Chapter 3

Eh . . . ? I looked at Cole, blushing a bit because of how close he seemed to be all of a sudden.

Trying my best to smile (I know I looked goofy), I slightly backed away from him. Ohh smooth . . . wonder if he noticed that?

“Well . . . thanks . . . ” I muttered, feeling a little flustered. Now I’m not the smartest guy in the world, heck Chase is smarter then me sometimes (kid genies, he is), but I’m quite sure Cole was flirting with me just then.

I mean, come on ‘I’m sure you will . . . soon.’ Why did he pause before saying soon, and lean closer to me? And just why did it seem like his voice got a little lower?

Okay, I’m reading too much in this. Calm down, Kyle. Just breathe!

“Kyle?”

I jumped, looking at the hand that was now resting on my shoulder. Looking up, my confused brown eyes met concerned blue eyes.

“What?” Curse it! Why did my voice sound squeaky?

“You okay?”

I blinked. What does he mean am I okay? Oh . . . maybe he’s worried about my silence. Aww, he’s so sweet!

A little flushed, I nodded, “of course.” I gave Cole a smile, nearly passing out when the hand on my shoulder squeezed before pulling away.

“Good. When do you want me . . . ”

Huh? What . . . what did he say? When do I want him . . . well let’s see . . . No, stop daydreaming.

Getting my head out of the gutter, I managed to catch the rest of Cole’s sentence.

“... to come over?”

Ahaha . . . so that’s what he was asking. God, I am such a pervert.

“My parents are leaving in two days, so the day before they leave so we can get you settled in.”

I looked up, biting my lip. Okay now I’m nervous . . . I have to tell Cole about the sleeping arrangements, but I’m too embarrassed.

I’m guessing Cole’s a mind reader (oh God no) because I could hear him let out a small chuckle, “You don’t have an extra room, do you?”

Hehe . . . there was the big question. Hey, to me it is at least! How am I suppose to sleep with the Sex God sleeping in the same room as me? Okay, I don’t know of his sexual life, or if he has one, but to me, he looks like a Sex God.

“Well . . . I was going to mention that, but then I chickened out because I thought you’d change your mind about helping out . . . ” I admitted.

Cole blinked, “why would I?”

Why!? God, is he that excepting to sleep in the same room as a hormonal gay teenager. I mean there’s a very big chance I could molest him in my sleep! Don’t blame me, blame my hormones and hot dreams that plague my mind. Hey, I’m sexually frustrated, because . . . what do you know, I’m still a virgin.

Imagine that; a virgin at age sixteen. What is this world coming to? In case you can’t tell, I’m being sarcastic.

“I guess I didn’t think you’d wan . . . ”

“Listen Kyle,” Cole interrupted me, stepping up to me. I startled, stepping back, my back against the wall.

Oh would you look at that, I’m sandwiched between a wall and a very hot guy. Must be my lucky day . . . uh . . . not!

“I do not care if you are gay. That doesn’t change who you are, does it? I will gladly sleep in your room; in your own bed if I have to.” Cole smiled, a gleam in his eyes, “I trust you.”

I could tell that my cheeks were burning. Can you blame me? That has to be the nicest thing I’ve ever heard. Hah . . . in my own bed . . . hmm . . .

“Well . . . my bed is more comfortable then the pull out cot,” I teased.

Cole just laughed, shaking his head. “Are you trying to use my words to get me in your bed?”

The way he said it made it sound way perverted and I wondered if he realized. It’s official, he’s flirting. Heh . . . I can’t believe it. Somebody is flirting with me. A guy somebody. Yay! Hip hip hooray . . . eh . . . I sure hope he is not a mind reader; I’d surely scare him away.

“Why not, you left open the perfect opportunity,” I finally answered, a little smirk on my lips.

Score one for me! I can’t believe I’m flirting. Hehe . . . this is fun . . .

Cole shook his head, “for a guy, you’re cute.”

Wahh . . . only for a guy . . . does that not mean . . . Okay, I’m going to go sulk now.

“Uh . . . thanks, I guess,” I said.

Cole gave me smile, which I swear looked like the grin of a predator, though still quite hot. Have I mentioned how hot he is?

“Of course.”

“Let’s go check on our siblings,” I said, to distract myself from staring too hard and long at his tan face.

Cole nodded. I lead him through the house, stopping at Chase’s bedroom door. I pushed it open slightly and peered in.

I couldn’t help the small ‘aww’ that left my lips. My brother was sitting on the floor, with a ‘what now’ look on his face. Allison was asleep, her head in Chase’s lap.

Chase looked up and me and put a finger to his lips. “She just fell asleep and I wasn’t sure what to do,” the little boy whispered.

Cole gave a soft smile, walking into the room. I watched as he knelt down next to Chase and Allison, gently picking the girl up out of Chase’s lap.

“She’s had a long day, and playing must have tuckered her out. She’s not used to playing like a normal child,” Cole explained in a hushed tone.

I frowned, not liking the sound of that at all. It was just sad.

Allison made a face, cuddling against Cole’s chest. If she weren’t mute, I’d bet she’d be making mumbling sounds.

“I’m going to take her home,” Cole said, coming up to me.

“I will see you later,” he said, brushing a strand of hair out of my eyes.

Blushing like an idiot, I nodded, “mm . . . uh . . . yeah, you too.”
