Blood Stained Roses

Chapter 3

It was pitch black as Kisaki wandered around. He did not know where he was, where he was going, or what he was searching for, but for some reason he knew he was looking for something.

"Kisaki, get out of here, please!" someone pleaded. The voice was so familiar, but for some reason he could not place it. Was it from a long, long time ago? So long that he could not remember to whom it had belonged?

"No!" it was his own voice this time, "I can't!"

"You have to! I'll be fine, just go!"

"No!"

Low, menacing laughter filled the air. It was undoubtedly Ryou's. Kisaki could see a picture coming into focus. It became clearer and clearer until...

...He opened his eyes. Kisaki blinked a few times and sat up, putting his head in his hands. What was that about?

"My poor Kisaki, you're sweating! Did you have a nightmare?" Ryou asked, he was leaning against the door with his arms crossed casually.

Kisaki whipped his head around. He had had no idea Ryou had been there. He glared at the dark-haired vampire who was grinning his horrible, evil grin.

"Get out," he growled.

"Come now, Kisaki, there's no need for hostility. I just wanted to make sure you were alright. Anyway, I have no intention of staying long. I have other business to attend to," Ryou said smugly.

The smile on his face had became more sinister. Kisaki automatically understood what he meant and shook his head. It went unnoticed as Ryou was already leaving. He pulled his knees to his chest and covered his ears. He did not want to hear anything today.

***

It had been two days since Ryou had last visited Chuu. During this short amount of time, Chuu had begun to get angry by his stack of unanswered questions but also anxious and scared about what would happen when the beautiful vampire decided to make another appearance.

That was why he did not know how to react when Ryou finally did walk through the door again.

"Hello, Chuu-chan," Ryou said pleasantly.

Chuu just blinked.

"You won't even say 'hello' to me? That's not very nice," said Ryou disapprovingly.

He tilted Chuu's head up to face him as he had the last time they had met. The boy just stared timidly, bracing himself for whatever was going to happen.

"My, my, whatever will I do with you?" he asked rhetorically.

He kissed Chuu forcefully, devouring his small mouth and pushing him back so he was lying down on the bed. Ryou felt him tense beneath him and smiled into the kiss. Slowly, painfully slow, his hand brushed down the smaller body before stroking Chuu's crotch.

In response, Chuu began trashing around violently... or at least he tried. The immovable body above him prevented too much kicking or shoving. He did, however, manage to break the kiss. He covered his mouth with his hands.

"Now, what did you have to do that for?" asked Ryou. "I guess you leave me no choice."

He pulled off Chuu's dark blue sleeveless shirt. He tore Chuu's hands from his mouth, holding them above his head for a minute before tying the smaller man's own shirt securely around his slender wrists.

"Wha-what are you doing?" Chuu asked starting to panic.

"It's your own fault," Ryou replied, but the smirk on his face said that he was obviously enjoying this.

He began kissing Chuu's neck. The smaller body tensed again and he let out a scream as he felt a fang pierce his skin just a little. Ryou swallowed the screams by covering his mouth once again with his own. One of his hands returned to the job it had begun earlier, but this time he went farther. He broke off the kiss to remove Chuu's remaining clothes.

Instead of returning to kiss Chuu's face, Ryou remained where he was and continued caressing Chuu's hardening member and watching his reaction. This was a game to him. Exploring what would happen if he did this... or that. He removed his hand and replaced it with his mouth.

Chuu cursed his body for giving in so easily. He hated how Ryou's touches made him become erect and caused him to moan softly. He hated how good it felt as he took him in his mouth. He did not want this... but he could not resist the urge to come. Ryou seemed to realize this because he withdrew from Chuu's erection to whispered in his ear.

"Not yet, love," he said, "There is still so much ahead of you."

He returned to kiss other parts of Chuu's body, leaving little bites here and there, listening to the beautiful cries that Chuu let out every time he felt his fangs. These bites were not enough to kill him. Ryou did not drink from the punctures in the skin, either. He was always careful not to kill unless he wanted to... and he definitely did not want to. Things were just beginning to get interesting around his mansion.

