I think I got Shit on my shoe...
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
A couple days later, Maddy and Trevor were back in Washington...and so was Dave. In fact, Dave was at the house...watching on the front lawn as Trevor started throwing his shit outta the house. Trevor had put the house up for sale, and he got a few bids. Which was nice. Hopefully the sale would go quickly. It was a nice house too...for a little rambler. In a really nice neighborhood too and out in the woods.. That\'s one thing he\'d miss about living in Washington. Didn\'t matter where you went...the woods weren\'t more than five minues away...and the mountains! God, he\'d miss the mountains too.
Maddy smirked as she tossed Dave\'s X box out the window and it landed with a huge Crash. Dave was on the phone with the police at the moment, trying to get them to come out for vandalizing his property.
Trevor didn\'t care much. Dave didn\'t value the life they\'d built together, so Trevor decided he wouldn\'t value Dave\'s stuff. Even their cat was pissed. Gusty decided that when Dave got home that he hated Dave and pissed on just about everything Dave owned, leaving Trevor\'s stuff alone.
Dave marched up the front steps and into the house, then went up to the master bedroom where the pair were, tossing his stuff out the window. "Guys...guys! stop! Just..fucking stop! Look, Trev..I\'m sorry, alright? But...just...Hey! Put that down!"
Trevor was holding Dave\'s 20 some inch plasma and smirked, "Why should I? This is exactly what you wanted right? For our relationship...oh, wait...we never had a relationship. I was just some guy you lived with...Well..this guy is tired of your crap. So either get packin\'...or we get back ta tossin\'. Cuz I\'m done, man. Done. So get your shit, and get the hell outta my house!"
Dave glared at him, "It\'s not your fucking house, Trevor!"
"Is your name on the mortgage?"
"Well, no..."
"Who\'s is?"
"Yours..but that\'s..-"
"No! Shut it. I pay the bills, it\'s my fucking house. So...again...get your shit..and the fuck outta my life." Trevor put the TV down, then turned and left the room, heading down to the kitchen for some coffee. He rubbed his face, then sighed when the door bell rang. Frowning, he went to the door and smiled at the police officers on the other side, "Good afternoon, officers...can I help you?"
The taller of the two cops frowned and looked around, "Uh..we got a call about a domestic disturbance?"
Trevor shook his head, "No disturbance here...just a minor misunderstanding. I\'m kicking my ex out today...but he\'s refusing to leave the premises. See...I own this house. It\'s mine. I bought it. He moved in with me."
The cops nodded and the shorter one sighed, "Can we come in? If he won\'t leave willingly, we\'ll escort him out."
Trevor nodded and smiled, moving out of the way so the nice officers could come inside. "Not to mention he stole almost 12 grand from my bank accounts, my other car, and other various things."
The cops frowned and stood at the bottom of the stairs as Dave came down. He glared at his former lover, "You are a fucking bitch, you know that? After all I\'ve done for you!"
"What..exactly have you done for me, David? You lived in my home, at my food, abused my cat, stole my money...You have done nothing for me these last ten years. Nothing. I\'m just sorry I didn\'t see it before hand."
The shorter of the two cops looked at David, "Sir...We\'re gonna have to ask you to leave the property. Or will make you."
David held his hands up and sighed, "Fine." He looked at Trevor, "This isn\'t over though. You and I are going to talk and sort this out when you\'re calm."
Trevor frowned, "I am calm. And I\'m not talking. I\'ve made myself perfectly clear...You\'re not ending this. I am."
Dave just shook his head and the officers followed him out to his car, making sure he left. When the man was gone, they touched base with Trevor and told him to call if he came back. Trevor promised to do just that...
-------------------------------------------------------
When everyone was gone and it was just Trevor and Maddy, Trevor sat down on the couch with a glass of wine, sighing heavily, "Glad that\'s over with."
"I think you could have handled it a lil better, but eh.."
"I probably could have..but...I...I was just...so angry."
Maddy nodded, "I know, honey, I know. I\'d a killed the bastard. I admire your restraint."
Trevor smirked, "Thanks." He sighed again, softly, then looked out the window. "I\'m really gonna miss this place. We had a lotta good memories here...but..I guess it\'s time to move on... I just..I feel like I wasted a..huge chunk of my life on him, though. Shame I can\'t get like...a rebate or..something for it. Guess he told that whore he\'s gonna marry her...or she got knocked up or some stupid shit. I mean...I know he wanted kids..and I wanted to adopt..but..I just...I dunno."
Maddy moved over to the couch and sat next to him, putting her head on his shoulder, "But..just think of all the dating you get to do."
Trevor made a face and sipped his wine, "I\'m too old for the dating scene."
"You\'re 29. How are you too old?"
"I\'m gay, sweets. It works differently. Your chances of finding a suitable mate go down exponentially as you get older. Sucks, I know..but that\'s the way it goes."
She shrugged and shifted, then looked around, "We should get packing...never mind. I wanna sleep." She leaned over and kissed his cheek, "G\'night babe."
He smiled and returned the kiss, "Night. Sweet dreams..."
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The next day was busy. They spent most of it packing and loading everything into the truck Maddy had rented. God, Trevor hated relying on Maddy for money, but she offered..and he wasn\'t gonna bitch about it. Mostly because he didn\'t wanna get punched in the arm again. She was a feisty lil spitfire.
As the day wound down, Trevor decided one last barbecue was in order and invited most of his friends, that he still had, over for dinner. Only two showed up.
Tony sat in one of the broken lawn chairs and grinned at Trevor as the man cooked the meat on the grill, "I\'m gonna miss ya, buddy..but damn dood....Ya shoulda called. I woulda been over in a heart beat ta kick that bastards ass."
Trevor shrugged, "I\'m still trying to put it behind me. I\'ve never been wronged like that...never. Not even with Craig. Craig cheated, but at least he was up front about it...."
Tony sighed, "Still a bum deal though, man. Yer still gonna come visit, right? N\' call me once in a while?"
Trevor glanced back at his friend, "Yeah..definitely. I got family out here, ya know."
"Oh..right. Yer dad. You tell him yet?"
"Yeah. He wasn\'t too pleased..but he\'s supportive. He never liked Dave either. No one did. That shoulda been a hint. But...Love blinds you to the truth, I guess."
Tony laughed, "Hell yeah, it does. Fuck, man..."
Roberta came out with Maddy and a tray of more food to put on the picnic table. She moved up to Trevor and hugged him tightly, "Oh, I\'m gonna miss you! Things just won\'t be the same without you in the office..."
Trevor offered her a sad smile as he flipped burgers, "Yeah, well...I\'ll miss y\'all too...I can only go up from here, right?"
Roberta snorted, "Lord, I hope so. I\'m gonna be comin\' to visit you...as much as I can. Seattle\'s great, but I do miss Charleston."
"Me too. Slow pace out there...not so cutthroat either." He plated the burgers, then set them on the table, "Alright guys..soups on."
Maddy grinned, "Finally! I\'m starved."
Tony moved up to the table and sat down, sipping his beer, "So..how much more ya gotta pack?"
Trevor sat and sighed, "Oh..not much. Just the smaller furniture...and some other random stuff from the basement. I took a lot to good will. I can always replace Christmas decorations n\' what not...so..yeah...not a whole lot left. Then..I think we\'re headin\' out in a couple days."
Roberta shook her head, "Can\'t believe you two are gonna try drivin\' cross country in this weather....Just be careful, okay?" She reached over and pinched Trevor\'s cheek, "You\'re my lil Sunshine..I don\'t want nothin\' bad happenin\' to you..."
Trevor took her hand and kissed it, "We\'ll be careful, I promise."
