Chapter Thirty-Four: Conflict
Previously, On Some Kind of Wonderful....
Isabelle watched as her daughter paced back and forth. “What’s going on Leila? What’s with the emergency meeting?” Jordan asked with a frown.
Leila sighed and closed her eyes. “It’s about Jaiden.” She said. “He’s married...”
Isabelle gasped her hand flying to her mouth while Jordan’s eyes widened. “H...he’s what now?” Jordan asked in shock. Dayne closed his eyes and hung his head low.
Marc and Fate looked equally shocked but remained silent.
“He’s married...to Eyvah.” Leila said again. “But that’s not all.”
“Tell me he didn’t knock her up!” Dayne spat lifting his eyes to look at Leila who shook her head.
“No, no he didn’t get her pregnant...thank God.” She said rolling her eyes. “He um...he didn’t get her to sign a pre-nup before hand.”
Jordan shook his head and looked at his wife who fell on the sofa her head in her hands. “You’ve got to be fucking kidding me!”
Dayne said moving to stand beside Leila.
“I can’t...why would he marry her it makes no sense, Jaiden...he wouldn’t?” Jordan mumbled his tone taut.
“Apparently it wasn’t his idea. Eyvah suggested they get married to prove they were serious about each other and that idiot
went along with it.”
Jordan glared and began pacing. “She’s...son of a...!” he growled and swiped his hand sending a vase flying across the room which the wall shattering it to pieces.
The starling sound frightened Melis who began crying. Marc held her close to him and shushed her while rocking her side to side.
“Uh, I’ll take her upstairs.” He said glancing at Leila who nodded grateful. Fate muttered that she would join him to give the
family some privacy.
“She took us all for a fool. I don’t believe this I trusted the bitch. And how could Jaiden be so STUPID!” Dayne rambled.
Isabelle stood up from the sofa and stood beside her husband who looked livid. “We don’t know that for sure. You can’t just make assumptions like that Dayne, this could be completely innocent.”
“Isabelle get real, Eyvah isn’t stupid, you’ve met the girl she has a sick mother, of course she would jump at the chance to marry a clueless idiot like Jaiden. Jaiden screws up and she can milk him for all his worth. I can’t believe this...I fucking
trusted him.” Jordan said pacing.
“Jordan you’re overreacting. Let’s just think about this for second...okay?” Isabelle said trying to calm him.
“What’s to think about Isabelle, he has a share in everything, all the kids do and If she decides to screw him over half of everything we have is gone... just like that!” he said snapping his fingers.
“What are we going to do, Dad?” Dayne asked scratching his head.
Jordan stopped pacing and stared at the floor hard for a minute. “I’m gonna cut him off.” He mumbled looking up at his family.
“What...Jordan you can’t do that.” Isabelle said grasping his arm. Jordan shot Isabelle a look and shook her hand off.
“Oh no, watch Me.” he said pulling out his cell phone. Isabelle’s hand shot out and she caught his wrist stopping him before he
dialled a number.
Isabelle and Jordan glared at each other. “Kids, leave us.” Isabelle said never taking her eyes off Jordan’s. Dayne and Leila knew what was coming and silently left the room leaving their parents to lug this out.
“Jordan, think about you’re doing.” She said tightly.
“I am thinking, Isabelle. He’s gone too far this time.”
“He’s our son you can’t just cut him off!” Isabelle said raising her voice at him. Jordan scowled at her.
“Yes he is our son but he is also an idiot. The boy has no fucking sense, like what he did first wasn’t bad enough now he’s actually married....MARRIED!” Jordan snapped.
Isabelle shook her head. “What’s he supposed to do if you cut him off, Jordan?”
“I don’t know, maybe he should’ve thought about that before he signed his life and half our assets away.”
Isabelle leaned on the wall and dropped her gaze a forlorn expression on her face. Jordan noticed the look and moved to stand in front of her. “Belle...” he called out softly trying to touch her but she shook her head. Jordan stepped closer to her and reached out to touch her cheek. Isabelle closed her eyes but didn’t move; Jordan took that as an opportunity and tilted her head up to meet his eyes. “Look at me Is...”
