Akira was just lounging on the couch when there was a knock at the door. The council wanted to see him and he could care less.

“Why the hell do you want me?”

The wolf bristled, “You shouldn’t act that way you should be honored that the council wants to talk to you, a non Alpha!”

“Hell I could care less.”

“You should go Zev will be there, right?”

“Fine.” He grunted as he stood up. “I just wanted to rest.”

He glanced at Keir, “Don’t worry they most likely want to meet you because of the fact Zev is taking Dad’s place.”

“So go say hi and get the hell out.”

“Basically.”

“Works for me. Show me how to get there.”

The wolf walked off and Keir watched as he walked after the male wolf. “Will he be all right?”

“Yeah.” Rune had pulled his hat off.

“I was thinking, I’ll show Akira and Zev. Then the others later.”

“So you’re going to take Levana’s advice?”

“Yeah.”

Keir sat Akira’s bag down and grabbed Rune by the waist. “Then let me enjoy being the only one to know right know.”

“H-how?”

“I can think of a few ways.” He rubbed Rune’s ass, the small male gasped and pushed against Keir. “I like the way you respond.” They kissed and Keir scooped him up into his arms. Rune wrapped his arms around his neck and Keir made his way to their room. A moan came from Rune when he nipped at his neck. Oh he was going to have a lot of fun.

Akira stared at the large wooden doors. Two howling wolves were carved into the wood. The doors were pushed open enough for him to walk in and then it closed. He walked in his hands in his coat pockets. Marianela must have packed his stuff, he could tell from the jacket. It was an old bomber coat that he got from Marianela’s father who got it from his father. “What took so long?”

The room was large; Zev and Caden stood facing a table, where five people sat. The table was a dark brown and the chairs were high backs the same color as the table. The windows were stained and had pictures of wolves on them.

“We’re sorry…”

“I’m not I’m injured and I have to walk all the way out here in the cold.”

Zev grinned and Caden sighed. The man who spoken was an older looking male, he had wrinkles and peppering hair. “Show some respect.”

“I give my respect to those who deserve it.”

A woman spoke up, “I’m starting to like Akira more and more.” She had dark brown hair and Akira gapped.

“Star?”

“Yo!”

“So you know him?” The man from before asked.

“Yes, Ralph.” She leaned back and waved towards Akira, “He’s been helping out with the rouges. He’s got one hell of a temper and an I-don’t-put-up-with-shit attitude. Then there’s the fact he almost ran himself into the ground trying to save his own rag tag family and he’s a hell of a leader.”

“You can’t have two leaders.” Another woman spoke up she had brown almost black hair and dark brown eyes.

“He can help Zev, Tala.” A younger male looked at them, he didn’t look that old, had to be around Zev’s age maybe younger. He had dark brown hair and golden eyes.

The dark brunette turned to the younger male. “You may be right brother but tell me how can a male have kids?”

Then Tala’s brother rubbed his head. “Its love you don’t need to have a family.”

“Tala has a point, Mowanza.” They all looked at a red head at the end of the table, his feet were propped up on the table. “An alpha needs to keep the line going.” He looked at Akira with pale blue eyes. “He can stay with him but he needs to find some woman to keep the line going.”

Akira growled at the same time as Zev, but Star beat them to the punch, “Ulmer you’re out of line!”

Then Akira shouted, “I don’t give a fuck about your rules!” Zev was caught off by the anger coming off of the male.

“Akira…” He left his father’s side and the other werewolves looked down at the male. Star pushed away from the table when it started to shake. It didn’t take long before the other elders except Ulmer were moving away from it.

“I’m not going to have some fucker telling me that he has to go and do that!” He was about to say a few more words when Zev clapped a hand over his mouth. The wolf had slipped behind him, one hand on his shoulder and the other over his mouth.

“Calm down.” Zev placed his head against the back of Akira’s head and his whole body relaxed. Damn that wolf and his calming thoughts. “Even if I had to I couldn’t.” The table stopped shaking and Star looked at Akira.

“Thanks Zev.”

“What just happened?”

Star looked at Zev and Akira could hear what she wanted to tell them. “You can tell them Star.”

The woman sat back down and cleared her throat. “Akira here would be a good person for Zev because he can help Zev when it comes to making the right choices and he can see things before they happen. And he can obviously hear what we think.”

