Christmas Eve - Part 5

Sorry it is short, this was actually supposed to be two parts, this chapter, buuuut I'm too tired to get the other part out tonight. So, you get this chapter, that is really just a huge cliffhanger still.

Chapter 36 – Christmas Eve – Part 5

“What happened to my daughter, Devilin?” THWACK!

“God dammnit!”

“What happened to my daughter, Devilin?” Squeeeeeze.

“Ma’am, he has just been shot in the leg, you can not deal that kind of damage to him,” the ambulance driver was hurried, and uncertain how to relieve the situation. The woman was infuriated, her gem-like eyes blazing with hatred and anger as she stared down at the victim of the gunshot wound.

“He was shot, with his pants down, and he was alone in a fucking room with my fourteen-year-old daughter!” THWACK!

“Ma’am,” a police officer walked up to Fuji and grabbed her by the arms, physically having to hold her back from kicking and screaming more than she already was. She was ready to claw the officer’s eyes out, but several of her friends seemed to engulf her while he was holding the raging woman, keeping her calmer than her shivering tendons lead on.

“Ma’am,” the officer tried again, “if you suggest foul play, then we can check him when he is in the hospital, but we can not evaluate damage if you are smacking him where he has already been shot.”

“And deserving,” Fuji muttered.

Her eyes glared at the retreating ambulance, but it was not Fuji who was screaming now, it was Yuki, “If you did anything to harm Rhapsody, you are going to be grateful for the bullet!”

“Why is no one looking for them?” Danko was yelling at another officer. “There is a road chase going on somewhere and all you officers are here, infuriating the woman who pays for this town and allowing a perhaps rapist to… to get away!”

“Turned against your friend fast, didn’t you Makenke?” Nakago sneered her way.

Danko whipped towards Nakago so fast he did not see it coming, nor did he see the fist that flew through the air and right between his eyes. Danko felt nothing but complete when she heard the crack that would assure that his nose was broken. “Rapists deserve nothing but what is coming to them,” Danko sneered. “Same with the men who set up the whole rape.”

“Ma’am!” two officers were now having problems pulling Danko away as she went swinging for Nakago once more.

“One Hell of a party you throw, Mrs. Inperiaru,” Officer Pop walked through the door and bowed her head towards the woman. “I knew I wanted to come to America and work for a reason.”

“Wow,” Nakago was covering his nose with a handkerchief and glaring at the officer who had arrested him, on more than one occasion. “I knew I should have stayed home.”

“I’m not here for you, Mr. Oshidori,” the woman said, the gray in her hair proudly streaked through the outside layers of her dark hair and pulled back into a tight bun. “When I heard who the disturbance involved I had to come.”

“She probably followed us from Japan here because we are the most excitement she ever had,” Shinwa laughed.

“I remember you too, Mr. Kiseki, especially your stunt after you came back to Japan and married Ms. Oshidori, or, Mrs. Kiseki now. No, I’m not here for any of that. I just want you all to explain to me why I have three people in the back of my car refusing to say anything, but blaming most everything on this man being taken away in the ambulance.”

“Rhapsody? Amatsu? Ashe? Are they all in there?” Fuji was pushing away from the officer again; ready to run out of the house and to the car to pull them all in her arms.

“I have them all,” Officer Pop admitted, grabbing Fuji’s arm and pulling her back into the house before she could see her husband and children. “But I need statements from all of you to prosecute Mr. Devilin Tennison, or else Ashe Inperiaru has to go to jail, which he might anyway considering his list of offenses.”

“Well,” Fuji said, holding her hand out and indicating her couch. “I guess you need to have a seat, we may be here a while.”