Isabelle did as she was told; her cerulean blue eyes met his hazel ones. “I don’t like this anymore than you do baby, but he has to learn that he can’t go around acting like this. He needs to learn that his actions have consequences.” Jordan explained delicately caressing her cheek.
Isabelle nodded, “I don’t understand, Jordan. Why is he acting like this? What have we ever done for him to rebel like this?”
Jordan pressed his forehead to his wife’s “It’s not him, it’s the girl. She’s manipulating him and Jaiden’s so blinded by his love for her that he can’t see it.”
Isabelle sighed. “She seemed like such a good girl.”
Jordan nodded. “Yeah well, it’s the quiet ones you gotta watch out for. She was probably after Dayne at first but realised he’s much more mature and level-headed so decided to work on Jaiden instead.” He scoffed shaking his head. “She’s good, I’ll give
her that much. But no high school girl is going to have one over me.” Jordan said his eyes darkening.
“So what happens after you cut off Jaiden?” Isabelle asked chewing on her bottom lip.
Jordan sighed heavily. “We’ll see how long she sticks with him when she finds out he’s as broke as she is.”
“Jordan, Jaiden isn’t going like this, he’s going to blow a casket when he finds out he has nothing.”
“I’m counting on it. He wants to go act like a big man and get married, he’s going to have to work and earn his own money like
one too. I’m done fixing his mistakes its time the boy wises up.”
“Baby, we don’t know for sure if that’s what Eyvah’s intensions even are. For all we know she could really just be in love with him.”
“Isabelle, come on, how many eighteen year olds get married in this day and age. We’re not in the eighteen-hundreds anymore where you have to marry as soon as you hit puberty. They have more important thing s to think about like partying and college for fucks sake not marriage...next thing you know she’ll be pregnant.”
Isabelle groaned. “Oh God, Jordan please don’t. In the space of a few months I have two grandchildren and I feel like I’m sixty already. If Jaiden comes home and tells me he’s going to be a father too I’d for sure drop dead.” She said bleakly.
Jordan smiled tightly. “Don’t worry, I’ll fix this. We’ll have our boy back soon where he belongs, I promise.”
Isabelle let her head rest on his chest as she snuggled into him. “I don’t doubt you, Jordan.”
“Don’t worry yourself so much, I don’t want you getting grey hair.” He joked and groaned when Isabelle poked him in his ribs.
“How can you even joke at a time like this?” she said looking up at him with a frown.
Jordan cupped her cheek and gazed into her eyes lovingly. “Because, I swore I would make you smile through your hardest of
days. Besides, I need a good dosage of your smiles to brighten up my day.” He grinned down at her.
Isabelle only looked at him for a moment before her lips curled into a smile. “There it is...” Jordan said pinching her chin playfully.
Isabelle shook her head. “I really hate how much power you have over me sometimes.” She said licking her lips alluringly.
Jordan watched the action and almost groaned. “Mm, but I can name you a few dozen times you actually love it.” He teased leaning forward.
“I hate you.” Isabelle said tilting her head up to look at him.
Her husband smirked, “You lie.” He said reaching down and spanking her soundly on the behind.
Isabelle gasped her blue eyes wide. “Jordan...come on anyone can see us.” She said wiggling in his grasp when he grabbed her backside and squeezed.
“I don’t remember you complaining last night.” He cooed brushing his lips over her jaw line. “I can still hear you screaming ‘Please Master’ over and over again in my head.” he said grinning.
Isabelle blushed furiously and smacked him on the chest. “Stop it.” she said looking around. “And don’t you forget it’s your turn next time.” She whispered quietly.
Jordan chuckled. “Oh baby, I’m dying to be your slave boy. By the way what have you got...for me?” he asked poking up a brow.
Isabelle shrugged smiling impishly at him. “You’ll find out when I’m good and ready, got that...peasant?” she asked with a sultry voice that caused Jordan’s pants tighten instantly.
