Chapter Three

Portia
Chapter 3

Eva liked Christian’s apartment. It was cramped and a little messy, but it was still remarkably comfortable. She settled herself down on the soft, but small couch.
“Wait here, I’ll go rummage.” Christian told her, moving off through the small, open space. She nodded and waited patiently, occasionally tucking stray curls behind her ears. She sighed to herself, hearing Christian swear and curse in the background as boxes and books and other nick knacks thudded to the floor.
“Is everything okay?” She called, “Would you like some help?”
“Everything’s Jake.” He called, mock cheerfully.
“Sure.” Eva settled back into the seat, her shoulders rigid. The cushions were velvety soft and she was brushing her fingers along the surface when Christian entered the room. Three text books were tucked underneath his arm.
“Oh, where are my manners.” Christian said, placing the books on the table as Eva stood. Eva blinked, looking at him blankly.
“Here, let me take your jacket.” Christian helped Eva shrug her jacker off, his fingers following her jacket down her spine.
“Thanks.” She murmured as he gripped her scarf and gently unwound it from around her neck. He draped it and her jacket over the back of the couch.
“Eva, sweetheart, is this cashmere.” Christian reached out to trail his hands across the breadth of her shoulders.
“Yes, it is.” She answered looking down at her mauve coloured cardigan.
“It’s deliciously soft.” He told her and Eva could feel her cheeks blazing as she blushed. Christian drew her right arm, bringing it close to her face as he gazed at her with his chocolate coloured eyes.
“Eva, sweetheart, do you wear perfume?” Eva nodded at Christian’s question and he pressed his nose against her wrist, taking a cautious sniff.
“Wild orchids?” He asked politely. Eva nodded at him, her eyes locked onto his.
“Yeah it is.” She murmured as he pressed his lips against the fragile bones in her wrist.
“It smells divine.” He muttered against her skin, his teeth gently nipping at the base of her wrist. Eva cleared her throat, pulling away a little.
“Christian,” She said softly, afraid to break the silence, “I don’t believe that this is appropriate.” She said, mustering her courage.
“I disagree.”

Christian almost had her. He could sense the air around them changing. He was nearly there. Eva was looking at him with frightened blue eyes and he knew all it would take was a few choice words and gentle flattery.
“Christian…” She said, her dark eyes watching him reproachfully.
“You know Eva, there is no rule that says a tutor and his pupil cannot embark on a relationship. We are, after all, both adults.”
“Won’t this complicate things?” She asked, chewing on her lower lip. She stopped and blushed when she saw him notice the nervous reaction.
“Actually I believe the opposite will occur. Why spend weeks building up sexual tension when it is already so apparent that we’re attracted to each other?” Christian asked, dropping his voice an octave, making it huskier and a little rougher.
“You find me attractive?” Eva’s voice wavered a little a Christian knew that this was a defining moment.
“Eva,” He purred her name, drawing out the vowels, “Why wouldn’t I be? You’re beautiful and intelligent. You are clearly well raised; I would be fool not to find you attractive.” Eva flushed and Christian knew that he was nearly there. The pretty pink blush started at her neck and it moved upwards towards her cheeks. Eva took a tentative step towards him.
“Are you sure this won’t complicate things?” She asked shyly.
“I don’t believe it will. Trust me, this happening now banishes the weeks of lacklustre teaching from me because I’m too busy wondering if you’ll look even half as pretty bent over the table screaming my name.” Christian kept a straight face, watching Eva carefully. She blushed deeper, her cheeks aflame. He tried not to smirk when he spotted the almost invisible pressing of her thighs together, something you would never notice unless it was what you were looking for.
“I had a dream about you.” He murmured, quickly formulating a sordid fantasy as she swayed into his personal space.
“You did?”

Eva felt like she was drugged. She was swaying towards Christian, catching the faintest scent of coffee the closer she got. Her eyes were fluttering shut as he detailed the dream he had, his voice lowering to a low rumble that made Eva clench her thighs together and rub a little hoping to ease the ache that had begun. Eva knew that she should stop him. Slap him silly and storm off after a long drawn out lecture about how inappropriate it was to speak to women in such a way. No one had ever been so openly vulgar to her, about her. His dream was dirty and detailed and Eva could never imagine herself capable of such things. She wished she were.

~*~*~*~

Eva was turning into putty. She was inching closer and as Christian finished vocalising his ‘dream’ he reached out to wrap arms around her waist.
“I woke up that morning hard as hell and wishing you were there.” He murmured his lips against her forehead as he brought her close. Eva was soft and warm and she slid neatly into the contours of his body, her curves pressed against him as he kept her close. He was a good kisser. Countless numbers of girls had told him so. And he had no doubt that Eva would agree. Christian started slow. Gently pressing his lips against hers, making her kiss him back before tugging her lower lip down with his teeth. He was slow and gentle, drawing her out, making her curl her tongue around his. She was melting, pushing herself against him. Eva was like all the other girls he had ever been with. She kissed with her eyes closed. Christian didn’t see the point and he used this to his advantage, gently guiding her to his bedroom, one hand on her lower back, the other slipping underneath the mauve coloured cashmere to gently stroke her stomach. The small piercing in her belly button was frightfully cool compared to the rest of her skin. He tugged on it lightly, testing her proclivity to pain. She moaned throatily, gently skimming her teeth against his tongue in return. He filed this away too, building the outline of a profile to remember her by. The door to his bedroom was shut with a thud and he gently pulled away.
“Are you sure you want to do this?” He asked, watching her carefully. Eva tugged at the clip in her hair, gently unclipping it before shaking her hair loose.
“I don’t want to damage this. Where do I put it?” The silver clip was covered in gems and Christian watched as caramel coloured curls tumbled down to frame her face.
“The bedside table.” Eva nodded and turned. Once she had placed the clip on the bedside table she tousled her hair, running her fingers through the undoubtedly smooth tresses. She paused for a moment before toeing her shoes off and climbing into the centre of his bed. She paused as she sat in the middle, her hair framing her face as she watched him, her legs tented, her bare feet resting on his soft, downy comforter. She fiddled with a loose thread in her knee, nervously toying with the thin distraction as she avoided looking him directly into his eyes. She took a deep breath and lowered herself, moving back a little so that she lay half propped up on the pile of pillows at the head of the bed. Christian watched her with detached interest, waiting for her to indication. She took a few deep breaths, her chest aching before mustering up her courage to act.
“What’s the matter Christian?” She asked her voice remarkably steady, “I thought this is what you wanted.” Eva forced her knees apart, spreading her legs. Christian paused, waiting for her confidence to waiver. It didn’t take long.
“I’d prefer it if you were naked and cuffed to the headboard, but yeah, that’ll do.”