Akira winced when the thoughts got too loud. “Too much.”

Zev placed his hand on the other shoulder. “Focus on mine.”

“Trying.”

“Better.”

“Yeah. I should kick you.”

“Sorry, don’t need you pissing someone off.”

“Zev, is Akira all right?” Star was looking at the two of them. “Is his wound bothering him?”

“No it’s not.” Akira pushed Zev away and he walked forward, “No way in hell I’m going to let you do this.”

Ulmer gave a wicked grin, “Your lover’s got a tongue on him. He should learn his place and behave fast.”

“Make me.”

It grew quiet and Ulmer stood up. Zev was in front of Akira and Caden in front of him. “I’d think twice Ulmer.” He glanced at Star. “You really don’t want to piss that guy behind them off and I don’t think you want to start a fight in your own family.”

Ralph stood up, “Zev I’m sorry to say this but if you can’t…”

The doors slammed open and Levana walked down the aisle, she stopped in front of the table. Looking at all five of them she shouted, “If anyone shall try to break these two apart I will make your life a living hell! Do not undo what fate has planed!”

“He is the next Alpha; he needs to be able to produce an heir.”

She looked over at Ralph and she growled out, “Do not undo what fate has planed!” Looking at Star she asked, “Star when the time comes I want these two to stay with you in your den.”

“Of course High Wolf I’ll even give them a room close to mine so that I can make sure nothing happens.” She was looking at Ulmer; he was lounged back in the chair and looking at the wall, a bored look on his face.

Akira pushed past them, “I will not leave my sister alone.”

Star nodded, “If you want we can all talk about it, plan everything out.”

“Fine.” Levana nodded and walked past the three standing there. She stopped and looked at Ulmer, “And Ulmer I think you should think before you speak from now on.” As she walked out the doors swung shut and Akira turned to Zev.

“Does she have…?”

Caden looked at him, “Yes she is the only wolf born with psychic gifts.”

“Zev and Akira, you may leave now. Go spend some time together.”

“What about the other stuff you guys were talking about?”

“Don’t worry your father here will pass the message along to you.” Tala smiled. “If the High Wolf says it’s to be then I give my help if anything is needed at all just say the word.”

“Me too!” Mowanza was jumping now. “I can help too!”

They looked at Ralph who coughed, “I want to see what fate has in store for these two before I give my help.”

All eyes were on Ulmer, he looked at them and he growled. “Like hell!” The two females glared at him and the younger wolf gave a growl. You could see him flinch a little at the growl.

The younger wolf pointed at him, “If you don’t agree then I’ll go tell the High Wolf!”

“Fucking brat shut up!”

“Make me!”

He growled and then huffed, “Fine I’m with Ralph.” A kick was delivered to his chair and it fell over with him in it. Mowanza was standing over him and then he turned arms crossed over his chest.

Star grinned and waved them off, “Now, shoo shoo go have some fun!”

Zev was grinning as he ushered Akira out. “What the hell was that all about?”

“Mowanza and Ulmer grew up together.” He hurriedly explained to Akira. They were out of the room just as Star shouted at the two boys to sit down and behave. “And so did Star.”

“Wow. She said a fight in the family are you two related.”

“Yeah.”

“I don’t see how you can be related to such an ass.”

“He’s my cousin.”

Once they were outside he pulled him around the corner and kissed Akira. It was already dark outside, since it took most of the day to get there and then what happened with Akira and the council. He found his body pressed up against Zev’s body as hands slipped into his back pockets. Pulling away Zev held the tin up and Akira gave him a dark look. “Hey! Give that back!”

“Me thinks this is the reason why you were late.”

“Zev.” He lunged and winced as the wound screamed in pain. The wolf slipped it into his back pocket and picked Akira up. “Damn dog give it back!”

“No.”

“Zev…!”

“Not going to work.” He walked off to the small house and opened the door to find Keir and Rune racked out on the couch. Keir was laying on the couch and Rune was sprawled out over the top of him. The fact that both of them were shirt less didn’t make them pause it was the fact that two fuzzy things were sitting on Rune’s head and they just twitched.

Rune pushed himself up and yawned he was straddling Keir now as he rubbed the palm of his hand over his eyes. Then he saw Akira and Zev. They were looking at him and he froze. Akira was on the ground and next to Rune. “Akira… what is it?”

