Trapped

Chapter Three: Trapped

There before his very eyes he did see many Creatures, surrounding what appeared to be a large two story, abandon warehouse. In front of the main doors, stood two people with their swords drawn in battle, fighting off the beasts.

One of them, he recognized as the slayer, the one which all the Vampires were searching for. Her name was Melina. He'd seen her before, once or twice. It was not common or proper for slayers to talk with civilians, slayers were there to protect. Not befriend anyone.

He also noticed that the one fighting at her side was yet another slayer, one called Angel. When he turned to gaze forward he saw that all black horrid eyes of the Creatures were now on him. Perhaps it was the blood that soaked his dark blue jeans, or covered his black short sleeved shirt. Or maybe the scent of death he carried, whatever the reason, all attention was focused on him.

Hundreds of eyes beating into his skull, staring at his neck, wrists and body hungrily. Bobby knew if he did not move quickly, he would soon become victim to these vicious monsters.

The warehouse was not far, and it was his only chance. Melina noticed him, and Angel saw that now would be a good chance for he and she to head inside. Bobby ran through the crowd of Creatures, ducking, rolling and sliding passed them. He was quick, and impressive. Angel urged Melina along, but she wanted to watch this man. She didn't recognize him as a slayer, or a fighter.

As he dashed passed them one by one, Angel knocked on the two main doors, calling out to the warriors inside to let them both in. It was then Melina saw Bobby fall. Surrounded by hideous Creatures, he faced his death. They leaned for the kill, that's when Melina charged forward, Angel following behind, calling for her to come back. But she did not listen.

Bobby fought his best, being clawed and scratched. His shirt ripped and torn, tattered until finally shredded off his body. He kicked and punched, giving them quite a fight as Melina hurried to save him.

When she reached the crowd that surrounded him, she began to fight them all. Angel at her side, trying to protect her. The first Creature of many charged at her, she raised her sword, bringing it down into the skull of him. Then spun around fast, the blade slid through yet another beast, she pulled the sword out, slicing the monster in half. The next two came at her, one from behind and the other in front. Angel pulled out his second sword, stretching them both outward, killing the one attacking him, and the one behind Melina. She cleaved the head off the Creature facing her, then knelt down, helping Bobby off the grass.

All three of them ran, headed to the warehouse, but just as they reached it, one of the Creatures took hold of Bobby's arm. Dislocating his shoulder, he groaned in pain as he fought back with his other arm. It was then both Angel and Melina, realized he was just a civilian.
"Leave him, he is but a mere man, not worth dying for!" Angel shouted above the shreik of the Creatures.
He pounded on the doors of the warehouse, beckoning the people inside to open it. Melina grabbed hold of Bobby, not letting him go. But if he didn't do something this thing would tear his arm off.
"Leave him!" Shouted Angel again as the main doors swung open.

Bobby reached forward taking the sword from Melina as Angel yelled, "He's not coming in here!"
Bobby raised the sword slicing the Creatures arm off, and breaking free. He took hold of Melina, placing the sword to her throat. Everything stopped. The Creatures knew that if she were murdered, the prophecy would never be fulfilled. They backed away, as everyone in the doorway and Angel watched this man they'd never seen before. Waiting to see what he'd do.

"You let me inside with you, now!" Bobby yelled.
Angel stepped aside, as he led her in, walking close behind her. As soon as he set foot inside and the doors were closed, he tossed Melina aside. Angel pulled out his sword, pointing it at Bobby's throat!
Angel asked, "Who are you, and do you have the slightest idea of what you could have done!?"

Everyone stared at him, then a man pushed through the crowd saying, "His name is Bobby."
Angel replied, "You know this man Kevin?"
Kevin stepped closer to Bobby, an angry look in his brown eyes as he answered, "He was arrested not long ago for steeling from the Queen. He took diamonds, rubies and other jewels. He was to be put to death, but all hell broke loose and somehow, he escaped."

Bobby's throat, pierced with the tip of Angels sword began to bleed slightly as Bobby panted.
"Then he can be destroyed." Angel said.
He took the sword ready to plunge it through Bobby and kill him when Bobby shouted, "Wait! The castle, I can take you to the castle."
Melina, still clutching her throat where the sword had been said, "You, know where the castle is?"
Bobby responded, "No...not for sure. But I have a pretty good idea."

