Chapter 33
Orlando was nervous as he reached the bottom of the stairs. All he wanted to do was run back upstairs, hide in his room and play with Jack. He was so excited about tonight, this was his night. Eric was here, and he received a puppy for his birthday. But as he peeked out his window and seen all the dressed up strangers, he quickly changed his mind.
He was about to turn and run, when he felt a presence standing behind him. Turning he saw the blond giant that was supposed to be his personal bodyguard looking down at him. Ice blue eyes met dark brown ones and for just a second Orlando saw the man’s lips turn up slightly and for some reason he started to lose his nerve.
Orlando jerked when he heard a loud cough, turning he saw Sean staring intently at them. The hitman’s furious green eyes were narrowed staring at Brad. Ducking his head, Orlando turned his back to them just in time to see Vin coming through the back door.
He watched his stepfather as he walked up to him, taking his hands Vin whispered, “Beautiful.”
He tried to smile, he really did but he just couldn’t quite pull it off. God he couldn’t wait until he turned 18, he wanted, no needed to get out of here. Pulled out of his thoughts from a hand on his shoulders, Orlando was ushered to the back door. As he stepped through the back door onto the patio, he has greeted with the sight of strangers staring at him. Shielding himself from strange eyes, he leaned closer to Vin. “Vin please, I want to go back inside.”
Vin looked down and saw Orlando’s face buried into his side and his face hardened. “Come love,” he said jerking a little on the youth’s arm. “Do not embarrass me, or else.” Vin heated whisper filled the lovely delicate shaped ear.
Orlando straightened, his brown eyes staring deep into icy gray ones. Gulping he knew when Vin meant business and this was one of the times. His eyes returned to the crowd that was staring openly at him, he tried to convince himself that his bodyguard would protect him. Glancing back he noticed no one was there.
Satisfied Vin grabbed Orlando’s elbow and started to head down into the grassy areas amongst the elite of Detroit, but the jerking of his arm stopped the big man. “Vin, where is Brad and Sean.”
Vin turned and noticed they were alone, “What the fuck?” Vin angrily muttered. Turning back around, he grabbed Orlando shoulders, “You my lovely darling, stay right here. Do not move!”
Orlando watch as Vin turned and stomped to the back door and openen it. Orlando turned; people were staring at him, some with curious looks and some with lust in their eyes. Quickly Orlando averted his eyes down to the ground, trying to make himself as small as possible. Shifting from one foot to another, he whirled around bumping into a dark hair man holding a tray of wine glasses.
“Excuse me, would you care for a drink?” the dark hair main asked, his intense dark eyes scanning the youth up and down.
Orlando eased back several spaces, his eyes darting from the man to the back door. This guy was giving him the creeps, the way the man’s intense dark eyes scanned him.
Christian smiled gently at the scared young man. He didn’t want to scare the boy off, but wondered how in the hell he got so lucky finding Orlando alone. Gently he slide is hand into this jacket pocket pulling out the top of the cell phone, quickly taking several pictures.
Just as Orlando was about to make his escape, the door was jerked open and a very angry Vin came out. Vin narrowed his eyes as he spotted a dark haired man standing close to Orlando. “Both, Sean and Brad are going to pay for this,” Vin muttered, stomping his way toward Orlando.
Christian noticed Orlando was staring at something, Christian turned to see. He gulped as he seen a very large and angry mob boss coming toward them. Taking his hand out of his pocket, he turned toward Vin.
“Would you care for a drink, sir?” Christian asked putting on his brightest smile.
Vin stopped, his cold gray eyes staring into the dark eyes. He looked the young man up and down, he turned toward his angel. Leaning in he whispered into Orlando’s ear. “Are you ok, love?”
Orlando looked at the waiter, then back at Vin. “Yes………”
Vin turned back to Christian, his face was hard and unforgiving. Vin was about to open his mouth and tell the man, how dare he even think he could say anything to Orlando but something caught his attention. Brad had come out and was walking toward them, glancing at the dark haired waiter, his eyes sliding up and down the waiter’s body seeing if the man could be a potential danger.
“It’s good you decided you wanted to keep you job,” Vin’s voice sneered, his attention focused on Brad now.
Brad stood straighter, his jaw hardening. His eyes shifted to Orlando and he seems to melt under those dark brown eyes. “Sorry, Mr. Diesel,” Brad muttered.
Satisfied Vin turned back to Orlando, “Come my sweet, this is your party after all,” Vin said steering Orlando toward his guests.
