So uh, who’s in love with Bam? *raises hand* I AM :D
Ah shit, I keep getting interrupted while writing this chapter. NO KARL I WILL NOT CELEBRATE YOUR BIRTHDAY RIGHT NOW-- … oooh, we’re getting donuts? *frolicks!*

Sae had fallen asleep quickly after the whole ordeal, his asthma attack taking a lot out of him. He was slumped in his seat, his head turned to face the window as he slept rather peacefully. Bam felt a little guilty; this kid wasn’t ready to be a part of what he was destined to take over, but they needed him now. The Kim regime was starting to get suspicious of the Joo clan’s inactivity, and they were taking a (forceful) stand against it. They knew that something big was about to happen.
The teen stirred a bit and shifted his body, turning his head to face the other way, towards Bam. The older man smiled lightly and reached behind his seat to grab a fluffy purple blanket, draping it carefully over the sleeping boy. It was still raining out and they were both still a little damp from being caught outside, but thankfully the van had a heater in it.
They had passed through Taejon about an hour ago and were steadily on their way to Chonju. Bam decided that they wouldn’t stop in such a public place next time; they would purposely make their way to the outskirts of the city and go to a lesser-known place to refresh themselves. And, they wouldn’t stop at night and find a place to sleep. They’ll pull over on the side of the road and sleep in the back of the van.
A soft groan made Bam look over to Sae, who was slowly blinking his eyes open. He was confused for a moment, as to why he was in the van, and then he looked over at Bam, who smiled lightly.
“Hey…” Sae said, his voice a little hoarse from his sleep. Had he been snoring? He rubbed his eyes and sat up, snuggling closer into the blanket that was wrapped around him.
“Hey.”
Licking his lips and yawning some, Sae slouched against the seat and watched the scenery roll by. He was still a bit in shock from the earlier events; he’d never seen a dead person, let alone someone that was killed so brutally… he could still remember the look on her face, her mouth slightly agape and her glossy eyes wide open in terror. He blinked, shoving the image aside, and turned towards Bam.
“Are we almost there?” He asked lazily, propping his feet up on the dashboard.
“Almost. It’ll be about two hours, or so.” Bam said, fiddling with the radio station. They had started to report on the murder scene in Ch’onan, and the brave hero – he found some easy listening and settled back as he drove.
“I can drive too, you know,” Sae said, glancing over at his cousin. “You don’t have to drive the whole time.”
Bam smiled lightly, “Thanks, kid. But I can handle it. I’m used to making a long haul.”
Sae went silent after giving Bam a good look, and then turned his gaze out of the window. “This is all… I don’t know. At first I thought I could handle it, but now… after what happened back there. I’m going to be a really important person, aren’t I?”
There was a pregnant silence between the two men, before Bam spoke up.
“The most important. To them, and to us.” Bam said softly.
The teen chewed on his bottom lip in thought, then sat up a bit straighter.
“I can do it. If I can save lives and prevent stuff like that happening… then I can do it.”
Bam glanced over at Sae for a moment, judging, and then smiled. “I know you can do it. I know you can.”
x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x
When they stopped in Chonju, Bam parked the van in a parking lot and shut off the vehicle. Sae raised a brow and stared at the drug store, then figured that they were restocking on supplies. They were getting low on water and potato chips. They mozied inside and were greeted by the store owner, and they smiled politely and moved through the aisles. Bam lingered and looked around, but Sae went straight for the water, grabbing a 24-case and hauling it up to the counter. After a few moments Bam came up to the counter as well, setting down various objects.
Sae grabbed a box of burgundy hair dye and glanced over at his cousin, who was busy chatting with the cashier. There was another box of dye, but it wasn’t burgundy. He couldn’t quite see what it was because it was cluttered, and before he could get a good look it was all bagged up. When they got back out to the van, Sae put the water bottles and ice in the cooler, then glanced over at Bam.
“What’s the dye for?”
Bam glanced up and smiled lightly, winking. “Don’t you feel like being spontaneous?”
Sae deadpanned. “Not really.”
The older man rolled his eyes and moved into the driver’s seat, Sae clambering over the back of the seats to get into his own spot. He situated himself and undid the first few buttons on his shirt, then sat back and looked over at Bam again.
“Seriously.”
His cousin smiled, albeit bitterly. “We gotta disguise ourselves. I bought some hair dye and make-up. As of now, me and you are J-rockers.”
Cerulean eyes blinked a few times, furiously fast, and then a shriek filled the cabin of the vehicle.
“WHAT!?”
