Family Value's
Chapter:Thirty-Three: Family Values.
“Leila?”
Leila looked up from the diamond ring she was twirling on her finger thoughtfully and smiled sadly at her fiancé.
“How am I supposed to enjoy this when my family is falling apart?” she asked her blue eyes peering up at him.
Marc looked down at her stroking her hair slowly. “Baby, things will get better. It’ll take time but they will.”
Leila bit her lip thoughtfully. “I can’t stand this Marc; my brothers are each other’s throats. I’m worried about Jaiden I know he loves Eyvah but I don’t trust her. I mean what kind of a girl comes between brothers?” she said sitting up from Marc’s lap.
Marc frowned. “Leila I understand how Jaiden feels, I know more than anyone what it feels like to love someone you can’t have. It’s impossible to fight it, if it wasn’t, you and I wouldn’t be where we are today.”Marc told her while pulling her into his lap and wrapping his arms around her waist.
“I know, I really do, I just hate that he couldn’t talk to Dayne, or me, why couldn’t he come to me I would have helped him.” Leila said sighing. “I miss him.” she added dropping her gaze.
“Baby, I know you’re dying to see him, so why don’t you just go and let him know that you understand show him that he’s not alone.” Marc said gazing in to her eyes.
Leila nodded, “Yeah, okay. I’ll go and see him—but what if he doesn’t wanna see me?” she asked chewing on her bottom lip worriedly.
“He will, just go try fix this mess.” He assured her before pressing a kiss to her temple.
Leila scrambled to her feet and smiled before hurrying out of the house.

Dayne raised his hand to knock on Fate’s door when he noticed it was slightly ajar. He heard Fates voice coming from inside. He pushed the door open and stepped in warily.
“No, you listen to me I have been paying you for three months and you still haven’t come up with a single thing. I’m not giving you another dime until you give me something...anything on the whereabouts of my son.” She shrieked.
Dayne walked into the living room and saw Fate pacing up and down yelling down the phone. “I don’t give a shit about your personal problems you asshole. I am not paying you to sit around on you fat ass all day, I want results and I want them now!” she yelled and stopped when she saw Dayne standing the doorway.
She sighed heavily and closed her eyes. “No, I just want my son damn it. I hired you for a reason, I was told you were the best how is it you still haven’t found a single thing.” She growled through her gritted teeth. She paused and scowled deeply.
“I told you I’m not paying you a single penny until you give me something. Yeah, well SCREW YOU ASSHOLE!” she yelled and hurled the phone she watched as it smashed into a million pieces.
Dayne moved to her side just as she dropped on the sofa her shoulders shaking. “This is hopeless no one knows where he is. It’s like he doesn’t even exist.” She cried burying her face into Dayne’s chest.
“Fate, come on we can’t lose hope. We will find him, wherever he is.” He assured her.
Fate lifted her head and looked at him. “Has your father come up with anything yet?” she asked a little hopeful but that
deflated when Dayne shook his head.
“No, not yet. But it’s only been a few days; he will find something soon, my dad’s on his back he won’t give up until he finds
out something.” He told her pressing a kiss to her forehead.
“What if we never find him?” she asked her eyes filled with tears. “What if I never see him again, Dayne I don’t think I can handle that.”
Dayne shook his head. “We will find him. I’m not giving up until I do. I don’t care how long it takes.” He said with determination. Fate nodded wiping her tears away she stood up and walked out of the room towards the bathroom.
Dayne watched her leave the room and sighed, his blue eyes fell on the table in front of him he saw a letter with ‘Final Notice’ printed on the top with bold red letters.
Curious he leaned over and picked it up. Unfolding the letter he frowned when he realised it was an eviction letter. “Miss Cunningham, Due to missing last month’s rent I am forced to ask you to vacate the property in the next two days. If you refuse to co-operate I will be forced to take legal action against you...” Dayne read silently and shook his head.
“What are you doing?” Fate asked once she walked in. She had a scowl on her face clearly not impressed with Dayne.
“Why didn’t you tell me about this?” he questioned his brows knitted together. Fate sighed and in two steps she reached over to
take the letter from him but he pulled it back glaring at her.
“Why should I have told you, it’s got nothing to do with you?” she questioned reaching for the letter again and glared at Dayne when he pulled it away again. “Give me the letter.” She said holding out her hand.