He yelped as he tugged on the two ears, “Yeah there real.”

“That hurts”

“When did you get ears?”

“After you… got hurt.”

“Why didn’t you say anything before I left?”

“I didn’t want…”

“If that sentence is finished with ‘hate’ I’ll hang you by your toes.” Rune’s mouth clicked shut and Akira’s eyes narrowed but he brushed it off. “Your eyes are a different color, too.”

“Yeah.” He looked down and saw Keir looking up at him. “Hey, you’re awake.”

Keir grunted and sat up as Zev draped his body over the couch. “What are you doing here?”

“Star let me spend time with Akira.” He grinned and looked at Rune. “Your ears are weird.”

Akira and Keir smacked the wolf over the head.

“Ow! I meant I’ve never seen ears like his.”

“I’m still trying to figure that out.” The small male looked down and Keir lifted his head up.

“Don’t even…”

“Sorry.”

Zev grabbed Akira and waved, they almost made it to the room when Akira stopped. He turned and ran down the stairs. “I’ll be right there hold on.” He slid to a stop when he saw the two on the couch. They were making out when Akira coughed. Rune jumped and looked behind him. “Where are the cups?”

“Cupboard next to the fridge.”

He walked into the kitchen and filled the cup up with water. Then he took the vile and opened it. putting a drop in to the water he quickly took a drink. He really wanted to know what was so great about the vile of liquid. It didn’t have a taste and he then drank the whole cup. Then placing it in the sink he walked out to find the two gone.

Akira shrugged and ran up the steps. He walked into the room and in a second was on the bed. Each kiss they gave had the other wanting more. Each touch they felt made the fire deep inside burn hotter. The pain was sharp as he winced and dug his nails into Zev’s shoulder. “Akira…”

“Zev… wait.” He gave a wince as his wound started to hurt again. Zev looked down at him and they looked at each other

“Sorry.”

“Don’t worry I want to have sex and all but… that really fucking hurt.”

He moved down and kissed the bandaged wound. “I’m sorry I’ll wait.”

The brunette smirked and kissed him, “You still owe me.”

“How many more till I don’t?”

“How long was I asleep?”

“That might take all awhile.”

“We’re not leaving in the morning are we?”

“No not till the end of this week.”

“Good. We can have as much fun as you want after I’m healed.” Akira grabbed his other hand and licked that finger. “Make me feel good later.” He let Akira suck on his fingers a little longer and then he pulled them away from him.

“Keep it up and I’ll take you now.” He kissed Akira and swallowed the needy moaned that the brunette gave. Akira was glad Levana walked in when she did during the council meeting. The thought of someone touching Zev that way just pissed him off.

Rolling over Akira grunted when he didn’t find Zev. The two spent most of the night kissing and holding each other and somewhere in the middle of the night he and Zev had tossed their clothes. So when he sat up he was caught off by the fact he had a shirt on. Sniffing it, he smiled and fell back on the bed. It smelled like Zev. An earthy forest sent that only Zev could pull off.

The door to the room opened and his back stiffened. “Akira!”

‘Stay still and maybe he’ll go away.’ It was too early for Rune to be shouting. He could here Rune yell to someone down stairs and then he ran out the door. It closed and he smiled as he curled more in the shirt. Okay so he usually didn’t act this way but damn it when you have feelings for someone they make you do stupid shit! He would have drifted back to sleep if the door didn’t open and two hands didn’t pull him up out of the bed.

Looking over his shoulder he gave who ever picked him up a sleepy glare and Zev just chuckled. “Come on time to get up.”

“Why?”

“Because Star wants to talk about the whole den thing.” He smiled and lightly caressed the side of his face then he rested it on his neck. A smile crossed his face when Akira sighed and nodded.

“Fine.” The brunette walked over and grabbed his pants. He pulled them on and turning looked at Zev. His hair was covered by a hat on backwards and he had a tank top and a pair of pants with rips in them on. “That’s different.”

Zev stopped and looked at him. “Hmmm?”

“What you’re wearing, it’s different.”

“Oh this. I’m cooking.” Then the wolf left the room and he gave a confused face.