He pulled away yet again and began to remove his own clothes. Chuu's eyes widened as he figured out what was happening. Ryou's organ was already erect. He forced Chuu's legs apart though he tried so hard to kick Ryou away. The vampire did not even seem to notice the kicks. It was not like they would hurt him. Feeling Ryou's erection at his entrance, Chuu squeezed his eyes shut and held his breath.

"Relax, it'll make it easier," Ryou said.

Chuu could not relax. Not while he was about to be penetrated. He was about to be penetrated.

Ryou began thrusting into him deep and hard. Chuu's body and his mouth both screamed for him to stop, but it was pointless. As Ryou moved in and out of him and the pain grew before it receded slightly, he could somehow feel a strange pleasure that sickened him. How could he feel anything that could remotely be considered good at a time like this? How...

He felt Ryou's come released deep inside of him and he could feel his own on his stomach. Chuu stared dazedly at the ceiling. He knew he could not move. He had a faint idea that his blood was leaking out of him through tiny puncture wounds on various parts of his body, but there was nothing he could do -- he was a doll.

Ryou kissed his forehead.

"'til we meet again," he muttered.

With that, Ryou left Chuu alone in the room. Somewhere in Chuu's mind, he wondered if Ryou was even dressed. It seemed like a stupid thing to wonder considering he had left the room, but it seemed like too short of a time for anyone to get dressed... then again it could have been hours. Time had been moving far too slowly ever since Ryou had entered the room.

He closed his eyes. It does not matter, he decided. Nothing did at that moment. He was tired and in pain. He relaxed to the best of his abilities and let himself drift. What bliss a dreamless sleep would be.

***

"Yuna-chan, go get Kisaki," ordered Ryou. "Tell him to take care of our guest."

"Y-yes, sir..." Yuna faltered for a minute; Kisaki never did anything like this.

She left to find him. On her way, she ran into something hard. The force pushed her back to the ground. It was the requested, standing there, looking down at her.

"Ryou-sama wa-"

"I know, I heard."

He left without another word. Something was wrong. Worry was showing through his carefully made mask. He paused just outside of Chuu's room, one hand on the doorknob, and took a deep breath. What would he find in there? He did not want to know, but he had to go in. Kisaki took another deep breath and pushed the door open. For a minute, he thought that Chuu was dead. There was blood scattered on his body... but his chest was rising and falling with soft breathing.

"Yuna," he muttered, knowing she was right outside the door, "tell Yami to get a change of sheets. After that, run a warm bath."

"Yes, sir," she said, leaving without a sound for no more than a second. Yami was already coming with fresh sheets.

"Chuu-san..." Kisaki said in a soft voice, "Please wake up. I'm going to help you, but you have to wake up first."

Chuu groaned and partially opened his eyes to see Kisaki's attractive face filled with concern. He could not say anything; his voice was gone. Instead, he let himself be picked up -- not that he had any way of resisting -- and carried to the bathroom.

Yuna had run the bath like Kisaki had asked. It was filled with warm water that felt good on Chuu's bruised, aching body. He felt everything melt away and the warmth began to lull him back to sleep.

"Now's not a good time to sleep," Kisaki murmured.

"Wh na?" was all Chuu could get out.

"After you're clean."

"Promise?"

"Promise."

He strained to keep his eyes open. There had to be something he could think of or something he could do to keep him awake... something pleasant. He did not want to think of what had just happened, though he knew it would keep him awake. He decided he would try talking... hopefully he could get his voice out.

"Why are you helping me?" he asked.

Kisaki seemed to choose his words carefully before replying: "I have to."

"You don't have to do anything. You're avoiding the question," this came out, as a sleepy mutter, but Kisaki seemed to catch all of it.

He gave a short humorless laugh, "I guess you're right... but then again sometimes you really don't have a choice."

"You're not making any sense... but I take it that you won't tell me. So can I guess? He ordered you, didn't he?" Chuu asked; so much for a pleasant subject.

There was no need for need for him to be more specific. They both knew who he was talking about. It was also obvious that he was right because Kisaki froze for a second before returning to the task of cleaning Chuu.

"So I was right..." he whispered, "and the last time you were here... was it on his order?"

"No."

"Then why?"

Kisaki stopped, one hand rested on Chuu's bare shoulder, "I don't know."

"Still avoiding questions," breathed Chuu.