“Fate, why didn’t you come to me if you were having problems, I would have helped you?” he said standing from the sofa.
“I don’t need your help I can take care of myself.” She said stubbornly. “The only thing I do need your help with is finding my son, that’s all.” She said trying to take the letter back but Dayne put it behind him.
“Well obviously you’re wrong; you clearly can’t afford this place.” He told her simply.
“Look, its fine I already spoke to the landlord he’s willing to give me a few more days to come up with the rent. I have a job now so I’ll be fine.”
“Where you working?” Dayne questioned and noticed she froze for a second.
“Uhm, a diner I’m a waitress.” She said dropping her gaze but not quickly enough because Dayne caught the guilty look in her
eyes. She must have forgotten it was Dayne she was talking to. He knew everything there needs to known about her and in that moment he knew she was lying to him.
He nodded nonetheless and handed her the letter. “If you nee-”
“-I don’t” she said quickly ending the conversation. “You should go I need to get ready for work.” She said meeting his gaze.
“Alright, I’ll call you if find out anything.” he said and stepped closer to her. Fate didn’t move she just pulled her head back and looked up at him with wide brown eyes.
“Okay.” She breathed and swallowed hard. Dayne’s blue eyes flickered down to her lips then to her eyes again. He leaned in and pressed his warm lips to her forehead.
“I’ll see you later.” He said and stepped back turning to leave. Fate watched him leave and held her breath until she heard the
door click shut.
-----
An hour later Fate walked out of her apartment building and headed towards her car. She was completely oblivious to the fact that she was being watched with a pair of intense blue eyes.
Dayne followed Fate discreetly until she pulled up outside a strip club called ‘TOXIC’ she stepped out of her car and walked inside with a bag. “Son of a...” Dayne cursed as he watched the mother of his child enter a strip club.
He hopped out of his car and locked it before going in after her. He entered the club and was greeted with two beefy guards. He pulled out hundred dollar bills and handed it to them and walked in without so much as a question.
The inside was smoky lights flickering on and off in time with music that was playing. He walked further his eyes scanning the club for Fate but couldn’t see her anywhere.
He settled at the bar and waited for the barman to come over to him. “Hey man, what can I get ya?” he asked leaning in.
“A cold one.” He said simply before looking around the club again. A cold beer was placed in front of him and he looked up at barman again. He pulled out some cash and gave it to him. “Hey you wouldn’t happen to know where I can find Fate Cunningham?” Dayne asked.
“Fate?” the barman asked and Dayne nodded.
“Yeah, she’s about five foot two, long dark hair, attractive?” The barman narrowed his eyes, “She’s supposedly new around here.” He added.
“Oh, right you mean Yazmin. She just walked in she should be up in a few minutes?” he told Dayne while wiping the bar. “You want a one on one she’s up for hourly but you better hurry, guys in here trip over themselves to have her.”
Dayne’s jaw clenched. “I’m sorry; she’s up hourly for what exactly?”
“Private strip bro.” The barman said and he walked off to serve another customer.
“Hey how do I book her?” Dayne asked after him. He barman pointed over to a tall man sitting alone at a table chewing on a
toothpick. He nodded and made his way over to the guy.
“What can I do for you, my man?” The guy asked without even looking at Dayne.
“I wanted to book Fa--Yazmin.” He corrected with a grimace.
“Sure, but she’ll cost ya.” He said flicking the toothpick in his mouth and finally looked up at him and his eyes grew.
“Well I’ll be damned, you’re one of the Callaway boys aren’t you?” he asked twisting to look at Dayne who resisted the urge to
roll his eyes.
“Yeah, so now you know money isn’t an issue you gonna book her for me or what?” Dayne asked narrowing his blue eyes at the older man who grinned. The music changed and lights began blinking quickly.
“Take a seat, there’s your girl right now. After she’s done on stage go find room 105 and I’ll send her to ya.” Dayne nodded and sat where Fate couldn’t see him. She stepped out on stage and Dayne almost gasped had he not been annoyed.
She was wearing a pair of shorts that didn’t even cover her ass and on top she was wearing a skimpy top that showed off her cleavage. She definitely looked the part.
The song Fergalicious began thundering through the speakers as she began dancing upon the pole. Dayne was a little impressed by her moves but he was still irritated and his expression showed it.