He pulled Zev’s shirt up and looked at his bandaged waist. It didn’t hurt. He poked it and winced, “Okay that hurt.” Turning he looked over to find his bag and he walked over. Opening it he pulled out a shirt that made him sigh. “I thought I got rid of this thing.” Digging through it he finally found a decent shirt and he took the one that smelled like Zev off and pulled his own on. It was a red shirt and he looked down. It was a little on the small side when he raised his arms it showed off the bandages that wrapped around his abdomen and waist.

He sighed and walked out of the room. His feet didn’t make a sound as he climbed down the steps. A smell whiffed passed his nose and his stomach growled. “Akira, get in here!”

“Damn stomach.” He walked in and dropped down on the chair. A plate was placed in front of him and he stared at it.

“Marianela told me how you liked it.”

He looked at it. “What’s wrong?” Rune was looking at him.

“It’s just that I’ve only had Maria’s eggs up till now.”

Caden chuckled as he pat the boy on the shoulder. Akira flinched away without thinking and Caden just smiled, “Just try it! Zev is just as good as his mother, maybe better. But don’t tell her I said that.”

He picked at it with his fork and they all looked at him. “Just eat it already.” Taking some on the fork he put it in his mouth and chewed. Then standing up he walked out of the room. They heard the TV turn on and they looked into the living area. He was curled up in the chair his legs pulled close and he was eating as he watched TV.

Zev looked at Rune, “How do you know if he likes it?”

“Watch.” Rune walked out and he stopped, Akira didn’t move. He scooted closer and Akira glanced at him then back at the TV. He was two feet away when Akira turned and looked at him.

“Any closer and I’ll stab you with the fork.”

He made a pouting face and whimpered, “But I wanna taste!”

“Mine.”

“But…”

The brunette glared at him.

“Fine.” He turned away and walked away. “He likes it.”

Keir looked at Zev, “I wonder if he’ll let Zev take a bite.”

“What he won’t even let his best friend take a bite.”

Zev looked at Rune, “Who’s his best friend?”

“Jett.”

“Wait… what?”

“Yeah. Ransom and Jett, they’re the best friends, Mitch is like a brother, and Marianela is the little sister.”

“What about the rest of you?”

Akira walked in and held the plat out to Zev, “We’re one team. A family not by blood but by bond.”

They watched as he walked over to the door, “Where is Star?”

The door opened and he found Star looking at him. “Well I see your up, let’s take a look at that wound and then me, you, and Zev can plan this thing.”

Rune poked his head around the corner. “Plan what?”

“Like hell I know! Zev!”

“I’m coming!” He came out of the kitchen, his jacket halfway on.

“Hurry.”

“Wait I need my shoes.” He snagged his shoes and hopped as he put one on then the other. Akira and Star were already out the door. “Hey wait up!” The door slammed close and the two males looked at each other.

“That was odd.”

“Was Akira rushing Zev?”

“Yep.”

The two wolves walked up to a house and Akira stopped. He was looking at the streets. “What’s up with all this?”

They looked back and Zev grinned, “You’ll see tonight.”

“For some reason I’m scared.”

Star pushed a door opened, “Come on boys.” They walked into house and she led them into the kitchen area.

There was another red head sitting at the table. Looking up the male smiled, he had green eyes. “Hello.” When he stood he was as tall as Star. “Star told me all about you.” There was a long scar down the side of his face.

“Hey there Altan.” The dark haired woman kissed him on the cheek and he smiled. “This here is my future mate. Now, let’s all sit down and start talking.”

Akira and Zev pulled the chairs out and took a seat. Then the door opened and Levana walked in. “Akira shirt off.” He looked at her. “Coming on, off, off.” They watched as he pulled the shirt off and she walked over. “Take off the bandages.”

He sighed and started to pull them off, “I really don’t want to see if it didn’t work or not. Medicine usually doesn’t work for me.”

“Look, it’s gone!” His gray eyes looked at his lower stomach and he poked at it.

“But it was sore just ten minutes ago.”

“Good it still works.”

“Now can we get back to the den thing?” The white wolf nodded and sat in a chair. The brunette pulled his shirt on and sat back down next to Zev, who snaked an arm around his waist. Star smiled and pulled out a book. “I had Altan run back and get pictures of the empty living quarters. These are the ones close to mine.” They spent the rest of the morning talking about the rooms and if Marianela wanted she and Ransom could stay there with Akira.
