The Cake has crumbled....er...maybe not!!

Happy St. Patty’s Day.—for some.
Bad news, LOYAL and TRUE. Yaoi House LLC will not be continuing in the publishing business. This means that I will have to start all over again searching for a publisher for CAKE. Needless to say my disappointment is overwhelming. I feel like I have been kicked in the gut after being so happy that one of my main goals of getting into print was going to finally have a check mark beside it.
After reading the publisher’s blog, she has been going through a horrendous time and finally came to the conclusion that God has been punishing her for traveling the yaoi path. I am only emotionally bereft at the news. At least, I am not out any money.
So…it’s starting to look like I start all over again.
How does that song go…someone left the Cake out in the rain….thank the stars that I got Tupperware.

UPDATE: MARCH 20, 2008
The doom and gloom may have been just a fast moving weather front. I was contacted by Yaoi House LLC today and the shareholders are going to keep the business up and running. The following is an email sent by the interim president.
Hello Authors,
I am sorry it has taken me so long to contact you but with the situation the way it is, I had to go and hunt down your info personally. So if I have an email that is not your main one, please email me back with the correct one. The shareholders and I have only had tentative discussions but I thought it imperative to let you all know that so far the decision has been to continue with Kira's original vision of printing the books so if she has sent you an email saying the contract has been voided please ignore it as the decision is not hers to make.. Please understand that this situation had been a MAJOR setback for the company. Also close examination of Kira's own business decisions has shown some flaws in her business modal. Please bear with us as we try to put the company back together but also know that we are thinking about your futures as authors under the YH roof. Please join the new kirafics ML at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/neo-kirafics/ in order to get our announcements.

I do believe that I am going to try the suggestion of going the lulu.com route of publishing and I shall be attempting to get "That's What Brothers Do" into a paperback format. I will have to work on it a bit and review the comments. I know there was a little bit'o dissatisfaction with a transition between Brant getting taken as Constantine's toy and the broken man he turned into in the next chappie. So, if something does get into print, it will be a little different from the web version. That is the plan anyways.
So that is the update. Cake is still kicking. I'm still kicking. Glad you see you're still kicking.