Another woman came forward, "We cannot trust him. How do we know he's telling the truth, he tried to kill Melina?"
Bobby quickly spoke saying, "I needed a way in, I am speaking the truth."
Melina said to Eliza, "What if he's right, what if he does know."
"I agree with Eliza, he can't and wont be trusted." Angel snapped quickly.
Melina moved closer, standing behind Bobby, "Yes but what if he does, we can't risk losing him not now. Especially not if he can lead us there. We have no leads, it could take us days to find it."
Kevin added, "We can't risk our lives, especially not risk you Melina, being captured. We need more then just a guess, and what of him after we find the castle, assuming he's not lying. There are too many things based on chance. I say we murder him now."
Angel replied, "I agree. It could even be a trap. Then he'd probably want something."
Bobby looked at Angel, with anger filling his deep eyes, "I watched, my Mother, and Father be murdered two nights ago, by those Creatures. Then, I saw my Brother beg for his life, and die as well. Tonight, I found my Sister dead, because I'd come too late. I couldn't save anyone, I couldn't protect them. No I'm not lying, but if you wish it so kill me. Death seems like such any easy way out. The only thing I have left, is a woman I saw get dragged away, so yes, I want something. I want to see that she's safe, to know there is someone I can save, to do something about it. But most of all, I wanna see those sons of bitches burn in hell for what they've taken from me. I don't care if you kill me afterwards, I just want to know, this girl, is safe. I don't care what happens to me."

A silence fell over the room, deader then the Creatures outside. Everyone just stared at Bobby, and they believed him.
"Let him go." Said Melina, in a soft voice.
Angel removed his sword from Bobby's tthroat, "I'm keeping a close eye on you."
Kevin walked up to Bobby, staring at him hard, "You take us to that castle, and you, fight with us. But when we reach the next town, you'll pay for your crimes, through execution. Understand?"
Bobby faced him and without so much of a waver in his voice he answered, "I got it."

Melina couldn't believe it, she was stunned. Never before had she seen someone do anything like that, offering what Bobby was. She was no doubt impressed, and with a mere man.

Besides, Melina, Angel, Kevin and Eliza, there were seven more people not including Bobby. Seven more warriors in the room. The only warriors who were able to escape the Village before it was over taken by Vampires and Creatures.

Amy, she was a slayer. With great strength and fighting skills unmatched by many. It was no shock nor surprise that she'd come this far, and no doubt she'd go even farther. Dressed in a leather dark blue, sleeveless top, laced in the back, and black leather pants with slits through out the sides of them, she's able to comfortably fight. She's very pale with light blue eyes, and her dark black hair brings that quality out in her complexion.

Then there's Misty. Very young, very beautiful and very deadly. She too has a pale complexion, and is often used to pose as a Vampire. With long light brown hair, and light blue piercing eyes, it's difficult for any Vampire within a distance not to think she's one of them. She's one of the youngest female fighters, and right now one of the only ones alive. Her ability to distract and fake being a Vampire has won her many challenges.

Among all the women in the warehouse, Britney was least likely to survive. So of course everyone was shocked and surprised by her precise fighting skills and timing. Many did not expect her to live, but she's so far proven herself time and time again as a team player. However there is one great flaw, as there is in every great fighter, a weakness which holds her back. Her emotions take over most of the time. Clouding her judgement on many occasions. Because she looks so innocent, no one thought she'd be able to rise above her flaw. She's got long blond hair, with brown through it, and large wide-set brown eyes. Lovely tan skin and a perfect figure. It's hard to believe she's such a strong asset to their team at the moment.

Rose is almost the complete opposite of Britney. She's tough, and focused on her fighting. Trained very well at an early age too. She has a high level of skills, and is best with a sword. Golden blond hair tumbles over her shoulders, onto the thin red leather straps that hold her sleeveless top together. She has pale, white skin and dark fierce brown eyes, and a not slim, yet not large frame. Wearing a short black leather skirt, to set off the red top, which has slits across the breast of the shirt. She's mainly about fighting, nothing else, it's her goal to stop the Vampires, by any means necessary.

