Sorry for the delay in this chapter coming up, I figured out roughly where I aim to go with the beginning of this story, but I haven't decided where I want to make it go after so for right now the grand plan for it only goes a few more chapters but if I come up with more ideas as I go and I likely will, then I will keep It going, But I really need reviews so If you like it please let me know that you like it, right now I feel like I've got a few hit on the story but with no feedback I have no idea if anyone likes it. and if I feel no one is enjoying it...what is the point of continuing the story?

Charging fast at the large bandit Everrath raised his sword bringing it down horizontally toward the larger man, The bandit lifted his hand Axe and knocked away the strike, Everrath's off hand came down up and hit the bandit square in the jaw, with a loud crack. The bandit looked angry though his movements got sloppier than they had been, The hit had knocked him for a loop, Focusing all his efforts on Everrath he never saw the small rogue until the knife was already piercing his side, Between the ribs the expertly placed blow punching into the mans lungs. Everrath used the distraction to make another attack driving his sword through the larger mans chest, Lifting his foot and kicking the bandit backwards off of his blade. The bandit stumbled and fell the life drained from his eyes. He looked and nodded to Tekiri in appreciation for covering his attack and they both continues fighting.
Her mind was running on instincts, parry high attack low, Thrust forward jump back twist inside their range ducking under the sword. She brought her knife up through the bandits jaw pushing hard driving the blade out of the top of his head. Everrath also cleaved another bandit, breaking the defending bandits sword with the first swing and decapitating him with the second. the other bandits were starting to look worried, Everrath stopped and looked again the bandits were shaking, he spoke to them again "Last chance guys surrender now and no one else has to die tonight."
Tekiri counted, Something wasn't right they had counted 9 to start 3 of them were now dead. But there were only 5 left, they were putting down their weapons and dropping to their knees when she spotted the man Everrath had thought to be their leader trying to make a run for it. Her arm was outstretched in an instant the dagger flying out after him, The man crumpled and fell as the dagger caught the back of his knee "Not so fast" she told him walking toward him "I've got questions for you" she continued walking toward him.
Everrath at this time was using some rope he had brought along in his pack to tie up the bandits who had surrendered. He looked them over carefully before speaking "If I had half a mind I'd have killed you all you realize that?" he looked very serious scanning over them again, After securing them and so that they couldn't get away he continued on to have a look at the weapons they had dropped. Nothing useful right caught his eye but he was sure he could get some money from them back in the city so he picked up the smaller of the weapons. daggers and knives. He looked over to where Tekiri was questioning the leader of the group, she was a tough woman, The bandit said something she obviously didn't like as he Everrath watched her pull her leg up and kick the man in the side and kneel down to grab his throat. she was she yelled at the bandit "You need to watch your tongue. I should cut the damn thing out" she looked angry though he hadn't heard what the bandit had said Everrath was willing to bet he deserved the threats he got.
After watching her drill their leader for information, They two discussed what they should do with their captives. Everrath listed his thoughts "well we can take them alive and turn them over to the police and let them be dealt with as the town sees fit, or we can take them to the city and as sad of an existence as it would be we could sell them to the slave traders, and out last option we could spare them the two other fates and kill them here and now"
Tekiri thought it over for a minute before responding and when she finally did speak it was clear and and to the point "Slavery, I want to see them suffer after some of what their leader had to say." Her eyes were cold. Just what had he said anyways? They took a minute to make sure their equipment was still well secured then proceeded to tell the former bandits their fate. The bandits eyes opened in horror at what they were told, Slavery guaranteed their lives would be short and the time they were still alive would be miserable.
The walk back to the city was a slow one, Both mercenaries watching closely over their captives, not only was this their proof of completing their mission, this would also provide them with a little bit of spare change, The mission was easier than he had expected though, the leader confirmed they were the sole group in the area under Tekiri's less than friendly interrogations.
Once back to the city they returned to Graysarr who was more than happy to pay up seeing the bandits tied up being led by a rope held by Tekiri. He thanked them for their services and quickly told them he had business that he needed to take care of still and didn't have any more time to talk, he just told them that he needed to leave immediately, then without even looking back Graysarr left. Everrath looked at the bag of coins Graysarr had handed him, smiling as he turned toward Tekiri "I somehow see us living comfortably for a little while ey comrade?"
"Yea I think we'll be doing just fine" She said with a grin curling up her face. She loved the idea of being able to sit back and relax for a while "Next in the line of business though. To sell these slaves off" She started walking toward the south side of town, She knew well where to find someone willing to take some people off of your hands.
They arrived at a small warehouse about an hour after their meeting with Graysarr Tekiri stopped and told Everrath to wait for her outside and turned and walked into to the side of the building and let herself in through a side entrance, Everrath waited as he was told, he never was fond of these kinds of places but they did prove useful from time to time, and the people he was selling he told himself deserved this fate.
Only moments after Tekiri had went in she reappeared and led the bandits inside the small warehouse. some time passed, Everrath was starting to wonder if something had happened by the time she finally came back out and tossed a bag of coins to him and smiled. As he was getting up she asked a question "so we have some money, Now what do we do?"
"Well I say first we go and get some rest. Then we get some materials to repair our gear, I need some more rope now, I need to get a stone to sharpen my sword, I'm sure your daggers could use some honing as well."
Tekiri pulled her dagger and her knife out and looked at the blades, they were covered in dings and nicks "Yea. they are pretty well beat man, I don't think I could convince you to sharpen them for me so that I can go off and roam around the city for a while?"
he thought for a second looking at her, he really didn't want to but he figured after she had been the one to capture the bandit leader he almost let get away he probably should "I guess I can" he stated flatly.
"Thank you" She said and quickly walked away and turned down a nearby alley. Everrath never had any Idea where she went when she wandered around the city he just knew that if she was out and about the city you wouldn't find her unless she wanted to be found. She knew this place better than anyone else. knew everywhere to hide, knew which doors were locked, which ones weren't she knew ways into the catacombs under the city and she knew how to get nearly anywhere with them. He had wondered many times exactly what she did when she was out and no one knew where she was.
Everrath started his dreary walk back to his apartment, he was tired he hadn't really slept much lately he decided he would catch some rest before he honed their weapons and patched up the rest of their gear that needed it. He made his way to the back of the apartment his mattress wasn't much it was more of a large pile of rags that he found comfortable to lay on. He sat for a minute thinking about the fight at the town gate the memory was still foggy, after a minute he laid down to sleep, his mind swam for a moment he could feel his senses slipping and a moment later the world was dark, He heard the voice calling him
"Everrath, Speak with me my child"
"I hear you, what do you want" Everrath replied
"I need to speak with you, the next few days will determine your eternal fate Everrath"
a feeling bordering terror crossed his senses what was the voice trying to tell him? "What do you mean?"
"The path you choose in the next upcoming days will determine the rest of your life, and the life of the people around you"
before he could ask the mysterious voice any more questions he felt his body coming back to the waking world and the darkness faded giving blurred light as he opened his eyes, though he couldn't help but think he didn't understand what the voice had been trying to tell him. He recalled what the voice had told him, it gave him a chilled feeling. trying not to give it too much thought he walked to his living room to start working on his equipment.
