Two Brothers One Feeling

Chapter 3



“STOP” Jamie quickly woke up he had sweat all down his face. “It was just a dream” Jamie rubbed his head when he heard a knock on the door. “Jamie are you alright” he heard Nathan from outside the room. “I’m fine” Jamie replied he waited until he could Nathan walking away. Jamie flopped back down on his bed and looked up at the ceiling “why did I dream of that man I should be disgusted in myself” he rolled to his side and touched his lips with his two fingers. ‘It’s so strange for some reason it felt so real’ Jamie’s thoughts were going all over the place.



It was about 8pm and Jamie decided to have a shower since he hadn’t even left his room the moment they got back. He grabbed his bath towel and headed to the bathroom once inside he undressed and jumped into the shower. The nice warm water felt good rushing down his soft white skin. Jamie rubbed his hands over his hairless chest before banging his right hand against the wall. ‘How could I have dreamt of Nathan kissing me and saying he loves me its just wrong’ Jamie could not stop thinking about it. He had to do something to get his mind of the situation.



Once Jamie got out of the shower he changed into some track pants and a white singlet. Nathan wasn’t any were, not in the kitchen or the lounge until Jamie saw a note on the coffee table.

Dear Jamie,

I went back to the office to finish of a few things, since you were still in your room before I left there is some leftover pasta that I had made for dinner. Clean up after you have finished I will be back late.

“So he didn’t even bother to tell me he was going to work what a dickhead” Jamie threw the note in the bin and walked to the fridge.



After having his dinner Jamie decided to watch some TV for a while. Then he suddenly heard the phone ring it was past 9:30pm ‘who could be calling now’ he wondered. Jamie walked over to the phone and picked it up to hear his father on the other line. “Hello Jamie how have you been” his father asked. “Yeah I’m fine hows your trip been so far” they talked for about ten minutes when Jamie’s father had something important to tell him. “Um Jamie Lauren and I have been asked to stay here for a few more days, so can you tell Nathan that we wont be back until next week alright”.



Jamie wasn’t all to pleased but he promised his father he would tell Nathan. After hanging up and going back to watch TV it started to rain really heavily outside. “It’s coming down really hard tonight” for some odd reason Jamie was a little worried. He didn’t know why though that really confused him being worried about something and not even know what you’re worrying about. The clock kept ticking and Jamie had fallen asleep on the couch with the television still on. The front door opened and Nathan walked in soaking wet from head to toe.



Unfortunately he hadn’t brought an umbrella with him since Nathan hadn’t known it was going to rain. Nathan noticed the TV was still on and that Jamie had fallen asleep on the couch. “Great I guess I have to carry him to his room” and with that Nathan picked Jamie up and walked to his little brothers bedroom. Luckily for him Jamie wasn’t all that heavy and that he wasn’t waking up either. Nathan knew that Jamie would probably kiss his ass for carrying him. Nathan laid Jamie down on the bed and covered him with the blanket, for some odd reason Jamie looked so innocent when he was asleep. Nathan was about to stroke his hand down Jamie’s face when he quickly brought his hand back. ‘What am I doing, I must be over tiered’ Nathan walked out of the room before heading towards his.



Two days had already passed Jamie and Nathan hadn’t said a single word to one another. Jamie ended up leaving a text message on Nathan’s mobile saying that dad and Lauren won’t be back until next week. Nathan was always at the office and Jamie went to school so they never saw each other since Nathan left early in the morning and came back when Jamie had already gone to bed. Jamie wasn’t sure if Nathan was avoiding him or it was just mere coincidence that they didn’t see one another. However some were in Jamie’s mind he was glad the Nathan wasn’t around. It gave him time to clear his head out, however Jamie had no idea how he got back to his bed when he remembered falling asleep on the couch.



Their was only two options one he slept walk back to his back or two Nathan must have carried him. Jamie really wanted to go with option one but he had never slept walk once in his entire life. Jamie wanted to ask Nathan but he decided to let it blow over finding out the Nathan was possibly carrying him kind of sent a chill up his spine. Being hugged by Nathan was bad enough than being carried. Things between them were not good the only solution was for Jamie to leave Nathan’s apartment. Jamie knew he would probably get into a lot of trouble for doing so but he could take another day their.



Once Jamie got back from school he packed his duffle bag with all his things got his school bag and left. Jamie didn’t bother to leave a note since Nathan would probably guess that Jamie had left. Their was two places Jamie could go to and that was back to his house or stay with a friend. Jamie knew full well that Nathan would go to the house so Jamie decided to ring a friend. He rand his best friend Tom and asked if he could stay which was just fine since Tom only lived with his mom but she was away on a business trip.



“Hey dude glad you could make it come on in” Tom grabbed his friend’s bags and shut the door. “Now you can sleep in my little brothers room since he’s staying at my dads place” Tom said. “Hey thanks for having me over man I have had one hectic week so far” Jamie sat on the lounge. Tom grabbed him and Jamie a can of soda each and then sat down beside his friend. “Say weren’t you staying at your brother’s house why your folks were away”. “Yeah but things between Nathan and me are really bad and I really wanted to get away, I know that Nathan would go back to my house to see if I was their but to tell the truth I don’t really want to see him” Jamie explained.