Jordan leaned forward to kiss her but she pulled back and looked at him expectantly. “Yes Mistress.” Jordan almost growled. Isabelle grinned and pulled out of his arms she reached up and patted his cheek a few times.
“Down boy...” she purred and sauntered off leaving Jordan lusting after her. He looked down at his crotch and groaned.
“Damn.” He muttered and walked off into his office to find a solution to the Jaiden problem.
-----------
“So, what do you think?”
Jaiden was looking out of the window lost in his thoughts when he felt a warm hand squeeze his shoulder. He looked back at his...wife and smiled.
“It’s nice. Do you like it babe?” he asked turning to wrap an arm around her waist. Eyvah smiled up at her husband and nestled into his solid form.
She sighed, “I really do. I think it’s beautiful, what do you think?” she asked tilting her head to look at him.
Jaiden smiled. “It’s perfect.” He said pressing his lips to hers gently. When they pulled apart they looked around the duplex apartment and nodded. “We’ll take it.” Jaiden said and kissed his wife’s head.
The realtor smiled at the couple. “That’s excellent. I’ll just go and run a quick credit check then we can sign the paperwork.” He said. Jaiden and Eyvah both nodded and watched the man walked off.
“This is so exciting; I can’t believe we’re going to have our own home.” She said giddily.
Jaiden closed his eyes trying the rid the doubts in his mind. He couldn’t shake Leila’s voice from his head. What if he had been wrong? What if Eyvah was just after his money and she really didn’t love him?
He leaned against the wall and watched as Eyvah bumbled excitedly about where to place what furniture. A few minutes later the realtor walked in with a slight frown on his face. “Uh, I’m sorry Mr. Callaway but you’ve failed the credit check.” He said apologetically.
Jaiden frowned and pushed himself off the wall and straightened. “What are you talking about?” he questioned. Eyvah came to stand by Jaiden listening intently to the conversation.
“Well it seems you have insufficient funds.” The realtor informed him. Jaiden was beyond confused how could he possibly have insufficient funds, he was sure he had at least three million in his account.
Eyvah chuckled. “Are you crazy, do you not know who he is?” she asked with an arched brow. The realtor shot her a confused look.
Jaiden cleared his throat. “Look, there must be some kind of mistake here; can you run it again please?” Jaiden asked politely.
“I have already run it four times Mr. Callaway. I’m afraid we can’t go ahead with this, I suggest you talk to your bank as soon
as possible.” Jaiden whipped out his phone and left the apartment building.
A good ten minutes later Jaiden was on the phone with his bank pacing back and forth. “What the hell do you mean my account has been zeroed, how could that be?!” He snapped agitated.
“No, I had over three million in that damn account, where the hell has it all gone?” he demanded. He froze in his spot. “My father...?” Jaiden’s eyes turned icy and he snapped his phone shut.
Eyvah looked up at her husband with concern. “Jaiden what’s going on?”
Jaiden was glaring at the floor. “I’ve been cut off.” He mumbled in disbelief.
Eyvah frowned. “What, what do you mean you’ve been cut off?”
“My Dad, he...he transferred everything to his name. I have nothing left.” He said angrily.
Eyvah gasped. “How could that be, he can’t just take your money and everything you worked hard for.” she said jumping to stand beside him.
Jaiden ran his hand through his hair in frustration. “Damn fucking right he can’t.” Jaiden said narrowing his icy blue eyes. “Come on, I’ll take you home and I’ll go and fix this shit.”
------
Hours later Leila, Marc and Dayne sat side by side watching Fate play with Melis on the floor.
“So, you have a son?” Leila asked her brother still in shock. Dayne nodded in response smiling slightly when Melis giggled up at Fate who was pulling faces at her. “I still can’t believe it. I mean...I don’t know what I would do if someone took Meli from me.” Leila said and shuddered at the thought.
“She’s putting on a brave face but she’s crumbling inside. I just wish there were something more I could do. I feel like I’m
not doing enough, like I should be out there looking instead of sitting around waiting.” Dayne said with a deep sigh.
