Last Day

DISCLAIMER: I would like to let everyone know THIS IS ALL FAKE!!! None of this is supposed to be taken as a true reflection upon any religion. IT’S NOT. It’s just something that I dreamed up that kind of stuck so I wrote about it okay. So please, NO ONE take offence to this story, I’m not saying this is anything true in any religion; it’s just a story. If you think you may take offence to statements against God, then please don’t read any further b/c I don’t want to make waves and I don’t want to make anyone mad. Thank you.

Now…for those of you who won’t take offence b/c you really don’t care. Thank you for choosing to read my writing. This is a fictitious story about a girl who was killed in her mother’s womb and therefore traded from heaven to hell b/c of a bet made at creation between God and Lucifer. ^^ Sounds like fun eh? There’s going to be sex, just not right off and all at once. It’ll be a slow build up so bare with me here. Anyway though, I look forward to reviews and lots of compliments and constructive criticism. ^^

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT:
I'd like to send out a special thanks to ree, loopypants, TOBY, and Lily, thank you so much guys for reviewing I always love hearing from you all! *smooch* Also, I hope you enjoy chapter 3, i've been kranking this out rather quickly b/c most of this so far has been introductory, but the next few might actually have DAYS between them lol. So be on the lookout for a slight slow down of maybe 2 updates a week. I'll let you know if anything else changes. So buckle up and enjoy chapter 3!

It was noon by the time Suri had finished helping Samantha cook Master Gadrien’s mean. The young Fallen was a master cook and showed her everything she knew about the art. Suri couldn’t absorb it all, but she did retain the basics, just enough to please her new Master. She just hoped he didn’t need a cook. She took pride in setting the table as Mel had shown her that morning and served Gadrien properly before seating herself. They ate silently for a time before Gadrien allowed her to speak.

“Something on your mind Suri?”

She stirred the soup before her but didn’t taste it.

“Why did you address Master Drakus as Master?”

He sighed heavily; she was quick to catch his mistake.

“He is my superior Suri.”

She furrowed her brow and stopped pretending to be interested in her food.

“I thought all Masters were equal.”

“Not all Suri.”

His tone darkened but he remained soft towards her.

“I don’t understand Master.”

He sighed again and took a long drink from his wine before continuing.

“Some Masters are above other Masters Suri, Master Drakus is above me just as Lucifer is above him.”

“He didn’t have wings like you though Master, shouldn’t you be better for it?”

He laughed at her words kindly and continued his meal, feeling a bit more relaxed.

“He doesn’t have wings because he was a sinner, what he did in life he was good at, ad he’s better at it in death.”

Suri didn’t quite understand but she didn’t push further. She wasn’t sure that she would want to know what it was he did.

“Why do you have wings then Master?”

“Because I used to be an angel, but I follied, and now I’m here.”

Suri’s eyes widened at him as realization took her.

“You were an angel Master? You…you’re like me?”

A hurt expression took him but he quickly hid it.

“Not exactly, I was a full angel, you are a Fallen. You have no wings to catch you and you never will. Mine are useless here, in this place for sinners. And those who have greatly sinned they earn wings. But their wings are greatly unlike mine. Beware of those types Suri, keep away from them if you can, and never anger them.”

They finished their meal in silence then; Suri would never forget his words at the table that day. So cold and harsh towards her ignorance, but full of warning that would ring clear to her forever.

After their meal was finished Suri cleaned up after them as Gadrien left to his duties. She wasn’t sure what it was he did all day, but whatever it was, it preoccupied him for most of the day. It didn’t bother her though; she had found a new friend. Vels took her by the hand and showed her a new game to play to pass the time. He called it hide-and-go-seek. Vels was very good at hiding; he usually could climb the walls with his clawed hands, or take refuge in the shadows of the rafters near the ceiling. But Suri was equally good at seeking. They were in the middle of a very complicated round when Suri heard the loudest yell she had ever heard in her short life.

“Vels! Vels you disgusting demon! Where have you taken Suri!”

Suri ran to the voice, sure to find Gadrien with Mel just as furious as she was by her disappearance, and Vels was quick to follow her. He was swifter than her though, and quickly outpaced her, reaching only an angry Mel before she did. They were both out of breath and quite a sight to behold. Mel only shook her head and swatted Vels away.

“Go find a new playmate, this one needs to be cleaned up and dressed for tomorrow before it gets any later.”

Mel began to take her leave but Suri was hesitant, she had the sudden feeling she would not be seeing Vels again after that day, and for one time only, she didn’t follow a superior.

“I’ll be to the bath room in just a moment ma’am I promise, I have to get something first.”

She darted away before Mel could say no and back to her cell, with Vels close on her heals. Once in her room she located the stuffed bunny Vels had given her and gave him a final hug before handing him back out to the creature.