"I'm not avoiding questions... I really... don't know," Kisaki sounded tired. "Now let me ask a question: Why aren't you afraid of me?"

The hand that had rested on Chuu's shoulder went down to touch a small bite on Chuu's chest. Blood still flowed freely from it, but it had slowed. Kisaki knew Ryou would not have left anything fatal.

"I'm sure you know what I am..." he whispered.

Chuu struggled to turn his head so he could look at him. He looked pained... almost like he would cry, though his eyes remained dry.

"I don't know," he said truthfully.

He tried to move his arm, to put his hand on Kisaki's, but before he even had a chance to attempt this, the hand was gone. Feeling strange, Chuu looked away from the beautiful face he had struggled to see.

"Anyway, I should take you back to your room. I need to bandage you up and get you into some clean clothes," Kisaki said as he picked Chuu up out of the tub, disorienting him.

He carried Chuu back to his room and set him down, gently on the bed.

"Can you sit up?" Kisaki asked.

Chuu struggled to do as he was asked. For a second, he was sitting normally, but soon after, he winced in pain and fell back onto the pillows that were stacked at the top of the bed. He was relieved that they were there. They were fluffy and soft and did not hurt his back.

"Guess not," Kisaki observed. "Hold on, I'll be back in a minute."

He disappeared into the bathroom.

"Like I have any other choice," mumbled Chuu when Kisaki was out of sight.

He reemerged a moment later with a roll of gauze in one hand and a small bottle of some kind of ointment in the other. Kisaki grabbed a chair and sat beside Chuu's bed. Slowly, he moved the small body into a sitting position that made Chuu flinch in pain.

"Sorry..."

"It's okay... I guess I have no other choice. It's this or bleed to death," Chuu said with what he hoped was a smile.

Kisaki nodded.

"Now, how am I going to do this?" he mused. "I guess I'll just have to wrap you up..."

"Eh... like a mummy?" Chuu asked.

"Not that much."

The ointment was applied to the bleeding wounds on Chuu before the gauze was wrapped around Chuu's upper body and some places on his arms and legs. Chuu watched him and realized that all he could see was a blur of color as Kisaki wound the gauze around his small body. He blushed as he remembered he was naked. Of course now seemed like a strange time to notice something so obvious, but it just had not occurred to him. His mind had been elsewhere.

After covering his wounds, Kisaki got some pajamas and helped Chuu into them. He had never felt so helpless; he hated it. Kisaki even pulled the covers up for him. Somewhere in the chaos of his mind, Chuu wondered when the sheets had been changed.

"You can sleep now," said Kisaki as he turned to leave.

A hand emerged from the blankets and grabbed the dark fabric of his shirt. He stopped, feeling the slight tug. Slowly, his head turned, light blue eyes examining the fragile looking Chuu.

"Please don't leave," Chuu pleaded.

Kisaki sighed, "I don't understand you."

"Please."

It was obvious that Kisaki was hesitating. He had not expected him to be like this. Finally he spoke.

"Alright... but only for a little while."

"Thank you."

Kisaki nodded. "Just go to sleep," he said softly.

"G'night."

"Good night."

He studied Chuu's face as it slowly began to relax as sleep took over. Why was he doing this? What was it that Ryou knew and was not telling him? There was obviously something going on that only he could explain, but he would not because that was how Ryou was. He liked to sit back and watch other people fidget.

When he was sure that Chuu was asleep, Kisaki got up and headed for the door. Only seconds after leaving he heard Chuu begin to mutter in his sleep. He peeked into the room to see him shaking violently beneath the covers. Soft moans were coming from his small mouth.

"No...!" he muttered frantically.

Kisaki sighed. How could he leave Chuu alone now? He took a seat beside the bed. Instinctively, he put his hand on Chuu's head and stroked his hair gently. Any form of noise that had left his mouth earlier died down, but the shaking did not stop. Kisaki was beginning to wonder if he had a fever. Someone would have to check with a thermometer in the morning. Feeling his forehead would not do any good; Kisaki was always cold. To him, Chuu would always feel like he had a temperature of over a hundred degrees Fahrenheit. It was one of those things that came with being a vampire.

