Crooked...
Crooked House with a Crooked Fence sits on a Crooked Lane
Five sharp midnights painted nails itched with irritation in need to tear into its owner’s face and relieve the stress that was building within. Gabrielle just watched Kade slack jawed that the girl though had the beginning pendant to start the Holy Hourglass training knew nothing about the Hourglass other then you can use the powers to protect and defend not even knowing HOW to use them. Kade herself was trying out the chant to move a fat reference book Gabrielle sat on the work table with the instructions to float it or move it whatever came easier to her. Holding back a squeak as to not alarm the girl a few feet away Gabrielle eyed a burner’s mirror taking notice her nail cut the corner of her eye with it’s twitching, pouting slightly she turned back to Kade and had jumped to her feet, mouth moving before it even knew what it was the brain was commanding for it to say, “STOP!” It had come out more of a shriek but it did the job as everything that had started spell moving toward the ceiling by Kade was over ridden by Gabrielle’s own spell, now Kade bright green eyes stared stupidly as the floating objects came to a stop but still maneuvered in place. “Did…I…just do all this? I couldn’t have right?” Kade’s sun tanned skin paled several shades as she begun moving away from the giant work room table that was spinning above them. “Placement.” Gabrielle let out her breath running a hand through the untidy mess called hair as the furniture slowly replaced itself back in their respectful places.
Falling on her rump Kadrelyn looked up in awe at Gabrielle and how at ease she was with her powers, an overwhelming feeling of jealously which diminished into full awe struck, Gabrielle chewed on the bottom of her lip absent mindedly turning it into a more plump ruby red from the action while surveying for any damage. “I did it wrong huh…How’d you do that so…easily? No chanting or anything I mean…” Gabrielle looked down at the smaller girl who let the whisper of a question swarm the room like a thick fog, eyebrow arching in question at the seriousness Kade was asking in, the dawning happened slowly but hit like a team of draft horses, this girl never saw a fight before, she was completely virginal to the Hourglass! “You’re not joking are you…” She asked out of fear and utter denial someone could be that sheltered from life, “Being able to just say Placement and it know what to do, well it takes a lot training if you’re not a natural Holy Priestess of the Hourglass, but it works just like a Move spell would. With Move, you control each item mentally while using the spell or have it in your mind where you want it to go. Since all you did was lift the pieces up and some how spin them all I asked of the Placement spell was to put them back in their rightful place nothing more. Understand?” Gabrielle brushed off the black free-flowing shaped skirt that went into a full circle when she spun which somehow got dust on it even after she cleaned yesterday, the plum colored scoop-neck short sleeved tunic did nothing for her figure but did allow the eye to catch a glimpse of her gifted chest size to a careful looker.
None of which helped with understanding the life of the child a few feet away from her, what kind of tainted bastards would keep a child away from her own understanding of the powers she’d receive as an adult yet sent her to one of the power wielding priestesses to train. Gabrielle’s pumpkin eyes flickered to the rose petal sized hourglass that sat close to Kade’s collarbone, still no grains but the golden antler craving should mean something that was just out of reach of her memory. “Alright Kade, hold these and follow me.” Gabrielle let Kade get up and brush off her form fitting bell bottom sweatpants and matching over sized low v-neck hooded sweat shirt with the sleeves rolled to her elbows all of which was a deep blue except the tank top she wore under the shirt which was bright lavender, before dropping three books into her skinny tooth pick arms. Turning back to the table Gabrielle picked up four more books and left the room, Kade almost stumbled under her load to follow after not having the muscle to hold the thick books for much longer. Moving through the hall was easy, going down the steps was slightly tricky but trying to get past little brother Eirian…brick wall alert.