The only one who's really not quite a fighter yet is Lindsay. She only began training a few months ago, and is not too skilled, but all help is needed and she's managed to survive and be of small help to others through her talents with mixing and creating medicines. She's short, pretty with long red hair and hazel eyes. Wearing a short dark blue skirt, with a slit on the left side, and a matching lighter blue top. They were the clothes she was wearing when the village was over run, and had no time to change out of them, or her high heels. A full figure, a little thicker then most girls, making her a little slower when it comes to running. But she's still helpful.

James is another male slayer, an excellent one at that. It's not that he's better skilled in fighting, but when in dangerous situations, keeps a cool head and has come up with many life saving plans. Though he is not one to go all the way for helping someone, he makes good, firm quick decisions, and is really better at combat rather then sword fighting because of all the exercise. He's slim, with a muscular figure, toned up, with bleach blond hair and dangerous blue eyes. Wearing a black shirt, and dark black jeans, he's got a memorable face, one that is often the last thing a Vampire, or Creature see's. And is one to easily win any battle.

Marie, she's got classic good looks. They tend to fool many people, but she is very deadly. With both combat and concentration on problems ahead. Most people are mesmerized with her flowing brown hair, and stinging brown eyes. Perfect figure, and tan skin. But she's a force to be reckoned with, undefeatable so far, proven to be a great warrior.

The walls look worn yet stand strong, the building still firmly planted in the ground. Two large heavy wooden doors in the front lock out the Creatures gathering around it. They are the only doors, much like the single window up high on the second story without glass to shield it. Left open letting in the dark nights cool breeze and the glowing light of a full moon, hanging high up in the sky.

Inside the floors are caked with dirt, grime and dust. The place smells musty and the air is unclean. The main doors are locked tightly with a large long piece of wood that has been placed tightly in front of it. To the left of these doors are several freezers, lined up in a row, empty yet still cold inside.

The ceilings are tall, and the lights work but are dim and faded to a yellowish brown color. To the right is an over hang, were junk has been stored underneath it tucked away in the pitch black far corners of that area. Up against the top level is a ladder leading up to the second story.

There are bails of hay lying about, pitch forks, saws and tools. But in the center of it all is the one great big window, in which the creatures have failed to notice because of all the attention they've put on the main doors in front.

Amy headed over to Kevin, who was sitting on top one of the many freezers. He stared at the flesh wound one of those Creatures had given him, blood soaking through was unnoticeable because of his black short sleeved shirt. He clutched his shoulder tightly trying to stop the blood flow. Lindsay had already looked at the wound, since it was not fatal, she assured him it would be fine.

"Kevin." Said Amy, him quickly looking up at her.
He hopped off the freezer, placing the sword back in his sheath, "What is it Amy?"
"Sir, the monsters have surrounded us, we're trapped. What shall we do?" She asked.

Bobby sat on the ground, his face in obvious agony over all the scratches and wounds. He was trying to be strong, but Melina could see through it, passed it, and beyond it lied pain.

She walked over to him, handing him a folded pair of clothes and some shoes.
"Here, put these on." She said.
Bobby looked up into her eyes, taking the clothes from her, "Thank you."
Melina called out for Lindsay, who was digging around in her medical bag, looking to see how much medicine and pain relievers she had left. Lindsay looked up, Melina shouted back, "Come here, this man is injured. He needs your care."

Kevin looked over, stopping his conversation with Amy. He gave James a strange look, before nodding him to go over to Melina and talk some sense into her. James got the message and hurried along. He didn't like this man, Bobby, he didn't trust him. Neither did anyone else, they all stood still.

"He tried to kill you, and now you want to waste our few medical supplies on him? That's unacceptable." James told her.
Melina ignored him, calling again for Lindsay.
James grabbed Melina's arm tightly, "We will not help him."
She jerked her arm free, turning her angry gaze his way, everyone watching, "You forget your place James. Touch me again, and I will kill you."
After a long pause she called once more for Lindsay, and she came willingly to Bobby. Kneeling down, patching him up, and giving him proper care.

Kevin, infuriated headed towards Melina, Amy following in panic trying to tell Kevin that more Creatures were gathering outside. But he did not listen.

