Part 3: Fixture

Several days pass with still no explanation to the 20 minutes of extra sleep 95% of the town experienced. Ted has his suspicious, but to admit them to even Tony and Toni would mean admitting the orb was more powerful then he was comfortable with. Tony was already harping on him to get more practices with it but Ted was just happy to let thing flow they way they were. Today was a particularly good day for Ted as he strolled arm in arm with Toni into his house in the mid Saturday afternoon. Toni purred as Ted stretched out on the living room couch, as his eyes grew heavy she giggled and jostled him before he drifted off to far to sleep.

“Master, Master don’t go to sleep just yet, I need to know what you would like for dinner chicken or lasagna?”

Ted smiled, almost purring himself “What about fish, make an extra helping for yourself.”

“Really master!” the catgirl said with more then her usually exuberance. “Thank you master.”

Ted yawned as he let himself drift off to dream land. Toni hopped back to the kitchen, her clothes shifting and changing around her until her skirt and blouse outfit was replaced by what almost looked like a full body condom or a rubber suit. Bending over Toni began to gather her supplies from the fridge, her tail swaying behind her. The scent of a human female soon alerted Toni to a new visitor to the kitchen and she quickly pulled out of the fridge with vegetables and the fish in her arms. Closing the door with her foot she turned around and set the food down on a near counter and then smiled at a brown haired girl who couldn’t be older then 18 or 19.

“Lady Jessica!” Toni exclaimed cheerfully. “I didn’t expect you home so early!”

Jessica glared at the catgirl inquisitively “You’re that new girl in town. What are you doing in my house?”

Toni giggled “Master Teddy just took a nap in the living room. I was getting ready to make dinner for the family. I hope you enjoy the lunch I prepared today.”

Jessica paused, “Wait, Ted didn’t do that? You did?”

She purred “I hope you liked it.”

“And this morning? And yesterday?”

Toni nodded “Master Teddy and Anthony has been really nice to me since I got here so I’ve been preparing meals for both houses since my arrival.”

Jessica slowly smiled “You talk funny, and normally girls like you…”

“Catgirls?”

“Super happy girly girls…” Jessica corrected, “Usually they really grind my gears, but I’ve only just met you and I can’t help but like you.”

“I have that effect on people.” Toni smiled “I’m making fish, would you like to help?”

“Can I, I love your cooking, it’s so…so...gormet!”

“I can teach you!” Toni giggled.

“Would you?” Jessica began before finally noting the attire. “Uh, what’s up with the rubber suit?”

“How else does a catgirl keep her fur out of the food when cooking?” Toni laughed.

Jessica also laughed as Toni directed her to the cutter board with the vegetables. As the girls worked Jessica stroked Toni’s hair several times, making the catgirl purrs and when they were done Jessica was as chipper as Toni. Ted awoke to the sweet scent of baked fish and made his way into the kitchen to see Toni and Jessica putting up portions into Tupperware to store for Ted and Jessica’s parents while 3 place settings were set out for them. Ted took his seat as the girls sat down giggling, Ted looked at them confused.

“What’s so funny Jesse?”

“Your girlfriend Toni is, she makes me feel like I’m dancing on a cloud.”

Ted laughed “Yeah she does that. So I guess my secret is out, the great cook is none other then the sexy girl in the tiger fur, She started sneaking in to prepare it and I wasn’t quite sure how to say ‘Mom, Dad, Jesse, a furry girl snuck into the house last night and make breakfast.’”

Jesse laughed, “Yeah, I can see how that might not go over well, our secret bro, well just pretend those first few days she made them at home and just dropped them off.”

“Thanks Jesse.”

“So you two love birds planning anything after dinner?”

“I was gonna just veg? Why?”

Jesse giggled, “Well you mind if I steal hot paws and head down to the mall?”

Ted shrugged and he dug into the fish, “Just don’t take too long, I don’t want Tony’s parents to get worried if Toni isn’t back in a few more hours.”

Toni giggled “Thank you Master Teddy, I haven’t been shopping in a long time. And I really like Lady Jessica.”

Ted laughed “You two really hit it off, I swear if you had Toni’s ears and tail I’d think you were her sister instead of mine Jesse.”

The three laughed as Ted finished up, taking his dish to the counter and wishing it off before slipping it into the machine. A bowl of popcorn sat waiting for him. He looked to Toni who just smiled and took the popcorn as he headed into the main room. A few minutes later he heard Jessica’s car pull out of the driveway.

A couple hours later Ted heard Jessica’s car pull back into the way, he paused the DVD and got up as she came in the door alone. As she sauntered in, a large pair of tan cat ears and a tan tail hanging limply behind her on her head Ted almost passed out. Then she giggled and reached up with one hand and behind with another and removed the items.

“I was not expecting that reaction bro, did they look that garish on me.”

Ted coughed, “Er, um no, they actually looked quite real, for a second there I thought Toni had given you her ears and tail.”

Jessica laughed, “I wish, for a genetic disorder her ears and tail are sure lively, she has really learned to take advantage of her deformity. She’s a nice girl, a nice fit for you.”

“Thanks, I really love spending time with her.”

“And her folks are really nice, such a sweet old couple.”

“Her…her folks?” Ted said almost loosing his cool, almost.

“You never meet the Morgannas? They’re a great couple.”

Ted flustered, “Erm she just sorta always came over so…no.”

“You should.”

Ted was determined to do just that, Toni was suppose to be a construct, now she had a family? How was that possible? Ted woke up early the next morning when Toni was over making breakfast and he waited for her to be done before calling her over.

“Toni?”

The catgirl sauntered over purring and immediately pressed her lips to Ted’s mouth; Ted enjoyed the sweet taste of her lips and the soft warmth of her body for a few minutes before he separated. It took a good half minute for his brain to reset.

“You have parents?” he said bluntly.

“Sorta, when the magic created me it found a couple who had just moved in here who had no kids and inserted me into their memories. I have a photo album at home as well; you wanna see?”

“Definitely, and meet them…” he began, “But wait don’t they get worried when your gone all day as Tony?”

“The magic smoothes out the details. Don’t worry, we familiars have been around a long time, the magic is iron clad.”

Ted had to see this for himself, and for once he dragged Tony along for the ride. The couple was a little older then his own parents and seemed to be full of the same life and energy as Toni, it was obvious her memories were good for them. The boys enjoyed some hot chocolate and cookies while they remised about Toni’s youth. The boys found out Toni was teased as a girl for her looks but she never let it hold her down. She would often say ‘It’s like I get to wear a costume every day, everyone else only has one day a year.’ She enjoyed playing the part of the cat and even had a few as pets. Tony even took home a few spare photos. It was amazing how much of a false life the spell had created. And again it got Ted thinking of just how powerful the orb had to be. But he ignored it, if he didn’t he would have to admit Tony was right and that all that power would come with some baggage attached. The way Ted figured if he used the magic sparingly no harm could come of it.