By the time Dayne finished his beer Fate finished her set on stage and he made his way to one of the private rooms.
He sat down on the sofa and glared menacingly at the door waiting for her come in. The door opened a minute later and Fate entered in a different outfit and her hair was pulled up into a tight ponytail.
Dayne was sprawled out on the sofa his knees wide apart his right hand but his lips glaring at her. Fate gasped when she saw him her eyes wide.
“Dayne...” she mumbled.
Dayne tilted his head to the side and studied her narrowing his eyes. “Hey, so what’s good to eat here?” he asked coolly but
Fate caught the tone and gulped.
“What are you doing here?” she asked dropping her gaze.
Dayne shook his head, “Why did you lie to me?” he demanded lowly.
“Did you follow me?” Fate asked placing her hands at her hips glaring right back at him.
“Answer my damn question?” Dayne snapped angrily. Fate closed her eyes and sighed.
“Because I knew you would do this.” She said annoyed.
“You’re damn fucking right; you don’t belong in a place like this Fate.” Dayne said getting up to his feet. “We’re leaving.”
“I can’t leave I need this job. What I do has nothing to do with you Dayne, why are you even here?” she snapped looking up at
him.
Dayne took a hold of her shoulders and yanked her into him. “You are the mother of my child. It has everything to do with me when you strip off in front of a bunch of sleazy men. If you needed money you should have told me!”
“I don’t need your money, I can take care of myself I’m not your fucking charity case.” Fate snapped pulling herself out of Dayne’s hold.
“There are million jobs out there Fate why THIS, you didn’t have to become a fucking stripper. If you think I’m going to leave you here you have another thing coming, do you hear me?” Dayne barked.
“In case you’ve forgotten you’re not my boyfriend anymore so you don’t have a say in how I earn my goddamn money.”
“Fate, don’t aggravate me. Because of me you’re well known around here I will not have people talk shit about the mother of my
child, understand?”
“Do you fucking think I enjoy taking my clothes off for complete strangers, I hate it okay? This isn’t who I am but I’m doing everything I can to earn the money to get by and pay the fucking investigators to find our son. This is the quickest way to
earn cash so I can do all that.”
“I told you I would take care of it, money isn’t a fucking issue to me you know that.”
Fate rolled her eyes and shook her head. “You think I don’t know what people around here think about me? I will not have them
thinking I’ve come running back to you for your money and status, because I haven’t I don’t want your money, I don’t need it.”
“For fucks sake Fate!”
“I’m not something you own, Dayne. You can’t just offer me money and expect everything to be okay.”
“I wanna look after you is that so fucking bad?”
“Why are you always trying to save me?”
“Because I fucking love you, alright I love you and I never stopped not for a single second.” He said angrily.
Fate looked at him tears drowned her eyes. “You said you moved on?”
“I lied.”
“Why?” she asked.
“Because, I wanted to hurt you like you hurt me. I couldn’t get over you and now we have a second chance to be together I don’t
want to lose you again.” He admitted and sat on the sofa.
“You want us to be together again?” she asked a little surprised when Dayne nodded.
“Yeah, I was going to wait till we found our baby but I can’t. I want you back Fate, for good this time.” He told her
earnestly.
Fate crossed her arms over her chest. “And what about your family?” she asked sitting down beside him.
“My parents obviously already know about what happened back then, so the only ones that don’t know are Leila and Jaiden. I think my mother’s secretly rooting for us to get back together, she always liked you.” Fate smiled a little.
“Yeah, she’s amazing. I only wish I could be half the mother she is someday.” Dayne smiled grateful for her words.
“You will be.” He said looking at her sideways. “So what do you say wanna be my girl again?” he asked casually.
Fate’s eyes lit up. “More than anything.” she said then frowned “Uh, except for our son.” Dayne chuckled.
“Well, I should hope not. Come here...” he said pulling her into his lap. He grinned impishly, “So what can a guy get for five hundred bucks these days?” he said quoting his father.
Fate caught on and arched a brow. “Just a lap dance.” She said twisting to straddle him. Dayne’s eyes darkened suddenly.
“You’ve given men lap dances...like this?” he questioned grasping her tiny waist.
Fate smirked. “Actually you’ll be my first.” She said and saw the shadow in his eyes disappear.
“Well in that case I’m flattered. How about we get you fired for acting improperly with a client, hmm?”