“Thank you for letting me keep him for a while, you can have him back now if you want.”

Vels stared at the toy for a moment and shook his head, pushing him back towards Suri’s embrace.

“Keep.”

“But he’s your toy.”

“Suri keep.”

She smiled at him kindly, it was the first time he had spoken that wasn’t in rhyme, but it was very broken and harsh sounding in his throat. Tears welled up in her eyes for her strange friend and she couldn’t help but hug him for his kindness. He buried his face against her shoulder, and she could have sworn he was crying too.

“Suri go now…run now.”

She broke away from him and ran to Mel, whipping the tears from her eyes hastily as she went. The rabbit was held tightly against her chest by her arm, and she was determined to keep him with her always.

When she reached the bathroom Mel had already prepared the bath and laid out the towels for after, but Mel was nowhere to be found. She decided to strip and begin the process they had done that morning. She had worked the soap down to her scalp for the second time when Mel walked in.

“Good you started already, I was hoping you would.”

She closed the door behind her and Suri knew something was wrong, Mel wasn’t herself, and she had a concerned look on her face.

“Suri I need to ask you some things, and you need to answer truthfully.”

She began lathering her skin herself and nodded her approval of the interrogation to Mel.

“Why are you so kind to someone like Vels?”

Suri thought a moment, trying to find the right words.

“Because he isn’t what he is on the outside, inside he’s good and kind and caring. It’s just his outside that’s scary.”

Mel laughed a little at her words and sat down in a chair nearby, watching her bathe and making sure she did everything correctly.

“Vels is nothing to play with Suri, he is a filthy creature that took so many lives in his time, that in death he is an incoherent creature of deformity and stupidity. He may be a kind creature, but you mustn’t let your guard down with him. He can snap Suri, like a twig, one moment he’s playing with you, and the next, we’re searching the halls for your body parts.”

Suri stared at Mel in open horror and astonishment. Vels? A murderer?

“He’s in this place as a prisoner, it’s the only place where he can stay calm and alone and away from others that he might harm. Here his mind won’t snap so often, but you can’t be alone with him. I’d hate to take the chance of losing a Fallen like you, Master Drakus was very pleased with you.”

Suri began to rinse herself as the question that had been bothering her all day finally came to surface.

“What was Master Drakus talking about when he mentioned an auction?”

Mel’s eyes snapped to meet hers but she quickly avoided them.

“Gadrien should have told you, but I guess he couldn’t find it in him. Master Drakus runs a Fallen trade ring, he finds suitable young Fallen like yourself good Masters to keep them. He holds auctions when he gathers enough Fallen, and all the high standing Masters of Hell come together to study the new flock and bid upon them.”

Suri wrinkled her nose and stared off into space.

“He called me a center piece.”

Mel sighed and began to brush out her hair.

“He chooses five of the finest Fallen he finds as a center bid. Each one is separate, but think of them as the stars of the show. Their bids start out the highest, and end the highest as well. Only the finest of Masters have the ability to own one.”

Mel smiled at her upturned face with pride.

“You will be going to one of the greater Masters of our realm, you will be one of the highest Fallen, with the greatest demand. All will want you and long for your warm company in their beds.”

Suri thought for a long time on Mel’s words as she redressed her and braided her hair. It was a loose cotton gown she wore now, as she was going to bed, but Mel instructed her first on how to dress in the morning when she woke. She would be wearing the finest that Gadrien’s pocket could offer. A thin gold band about her neck like a collar would hold delicate gold chains that led down to her top, a thin, gold embroidered cloth that barely covered her breasts and stopped well above her naval. A long golden skirt was provided, split up her legs all the way to the thin string that held up the skirt itself. She was given a multitude of thin golden bands to place on her wrists and ankles that jangled lightly when she walked. The outfit in it’s entirety barely covered her at all, and made her feel greatly exposed, but greatly pleased Mel when completed.

“It’s perfect Suri, all of it, every Master in Hell will have his eyes on only one Fallen tomorrow.”

Mel carefully helped her remove the clothing and slip back into her nightgown to lead her to her room. She was sad that it was her last night sleeping in the chamber, but they didn’t lock the door against her this night. Instead, Gadrien let her know it was open, and told her to feel free to go to the bathroom to dress in the morning when she woke. He seemed very somber when he left her that night, and she felt the same way.

Although she had spent such a short time in that place with Mel, Gadrien, Samantha and Vels she felt it was all a part of her. It was all she had known since she was severed, and she was afraid of what she would be met with on the morrow. She clutched her rabbit close to her as she curled into her bed to sleep, the darkness pressing in around her. But she wasn’t afraid, she knew Vels was around the halls, and Gadrien was in his chambers. And on the morrow, all of Hell would be looking at her.
