Chapter 3

This chapter took awhile to write because Michael doesn't like to focus. Hope you like it!

Pain. Lots of pain. That’s the first thing Michael felt when he woke up. He left his eyes closed and groaned. He didn’t bother to move, knowing that if he did his body would feel more pain. His mind attempted to remember to him. That pirate. That stupid bastard.
He slowly tried to open his eyes but found even those were sore. After a few tries he finally got them half opened. They suddenly went wider.

‘What the hell?!’ he thought as he looked around the room. It was quite a nice room and very spacious. But it wasn’t his. What looked like a small alter with small figurines with un-lit candles were set up at the other end of the room. The rest of the room had emblems and fabric with symbols on the walls.
A soft sigh came from the other side of the bed. Michael froze. Oh god. He looked down. There sleeping very peacefully, was the guy from before. And laying beside him was...a gun! Michael first instinct was to get away . Trying to be as quiet as possible, Michael inched away. His hands hit the edge of the bed and before he could stop, his back hit the floor. Hard.

“Owwwwww,” He whined as he rolled to his side. A russle came from the bed. A face appeared over the edge. The face of the man with the gun. Quickly forgetting his pain, Michael screamed and ran for the door. But the man got there first. Michael franticly scanned the room. There were no other doors and the windows were too small to get out of. The man advanced on him slowly and he backed up until he hit a wall. Michael slid down the floor. He covered his face and waited to be killed.

This had gone all wrong. Kail had woken up when he heard something hit the floor and realized that the creature had fallen off the bed. It tried to go to the door. Kail jumped off the bed and blocked the door. He couldn’t have the creature running around the house. Especially this early in the morning. Now the creature was crying on the floor. Kail ran his fingers through his hair. What was he supposed to do? He couldn’t communicate with it. If only he could change his language he could- That’s it! Why didn’t he think of it before? He went over to a drawer and searched through it. Inside was a yellow stone. The transformation stone was a very useful object. It could change something from one thing to another. Hopefully it worked on languages as well. Stone in hand, he knelt in front of the creature. With a deep breath he waved the stone over it. Let him know my words, he thought. Glowing light came from the stone.

“Can you understand me?"
Michael heard English. But no one he had encountered spoke English. He slowly moved his hands.

“Can you understand me?” The man was asking him a question. In English!

“...You can speak English?" Michael asked quietly. Joy and relief flooded his mind and it was quickly followed by anger. This guy could speak English this entire time! That meant all of this was fake. The pirates. The village. This guy. This was all a joke. The bastard!

It worked. Kail couldn’t believe it. Why wasn’t this use for the transformation stone listed in the books? Kail’s cheer lasted for only a few moments. Now the creature was yelling at him.

“Is this some kind of sick joke?!" Michael yelled.

“What?"

“Do enjoy watching a guy get hurt?!"

“I-"

“Who put you up to this? Tim? Was it Tim? And you probably drugged me so i would see that white tunnel. Well let me tell you this is not funny! Im going to call the police and press charges! Do you understand?! You are going to-"

“Can you please stop talking?"

“Or what? You’re going to get your buddies and beat me up again? Or maybe shoot me with that fake gun of yours?"
Kail pulled out the gun from it’s holster.

“This isn’t fake."

“Yeah right. You-"

“Stop talking."

“The jig is up ok? You can stop acting now. And you can put your toy gun away”.
Kail was really getting tired of this guy’s voice. He needed to shut him up. He couldn't focus if the creature kept screaming. He aimed next to the creatures foot and squeezed the trigger. Something that sounded like a firecracker went off and Michael felt heat next to his foot.

“Does that look fake?"

“Oh my god!" Michael starred down at the hole. Ok the gun wasn’t fake.

“Im going to need you to calm down. I don't like it when people yell." Kail pointed the gun at the creature

“How am I supposed to calm down with a gun pointed at me?"

“It’s easy. Take deep breathes."
Michael’s lungs obeyed instantly.

“Are you calmer now?"

“Yes. Can you put your gun away now?'
Kail slid the gun back into it’s holster.

“I don’t know who Tim is,” He said, “and I don’t know what the police are. But I can tell you that this is not a joke."

“This isn’t a joke?" Michael whispered

“No.”
Michael’s brain froze as the word left the other man’s mouth.

“...Oh my god! This is my imagination," Michael yelled.

“What?" Kail wasn’t liking this.

“I’ve dreamed all this up. I’ve finally lost it. That doctor did say that I worked too hard. And now I’ve gone crazy. Oh my god. why?” Michael walked over to the bed and plopped onto, head in his hands. Kail listened as the creature kept repeating oh my god.

“This isn’t you imagination. I’m very real."

“You would say that cause your in my mind." Michael head sunk lower.

“I could prove it to you," Kail suggested.

“How?"

“I could shoot your foot. But since you don’t like the gun, I could use my knife." Kail reached for the knife on his side.

“No no no,” Michael said franticly, his hands up. “That won’t be necessary. Ok. If this place is real, I’m not entirely sure I believe that, but if it were, where might this place be?"

“You are in Oldema Zeim"

“And everyone here dresses like a pirate?"

“We are pirates."

“Yeah right.”
Kail sighed. Dealing with this creature was getting tiresome.

“Before we go any further, we should introduce ourselves,” he proposed. “I am Kail. Captain of the Zeim pirates and protector of the people of Oldema Zeim. Humble servant of the gods.” Kail put his fist over his heart. The creature looked at him with a confused look.

“Umm I’m Michael. College student?”
Kail extended his hand for a handshake. With a smile he said,

“Well Michael, welcome to Oldema Zeim.”