“You have a nasty mind, Dayne Callaway. Beside’s they won’t fire me for that I make this place way too much money.” She admitted with a shrug.
Dayne nodded, “Yeah I saw your pole dancing moves, where the hell did you learn to move like that?”
Fate bit her lip guiltily and Dayne frowned. “Uhm, your sister taught me, actually.” She said and winced when Dayne glared.
“I’m not even gonna ask.” He said shaking his head grimacing disgusted. “So about this lap dance, is that really all I get for five hundred dollars?” he asked his brows rose suggestively.
“Yes, but you know maybe I can throw a few extras free of charge.” She said leaning closer to his lips.
“Like what kind of extra’s?”
“Like this...” she said sealing their lips together again after a six month separation. Dayne moaned when their tongues touched
and began dancing together rhythmically.
They ended the kiss minutes later breathless. Fate looked into his eyes and smiled. “Get me out of here.”
Dayne grinned, “With pleasure.” He said and they both left the strip club in each other’s arms and kissing. Of course what they didn’t see was the camera clicking pictures of them as the strolled off into Dayne’s car and drove off into the night.
The man taking the picture smiled and took out a pen and paper before doodling the slogan ‘Fate & Dayne together again!’

Leila exhaled deeply before she knocked on Eyvah’s door. She tapped her foot impatiently while waiting for her to answer.
After a minute Leila thumped on the door harder using her fist. The door swung open after a second leaving Leila with her fist in the air. She arched a brow when she took in Eyvah’s dishevelled appearance. Her lips were red and swollen, her hair was tousled and her clothes were askew.
“Leila?” Eyvah said smoothing out her hair.
Leila scowled at the younger girl. “I need to speak to Jaiden.” She said curtly glaring at her.
Eyvah nodded, “Sure.” She stepped inside a little. “Jaiden, someone’s here for you.” she called out and smiled nervously at
Leila.
“Who is it?” Jaiden’s voice came from inside, Eyvah gestured to Leila with her head. Jaiden came to the door in pretty much the
same state as Eyvah except he was topless and his jeans were a unbuttoned showing the waistband of his boxers.
“Leila?” he said with a frown. “What are you doing here?”
Leila cleared her throat and sighed. “I’m here to talk to you. Wanna go someplace?” she took in his appearance and
grimaced. “Maybe, after you put some clothes on?”
Jaiden nodded, “Yeah alright. Give me a few minutes I’ll meet you at your car.” He said. Leila nodded and walked back to her car to wait for her brother.
Jaiden pulled on his shirt and fixed up his jeans. Eyvah watched as he slipped his shoes on and stood up. “Are you going to tell her?” she asked looking up at him.
Jaiden shrugged. “I’m going to have to, no point in hiding it, right?” he asked moving over to her. Eyvah nodded chewing her lips nervously. “Don’t worry, it’ll be okay.” He assured her, leaning forward he kissed her chastely on the lips before walking out.
Jaiden opened the passenger side door and slipped in to Leila’s car. “Where we going?” he asked once Leila began driving.
She shrugged, “I dunno, we can go get some coffee or ice cream. We haven’t done that in a while?” she suggested glancing at him sideways.
Jaiden nodded, “Yeah, sure whatever.” He said shrugging. Leila sighed looking back at the road.
“How have you been, anyway?” she asked and noticed Jaiden tensed a little.
“I’m alright how’s everyone else... how’s Mom?” he questioned his blue eyes meeting hers for a moment.
“Not good, Jaiden, she’s missing you terribly, we all are.” She said smiling sadly at her brother.
“I doubt that.” he mumbled watching the cars roll by. “How’s Dayne?” he asked quietly.
“I don’t know to be honest with you. I haven’t seen much of him for the past week, mom says he’s been busy with stuff. You know he’s moved in to the manor?”
Jaiden frowned. “Why?”
“He had a fight with Kat about something; apparently she told him she never really wanted him so he moved out.”
Jaiden scowled. “Bitch.” He muttered icily. Leila smiled discreetly as she pulled over at an ice cream parlour.
They took a seat and both ordered two cappuccinos with extra foam and a couple of muffins. When Leila leaned over to take a few
napkins Jaiden caught sight of her ring and grasped her hand before she pulled it back.