“Move it Eirian.” Anyone with a brain could have picked up the flicker of a violent temper being pricked as Eirian stood in the doorway of the kitchen with his green shirt thrown over his shoulder casually, his chest covered in a slight sheen of sweat of a days work his rust colored eyes looked Kadrelyn up and down in a lewd way. Gabrielle side stepped blocking his way as a wicked grin plastered her sun kissed skin from tending her herbs and spices so often, “Kade this is how a spell used in everyday life can be used to defend yourself, against a bothersome male or demon to other more difficult situations.” Eirian’s smile faded as Gabrielle purred with evil intent for her lusty headed brother, “Move.” Eirian had no chance of fighting as he was sent straight out the door and at least a few dozen yards away just clearing the front first fence of the large yard without much harm. Kade gasped her hands flying to her mouth and releasing the books to the ground, Gabrielle frowned staring at where the old books had fallen then glared at the girl. “You’d be wise to take care of the books that will teach you your rightful powers little girl.” The last words came out strained as Gabrielle fought against her inner self to not throw a spell at the idiot girl just to show what else she could do when provoked, what stopped her was the pale face she had when she dropped to her knees to gather the books into her now shaking arms once more. Where did this girl come from?
Striding out the door she was quick to hear the flurry of Kade gathering the books and hurry after her never taking her eyes off the man who was getting slowly back on his feet rubbing his shaggy sun highlighted blonde head grumbling seething words of hatred. “Lady Gabrielle?” Kade gulped seeing Eirian slowly coming toward them with rage flashing rust colored eyes. Gabrielle spun on her flip flops a finger pointing at Eirian freezing him in place, “Go inside Eirian, you will go inside before you get hurt. You don’t want to fight with me. You never want to fight me.” The haughty commanding tone she used made Kade want to follow the order but stayed rooted to her spot as Eirian’s head dropped and he slowly almost unwilling trudged into the house shutting the door behind him. “Before you ask the pull you felt was a compulsion type spell worked into just speaking. He would of gotten hurt just because I damaged his pride, he would of gotten hurt because he wanted his cock admired and going up against me to prove himself would give him that, if he won that is.” With that said Gabrielle begun walking again and Kade had the feeling not many walked away from her teacher in a fight and lived, how strong could one be?
They walked away from the house and into a large field which held a wide circle of many large heavy wooded work tables, “Move.” The books flew each one having its own table; this time around Kade could almost taste the spell in the air as Gabrielle used it which was becoming more addictive each time. “What you think you taste is your own powers reaching out and licking against my powers for recognition. When you get a harness on your powers you’ll be able to feel the simplest of spells and auras be licked upon by your powers. We are common as we are both Holy so our powers won’t clash as they would if I were a demon or Dark. It’s how we protect our villages. Over time you’ll be able to dull it down so only threatening or strange auras alert you, ha if I had to feel everyone in this village at all time.” Gabrielle shook her head pulling back a sheet the covered one of the work tables revealing an assortment of weapons to the very small to a rather large bow and spear combo. “Simply put.” Kade tapped her chin over looking a few of the knives whose edges looked extremely nasty picking one up that was tipped to rip someone back open when pulled out Kade smiled darkly allowing the light of the day to glint it’s blade. “Not so shy with weaponry I see.” Kade didn’t answer as she spun on her heel slinging the hunting knife up slightly before grasping the tip and throwing it full force into the nearby tree that had several targets hanging on it, it hit the center of one and went halfway through.
Surprised, Gabrielle just stared at the knife which hit with enough force that not only was the target swinging on the branch but had pierced halfway through, Eirian couldn’t even do that with pure strength. “How…When…” Oddly enough Gabrielle wasn’t sure Kade had used pure strength to send it through the target, her powers licked at the feeling of SOMETHING had happen but not exactly powers as she knew it to be. Something wasn’t right about this girl, no one her size should have been able to do that, and her built shouldn’t have allowed her to do that with powers! “Shocking, aren’t I?” Turning Gabrielle bit the inside of her cheek as blue fire was dancing in what was once Kade’s bright green eyes now showing a deeper glowing emerald look to them. Everyone was different, Gabrielle knew and fully understood this but this girl just seemed…crooked. “Shocking isn’t the word I’d describe this particular situation right now Hourglass Child.” Yet looking into those eyes, this wasn’t just some hourglass child in front of her and the answer must of been held by that pendant she wore, she didn’t hide it so the answer was blinding her stupid in the face yet it was then that the priestess realized the Hourglass child being inside Kade was challenging HER to confront them. Fire versus Lightening…very interesting and yet…fearfully…this couldn’t end well…for any of them if she challenged back.