Bam donned a sheepish look, “C’mon, it’s not that bad of a cover. I think it’s rather creative.~”
“Creative?” Sae echoed, his voice hoarse from the God-awful yelp he’d bellowed. “That’s… you’re… that’s ridiculous, Bam!”
The Japanese man raised a brow and glanced towards his prince. “Is it? Have you ever needed to disguise yourself in order to stay alive?”
“--…” Sae fell silent, and glanced away, with a muttered “no” in response.
The smile returned the Bam’s face; “Of course not! I have. I always use the J-rock excuse. We’re an underground band traveling around trying to get our sounds out.”
“But… I don’t know how to play guitar, Bam.” Sae blinked, and Bam laughed.
“Ah, but I do. You’re the singer, my Prince.”
Kicks paled slightly. Singer? Of a… J-rock band? Sure he’d wanted to be famous at one point, but J-rock was a little too extreme for him. Like… hip-hop was more his style, maybe even R&B.
“Well…” Sae reached around the seat and picked up a box of hair dye – ah, the other color was turquoise. Turquoise. “We’re going to look ridiculous, but I guess if it’ll keep people from trying to kill us I’m game…”
“That’s what I like to hear!” Bam said jovially, clapping a hand on Sae’s thigh, making the teen wince a bit and rub the abused area.
After a few hours they hit Namwon, grabbing a bite to eat at a fast food restaurant and then carrying on their merry way. It was starting to get dark, but neither of them were tired so they decided to drive on through the night. Their goal was Yosu, where the other cousins had a boat ready for them to sail over the seas and take them to the island. At the rate they were going they could be there before the next sunset, and Sae could feel himself getting antsy.
He was getting closer and closer to leaving South Korea. He’d never been out of the country, ever!, and here he was driving with a man he’s known for less than four days cross-country to escape some crazy power-hungry family that wanted him and his cousins dead. He wasn’t quite sure how this odd predicament found him, and he wasn’t really ready to find out – but Bam was right. It was a change in Sae’s mundane life of school, study, eat, study, rinse, repeat. And although on the surface the teen seemed to be iffy about the situation, on the inside his adrenaline was pumping. He was itching to get into the action, but at the same time he felt a little bit of discrepancy. He had just witnessed a woman being killed, in a none-too-nice way at that.
He wasn’t sure if he could handle the bloodshed. Bam seemed unaffected by it, but that’s most likely because he’s known of this for much longer than Sae. The man probably knew hand-to-hand combat, and he obviously knew how to use a gun. Sae had learned to fire one when his high school visited the local police station and learned gun safety, but that was about it. But he was sure that if the situation arose, he could handle it.
Maybe.
“Hey,” Bam’s voice pulled Sae from his thoughts, and the younger looked over at his cousin who was looking in his side mirror. “You notice that the car behind us has been tailing us for the past three hundred miles?”
Sae shrugged, “Maybe they’re going the same direction as us.”
Bam licked his lips and glanced over at Sae. “I don’t think anyone with that nice of a car would just take it for a three hundred mile drive at two in the morning, Kicks.”
The teen looked in his own mirror, and saw headlights, then blackness. The car looked pretty fancy though; the lights reflected off of the chrome grill and practically made it shine. Now that Bam mentioned it… why would another car be out strolling long-distance in the middle of the night? Let alone such a nice car. Only rich people would –
…
Oh.
Just as the revelation hit Sae, the sound of metal on metal reached his ears, followed by a jerk that shocked the teen as they lurched forward. Bam let out a few pretty words and then put the pedal to the metal as he started giving instructions to Sae.
“Get in the back of the van, there’s a black tassel on the floor that opens up a hidden compartment.” Sae clambered over the seat, his blood starting to rush. He found the tassel and tugged on it, revealing a large storage space that was filled with all sorts of things – rifles, pistols, ammunition, bombs . “Pull out what you can, then come take the wheel.”
Bam was so cool and collected through all of this, while Sae was shaking as he pulled out the heavy weapons. He’d never held a gun so big in his life (he didn’t even know the name of it), and he brought what he could out of the space in a quick amount of time, shutting the compartment and climbing over the seat again to take the wheel as Bam moved into the passenger seat. The older man reached behind him to grab one of the large guns, making sure it was loaded before cocking it. Sae’s knuckles were white from his grip on the wheel, and the warmth and pressure that came from Bam’s comforting hand on his shoulder did little to quell his nerves.
“Keep following the road.” Bam instructed as he rolled down the passenger side window and hung his torso out of it.
“What the Hell are you doing?!” Sae couldn’t find the voice to yell, so it came out as a harsh whisper. Bam didn’t answer – only the sound of multiple rounds firing from the gun was Sae’s response.