“Dayne, listen I have a friend, he works for the CIA, I could call in a favour?” Marc offered.
Dayne and Leila exchanged looks. “You know someone that works for the CIA?” Leila questioned her fiancé. Marc smiled sheepishly.
“Yeah,” he nodded and looked over at Fate with his daughter and his heart broke. “You guys need all the help you can get right now. This guy has resources; he could find your boy quicker than anyone.”
“Doesn’t he have bigger issues to worry about?” Dayne questioned incredulously. “Like the navy?”
“This is important. You don’t know where your son is Dayne; he could be in the wrong hands for all we know, the sooner you find him the better.” Marc told him seriously.
“Thanks Marc means a lot.” Dayne thanked him.
Marc smiled and shook his head. “Whatever I can do, I’ll get right on him and let you know what he comes up with.” Dayne nodded and watched his sisters fiancé walk off. He sighed and took Leila’s hand and kissed it softly.
“You chose the right guy to spend the rest of your life with, Leil’s.” He told her earnestly. Leila gave his hand a squeeze and smiled grateful.
“Thanks. Listen I’m gonna go and talk to Fate for a second okay?” Dayne nodded and watched as his sister slipped off her chair and went over to his girlfriend and sit beside her.
Fate looked up at Leila and smiled. “She’s really beautiful, Leila.” She said her fingers lightly caressing Melis’s hair.
Leila smiled at Melis and nodded. “Thank you. Listen Fate--” Leila began but Fate stopped her.
“—I know what you’re going to say Leila, but you don’t have to, really its fine.” Fate said smiling sadly.
“No, it’s not fine. I’m really sorry Fate, you and I were like best friends I should have known you wouldn’t have left my
brother like that.”
Fate shrugged. “Don’t worry about it. We’re back together now, only thing missing is our son.” She explained her eyes filling with tears once again.
Leila placed her hand on Fates shoulder and squeezed comfortingly. “We’ll find him soon. I promise.”
Fate sighed and nodded sullenly. She suddenly looked up with a frown. “Hey, if you don’t mind me asking what happened to Chase?”
Leila smiled. “He’s around, he’s actually dating Violet, she’s Marc’s best friend.” She explained.
Fate’s brows shot up. “No kidding, you know I kind of always thought the two of you would end up together.” Fat admitted. “Not that...I don’t like Marc, because you know, he seems really great.”
Leila chuckled. “Yeah, you weren’t the only one, trust me. Chase and I came close to being together but things just got a little complicated, he began dating Nicole and I got engaged to Adrian...”
Fate’s eyes widened. “Chase dated Nicole?” fate asked and Leila nodded. “Bitch Nicole?” she asked again.
“Yep, they dated for about six months then he dumped her to be with me a few months after we slept together.”
Fate gaped at Leila. “You slept with Chase?” she whispered fiercely.
Leila bit her lip and nodded guiltily. “Yeah, it was while I was engaged to Adrian...” when Fate gave her a confused look she
decided to elaborate. “Adrian was this guy I was seeing for a while. I told him I slept with Chase and he said he’d forgive me
if I never saw Chase again.”
“You told him where to go.” Fate stated.
“Of course,” Fate chuckled and shook her head.
“Does Marc know about you and Chase?” Fate questioned glancing at Leila’s Fiancé who was conversing with Dayne heatedly about something.
“Yeah he does, what I did before I met him doesn’t really bother him. He knew I was in love with Chase. He was great with helping and consoling me...”
“Consoling you?” Fate questioned confused.
“Let’s start from the beginning...” she began filling Fate in what’s been going on since she left.
------------
“Mom?”
Isabelle lifted her eyes from her magazine and met Dayne’s blue eyes. She smiled warmly at him. “Hey, honey.”
Dayne had his head poked in through the door to her bedroom. “Um, can we talk?” he asked a little nervously.
Isabelle sat up and nodded, “Sure, come on in.” She said gesturing with her head for him to enter.
Dayne stepped in and closed the door behind him. He made it over to his mother’s bed and sat down facing her. Isabelle sat cross legged on her bed waiting for Dayne to talk. “Um, I wanted to talk to you about Fate.” He said.
