Hybred Dominance: Book One
Chapter Three
A/N: Sorry for yet again a short unedited chapter. I really do hope that it makes all happy. And thank you guys for the awesome reviews. I feel confident enough to keep the story going. Chapter four will be a heck of a lot longer I promise! ;) Happy Howls!!!!!!!
Fucking bears are so persistent and annoying. I turned behind the bar to get some fresh air. It was about time to hit the road, but damn if I didn't need to feed the heat first. And that too was becoming a tedious task in itself with Icy blue Pallas following me around. My wolf and leopard are starting to get really gnarly on me. Maybe they just see the potential of an Alpha to be in him. Or maybe they just want to be dominated and rutted every night by the same person. The biggest problem with this damn heat, was and is the fact that it drains my beast for a good day or so. I had hoped to find a human that I could get cozy with for a few weeks and stick around in this town long enough to knock the heat down for a couple of months, but damn Pallas!
Just thinking of the way he rubbed on me, his blue eyes, his white hair, and those luscious lips was enough for me to want another cigarette. I pulled my pack out of my shirt pocket and cursed myself for only having half a pack left. Lighting one up, I took a drag. The rain had finally stopped, but now it was getting darker and darker by the minute. Maybe I should let my beast out and go for a run. No...can't do that with Pallas around. Most certainly can't do that with Pallas around humans. My beasts want to run to him. But I am not running.
"Well, well, look what smells good tonight." I heard a voice say from behind me. I turned quickly to see the one last person that I never, NEVER, EVER WANTED TO SEE AGAIN.
"How did you find me Howie?" I scoffed at him while taking another drag on my smoke.
"I followed your heat." He wrapped his arms around me from behind. Great, I get to get fondled two times in one day. This really can't get any worst.
"Ferox, you know the pack misses you." He is pouting. "Will you please come home?"
"No." Remember that your answers must always be kept short and simple.
"Awe, why not?"
"Because," I pulled out of his arms to look at him.
"There you are honey!" Oh no he didn't. Howie and I both looked in Pallas's direction just as he snaked one arm around my shoulders. Wait a minute, this could work.
"Oh Pallas, I would like for you to meet my old Alpha, Howie." I gestured to Howie. "Howie, this is Pallas my boyfriend." Probably did not need to add that last bit in, but hey gotta make it sound real. Pallas offered his hand for the introduction.
"Boyfriend?" Howie said as he took the hand.
"Yeah, we've been at it for just about what, a little over a week?" Pallas turned to me and winked.
"Oh Pallas, you goof, you know we are going on two weeks tomorrow." I can not tell if Howie was buying it, but my beasts sure as hell were.
"You have been here with a bear?"
"Yes, is that so hard to believe?" Pallas was trying to be polite to the guy. All I want to do is run away from him, but something in the back of my mind kept telling me that Pallas was the safest place to be right now. I would rather take chances on the guy I don't know than the guy that I do.
"Yeah actually it is." Howie looked me up and down and then looked at Pallas again. "Do you even know what he is?"
"Of course I do." Pallas pulled me closer to him in a protective stance. All I wanted to say was he didn't until you showed up. But Pallas just continued opening his mouth. "He is my cute little Hybrid ."
"Yes but what kind of hybrid ?" Howie was trying to break us.
"Well when it comes to what the beasts are, we decided that would be a surprise. I don't want to get too excited before we have mated ."
"And exactly why haven't the two of you mated yet?" That question I had.
"He hasn't hit his heat yet." I said all shy like I didn't want to talk about it.
"Oh but he has." As the words came out from between Howie's lips I felt Pallas stiffened. "That is why you need to come home Ferox, you are not safe with a bear. You need to be with your own pack." I stood there kind of dumbfounded. I knew that Omegas could not smell heat on others, but damn I wish I had came up with a better excuse and NOT confirm what Pallas really wanted to know all this time.
"You have no right!" Pallas said in a stern voice.
"Oh no bear. It is you who have no right." Howie took a step closer to Pallas. "I have been searching for him for months. He belongs with his pack, and it is my job to get him home before you mess that all up. So kindly remove your hands from MY OMEGA!" Howie's eyes were turning gold.
"This is my territory, and you have no claim to him. He is MINE!" Pallas started to yell. "IF YOU WANT TO TAKE THIS OUT INTO THE WOODS AND SEE WHO COMES OUT ON TOP, THEN BE MY GUEST! JUST REMEMBER AGE BEFORE BRAINS!!!" I didn't think it was possible, but Pallas' eyes were turning a darker blue, and I could see his bear was ready to fight for me. ME! What did I ever do to this bear to make him want to stake a claim on me? I mean, sure, now he knows what I am, but before he didn't.
"Wow! Just wow!" Howie ran his hand through short green hair. "I have heard of bears seeking out Omega wolves , but I really didn't think I would ever meet one. Oh how I hope the boys are hearing all of this."
"I knew you would try for an ambush!" I was pointing at Howie and waving my other hand towards the trees. "I am not going back to you, the pack, or even those wannabe Alphas that gave birth to us.
"Those Alphas are our parents you mutt."
"Wait! What?" Pallas looked me in the eye. "You two are brothers?"
"Yes."
"Half." I glared at Howie.
"Then why the fuck are you rubbing all over him like he is your trophy?" Pallas had taken a step in front of me this time. Wow! He really is determined to keep me now.
"Family business, a runt like you wouldn't understand."
"Oh I understand alright." Pallas started to turn towards me and then he went back and punched Howie in the jaw.