Now and then Chuu would mutter something, but it did not get as bad as it had been. After what had happened last time, Kisaki was afraid to leave again. He did not want Chuu to start screaming. Instead, he found himself staring at the sleeping face before him. Without thinking, he leaned over and softly kissed his pink lips.

"Kisaki..." mumbled Chuu, still obviously asleep.

The said person froze; his face still just inches away from Chuu's. Then, realizing what he had just done, he sat up straight in his chair and looked away from Chuu. He had to get out of there.

***

Chuu awoke to find a hand resting lightly on his head. However, the moment his eyes opened, the hand was gone. Sleepily, Chuu turned to see Kisaki sitting in the same chair he had been on the night before.

"You're still here," he half whispered.

His response was a quick nod and Kisaki getting up. This seemed to be his chance to finally leave. Chuu was awake now, there would not be anymore screaming or whimpering or any other pathetic noises that would make him feel guilty. He was not needed anymore.

"Where are you going?" Chuu asked, sitting up on the bed.

This proved to be a mistake. He winced and fell back. Somehow, he had managed to forget his injuries for that split second. Now that he remembered, the pain hit him like a tidal waving crashing into rocks.

"You shouldn't move around too much," Kisaki sighed. So much for getting out. "Just stay put and I'll change your bandages..."

"Okay."

When Kisaki came back, he had what must have been a new roll of gauze considering they had used the entire one from the night before. He took the same seat as before.

"You're going to have to sit up," he told Chuu, "and we're going to have to take off your clothes."

Chuu nodded, his face turning red at the thought of Kisaki seeing him naked... again. He tried to remind himself that he was a man -- that they both were -- it should not be a big deal, right? Anyway, Kisaki was just helping him out. It was not like Chuu could put the bandages on by himself.

"You've stopped shaking..." said Kisaki as he helped Chuu take off his shirt. "That's good. I was starting to worry that you had a fever."

"You... were worried about...me?"

"Well," Kisaki paused, searching for something to say, "...if something serious was to happen, we don't have the proper technology to help you."

Chuu smiled, "Thank you for worrying... and for staying with me, Kisaki-san."

"You shouldn't thank me for things like that. If I hadn't stayed with you, your screaming would have kept everyone up," his voice was suddenly harsh and it hit Chuu like a frigid wind.

"I suggest you don't get too attached to me... or anyone else around here. Whether we like it or not, we are all Ryou's puppets. We can only resist so much... Don't forget what we are. Especially don't forget that. We're vampires. We kill so we can survive," Kisaki continued coldly.

The sudden change in him scared Chuu. He did not know how to respond and found himself staring wide-eyed at the vampire, muttering questions, trying so hard to understand.

"Why... why are you acting like this all of a sudden? Did I do something wrong? Did I offend you?" he asked frantically.

He was not usually like this, but he felt alone there and that made him worry more about what they thought of him. This was not school where he was liked by enough people that one did not matter.

"You didn't do anything," he said, his voice softening a little, "but you seem to forget where you are. You're forgetting what everyone in this house is and who we work for. If he ordered it, you would end up dead. You would have no chance. I should know; I've been with him longer than anyone."

He did not like telling Chuu this. It was the truth, but he did not want to scare him. He did not want to be harsh. What Kisaki wanted was to take him in his arms, hold him and tell him that he would protect him. He could not do that, though. Fear of breaking such a promise held him back as well as fear of what would happen if Ryou found out. No, he could not become close to this person. He had to resist the pull. If he could not, there could be hell to pay.

"I don't need to be reminded where I am!" Chuu's voice suddenly became louder. "I have enough reminders of what I'm surrounded by all over my body! You've seen them!"

Kisaki gave no form of reply to his outburst. Instead, he grabbed a pile of clothes off a table in the room.

"I'll just get you dressed and leave," he said.

"Fine."

He did exactly as he said he would. When he was gone, Chuu felt tears sting his eyes as he stared at the closed door. It must have been a dream. Kisaki was far too distant to have done anything like that... but he could feel Kisaki's lips pressed against his own and it seemed so real.

He shook his head violently. Definitely a dream. Chuu smiled bitterly to himself. Now was when he would usually try to convince himself that he was not gay... but what use was it? He could not like to himself. Something was pulling him toward Kisaki and he could not get away.
