Unknown territory: Chapter 3
She put her hand on my shoulder, "you might want to stay sitting for this next round..." She grinned as pain shot down my back, which made me arch my back as I hit my head on the concrete. I screamed as I felt the pain move to my arms, hands, and legs, and feet. I felt like my body was being pulled in four different directions by horses being poked by a brander. I heard a loud crack like my bones were breaking, which made me scream even louder. A couple other pops and I turned on my side dry heaved because my stomach was getting a workout. I felt like my stomach and pecs were getting stretched and I could barely breathe. In the distance I could hear that sweet lullaby from my mother. Before I passed out I tried to open my eyes to see her, but it was so blurry that all I could catch was the yellow water lily that was in full bloom above her head...
An hour later the queen sat in the foyer in her chair surrounded by her guards as she talked to Clairissa, and her brother, Yeiri.
They both kneeled, "you may rise," the queen said as they did.
They looked like they were ready to go to a royal ball, but actually this was how you dressed when you presented yourself to the seelie queen.
"To say first I want to thank you for bringing my son to where he rightfully belongs... And to say the least though we did cause some problems on the way here... Right?"
"Yes, my lady," Clairissa said smiling, "I flipped a car, and killed two royal guards of the Vampire king... He\'s still gunning for your family after you got his wife put in jail for almost killing your son..."
"The bitch is right where she belongs..." The queen said smiling, "and Yeiri do you have any idea who set this up?"
"No, my lady, but the prince of vampires was there along with the wolfen prince..."
"Hm, well I guess we\'ll have to see what they try at tomorrow\'s ball... Speaking of which, have you set up the space for this to happen Yeiri?"
He nodded, "I have, and its at the border of Seelie and Unseelie territory where everyone is on equal ground..."
Yeiri looked at the granite tile thinking about Charles.
The queen caught the thought and said, "my son is fine otherwise, thank you for your concern Yeiri..." She smiled as he blushed, "he may be up in an hour or so... So I put him in the room connected to yours so you could keep an eye on him for me..."
The queen stood up yawning, "I shall adjurn to my quarters. And once again you have my thanks... Until the morn."
"My queen..." Yeiri said hesitate, "I dont mean to speak out of turn..."
"Go on, it is alright."
"Does Jaspen know that his real father is king of Unseelie? And that you two were always... sworn enemies? And that, he was born out of a bribe to control the ruling courts as to keep peace between them?"
The queen looked to the granite tile, "unfortunately not, but hopefully he won\'t have to wait long to get the information... And thank you for bringing this up... I almost forgot... Till the next morn to you both..."
"Good night my queen," they both said in unison.
