his target, the wizard looked even more surprised than before. He could not understand where this mortal could have attained this power.
The wizard knew one spell that worked last time on him, a paralyzing spell and with a few flicks of the wrist, a bright light came from his hand. Christian stood totally silent, not moving one muscle, looking aimlessly into nothingness. The wizard laughed as he walked up to what would appear to be a paralyzed Christian. He held his staff high and swung it.
The staff stopped inches before hitting Christian over the head, the thing that had stopped it was in fact Christian himself as he held the staff with his right hand. With ease he pulled the staff out of the wizard’s hands and broke it in half.
“I can see now that magic won’t be the tool to kill you. I just have to do it in a more direct approach” the wizard held out his hands and caught two swords that came flying from nowhere. Christian changed his form to there were, now standing a great deal taller than the wizard. They stood silent and waited; sizing each other up, the fire was still burning in the fabric that decorated the great hall.
After a good while the wizard charged and Christian was ready to grab the swords by the edge, knowing he could not be harmed by any man made weapon. To his surprise both the blades impaled his paws all the way to the hilt as he howled in pain, he quickly close his hands to secure the two weapons.
“Thought they were manmade didn’t you?” the wizard asked with a grin on his face, he tried to pull them lose but Christians was to strong. He let one of them go and he called for a smaller dagger to him and pushed in to Christians gut, another howl of pain escaped the wolf. But he quickly bit down hard on the wizards shoulder, who in turn screamed in pain too as he pulled himself way from Christian.
The werewolf used his mouth to pull the swords out of his hands and carefully used one of his hands to pull out the dagger in his gut. He was bleeding heavily and was unable to stand up straight.
The wizard called his swords to him again. “You are not as tough as you think you are, in fact you are quite pathetic!” he went on the attack again swinging the two swords high. Just as the swords where about to hit, Christian rolled out of the way. Coming back up with the back of his enemy exposed to attack he slashed with his claws over the spine of the wizard.
The wizard collapsed as the spine was severed, crawling towards one of the pillars. Christian stood up with all his efforts, took a deep breath and blow fire one last time at the now defenseless wizard. The cries of pain filled the room, mixed with the sound of the intense fires around the hall.
Christian had run out of strength, he too collapsed on the hard floor, breathing heavily as he was bleeding to death, slowly he was slipping away. Darkness surrounded him as he was slowly moving towards his last breaths. The corps of the wizard was now at a point where only the magic were left, and without a container they were in chaos. Intense lights swirled and flashed.
Soon after, the entire palace exploded in a magic frenzy, pulverizing everything nearby.
She turned to leave when a large explosion rocked the ground, the sky erupted brightly. She screamed and took off, but the dragon grabbed her in it claw and held her tightly.
"You cannot leave, there is nothing left."
She fought, biting, scratching at the clawed hand. Soon she exhausted herself, changing back into her human self. Tears ran down her cheeks and her body shook with sobs. The dragon grabbed the bag and took flight back to the cave.
Once back in the cave, she set Brina down then took care of her eggs securing them. Brina just sat there, to tired to cry or move. The imp appeared on her shoulder. He was going to say something smart, but refrained. He patted her shoulder but each pat moved lower, until he finally got a good feel and squeeze he had wanted all this time. Brina felt him on her shoulder and his pats. When he copped a feel she actually laughed a little. "You are a perv and a opportunist."
The dragon returned and snorted at the Imp. Who rapidly disappeared again. "Why do you keep that thing?"
"Because I have actually grown attached to him."
"If I were you, I\'d just eat him for the annoyance."
Tears started again. "He\'s gone and the curse is still here with me. I can feel it. She lied it didn’t solve anything."
The dragon laid down beside her and watched. "He is not completely gone you know. He did leave you with something."
Brina looked up at her. "Memories."
"Yes those but also the child you carry."
Brinas eyes widened. "What do you mean? I don’t feel anything, we only..we just."
The dragon chuckled. "I know, that’s all that matters."
Brina smiled and placed her hand over her stomach. "A child he will never know." She curled next to the dragon and cried until she fell asleep.