“What about her?”
“Well as you already know we’re back together...again.” Isabelle nodded a smile on her face. “I um...” he trailed off pinching the bridge of his nose. Isabelle frowned.
“Sweetie what is it?” she asked concern etched in her voice.
“I love her, Mom, more than anything and I want to look after her, but she’s so stubborn she won’t let Me.” he said fingering the hem of his shirt.
“Right...?”
“She was working as a stripper to keep up with the payments of her apartment and the investigators. “ Isabelle’s brows furrowed.
“A stripper?” she questioned. Dayne nodded and licked his lips.
“Yeah, I didn’t like that at all. So I made her quit and now she doesn’t have a job or an apartment as of tomorrow...”
Isabelle reached forward and took his hand in hers. “Dayne, she’s more than welcome to stay here.” She said tenderly.
“Really?” Isabelle nodded.
“Of course sweetheart, I know how hard it is to be alone with no one to turn to, especially with a child. It makes sense that you both stay here, you’re going to need all the help and support you can get.” Isabelle said with a gentle smile.
“Mom, I really don’t wanna--”
“Dayne, this is your home, and Fate is your family along with your son. I would like it if you guys could stay, I don’t think I’m ready to lose you too.” She said with a shrug.
Dayne shook his head. “You could never get rid of me, who would force feed me or scold me for chewing like a caveman?” he teased. Isabelle chuckled and shook her head.
Her eyes widened as though she remembered something. “Oh...” she said “I actually have something I wanted to talk to you about.”
Dayne nodded. Isabelle reached down into her drawer and pulled out a bunch of papers and handed them to Dayne. He frowned when he read it and glanced up at Isabelle who was chewing her bottom lip nervously. “Adoption papers?” he asked bewildered.
Isabelle nodded, “Yeah, I’ve been thinking about this for a while now. Look whatever you’re choice I want you to know you’re still my son, this...is just to make it official.”
Dayne blinked gaping at her. “You...you want to adopt...me?” he asked surprised. Isabelle nodded slowly.
“Look, sweetie, if you don’t want too I completely understand. I mean you already have a mother and I wouldn’t dream of ever cutting her out of your life--”
“—you are my mother, always have and always will be. I never saw you as anything different Mom, whatever the law may say about it.”
Isabelle smiled and raised her hand to touch his cheek lovingly. “I know darling. To us it may seem like a piece of paper but in the eyes of the law you’re not mine. I could scream until I’m blue in the face and it won’t change a thing. If anything happens I’ll just be a stepmother nothing more...but these... state to the world that you’re one of my own.” Isabelle explained.
Dayne smiled taking the hand that was pressed to his cheek he brought it to his lips and dropped a kiss on her knuckles. “You are the most wonderful person...ever. I love you and if you wanna adopt me you have my full support.” He said gazing into his mothers teary eyes.
Isabelle smiled brightly and pulled him in for a bone crushing hug. “I love you too, Peanut.” She said and chuckled when Dayne pulled back and glared at her embarrassed.
“Mom!” he blushed. “Whatever you do, do NOT call me that in front of Fate.” He said wide eyed.
Isabelle wrinkled her nose. “Oh shush, you. As your mother it’s my duty to embarrass you.” She teased pinching his cheeks.
Dayne rolled his eyes the corners of his lips twitching. “You really are impossible.” He said shaking his head amused.
Somewhere in the house a door slamming shut echoed. Dayne and Isabelle exchanged looks before Jordan and Jaiden’s voice drifted through the house. They both stood up and rushed downstairs.
“What the hell are you doing, you trying to break the front door?” Jordan snapped. Jaiden glared icily at his father.
“What’s happened to all my money?” he asked darkly. Isabelle, Dayne, Leila, Marc and fate came into the room upon hearing the yelling.
“Jaiden...” Isabelle said taking a step towards her son who retreated sending her a cold look.
Jaiden pulled his eyes away from his mother and regarded his father. “I asked you a question?” he spat.