Ah. He was shooting at the car behind them.
Another ram from the expensive vehicle tailing them almost sent Sae’s forehead into the wheel of the van, and he cursed lightly as he turned on the cruise control. Bam was still firing rounds, but now Sae heard the sound of other guns going off as well. A bullet ricocheted off of his side view mirror, knocking it askew, and Sae ducked his head out of reflex, swerving slightly. His heart was hammering inside of his chest, he could swear that it was going to leap out at any moment.
The car behind them swerved into the other lane and started to pull up next to the van, and Sae started to panic.
“Shit shit shit! They’re coming up on us Bam!”
“Take this!” Bam tossed a glock into Sae’s lap and the teen stared at it for a second, before picking it up and bringing a knee up on the seat for leverage as he steered and tried to take aim at the oncoming vehicle.
A gun had never felt so comfortable in his hand. Granted, he’d only held one once, but that was a bit awkward because he didn’t know how to work it. But this… this was amazing. It was like the gun was made specifically for him – it fit the grooves of his hand perfectly. He licked his lips, and as soon as it looked like the car was close enough, he put his arm out of the window and took aim using what he could of the mirror, sending a few bullets into the grill of the car.
Either he could flatten their tires or hit their engine with enough bullets to make it blow up. Both outcomes were awesome. Maybe he could do both at once. Ah, better not get too ahead of himself… the car continued to gain on them, and soon enough Sae was staring a thug in the face as a huge semi-automatic rifle was aimed right at him.
As a last-ditch effort Sae swerved violently, offsetting his balance as well as Bam’s, making them careen off of the road and into a poppy field. The bullets that were fired from the rival family left dents along the side of the van, but none of them penetrated; when Sae righted himself on the road he turned and gave Bam a bewildered look, who just shrugged and winked.
“You think this is just some dinky old van?”
Before Sae could respond the other car was level with them, their rifles still pointed at Sae. Thoughts raced through his mind, and the only thing he could register was “get rid of that car!”. So, being simple enough with that, he used a simple maneuver. He jerked the wheel to the left and rammed into the luxury vehicle with enough force to send it off of the other side of the road and into a ditch. He heard Bam shuffling as that happened, and as soon as the other car rolled to a stop in the ditch, Sae watched in the mirror as it exploded violently.
He blinked, then turned to Bam, who was holding the pin to a grenade and had the expression of a child on Christmas morning.
“Well they obviously don’t know who they’re messing with.” He said proudly, and Sae whimpered slightly.
“I’m glad I’m on your side…”
x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x
Sae continued to drive and Bam dozed off in the passenger seat for the next few hours, and as the sun rose they decided to head to a gas station to refill the tank as well as dye their hair. Bam said that even though those thugs were dead, they’d seen their faces. There were probably cameras rigged all over their car, which meant that the other family might know what Bam and Sae look like by now.
It took less than an hour for their hair to get to the desired colors, Sae’s burgundy and Bam’s turquoise, and by the time they’d filled their gas tank and replenished supplies, the sun was high in the sky, beating down on them once again as they started off towards Yosu. Bam estimated it would be about four hours’ time, and Sae trusted him – Bam had the innate ability to be right 99.9% of the time.
So for now, Sae was trying to relax in the passenger seat, but wasn’t successful at all. He was hot and sweaty, his shirt had been discarded a while ago and he was debating stripping his pants, and he couldn’t stop pulling down the visor to look at himself in the mirror. At first he’d been iffy on having purple hair, but it actually didn’t look too bad on him. If anything it brought out his eyes even more. The contrast was pleasant, and Sae smiled lightly. For the first time in his life, he actually thought he was attractive. Not that he didn’t know it before, the hoards of girls following him were every clue, but it was the first time he’d actually thought it of himself.
Bam didn’t look half bad, either. In fact, the teal hair seemed to suit the explosive man. It was still beautiful and luscious as always, but now it was an interesting color. And with his dark sapphire eyes he looked like some sort of water god… or King of the Sea or something like that.
Sae dropped his head back against the seat and let out a long sigh, which made Bam glance over at him.
“You okay?”
The teen contemplated the meaning of ‘okay’, and then nodded. “Yeah, I guess.” He handled the shoot-out a lot better than he handled that woman dying. And most certainly he was feeling a bit more at ease now that he didn’t look like himself. Even though their eyes were a dead giveaway, they’d also bought sunglasses to cover those up. The J-rock scene was actually heavily convenient; with how many accessories they all wear it was the perfect guise. Surgical masks, fake piercings, caked on make-up, fake tattoos (fake because Sae refused to get anything real done, and Bam had decided to just sharpie on a few things and buy magnetic jewelery. And colored contacts, those were worn a lot in the J-rock scene, so for all anyone knew their eyes could be fake.
