Chapter III: The Truth Revealed
Kira woke up a couple hours later with a massive headache; He stood up in his bed, and looked down at Kin resting peacefully next to him. Even with the pain he was experiencing, he managed a tiny smile, then slowly got up out of the bed, trying his hardest not to wake Kin. He stumbled to the bathroom and opened the medicine cabinet, and noticed that he was out of pain reliever, “Damn it!” he said under his breath. He then headed toward the kitchen to see if there was any there.
But he was not so lucky, so he decided to just lounge about on the couch. After a few minutes, he picked up the newspaper from the day before, “Why doesn’t anything exciting ever happen around here?” he asked himself, just as he heard his door knock
“What the hell?!” he said, and he looked at the clock,
“Damn, it’s already 7?”
He crawled to his feet and slowly walked towards the door where he unlocked and opened it cautiously just enough to peer outside, where stood a tall, slender man, with long, curly, obsidian hair, and
beautiful magenta eyes behind a pair of slender glasses.
Kira asked, “Can I help you?”
The man answered in a very, subtle tone while peering up and down at Kira’s half-clothed body “Perhaps -- perhaps you can; I am looking for someone.”
At that same moment Kin walked into the living room and looked at Kira curiously.
Kira looked to Kin gave him a warm smile, that was promptly returned.
Then Kira turned back to the man, “Who is it you’re looking for?”
The man replied, “Please excuse my rudeness, allow me to introduce myself first, I am Turiel Koix” afterwards he extended his hand to Kira expecting a handshake, which Kira obliged.
Kin gasped when he heard Turiel’s name and ran back into the bedroom. Kira asked Turiel if he would hold on for a moment, then went to the bedroom to check on Kin.
“Kin, what’s wrong?”
Kin was obviously upset, but quietly asked Kira “Please don’t let him take me back!”
“Take you back?” Kira asked, “Back to where?”
Kin replied, “Just, please… please don’t let him take me…”
Kira said “Alright, I promise, No one will take you away from me, let me go get rid of him.”
Kin looked up to him with tears in his eyes and said “Thank you.”
Kira walked back towards the living room and locking and closing the bedroom door behind him. He then grabbed a shirt out of the hall closet and slipped it on, when he returned to the living room Turiel was sitting on the couch reading yesterday’s paper.
"Nothing interesting ever happens around here, does it?" said Turiel
Kira asked him “Turiel was it? Who are you looking for?”
Turiel removed his glasses and put them into his pocket then replied “Oh, Hello, It started to rain outside so I just let myself in.” He chuckled “I hope you don’t mind”
“It's fine, but I asked you a question.”
“Oh, I’m so sorry, How rude of me” he answered “Yes, I was looking for someone, a boy, somewhat short, but with long golden hair”
Kira paused for a moment, and then answered, “Haven’t seen him.”
Turiel looked at him with shifty eyes, “Are you sure? I could have sworn I sensed... Never mind, I’ll be going now, if you do see him, I’ll be in town for a while at the Golden Crown Hotel, just ask for me. I can... Reward you.” He stepped out the front door, but failed to close it all the way. So Kira sighed and walked over to the door shutting it loudly, but apparently the man had... disappeared.
Kira said to himself, “That guy was creepy.”
Kin let himself out of the bedroom, and walked up to Kira to give him a hug, “Thank you.” he said.
Kira turned and gave him a little kiss on the forehead, then asked “Who was that guy, Kin?”
Kin looked away and said “A ghost… A ghost from my past.” He then walked into the kitchen to pour himself a glass of water.
Kira looked at him, and replied “There was something strange about him; he gave off a strange feeling.”
Kin looked at him and walked to the couch where he slowly sat down, and then he beckoned Kira to sit with him. “Kira, that man… he… he is a very bad man, he did horrible things to me.”
Kira replied “Horrible things? Can’t you call the police or something?”
Kin shook his head and said, “You don’t understand Kira... we... I mean...Me and him, we aren’t like you, we are from a place far, far away...”
Kira looked puzzled and asked, “Like Germany or something? You know as well as I do that I barely know anything about you little tawainai.”
“No, Kira, Not like Germany” Kin said as he rested his head on Kira’s shoulder.
“Kin, I want to help you, but, I just don’t understand..."
“Just… please… don’t let him take me.” Kin said, as his eyes started to well up with tears yet again.
Kira wrapped his arm around Kin, “Don’t worry little tawainai, nobody will take you from me, I swear, I’ll die before I see that happen.”
“But, can you tell me anything else? I’m so very confused right now…” he continued.
Kin looked at him and asked, “Kira, Do you trust me?” and slowly put his hand to Kira’s cheek
Kira looked down into his beautiful golden eyes and replied, “Of course I do.”
Kin slowly pulled himself closer to Kira and gave him an unexpected gift... A kiss, straight on the lips.
"Kin..."
“Kira; me and him… The place we are from, Is far up in the sky, a place most humans don’t know about, however there is a human corporation known as Armada. They hunt us down, and… and they study us, they cut us up and poke us with sharp objects…”
“So… Those scars on your arms and legs...”