Jordan narrowed his eyes until they were slits. “What money?” Jordan asked crossing his arms over his chest. “You mean the money I worked so hard to give you?”
“I worked for that money, you didn’t give me shit!” He said angrily.
“Really, how do you think you got that modelling contract Jaiden?” Jordan asked. Jaiden remained silent for a moment.
“You have no right taking my money.”
Jordan shook his head. “I have every right. I didn’t work my ass off all these years to have everything I built taken by some high school girl because my son is an incompetent fool.”
“You don’t know what you’re talking about.” Jaiden hissed.”Eyvah isn’t like that.”
“Jaiden what the hell possessed you to get married. You’re only eighteen, what were you thinking?” Isabelle asked.
“I told you I love her and I was serious. Why can’t you just understand that, we love each other?” He snapped.
Dayne was seething, “She doesn’t love you, you moron she’s after your fucking money all along.” He told his brother.
Jaiden met his eyes and narrowed them until he noticed Fate standing beside Dayne holding his arm. “What the fuck is she doing here?” she spat glaring at Fate.
“They’re back together.”Isabelle informed Jaiden who chuckled.
“You dickhead, you actually took the bitch back after what she did to you?” Jaiden asked. Dayne took a step towards his brother but was stopped by Fate.
“Dayne, please don’t, its okay.” She said grasping his arm. Dayne was glaring at his brother who was glaring right back.
“You have no fucking idea, so why don’t you shut the fuck up.” Dayne retorted hotly.
Jaiden smirked. “So burnt that Eyvah left you that you went crawling back to your ex-whore-of-a-girlfriend?”
“Jaiden!” Isabelle scolded.
“Jaiden stop it, you have no idea what’s been going on.” Leila said stonily.
“So let me get this straight, Fate who destroyed Dayne is welcomed to walk back into this house, but Eyvah...who happens to be my wife is named a gold digger and isn’t welcome here just because she loves me. This is all so fucking fucked up!”
“You haven’t been around Jaiden, you don’t know what’s happening with the two of them so don’t make assumptions.” Isabelle said her brows knitted together.
Jaiden scoffed, “Right, of course, trust you to jump to his defence. After all he is your favourite son isn’t he?” Jaiden spat with envy.
Isabelle shook her head. “No, I love all my children the same. I would give up my life for anyone of you without as much as a second thought.”
“Really, if you love me so damned much why aren’t you supporting me?” he asked hotly. “Why have I been kicked to the curb while he’s living it up in luxury?”
Isabelle shook her head in disappointment. “You were never kicked to the curb; you decided to walk out on your own. God when did you start to become so envious Jaiden, you were never like this. A woman’s love is supposed to make you a better person not turn you against your own family. How can you stand there and tell me this girl loves you when she’s slowly destroying you?”
“Eyvah is not destroying me...YOU are!” he yelled.
“Hey, don’t you raise your voice to your mother.” Jordan snapped glaring at Jaiden.
“Why can’t you just let us be?” He asked annoyed.
“Jaiden if we believed for a single second that Eyvah’s love for you was true we wouldn’t stand in your way. But all she has done so far is turn you into somebody else. This isn’t you, this girl is poisoning you and you’re so blinded by your love for her you can’t see that she’s manipulating you.” Isabelle explained.
“I’m not stupid, I know her. She isn’t like that.”
Jordan shook his head. “Open your damn eyes Jaiden. The girl is taking you for a mug.” He said ardently.
Jaiden scoffed. “Oh what like Mom did you?” he asked tauntingly. Jordan’s jaw tightened.
“Jaiden stop it.” Leila warned.
“No, he’s clearly forgetting what Mom did to him all those years ago. You weren’t so smart back then either was you Dad. She was just a high school student too.” He said narrowing his blue eyes. “You were quick enough to hand over seventy thousand, because you loved her?”
“That was a completely different situation. I knew your mother for two years I was out of my mind in love with her. I would have given up a lot more to save her life if she was sick. Unlike you, I never married her and laid mine and my family’s
fortunes at her feet. Unlike Eyvah your mother was forced to do what she did to me, so don’t you dare stand there and try to justify your actions.” Jordan said seething.