“What’s this?” he asked with a frown. “You’re engaged?”
“Yeah, Marc popped the question a few hours ago. No one knows yet though.” She said pulling her hand back and dropping it in
her lap.
“Why haven’t you told anyone?” Jaiden questioned leaning back into his chair. Leila sighed stirring her coffee.
“Because, an engagement is something to celebrate, how can I do that when my family is in shambles?” she said dropping her gaze. Jaiden felt a pang of guilt in his chest and sighed.
“I’m sorry Leila, but for what’s worth I’m really happy for you.” he said smiling at her. Leila nodded not looking at him.
“When are you going back home, Jaiden?” she questioned lifting her eyes to meet his. Jaiden shook his head.
“I’m not, Leila. My life is with Eyvah now.” He said dimly. Leila shook her head.
“Jaiden, I know you love her, I understand I really do. Just give it time, they will accept Eyvah sooner or later and Dayne will probably forgive you too. Just come back home and show them you’re willing to make things right.”
Jaiden licked his lips and shook his head. “You don’t understand. I’m not coming back home, I won’t leave Eyvah and not only because I love her but because she’s my wife.” He said and watched Leila froze the mug she was holding slipped out of her fingers and smashed on the ground.
“You...you’re what?” she stammered.
Jaiden sighed, “My wife. We got married a few days ago.” He told her like it was the most casual thing in the world.
“Oh my...God.” Leila said shocked. “What the hell possessed you do such a stupid thing?” she asked shaking her head.
“Leila I love her. How else were we supposed to prove were serious about each other?”
Leila looked alarmed. “Jaiden....who’s idea was it?” she asked and Jaiden looked confused. “answer me!” she snapped.
“Well it was Eyvah’s but--” he began but Leila looked livid.
“Please...please I am begging you, tell me you were at least smart enough to make her sign a pre-nup?”
“No, I didn’t.” Jaiden admitted. Leila closed her eyes and shook her head.
“You...stupid...idiot!” she shrieked. “Jaiden how could you be so stupid, do you have any idea what you’ve done?!”
“What the hell are you barking on about?” Jaiden snapped hotly. Leila looked at him with disbelief.
“You signed away everything our family has worked for. If she files for a divorce she can take us to the cleaners. You do know
that right?”
Jaiden shook his head. “She wouldn’t do that.”
“Oh no, why the hell do you think she married you, you idiot. You let a girl manipulate you; for goodness sake even mom signed
a pre-nup so is Marc.”
“What are you talking about; Mom didn’t sign a pre-nup?” Jaiden said.
“Yes she did, Dad didn’t want her to but she still did to prove she wasn’t after his MONEY!” Leila yelled massaging her
temples. “I can’t believe you, Jaiden. This is going to destroy this family I hope you’re fucking happy.”
“You’re overreacting Leila, Eyvah wouldn’t do that to me, she loves me.” Jaiden said getting up from his seat.
“I hope for our family’s sake you’re right, but for now, keep your mouth shut until we figure this out.” She said and walked out of the ice cream parlour leaving Jaiden behind swarming with doubt.
Leila paged everyone and told them there was an emergency meeting and to meet her at home right away.
She couldn’t believe how much of an idiot her brother was. He just literally gambled away her family’s fortune, their house, the business everything could be gone if that bitch decides ditch Jaiden and file for divorce.
She swung by hers and Marc place and picked him and Melis up before going to her family home. Marc regarded his fiancé and noticed the anger and concern in her eyes. She was tense and it showed.
“Baby, what going on what happened?” Marc asked curiously. Leila shook her head.
“You’ll find out soon enough.” She said they drove through the gate after punching in the code.
Jordan and Isabelle followed shortly along with Dayne and Fate. Leila who was pacing up and down in the living room froze when she saw Fate with Dayne.
“What the hell is she doing here?” she questioned scowling.
“We’re back together again.” Dayne said taking Fates hand in his. Leila gaped at him.
“Has everyone in this family lost their minds?” she asked hysterically.
Dayne sighed. “Leila, it’s not what you think, we’ll talk about this later, okay?” he assured her she shook her head.
Isabelle watched as her daughter paced back and forth. “What’s going on Leila? What’s with the emergency meeting?” Jordan asked
with a frown.
Leila sighed and closed her eyes. “It’s about Jaiden.” She said. “He’s married...”
