Maggie walked quickly down the sidewalk, she looked back to see her truck. She looked back forward as she weaved through a group of ladies who were pushing some strollers. She saw the long line of cars as some of them double parked.
Maggie glanced at her watched as she realized she was five minutes late. “Mel is gonna kill me,” she mumbled as she increased the pace.
She stood in front of the sliding gate looked around as she realized it wasn't late. She took a deep breath full of relief as she felt a woman with a baby in arms standing next to her.
Soon the gate opened and then the ringing of the bell echoed loudly followed by the chatter and scream of children talking and laughing. Maggie attentively looked in anticipation, as she saw the bundle of pride she was looking for.
She waved enthusiastically trying to get the little girls attention. She smile widely when bright caramel eyes connected with hers. The dirty blond hair bounce up and down as she ran out the gate and hugged Maggie's leg.
“Grandma!,” she greeted as Maggie lifted her up.
“How was your day?” Maggie greeted as she gave her a big kiss on the cheek and set her down.
“It was fun, we painted with our hands.” Proudly she showed her paint stained hand.
“what did you paint?” Maggie asked as she crossed the street and unlocked the truck.
“I painted two things,” she exclaimed while holding two fingers up. Maggie sat her in the back seat and did her seat belt as she got in the front.
“Look,” Maggie craned her neck and looked at the back seat to see a crumpled paper with a crude drawing of a tree and and a dog. Maggie smiled.
“that's beautiful,” Maggie exclaimed, “and look at this.” She held up another piece of paper but this one was less crumple.
Maggie felt a pang in her heart as she saw a lopsided sailboat and a gray background. With dark blue covering the bottom.
“your mother will be so proud,” Maggie uttered.
(A/N: That is it, sorry if it wasn't as dramatic or I don't know If I left it you with a void or bad taste I swear to you I tried, and for those of you who stuck through it thanks and for those who reviewed it well Thank you very much you have no idea how much it means to me. Well I got options to offer of course a Sequel which right of the bat I'll tell ya I'm not a fan of sequel. Mostly the fear that Imma fuck it up bad. Also I can just write all the diary entries I omitted in the story sort of a lost chapters thing. Or I can just start posting what I'm working on currently, which is a bit dark even for my taste I feel. By the way sorry for the lack of sex in the story but some odd reason, I couldn't work it in. I felt it would be too tacky if I did. I don't know my weird way of contemplating things. Any who that is all.)
