“Leslie, you should eat first. One symptom I had was extreme hungry. My appetite returned to normal later,” Ethan said, when Leslie came through the door.

“Extreme hungry. I won’t eat anyone.”

“I didn’t, but I’m used to the strong urge for raw flesh.” Ethan was still dressed from shopping. “I brought out the meat selection of Costco.”

“Not literally,” Leslie asked.

“Three hundred dollars worth,” Ethan said.

“If this works, I’ll pay you back for the food,” Leslie said.

“Just invite the wife and I over for dinner,” Ethan said. “Relax. Lie on the floor. I’ll get you a few pillows to hold or would you prefer to beat on one of the girls’ teddy bears?”

“Pillows are fine.” Leslie lay on top of the comforter and took hold of a large throw pillow and laid her head on top of two others. “I’m relaxed.”

“Stay calm as possible. I’ll keep Ryan company as he does the curse.” Ethan left Leslie in the living room and joined Ryan in the kitchen.

Ryan, wearing only an apron, mixed the potion in his double boiler and heated it until it boiled. He recited the words of the curse. Leslie screamed and then there was no sound. Ryan and Ethan ran into the room. Leslie was on the floor not breathing. “She’s dead,” Ryan said.

“Great. We have a dead cop in our living room,” Ethan said.

“She died of natural causes.”

Ethan pulled the blanket down. “I killed her. They won\'t believe that it\'s a natural death. We\'ll be burned as witches.”

“I’m the one who read the words,” Ryan said. “Let’s call 911.”

Ethan dialed and told the operator that they needed an ambulance. \"It looked like a heart attack.”

“We should do CPR,” Ryan said.

“What’s the point?” Ethan started sobbing.

“Do it anyway,” Ryan said before starting mouth-to-mouth. Ethan started pumping her chest.

The paramedics arrived and took over.

\"I’m her friend. We worked in the same department in Kettlefire for over two years,” Ethan said.

“Go with them in the ambulance,” Ryan said. “Maybe they can bring her back.”

Ethan started crying. The paramedics put Leslie into the back of the ambulance. “Did you get her heart started?” Ethan asked.

“Not yet,\" one of the paramedics said.

Leslie was announced DOA.

Ethan sobbed as he called for a cab. He wrapped his arms around Ryan as he got home. “We shouldn’t have tried it. She was too damn tall..” Ethan cried.

“Jake told me that tall werewolves were killed by the pack. They had trouble transforming but it didn’t kill them,” Ryan explained.

“It killed Leslie,” Ethan said.

“We told her the risk,” Ryan said. “No one will blame us for her death.\"

“Her father knows what I am.” Ethan paced the floor.

Ryan put his arms out to Ethan. “Come here. Take off those clothes and snu wit with me.”

“I hate what I am.”

“You can’t change it.” Ryan touched his arm.

Ethan smelled female werewolves as he took his clothes off. “Where are the ladies?”

“In the kitchen,” Ryan said. “Like you had to ask.”

Ethan went into kitchen. Ria and Nici were making food for the girls. “I’m sure Ryan told you.”

“I’m sorry.” Ria hugged him. “Ryan and you tried. It was a risk; she was too tall. It was an old spell and a curse if half the victim die so what.”

“I had no idea,” Ethan said. “It worked on me.”

“What does that mean?” Ria asked.

“I don’t know. I’m stronger, my appetite is larger, my hair is fuller, and teeth are sharper. I was a werewolf before Ryan cursed me; it wasn’t going to change me that much.”

“You risked your own life for your friend,” Nici said. “It could have been a curse that killed werewolves.”

“Then, both Ryan and I would be dead now and there would be no point discussing it.” Ethan picked up his daughter. “How is my baby?”

Anna cooed.