“I never asked for anything from you. What the hell gives you the right to cut me off I am not a child?” Jaiden asked fiercely.
“No you’re not. You’re an adult now which is why I’m treating you like one. You want to run off and get married on your own you have to bear the burden of a wife on your own too. You can go and get a job and work just like the rest of us.” He said firmly.
“This is bullshit.” Jaiden spat derisively.
“No Jaiden, this is life. You had everything you could have ever possibly wanted but you decided to against your own family. You have to start acting like a man and take responsibility for your actions. I have done everything I could for you but obviously it wasn’t enough. If you know better, then please by all means go on ahead and live your life with Eyvah and we will see how long she will stick with you when she finds out you’re even more broke than she is.” Jordan said callously.
“I have nowhere to go.” Jaiden admitted. Isabelle took a step towards him but Jordan stopped her.
“Maybe you should have stopped to think about that before you stormed out of here. This is the only way you’re going to learn. Life’s a bitch Jaiden learn to love it because it’s only going to get worse I assure you.” Jordan told his son.
Jaiden scowled at his father, “So that’s it, you’re wiping your hands of me?” he asked his voice void of any emotion.
“Yes at least until you realise the error of your ways. You’ll thank me for this one day, Jaiden.” Jordan said bleakly.
Jaiden narrowed his eyes. “The fuck I will.” He spat with disgust. “I used to look up to you like you were some kind of God I wanted to be just like you but looking at you now... you’re nothing but a vindictive asshole on a power trip.”
Jordan’s eyes hardened and his hands turned to fists by his sides. “Watch it boy.” He said warningly.
Jaiden straightened and held his head up. “Or what, it’s like you said I’m my own man now. I don’t have to listen to you anymore. You can take your money, your wife and your fucking precious family and shove it up your ass.” Jaiden hissed.
“Jaiden!” Isabelle scolded him. He glanced at her and saw the tears in her eyes. “How dare you speak to your father in that manner, what the hell is wrong with you?” she snapped.
Dayne stepped over to stand beside Jordan. “Dayne step off.” Jordan said never taking his eyes off Jaiden.
“Dad-”
“Now!” Jordan barked. Dayne took a step back obeying his father.
Jaiden smirked at his older brother. “Pussy hole.” He said tauntingly. Dayne tried to take a step towards his brother but Marc
stopped him.
“Don’t...trust me.” Marc whispered to Dayne who frowned.
Jordan’s jaw was twitching with anger his brown eyes turned black. “You wanna repeat what you just said kid?” he said his voice
taut.
“Jordan, stop it.” Isabelle said from him. Jordan ignored her, she looked between her husband and son fear ran cold in her veins.
“You have two fucking hairs on your balls and suddenly you think you’re man enough to step up to me?” Jordan hissed.
“Actually I have more than two hairs, I can show you if you like?” Jaiden sneered mocking his father.
“Listen kid, you’re stepping on thin ice. You’re only digging yourself a deeper hole. I’m warning you step off now and run along back to your whore before I am forced to break both for fucking legs.”
“You would know all about whores wouldn’t you Dad. You married two of them.” Isabelle gasped stepping away from Jordan and Jaiden.
“You fucking bastard!” Dayne lunged for Jaiden but Jordan’s fist already slammed into Jaiden’s jaw knocking him back.
Jaiden shook off the blow and without thinking swung and punched Jordan, from there all hell broke loose. Jordan and Jaiden were yelling while Dayne was trying to attack his brother. Marc, Fate and Leila hurried to break them up.
Isabelle watched through her tears too shocked to move. She winced when she felt her chest tighten her breath caught in her throat a dull ache shooting up and down her left arm.
The colour drained from her face and she began shedding pearls of cold sweat. She fought to breathe but the ache in her chest intensified leaving her breathless.
“Jordan...” she gasped inaudibly. She crumbled to the floor knocking her head on the side of the coffee table before she
slipped into a world of darkness...
