The Non-Existant

Polaryss flinched under Kouri\'s angry, violet gaze. She was sitting on the spare bed in the Medi-lab. Waiting for the doctor to finish looking at the bump on her head. She had apologized again, actually meaning it this time when she noticed the smaller redhead passed out under a large machine.



Kouri snapped off her gloves, throwing them into the trashcan with the relative ease that came from practice. She wrote something on a clipboard, then turned, essentially ignoring the elf sitting on the bed.



“You\'ll have a good bruise. No concussion though. Don\'t drink any alcohol, no bright flashing colors, and don\'t have rigorous sex. You should be fine in a few days.” Polaryss nodded, turning her attention to the mechanic who lay on the bed.



“Is....is she okay?” Polaryss blinked mismatched eyes at the red curls spilling over the edge of the bed. The hard edge in the Doctor\'s eyes faded, one of her hands burying in all that hair.



“She\'ll be fine. The scan shows nothing amiss, she\'ll have one hell of a bruise on her back though.” Inner Kouri leered, stating that she\'d love to see that bruise, love to lick....I mean kiss, it better. Outer Kouri barely kept the lecherous grin off her face as she wholeheartedly agreed. The drugs would fade in half an hour, plenty of time to be hauled off to a private room and tied up. The little darling had the worst habit of getting away at the last second.



“I\'m taking Mikki for some....private care.” Polaryss couldn\'t help the shudder, at the look that had crossed the Doctor\'s face.



“W-wouldn\'t she be more comfortable here?”



“She would be, but I doubt the rest of you would care to see the more....personal aspects of our relationship.” The elf paled.

Where the hell was that stupid cat? She\'d looked in the mess hall, in the common room, hell even the bathing room was empty. Freya had looked everywhere, and Jacob was no where to be found. It was as if he\'d dissapeared of the face of the earth. The frustrated woman ran her hands through her hair, swirling the crimson streaks into the brown. Wait....Tahi and Jacob were always together, they were like Siamese twins. Freya might have been worried if the two didn\'t act exactly like siblings.



She narrowed her eyes in thought. The room he shared with Tahi, it was the only place she hadn\'t checked yet. Freya rubbed her hands together, chuckling like a madwoman. The pretty little kitty would have no idea what had hit him. And when he did he\'d be too tied up to do anything about it.

Jacob turned to stare at the door. Did she really think that he wouldn\'t be able to hear her? She knew all about his cochlear implants, and he knew Freya could be silent when she wanted to be.. He could hear her shuffling around outside, cursing at the palm lock on the door. What was wrong with her?



Why would the woman not leave him alone, she ignored each and every refusal he gave. Getting in his face, despite his anti-social behavior. Any other woman would have given up long ago, not wanting to bother with a man who obviously didn\'t care about anything other then being on his own. Then again, Freya was unlike any other woman he\'d ever met. It seemed all she ever thought about was sex, even on missions.



There was another curse outside the door, then a hollow knocking sound that let him know she\'d kicked the door in anger. Jacob smiled, stretching. He yawned once, bones cracking and reforming into smaller thinner ones. In his lighter feline form, he crawled under his sheets, curling up and falling asleep. Even if Freya did make it in here, he very much doubted she would be interested in sex with him in feline form.

Polaryss couldn\'t help staring at her savior. The woman was covered in metal, from her right eye straight down to her toes. How was she supposed to walk up to this woman, she seemed particularly unapproachable. Her mind whirled, thinking out possibilities of how she would have approached someone like this at home.



She didn\'t imagine that bringing the woman half of a dead animal would really persuade her to forgive the near battery of her friend. Taking a deep breath, the grey skinned elf forced herself to step through the door. Clearing her throat and drawing attention to herself, something she had never previously done.



“May I help you?” The womans voice was more human then she had imagined, she had thought it would be a little more mechanized. Polaryss wriggled her toes before straightening her spine She was the fifth daughter of a high house, trained her entire life in the ways of diplomacy and speech. Apologizing was second nature to her, after all these years.



“I\'ve come to apologize for the way I acted. I should have taken a better look at my surroundings before reacting in such a violent way. I may have permanently damaged your brethren and can do no more then apologize for my actions.” The elf bowed her head, awaiting whatever punishment came for her rash actions.



“You were doing what came naturally to you. There is nothing shameful about reacting such a way in what you assumed was a life or death situation. Mikki will be fine, the doctor is looking after her.” Tahi paused at the embarrassed blush that crossed the elf\'s face, she cocked her head. This shouldn\'t have been a natural reaction, she could only come to the conclusion that the Doctor was being a shameless pervert again.



“Is.....are those two really involved in that sort of a relationship?”



“The knowledge that such relationships are common among the sidhe courts is not unknown to me. I do not understand such reservations from one such as you.” Tahi cocked her head, frowning as she tried to understand why such a relationship would cause the elf to act so....human.



“They are common, the relationships between two Sidhe of the same sex. I was not expecting such relationships from humans.”



“They are not as well received here as they would be in your homeland. But they happen none-the-less.” The conversation seemed closed. At least that portion of it.

Mikki blinked awake, the ceiling looked familiar. Not in the this-is-my-ceiling-that-I-see every-morning kind of familiar. More the, I-know-this-ceiling-and-it-means-I\'m-in-deep-shit familiar. She knew from experience that her wrists would already be tied together above her head, though her instincts told her to test, just to be sure.



“....Kouri?” Her voice was tentative.



“Yes?” That liquid sin voice that always made her mouth go dry.



“Why am I in your room?”



“You needed some private care. I thought you might have a concussion.” Soft fingers brushed her arm, startling her. “You\'ve been neglecting yourself.”



“We don\'t all have the time to rub cream all over ourselves everyday.” Mikki winced, realizing what she had said.



“Haven\'t I offered time and time again, to rub cream all over your body?” Kouri\'s eyes were darkly amused.



“Shut up.” Mikki pouted, tugging on her restraints in vain. She sighed, wiggling until she\'d reached a comfortable position that wasn\'t pulling on her shoulders or scrunching up her back. “Let\'s just get this over with.” Kouri raised an eyebrow.



“Get what over with?”



“You only tie me up for one reason. Just do the whole sex thing so I can go. I\'ve got a new shipment of parts coming in.” Kouri\'s eyes narrowed, violet glinting in the overhead lights. So the adorable little mechanic would rather work on her toys then get worked on with toys. That attitude wouldn\'t last long, not this time.
