I Need a Cigarette, Damn It

Three: I Need a Cigarette, Damn It

(Characters belong to me and Azathoia. Also, please read his story "Only the Heart Knows Why, Quax's Days"… Have a nice day.)

Soft lips press against mine. I can hear whispers, and when I open my eyes, finally, I see Kaddar smiling down at me. “Time to wake up, cutey.”

“Mmm,” is my only response to that. It’s Saturday, can’t we sleep in longer?

“C’mon, I know you’re hungry. Let’s go out for some breakfast.” He lays on top of me, shirtless, hell he’s even pantless!

“Kaddar, it’s too early for your seductions,” I mutter, pushing him off. He laughs a little and stands up, going over to his dresser. I continue to just lay on his bed, still tired. I try to think back to what I dreamed about. What was up with all the cotton candy everywhere? I don’t even like that stuff, so why was there so much of it? It wasn’t about the circus, no… I have no idea.

Kaddar pulls a shirt over his head, and takes out a pair of jeans, pulling them on also. I watch him. He looks amazing. He tosses my clothes over at me. “Get dressed, Kanau.”

Sighing, I reluctantly crawl out of bed. Farewell any chance of sleep I had. I get dressed and walk out of the bedroom with him, making a detour to the bathroom as he grabs his car keys. He’ll just have to wait now.

The rest of the weekend goes by too quickly to really enjoy thoroughly. Back to class again I go. I glance over to the side, when I hear something, Kaddar stopping to look too (he actually came to school today). Looks like the jocks are picking on someone, and I realize who it is. I don’t think I want to help him, but Kaddar goes over to them. “Hey, Rufus,” he says to the top jock, getting his attention.

“What the hell do you want?” He makes me sick.

“Why don’t you leave the poor kid alone?” he gestures to Mr. Pink-Hair.

“Why don’t you mind your own fucking business, Kaddar? Go back to your little boy toy over there.” And then I’ve heard enough. I walk over and punch Rufus in the jaw, shaking my hand afterward. Man that hurt! It would have been nice had it ended there, but nooo, he puts his hands around my throat and lifts me off the ground, but not for long. Kaddar punches him in the back of the head, pretty damn hard too ‘cause he knocks him out cold and I’m back on my feet.

“Do the rest of you wanna fight too?” Kaddar growls at them, and they all back away. Kaddar is vicious when you get on his bad side. He comes back over to me and checks my hand. “Heh, not too bad, love.” He looks back over at the pink-haired guy again. “You alright there?”

“Uh… Y-yeah, thanks.”

“Good. Well, I got to get to class.” Kaddar leans over and kisses my cheek. “See you at lunch, Kanau.” He winks at me and walks off down the hall.

I turn to Pink-Hair. “Well… let’s get to class.”

“Right…”

We walk together in silence, and I’m just fine with that. Once we get to class, we go to where we sat last time. The teacher brings over a textbook for him, and the kid thanks him for it. I hold my pencil up as I think about things. Only when the eraser taps my chin do I realize how much I really need a cigarette. Well, too late now. I’ll just skip the next class and hide out in the restroom and smoke my brains out, or something. Hell, maybe I’ll just leave until lunch like Kaddar likes to do. Yeah, that sounds good. Pink-Hair tries saying something to me, but I ignore it. I’m not interested in it right now.

When class finally ends, I gather my things up and quickly retreat out of the room. I look both ways before crossing the hall, heading out the doors. I don’t like to leave in the middle of the day, but damn I need a cigarette!! I walk around the side of the school building and find a secluded spot. Sitting down, I take my smokes out of my pocket and light one up. I finally start to calm down after taking a long drag from it. I wish that Kaddar was out here with me. Boy toy? Ha, as if… The breeze starts to kick in, and I kind of wish I had a jacket… Oh well…

I don’t know how long I actually stay out here, but when I look at my watch, I realize that I actually missed lunch. “Damn it!” I sigh, not really knowing what to do now. Maybe I should just stay out here. Kaddar will be looking for me most likely anyway. I light up my, what, third, fourth? cigarette and start filling my lungs with the stuff.

“Those are bad for your health.”

I lower the drug a little. Bad, yeah, but it helps one feel better, right? I stand up, deciding to just go home. I’ll call Kaddar about it later. As I start walking back around the school, I happen to glance in one of the windows, and I see him again. He looks back at me, and I turn away, heading out towards the street. I just hope he isn’t working tonight. I need more drugs. Damn it. If he is working… I’ll go to a different check-out counter. I really don’t need to get a stalker now.