Sae took Bam’s genius for granted, that was for sure. He felt a little bad about that, since he had first viewed Bam as a careless imbecile that was flying by the seat of his pants. Bam wasn’t careless, he was tactical… but he was flying by the seat of his pants half of the time. And that was okay, everything balanced out and Sae appreciated that small bit of balance. He needed just a little bit to get by. He had been so grounded before he met Bam, but now his feet were slowly trying to pull away from the ground. He wasn’t sure what would happen when his feet finally flew him away, but it couldn’t be anything bad, right? Not with Bam around. Bam would protect him.
“You know, you actually look pretty good like that, Kicks.” Bam said, and Sae glanced away with a slight blush when he noticed the other man’s dark gaze washing over his body.
“Pervert.” Sae mumbled, and Bam just laughed.
“It was a compliment, Prince. Take it like a man.”
The prince ruffled his feathers and bristled slightly. “Hmph.”
Bam chuckled and shook his head. “You’re already slipping into your Princely duties quite nicely.”
Sae blinked and glanced over at Bam. “Eh?”
“You know,” Bam shrugged a bit. “Acting… huffy. I mean, you’re already pretty feisty.”
Cerulean eyes blinked, then narrowed slightly as Sae leaned over and pressed a finger into Bam’s cheek.
“You don’t know the meaning of feisty.” The teen grumbled, hooking his finger in Bam’s lip and pulling his cheek out, making Bam chuckle and whimper at the same time, batting the teen’s hands away.
“I don’t know feisty?” Bam asked, brows raised once Sae returned to his proper seating situation. The older man glanced over and winked. “Why don’t you show me ‘feisty’?”
A furious blush spread over Sae’s features, dusting over his cheeks and his ears, his arms folding instantly over his chest as he brought his feet up on the seat, staring out of the window at the scenery. His heart was pumping as fast as it had when he was shooting at those guys, and his brain was a bit fuzzy. What had Bam meant by that? Well duh, it was a purely sexually explicit comment, but- but- why? They were cousins, and… they were men! And Bam was at the minimum five years older than Sae. And- and-
Why wouldn’t the blush go away? Why couldn’t Sae force the provocative images out of his mind that were starting to cloud his vision? He closed his eyes and rested his chin on the door, the wind coming through the window and ruffling his hair, the slight breeze cooling his heated body down again.
Maybe he was just imagining it. Surely Bam didn’t mean it like that.
But… a part of Sae was tugging. A part of Sae wanted Bam to mean it like that.
But why?! The man was his cousin, his servant, his elder, and practically a stranger. Sae chalked it up to him still being a virgin and being torn away from any chance at love in his hometown, the sexual frustration being a bit… frustrating. Yeah. That’s it.
“Kicks?”
Sae yelped and flailed when Bam’s hand came into contact with his thigh, and he scrambled to try and melt into the door as quickly as possible to get away from the questing hand. When he opened his eyes and glanced over at Bam, he saw the turquoise-haired man staring at him blankly, a bit confused with his hand still out in the air.
“Er… we’re here…” Bam said cautiously, as if Sae were a frightened animal that would leap out of the window at any given moment.
Sae slowly unwound his body from the door and glanced around, finally noticing that they had stopped in a harbor. Wow, that was quick. How long had he been pondering?
It didn’t matter. They were at the harbor and Bam was already getting out and gathering their supplies. Sae got out of the van and stretched his body, grabbing his shirt and putting it on, not bothering to button it. He rounded to the back of the van and helped Bam pack their arsenal discreetly into a duffel bag, and then took the bag that Bam handed to him. It was much lighter than the guns, and while Sae didn’t want Bam to do all of the work, he also didn’t want that huge freaking load on his back.
Bam handed the keys of the van to a person that apparently was going to drive it onto the boat, and then they made their way onto the dock. There were various boats about; small boats, yachts, ferries.
“Which one is ours?” Sae asked, glancing around at all of the boats that were attached to the dock.
“That one.”
Sae followed Bam’s finger, and gulped when he saw a large cruise ship with passengers boarding. The ship was huge! Easily could fit a couple thousand people on it. Four levels high, about as wide as the LENGTH of a soccer field. Sae paled a bit as Bam continued walking, and he scurried to keep up.