Bobby went behind a hay bail to change when Lindsay finished with him. He slipped of his blue jeans, replacing them with black pants. Then, a white button down shirt. He rolled up the sleeves as he put on his black shoes.

"You've wasted our supplies on a man who's going to be executed! How could you be so insolent!?"
As Kevin screamed, Melina tried to block him out. Amy began to worry, she could hear the Creatures clawing at the walls. Trying to get in, to find a way. Then suddenly all the others began to notice as well.

They huddled together in a group, their hands ready to draw swords. Amy called out to Kevin. But he wouldn't stop yelling, barking out orders to Melina.
"You're the slayer, don't you have any sense at all!? The Vampires need you, for their ritual, and they'll stop at nothing to get you. Wounding our fighters, and now they'll have no way of getting well. Thanks to you!" Kevin shouted, "You should have listened to me, it was your idea to run up here, now look at us we're trapped like animals!"

Through all this, the group was getting more and more frightened. The Creatures began to shriek and scrape their large nails along the walls faster and rougher then before. Never had there sounded like there were so many before. It was then Bobby stepped out from behind the hay.

"Who made you their leader?" He said, talking directly at Kevin.
Slowly turning to face Bobby, no one said a word. Bobby came closer, with each foot step never breaking eye contact.
Kevin replied, "You don't even have a right to speak. Just because you're taking us..."
Bobby interrupted, "Bang up job you're doin'. As we sit here, more and more Creatures gather outside. By the time you're finished making speeches, it'll be too late."
Lindsay stood out adding, "He's right. There are already countless amounts outside. Their numbers are only increasing."

Kevin looked over the crowd, all of them afraid. He stared in anger at some of the best fighters, cowering together.
"Look at all of you, and now Lindsay is siding with him, I say we kill him now." Kevin started moving closer to Bobby, who backed away.

Then all of the sudden, the noise outside grew much louder, like an ear shattering pounding. It even seemed to make the walls shake. The fighters, drew their swords, ready for the worst.
"What shall we do?" asked Eliza.
No one answered, they all just stood there, in total terror.

Misty finally spoke, "If we could only escape some way..." She thought for a moment before speaking again, "The back window, there aren't hardly but a few there. If someone could distract them, we could get away?" No one raised and eye brow, nor turned their heads. Still in shock from the horrible sounds, of lifeless Creatures yearning to get in, smelling them.

Misty cried out, "Does no one hear me, we have got to get away!?"
Marie nodded in agreement, "You're right, but how? Who could distract them?"
Marie was almost cut of in mid sentence when Kevin quickly replied, "If anyone is to risk their life, it shall be him!" He pointed to Bobby.
Lindsay spoke up, "But he knows the way to the castle?"
"He thinks, he does." Kevin corrected her abruptly.
Eliza added, "We can't risk it."
"So what then?" James started in, "We risk the life of our slayer, we need her. We can't lose important people. We could find that place, it may take longer, but we could."
Lindsay answered, "But the more time we waste the more innocent people will die!"

It was then Bobby spoke with a loud voice, over bearing all the other shouting fighters, trembling almost, with fear, "I'll do it. He's right, we can't risk it. I have nothing to offer, and I'm willing to die for your escape."
Again, silence, no one could believe this, James replied, "See, he doesn't care, now can we come up with some sort of plan?"
Bobby chimed in, "What plan, I distract them and you get away, if I can, I catch up. Or is that too much for you to remember?"

Louder and louder, the pounding grew, until none of them could think silently. Their hearts racing, and pulsating all through out them, causing their knees to buckle and their arms to twitch.
"He'll die on his own, there's no way a man such as he could get away, he'd be food for those things!" Said Eliza.
Kevin replied, looking coldly into Bobby's eyes, "Then so be it."
"I'll fight with him!" Shouted Rose, "Me and him can keep them off. He can distract them, and I'll come in with an attack from behind." She continued, "I'll head out the back with you, come around and snag him once you're all out of sight."
"This is madness!" James yelled out angrily.
Roses softened her gaze towards Kevin, "You know how well I can fight, we can pull this off."

Trapped, with no where else to go, it was settled. They were going to escape, by any means necessary. And Bobby, was their bait. All they needed now, was to get in their positions. Ready to fight, or ready to die. They had no other choice.