Kin answered, “Yes, they did this to me, a long time ago, but Turiel saved me from them, and took me home. Though when he was through with me… or rather with what he wanted from me; he sold me back to them” by now tears were rolling down Kin’s face.
Kira said, “Please don’t cry, I’m here little tawainai.” Kira hugged him closely, and asked,
“So this place in the sky, is where Turiel lives? Do you have a family there?”
“No… Armada killed my family… except for me and my little sister.
“You have a sister? Where is she?”
“I don’t know… I lost her when Armada finally caught me; she managed to get away though.
“So will Armada be looking for you again? Was Turiel looking for you to give you back to them?
Kin began to cry, “Please, it’s just too much, I don't know what Turiel wants with me now...”
Kira brushed his hand against Kin's cheek “I’m sorry, I’ll let you rest. I was just trying to clear up all the confusion, please forgive me little tawainai." After a brief moment of silence It suddenly struck Kira as to what day it was. "Damn it, it’s Monday, I have work today, will you be alright by yourself for a few hours?”
Kin looked into Kira's eyes, “What if Turiel comes back?”
Kira was stressed out by now, “Damn it, You're right... I'm going to call in sick. Okay?”
Kin looked away, "Is that alright? You won't get in trouble will you?"
"Don't worry about me little tawainai. You are most important right now" Kira smiled at him before going to the telephone.
"Hello? Ms. Yakina? Can you let the boss know I won't be in for a few days... I seem to come down with something." he paused for a moment, "Right, Thank you Ms. Yakina." and he hung up.
Kin looked at Kira and asked, “Don't you go to some kind of academy?”
Kira returned to his side, and knelt down taking Kin's hand in his, “Yeah, but, it's summer; I don't need to go for a few weeks. Don't worry, I won't ever leave your side when you need me.” Kira smiled at Kin, staring into his eyes.
Kin said to him softly, “Thank you, Kira.”
Kira paused, then asked “Little tawainai; will you tell me more about you? Or do you not feel up to it right now?” he continued, “I'm just so confused... I never heard of anyone living in the sky before.”
Kin smiled at him, “Okay, I..it is probably best if you know... Turiel is an Arch Malakim, but he abuses his power and -”
Kira interrupted “Wait a moment, Did you say Arch Malakim? Isn't that like... an angel?”
“Yes. It's true, you humans call us angels.”
“...but, aren't angels like... dead people? So does that mean you and him are dead?”
Kin shook his head and chuckled, “No Kira, angels aren't dead people, thats a myth humans created to control their offspring. When people die they don't become angels, however sometimes they are reborn as angels, but that is very rare, angels are a race, like humans, but our duty is to guide human spirits into hades, and if a human doesn't believe in angels, their spirits get lost, and eternally wander the world.”
“Wow...” Kira continued. “So you said Turiel is a Malakim? Is that a special kind of angel?”
“Yes, Malakims are a special kind of angel that hunts down rogue angels fallen angels and keep everything in perfect order.”
“So, Kin, are you a rogue angel?” Kira asked.
Kin answered, “No. I'm not. I just know too much about what Turiel does...”
Kira tilted his head and asked, “What kind of angel are you little tawainai?”
Kin answered, “I am Elohim”
“Elohim?”
“Yes, we are in charge of judging the humans, we decide where they go when they die.”
“I'm sorry for interrupting you. You were saying something about Turiel abusing his power?” asked Kira.
“It's okay, and yes... h...he takes innocent angels, charges them with false crimes, then takes him for his own personal pleasure...” Kin said.
“Don't angels have police then? Can't you ask them for help?” Kira asked.
Kin replied, “The Malakim are the 'police' for angels, and Turiel is in charge of all of them... Kira, can we stop talking about this? Please?”
Kira said “Yes, but could I ask one more thing, Don't angels have wings?”
Kin chuckled and said, “Yeah!” and continued, “I have four, but if I release them, Turiel would sense it, so I can't show you right now.”
Kira smiled at Kin, then said “Hey little tawanai? Is it just me or do you seem a little different today? More mature?"
"Do I? I'm sorry Kira, does it make you sad?"
Kira smiled at him, “Of course not little tawainai.”
Kin nodded to him and asked “So... Even though I lied to you, and even though I'm not a human, you don't hate me right?”
Kira looked down at him, and frowned, then walked back to to the couch and got down on his knees before Kin, “I don't hate you, In fact I don't think I'm even capable. Do you know why?”
Kin looked at Kira curiously, and at the same time, confused. “Why?” he asked.
“Because... Kin, I Love you, with all my heart, I don't care what you are, I will always Love you. Why, I don't know, but I've felt this way ever since I first saw you.” Kira gave him a hug before heading back to the kitchen
"Kira... Wait."
“Yes little tawainai?”
Kin jumped off the couch, and practically flew into Kira's arms giving him a most passionate hug.