“That… that’s amazing, Bam…” Sae said, still in awe as they started to board. Nobody checked their luggage or anything, and Bam was handed a fancy looking skeleton key as they made their way up the ramp. There were plenty of old couples and families, as well as newlyweds and happy couples. Sae pressed himself awfully close to Bam, a bit scared of being around so many people that he didn’t know. Bam complied by putting an arm around the teen’s shoulders, and speaking into his ear.
“Remember. I’m here to protect you.”
Sae felt a little more at east with that notion, and smiled a bit. Some people were giving them odd looks, but since their arsenal and weapons were in guitar cases most just assumed that they were musicians. It was so perfect. Like in the movies, almost. Sae couldn’t believe that he was part of something like this. Well obviously he could believe it, but he was still a bit shocked by everything, being dragged into it so fast. But he was managing, and that’s all that mattered, especially since now his life was on the line.
It was a bit surreal.
And now he was boarding the biggest boat he’d ever been on! This really was a huge turning point in his life and while he was more than ready to accept it, he was still a bit hesitant. He followed Bam to the elevator, where they were grouped with a few other people, and started up to the top floor.
“I got us a good room,” Bam commented as they went up. The elevator was made of clear glass, giving a view of the ‘lobby’ of the boat – which was lavish and ornate, decorated Victorian style with paintings and expensive furniture everywhere.
They got off on the top floor alone, as the last people in the elevator got off on the third. This must have been a suite, Sae figured, since it was obvious the Joo clan had a lot of money to toss around even though they were out of power. They stepped off of the elevator and walked down a short hallway with a single door at the end, and when Bam unlocked it and opened it, Sae almost dropped his luggage – almost, because it was full of explosives.
His jaw nearly dropped to the floor as the huge room was presented to him. There was no ceiling, only clear glass that gave way to the beautiful twilight sky. The walls were painted like a tropical paradise, with palm trees and wilderness depicted. There was an Olympic-sized pool in the middle of everything, surrounded by fine white sand and beach chairs. Off to the right there was what looked like a cabana, where a screen partitioned the biggest bed Sae had laid his eyes on. To the left was a lavish, ornate bathroom with a tub large enough to fit twenty people, as well as a shower with random designs swirled on the glass doors to prevent anyone from seeing inside. The room was amazing, with various seating areas, a big screen television as well as an expensive-looking entertainment system; and the last thing that Sae noticed were a pair of French doors leading out to a balcony.
He set down the guitar case carefully and made his way over to the doors, opening them and letting the fresh sea breeze caress his skin, the moist air calming him and cooling him down immediately. He put his hands on the railing and glanced down – he could see the other decks of the boat, people milling about. It was the perfect people-watching spot. And straight out was the endless ocean that they were about to cross, seagulls and other birds flocking about in the sky.
“Do you like?” Bam asked, as he brought in their stuff and started to get everything settled.
“This is amazing,” Sae breathed, turning around and smiling handsomely towards his cousin. “This is the most beautiful thing I’ve been to… been on.” His skin was shimmering with a light layer of sweat that was cooling, his toned body exposed by the white shirt that was unbuttoned still, and billowing around him. His hair was ruffling slightly with the breeze, and Bam coughed lightly and turned away.
“I’m glad you like it.” He smiled as well as he started to tuck away their valuables. “Only the best for my Prince.~”
Sae rolled his eyes lightly. “Yeah, yeah.” He glanced around, wanting to try everything at once. That pool looked so tempting… but his walking was interrupted when his stomach roared with hunger. He blushed and placed a hand over his belly, glancing over to Bam sheepishly.
“Hungry?” Bam asked, raising a brow and chuckling, moving over to a wardrobe. “We can catch dinner.”
Sae smiled. He could only imagine what type of food they served on a cruise ship…
Maybe being a prince wouldn’t ruin his life. He could get used to the pampering easily enough. He just hoped that Bam would be staying by his side through it all. Even though Bam had already said, right away, that they were stuck together forever, Sae was still frightened of the man leaving his side, for anything. The man offered comfort and security, something that the teen needed desperately at this time.
But with a reassuring smile cast in the youth’s direction, Sae’s worries melted. Bam was here for him. And he was here for Bam, the best he could be.
He just hoped that they both would come out of this alive.

A/N: :D? This took a few days to write because I’ve been partying for the past few days. xD;;
No special notes for this chapter. I’ve never been on a cruise ship, so I’m just gonna be spinning off of what I’ve seen on movies… and adding my own flair. I wanna stay in a suite like Sae’s, though. @_@ That would be amazing. ^_^
Next chapter = cruise party tiems. :]
So uh. Leave a review, kids. The smut will be happening soon enough. ;D

A/N: :D? This took a few days to write because I’ve been partying for the past few days. xD;;
The smut will be happening soon enough. ;D
