December 21st
Sami was bored out of her mind to put it simply. She was supposed to be in bed for at least two weeks and she wasn’t sure she could make it that long. Hell, she couldn’t even make it two days. Mark and Kevin were in the living room of her glorious studio apartment, and she was stuck in her bedroom. They were playing a video game and she didn’t even have a TV. I swear they took off of work to play games not help me she thought to herself. She hated to think about what her clean, everything-in-its-place apartment looked like without her to pick up after them.
It had been two days since her release from the hospital, and the only contact the three of them had was when they ate their meals together in Sami’s room. Kevin sometimes came in when he thought she was asleep and watched her, almost as if he was waiting for her to do something. Not wanting him to feel awkward Sami always played along.
It felt like they were avoiding her, and she wanted to know why.
“MARK!” She yelled down the hallway hoping he would hear her.
Before she knew what happened she had not only her brother, but Kevin standing at her door thinking something was wrong.
“What is it? Are you ok? What happened?” It seemed as if Mark was having a mini panic attack. It made Sami feel a little better, knowing that they both cared so much.
“Guys, I’m fine, I just wanted to talk to Mark.”
Kevin spoke this time, “Oh, ok,” he seemed a little put down as he turned to walk back to the living room.
“Kevin, you can stay,” Sami added. Kevin’s frown turned into a goofy grin, for only a second. He hoped the two siblings hadn’t noticed anything. Sami continued, “I want you guys to stay in here with me. I’m so bored in here all by myself.”
Mark looked confused, “But what are we going to do in here?”
I don’t know, that’s for you to decide, but I want you in here. Both of you. Please...,” she said sticking her bottom lip out in a pout better than he had ever seen any small child ever do.
Fine,” Mark agreed not being able to say no to his sister’s pleading puppy dog eyes, “I have an idea.”
This ought to be good Sami thought.
“Kevin follow me.”
Not quite sure what he was getting himself into he followed Mark back into the living room. Sami tried to watch with no luck until the boys made their way back down the hallway carrying something quite large, her TV. Oh my god! What the hell are they doing? Kevin backed quite literally into the door jam.
“Fuck, dude that hurt.” Sami laughed at the look on Kevin’s face.
“Oh shut up, and keep moving, I might drop it.”
Sami stopped laughing, “You better not drop my TV.”
“You heard the girl, hurry up Kevin,” Mark said sarcastically.
“Hey I’m not the one who said I was going to drop it,” Sami laughed again at his frustration.
The boys continued carrying the TV into her room, and set it down on her bureau. Mark left again, and Kevin sat on the end of the bed looking at Sami, “How are you?”
“Honestly? I’m good, my back hurts like a bitch, but other than that I am good.”
Kevin stood up and walked closer, “Roll over, I’ll give you a massage,” he said rubbing his hands together.
“Mmm.. Sounds fun,” she giggled as she rolled over.
Kevin pushed the girl's shirt up her back. No bra. Oh boy.. Ok think.. Control yourself, you’ve been near girls without bras before.. Yeah but never a girl I cared about as much as this… good point. He ended his personal conversation. He pressed his knuckled in small circles over her shoulder blades and made his was down her back, careful to avoid the stitches that were spread across her back. Just knowing that someone had hurt her pissed him off to no end. He opened his palms and slid them back up her back and moved his thumbs in small circles across the top of her back, when a small moan escaped her lips.
“Sami, you are so beautiful, did you know that,” Kevin asked her honestly.
“Kevin, lets get serious,” she said back.
“I am. I think you are the most beautiful woman I have ever seen in my life. I can’t stop thinking about you, and I can’t keep my hands off of you,” he said as he closed his hands around her shoulders, “that’s why I never come in here, knowing I cant have you is killing me.”
“Is that why you watch me when I am sleeping? And who says you can’t have me?”
“You knew I was coming in, why didn’t you say anything?”
“I thought it was cute, and I didn’t want you to stop if you thought I knew. I liked your company, even if we didn’t talk. You didn’t answer my other question,” she said as she pulled her shirt down and rolled over. She patted a spot on the bed for him to sit so she could watch him.
He sat down on the edge of the bed, putting his elbows on his knees. He rested his face in his hands and sighed.
“I can’t be with you because I am five years older than you, and you are my best friends little sister.”
“Why does that matter? You know what they say, love knows no age.” She hoped he would see her point.
Why do you have to make this so difficult?”
“Make what so difficult?” She asked, slightly offended, but seriously not knowing what he meant.
“It’s so hard to not like you. Just being in this house with you makes it harder and harder.”
“Talk to Mark if you are really worried about it. I don’t see any reason why we cant be together. The age difference is nothing, and if my brother really cares about me, or even you, then he will support it.”
“I wouldn’t get your hopes up,” he said turning to look at her.
“ I would,” she said pulling him down on the bed. She closed her eyes ands leaned forward giving him a small peck. They both needed more. He leaned in as she kissed him again. This one deeper and full of not just want and desire, but need. She felt his tongue press against her lips, seeking entrance. She let him in.
“Kevin,” they both jumped apart hearing Mark call his name from the living room, “come help me with this stuff.”
“I’ll be right out,” he yelled back. He leaned into kiss her once more. A soft kiss to hold them over. A soft kiss that left them both wanting more. He stood and made his way to the hallway. There is no way, I’m letting this girl go he thought to himself.
