Rampage!!
A/N: Holler! Sorry it took so long to write again. My computer was temporarily down. Mini Thanks.
Jackpot7374: I do apologize for taking so long. Im tickled you like the story. I attend cosmetology school from 9-8 during the week so sometimes I take awhile to update, but I try to do at least two chapters to make up for it.
Also, I know this question will come up at some point. Why DOES Alina not change her name when she is singing? SImply put...She didn't think it would be an issue. She was a singer long before she worked for Haze. She is less concerned with people finding out she's a celebrity and more concerned about them finding out she's a hybrid capable of destroying the mythical world as we know it.
Rampage!!
I winced, stepping away from the large punching bag as my hand stung from the blow. It was new, and hard as a damn rock. Around me, others, vampires and weres mostly, also practiced. I took a deep breathe, trying to clear my aching head. I was exhausted, having only gotten a few hours of sleep before my neighbors had woken me up. That was the only bum part about living in a mostly human apartment complex. They fought constantly. With a growl, I slammed my gloved fist into the red menace, delighting in the thick sound my hit made. I was fully aware of the person now coming up behind me, but didn't slow my routine any. Punch, kick, punch punch, kick, round house, punch. "What do you want?" The low chuckle behind me could only be form the one person besides Haze and that bastard Kashman I didn't want to see. His vampire scent was musky, and often warned me of their presence long before they themselves did. "My my Alina, practicing so hard. Is this all so you can take your new employer?" I whirled around the face the lanky vamp. "And how exactly would you know of my new employer sir stinksalot?" I demanded crossly. He smirked, dark eyes taking in my ragged frame. " The whole office knows of that...word gets round." I growled, promising to severely harm Haze later when I saw him. The were had a big mouth when it came to his male employees..but considering I was the only female, that didn't surprise me. "You just enjoy being the big know it all of the office don't you Ramzy?"
I turned my attention back to the punching bag. Punch, kick, punch punch. I could feel his gaze burrowing a hole into the back of my head, and I was sure if looks could kill, I would be pretty dead. "Its not that im a know it all". He was moving around to be in my line of vision once more. My punches became more aggressive. "Its just...well...Barak Kashman is probably one of the most well known business men in the area". I glanced at him. "So?" He smirked again, and ran a hand through his spiky blonde hair. "Well...it isn't exactly a secret he hires sluts..." I gritted my teeth, my next punch coming off harder then I had meant it to. "And we all know how you enjoy a good fuck.." The following punch was enough to bruise my entire arm. "And I...we...just assumed that...well...perhaps he had taken you on his payroll permanently..." My eyes flashed, and the Vampires smirk was gone, as was he. All the others in the room suddenly stopped in their tracks. The bag I had been taking my frustration out on was now a good 20 feet away, having smashed into the bleachers that lined one side of our little makeshift gym. The sand had spilled out across the floor. Haze, who had been coming in at that particular moment, took one look at the mess, then at me. I could feel the eyes of the rooms occupants on me, and flexed my hands slowly, forcing my temper down. As much as the demon in me sang for their blood, I was more intent on leaving as quickly as possible before the temptation to give in became to much. I turned, and headed for the door. Haze was standing in my way. I peered at him from beneath my bangs. "Move..." He stared at me. "Alina..." "MOVE HAZE!" He remained where he was for a second, then slowly stepped aside. I needed to get away. I didn't know where to..but away from here before I hurt anyone. Haze stared after me with a rather grim expression.
Hours later found me revving the engine of a luscious pink harley, specially made for me by my mothers ex boyfriend. I enjoyed the feeling of the wind as it whipped through my hair, bringing with it the scents of what lay ahead of me. I had decided a trip to my ma's was just what I needed. And it was far enough from the city that my temper could unwind and cool down. I rarely spoke to my father, but my mom was a different story. I loved the woman, despite the fact that due to his and her...odd romance, both myself and any future children were doomed to a life of hell. She was a vamp, and my father was the demon, though where he was, I had no clue. Occasionally I would get a Christmas card and a small keep sake, usually from whatever city he was inhabiting at the moment. But other then that, we really had no contact. Which suited me, honestly. I pulled in to the small driveway of my mothers rather sunny two story house. For a vampire, she was rather odd. She enjoyed bright things, gardening, and cooking, all your typical house wife things. Me and her current boyfriend, a rather charming werewolf named Dallas, often found this to be a bit out of the ordinary, considering all the vamps I had met, including the ones I worked with, liked their areas to be as dark and dank as possible. But we agreed that if this kept her happy..we weren't going to complain. Dallas was out in the front yard, napping. It was still considerably early, and for some odd reason the sun seemed to shine directly on my mothers bright pink house, making it the warmest place on her entire block. "Hullo Dallas", I called, once I had shut the engine off and swung off my bike. The wolf opened one dazzling green eye to peer at me and smiled.
"Morning Alina..what brings you here?" I closed the little gate behind me and sauntered over. He shifted on the hammock, making room for me to sit. "Nothing in particular this time..just...needed to get away." His other eyes opened and he peered curiously at me. "My god Alina, you look like..well...shit". I smiled faintly and sighed. "I know...a lot has been going on since my last visit". He sat up slightly, still looking at me oddly. "Oh? How so?" I leaned back, situating myself so I couldn't cause either of us to fall out. "Just...stuff I don't need right now...I mean.." I broke off as a overly feminine voice suddenly called out form the porch. "Alina! Oh, Alina darling, you didn't tell me you were coming!" I smiled faintly at my mother, who was now coming towards us with a large basket dangling from her arm. "I didn't really know I was coming till a bit ago ma", I told her, accepting the hug she gave me. "Well, if I had known I would have made more lunch". She beamed at me and set her basket down. My mother was the complete and total opposite of me in looks. I suppose I took more after my father. Where she was tall, pale, and blonde, I was short, darker skinned, and with shockingly white hair. My brother looked more like her, but then again, he had a different father then I did, and I was the only one with demon genes in my blood. "Oh darling, your getting skinny". I frowned, looking down at myself. I was in no way skinny, I mean, I wasn't fat, but I definably filled out. My mother looked me over for a moment then smiled again. "So dear, whens your next big concert? We always look forward to watching you on the TV". I smiled then, glad to have something to talk about, and set about telling my mother and Dallas about my upcoming concert and the possibility of a tour in the next year or so. I decided not to tell them about the demons chasing me, nor becoming Mr. Barak Kashman's bitch for a few weeks. They didn't need to know that...not yet anyway.
Barak scanned his eyes across his computer screen, elegant fingers stroking the keyboard delicately. No matter what he typed in, a large ERROR always appeared on the screen. He frowned, leaning back in his chair in frustration. "Miss Alina...you are one elusive creature." He glanced at a newspaper clipping sitting on his desk. The front page contained an article from the accident that had happened a few days ago with his bar. The media was being told it had been a burglary, and his bar occupants had been warned to go along with the story if approached and asked. On another page was a small article about the up coming Alina concert in Madison Square. He had been told that this particular singer was an interesting sight to see. His smiled was small and tight. "Is this why you need such random days off", he asked the silent room quietly, staring down at the picture of a white haired female singing into a microphone. " Has not a soul pin pointed that despite all your efforts to hide your identity you share a name sake with a world famous singer? Surely your Haze couldn't have thought me to be that dumb...idiot." he traced a finger over the singers face, lips pressed together firmly in thought. "I will break you Alina...and find out everything there is to know about you".
