3/Short
I saw the clouds as I was climbing up my porch steps.
They had emerged just across the horizon.
The grayness of them contrasted greatly with the bright blue of the sky.
I moved away from my porch, turned and watched them.
To watch something like that… well it was damn near a religious experience.
It wasn’t only the clouds - dark and calm in their fury – it was the wind stirring the dirt beneath my feet, chasing away the heavy, searing hell.
Right over that horizon… life was coming.