Brad’s blue eyes met those of the waiter, causing the waiter to look away. For some reason he had a bad feeling about the shifty man. Just glancing at the man, things didn’t seem to add up. For one thing, the guy seemed so nervous and another he seemed too built to be just a waiter. ‘I will definately have to keep an eye on that man,’ Brad thought as he turned and followed Vin and Orlando.
Christian’s eyes followed the blond giant; he saw the look the bodyguard was giving him. Christian shivered, for some strange reason he felt the bodyguard knew exactly who he was and why he was here. Also, what happened to Heath, Orlando’s old bodyguard and who was this new bodyguard? Maybe it as time for him to exit the party, he got what his boss wanted. Yes, he needed to get out of here as quickly as he could.
Turning, Christian walked into the opposite direction. He discretely tried to make his way into the house. He knew there were eyes everywhere. Stopping every few feet, asking the richly dressed guest if they would like to have some wine, turning he saw one of Vin’s hooligans staring at him. He knew the man very well for he had several encounters with him, jerking back around showing those piercing dark eyes his back he kept heading toward the servant entrance.
Colin stared at him, he knew he’d met that waiter before but just couldn’t place where he had seen him before. As Colin started to head toward the man, he was distracted by Sean’s voice coming through his earpiece. After Sean’s several strict orders Colin finally looked up searching for the familiar waiter. Glancing around the dark hair man was gone. Shrugging, Colin’s eyes searched out Vin and Orlando. Seeing Brad muscular back blocking his view from them every so often was something to look at. Colin smirked as his eyes traveled down to those taunted buttocks. “Damn what a fine ass,” Colin muttered
Christian looked over his shoulder as he finally made it to the servant door, he saw that the hitman’s attention was drawn to something else and easily slip in the servant’s entrance unnoticed. As he walked into the kitchen he could see cooks and waiters rushing putting drinks and food on trays, setting his tray down Christian made his way down the hall leading to the servant bathrooms. As he reached the door, he noticed it was locked so he stood by the door. Now he needed to figure out how to get out of this place.
As he was standing there he noticed a man and woman walking down the hall talking rather distressingly. Christian lowered his head as they passed by him.
“How in the hell could this happen,” the man voice was hard and demanding.
“I don’t know sir, everything was planned out, I can’t believe the truck just disappeared.” the woman with the clip board said. She was looking down at it with a confused look on her face.
“I’m already short handed, I can’t spare anyone to go and get it,” the man snared. “We have to have lobster and I my chef’s do not have lobster and it is the main coarse.”
Christian smiled, “Thank you boss,” Christian muttered as he followed the two people up the hall.

Brad surveyed the people around him, his eyes focused on anything potentially dangerous. Shifting his eyes he focused on the back of Orlando’s head. He felt sorry for the boy; this was no way for a sixteen year old to spend his birthday. Anyone who had eyes could see the boy was bored to death, did anyone not have any compassion.
Brad felt Orlando shift closer, the boy head turned half his dark eyes looking straight into his soul. Brad stepped closer giving the boy all of his strength as Vin walk a couple of spaces talking to someone, leaving Orlando alone.
Brad leaned over and whispered, “Mr. Bloom, you are being so brave.”
Orlando turned his dark eyes staring up; a slight smile passed his lips. “Thank you.”
“Anything, I can do for, you just ask,” Brad smiled gently as the young man.
Orlando blushed, nodding his head.
Brad was about to say something but noticed Orlando was looking in another direction. He followed what the young man vision and saw a very angry dark hair young man coming toward them. Grabbing Orlando by the arm, he pulled the young man behind him.
“No,” a soft voice whispered behind Brad muscular back.
Brad could feel hands pushing his back, and he turned and looked at Orlando. Those big brown eyes were sucking him in as he stared at them.
“It’s ok, he is my brother,” the soft voice whispered between them, then Orlando stepped around his bodyguard and ran toward his brother.
Brad watched in astonishment as the anger in the young man’s face turned into love in a blink of an eye. Brad was about to walk up to them but for some reason he felt out of place, so he stood back and watched the brothers talk to each other. The boy’s face radiated happiness, something he hadn’t seen since he met him. It was like watching the sun breaking through the clouds at dawn, you couldn’t look away with such beauty. But like any new day a chance of a thunderstorm was always possible and by the look on Vin’s face a storm was coming. ‘But why the man would be mad for Orlando to spend time with his brother?” Brad wondered.
Vin was talking to a potential partner, when out of the corner of his eye he notices Orlando run to his brother Eric. People around them were watching with interest as they were making a scene with all the hugging and laughing they were doing. ‘Where in the fuck was Brad and why in the fuck was he allowing this.’