“You know I don’t understand you I mean what’s the deal between you two, you hardly talk about your brother and when you do talk about him its always bad things” Tom always wondered what was the problem. “It’s kind of complicated”, Tom placed his soda on the table and turned to look at Jamie. “Come on Jamie tell me what is so complicated why don’t you and Nathan get along and even with your own mum if its something you can tell me I promise I wont tell anyone we are best friends aren’t we”. Jamie knew he could trust Tom but he wasn’t sure what Tom would think if he told him the truth about Nathan and Lauren.



So Jamie made up his mind he decided to tell Tom everything. “Fine but if I tell you, you must swear you wont tell a soul” Jamie looked at Tom with one of his serious stares. “I swear” Tom sat their waiting for his friend to speak. “Well Nathan the brother which you call so easily is not my real brother he is my step-brother and my mother is actually my step-mother, my dad remarried when I was just a kid a few years after when my real mum had left him and I, so their you have it that’s why I don’t get along with either of them especially Nathan” Jamie had just told the biggest secret of his life to Tom.



Tom wasn’t sure what to say after hearing such a major confession from Jamie. “Huh ok well that’s understandable I guess but it still doesn’t explain why you hate Nathan surely it’s not just because your step-brothers their must be something else behind it all” Tom wasn’t all that smart at school but when it came to friends he was as sharp as a whistle. Was their another reason why Jamie didn’t like Nathan, he was about to say something when his mobile started ringing. It was Nathan after seeing his name on his mobile screen “great it’s him”. “Well aren’t you going to answer it” the phone kept ringing and ringing it soon stopped but then it started to ring again.



Tom swiped Jamie’s phone and clicked the button to answer “yello”….“oh hi Nathan you’re looking for Jamie”….“yeah he’s here”. Jamie was trying to get his phone back but Tom kept dodging him why still talking to Nathan. Jamie decided to give up and sat back down with an angry face. “Do you want to speak to him ok here he is” Tom handed the mobile to him. “It’s your brother” Tom said with a cheeky tone to his voice, Tom thought it would be good to give Jamie a little alone time so he went to his bedroom.



Nathan was in his car outside Jamie’s house, Jamie was right it was the first place Nathan went to when he found all of Jamie’s things were gone knowing he had run away. “Look Nathan I know things between haven’t been going so well but that doesn’t mean you have to run away, you’re my responsibility Jamie and as a big brother its my duty to make sure your safe, running of like that scared me to death” Nathan’s words surprised Jamie. Jamie didn’t know that him leaving put such an effect on Nathan. For some reason deep inside Jamie felt really bad.



Jamie decided to go back to Nathan’s apartment he had given the address so Nathan could pick him up. A little while later the door bell rang and Jamie walked to the door he opened it and saw Nathan standing their. It seemed like time had stopped still for just a mere moment when Nathan grabbed Jamie and pulled him into an embrace. “I’m so glad you’re safe” Nathan held onto Jamie with all his might. “I I’m sorry” for the first time in a long time Jamie had apologised, he had never said sorry to Nathan not once after so many things he has said or done to him.



A small grin came on Nathan’s face he let go of Jamie and looked at him “you know I’m glad to hear that”. Jamie couldn’t understand this feeling he could feel inside of himself. They both said goodbye to Tom and then drove back to the apartment, the drive was in silent but the silence was sort of getting to Jamie. “Um you wont tell dad about this will you I mean me running away” Jamie asked why fiddling with his fingers. Nathan looked over at him for a second before facing the front again. “It will be a secret between you and me” Nathan replied.



“I’m really sorry for making you worry” Jamie still felt awful about running away it was a stupid idea. Jamie then noticed Nathan was pulling the car up on the side of the road and turned it of. Before Jamie could ask why they had stopped Nathan had swung his arms around Jamie. One arm around Jamie’s back and the other one around his neck why stroking the back of Jamie’s head. “Please don’t ever do something like that again Jamie I don’t know what I would have done if something happened to you I could never forgive myself” Nathan didn’t let go.



Without thinking Jamie had put one of his arms around Nathan and leaned his head against Nathan’s shoulder so Nathan couldn’t see his face but could only hear what he was saying. “You know I am not usually like this but when you rang and told me how worried you were I felt really guilty inside not knowing how stupid it was of me running away” suddenly a single tear ran down Jamie’s face. He couldn’t understand know why he was crying. Nathan heard a small sniffle and could tell his little brother was crying, Nathan lifted Jamie’s face up to look at him.



He wiped the tears away with his thumb “I never knew you were such a cry baby” Nathan slightly laughed. “I am not a cry bab” Jamie could finish that last word when Nathan had bent down and kissed Jamie right on the lips. It was just like Jamie’s dream but this was real. He could really feel Nathan’s warm lips against his, Jamie didn’t even pull away which surprised Nathan instead Jamie put his arms around Nathan’s neck. Both boys passionately kissed one another not realising how wrong it was.



Back at the apartment they were both lying on Nathan’s bed with him on top of Jamie. Nathan gently stroked his hand down one side of Jamie’s face “are you sure” Nathan asked. They were both going to do the one thing that brothers should never ever do it was forbidden. With a small yes coming from Jamie’s mouth Nathan bent down and started to kiss Jamie’s neck. Jamie lifted his head up so Nathan could have better access why Nathan was kissing Jamie he was unbuttoning Jamie’s shirt.



That night both Nathan and Jamie shared a passionate moment not having the slightest clue that it would change both their lives forever.
