Part 3
Part 3
Anna entered her kitchen, put away the few things she had bought and set water on the stove for her coffee. In another few minutes Anna had her coffee. She was about to sit down and finish a book when she heard the doorbell of her store ring. Sighing, she walked down the stairs into the store, placed her cup of coffee on the counter and waited for whomever had entered.
A few minutes passed but Anna saw no one. Getting a little impatient Anna decided to find the intruder herself. Walking down the isle, she looked in-between each bookshelf but again there was no one there. Just as she was about to walk back to the counter, she caught a glimpse of vibrant red.
“Someone there?”
No answer.
Anna decided that if someone felt like playing games, they could find somebody else to play with because she really wasn’t in the mood. As she walked back to her coffee, arms reached out grabbed her and forced her back against them. Anna gasped in surprise. When her attacker did nothing but hold her against them, Anna began to unravel the arms that were holding her. She couldn’t help but notice the elegance….femininity of the arms; like a dancers.
Anna turned around and was amazed at what she saw. She could never forget that shining red hair, those beautiful blue eyes nor that mischievous smile.
“Christine?” Anna could do nothing but gape in disbelief. “I thought….agh…I thought.”
“You thought what, darling?” Christine’s smile was enormous as she looked at Anna.
“I thought you….you left.” Anna whispered.
Flashback****
“I can’t stay here any longer. I can’t take this place…..Everything is so fake. Veiled to cover the truth.”
“You’re leaving me.” Not a question, but simple fact.
“You know I love you and I always will, but I’m being smothered……..I…I..I want to find myself, find something that makes me happy…someone that makes me happy. You understand?”...So much pleading.
“……I understand.” Who would have thought that smiling would hurt so much?
Tears are falling down her cheeks now, “Thank you Anna, thank you I always knew you would understand.”
She’s still smiling. She doesn’t have the energy to cry. To rave. To pull her hair, demand an explanation for this abandonment. She is simply to tired. Too tired to go one her knees and beg. Because Anna knew that the image of a story, the image that always contented her would never be enough for Christine.
End Flashback****
“You’re not happy to see me?” Christine asks the question with such vulnerability, vulnerability that only Anna can bring out.
Anna smiles slowly and shakes her head, “Don’t be stupid.”
She simply holds out her hands, Christine is in her arms and she feels like there is nothing to worry about. She is fine now, truly fine.
“Will, you not introduce me to your friend, Christine?” A deep voice asks from behind Anna. She turns around and sees a dark haired man.
Flashback****
She withered and moaned as he thrust his tongue into her mouth making her taste herself on him.
End Flashback***
She had dreamt of that man. He was doing that to her. No, no it was just a dream, nothing else. Anna felt a tingle in her abdomen.
“Oh, right.” Christine said quickly wiping the tears that had escaped from her eyes. “This is Gabriel…we’re engaged.”
“Ah, that’s great!” Anna said, a bit overwhelmed. She extended her hand for a shake, “It’s nice meeting you.” She squeaked out. Her heart thumps so loudly, she is sure he can hear it. She is sure that Christine can hear it. The shame overcomes her like a tidal wave.
“Trust me, the pleasure is all mine.” He smirked as he lowered his head to kiss her hand. He spares her a glance. That smirk!
Anna snatched her hand from out of his grasp.
Flashback****
The man, for Anna was quite sure that he was a men, smirked at her and she saw two pointy fangs glistening on his mouth.
End Flashback***
Even the two little fangs were there…… No this can’t be true, it was just a dream.
“Are you alright Anna?” Christine asked worriedly.
“I’m fine, just fine. Ummm…would you like some coffee or something?” Anna asked nervously wanting to distract them. She can feel his gaze on her. She has an overwhelming urge to scratch his eyes out, to carve that knowing gaze out of his eyes.
“Actually we can’t stay very long, we still have to finish our unpacking. We’re living in The Romano.” Christine proclaimed proudly; Christine had always wanted to live there, since the moment she first saw it. And now she had it. She had it with a man that smiled at Anna like that.
'How many other women has he smile like that at?' Anna clenched her fists.
“The Romano? Alright. Well….I don’t want to keep you.” Anna said, “But Christine, don’t forget to visit.” It came out as a plea. She was begging her.
“How could I ever forget to visit my best-friend." Christine laughed. But Anna knew that Christine understood, not like before. Now she knew Anna's desperation for her.
At that moment, Anna almost forgot all about Gabriel, almost. He was standing only a few feet away from them, smirking at Anna.
‘Well, maybe he’s only here today. I’m sure he won’t be visiting again. What would he want to talk to me about? Well okay, so I might be the best friend of his future wife. But that doesn’t require him to be my friend. Right?’ She hoped so. But something about those horrible emerald eyes of his, something about them made it clear that she would be seeing him again.
“I’ll make sure to visit as well.”
‘There went that idea.’ She almost laughed. But didn't, because Anna thought if she started now, she would never stop.
“Sounds great, whatever you guys want.” Anna was only looking at Christine now. She was afraid she might not be able to look away from his dark eyes.
‘At least you know the name of the guy you so shamelessly let finger you. Oh! And not to mention HE’S YOUR BEST FRIENDS FUTURE HUSBAND! What is wrong with you?! And don’t tell me that the tingle has increased?!….Sigh….You know you’re a bit of a whore.’ Anna could not believe that she was having this ridicules conversation in her own head. When Christine was here. Christine was back, and that's all that should matter. Anna inhaled. She could smell Christine. Some sort of expensive, sophisticated perfume that Christine always wanted but never had, until now. Until HE gave it to her. The anger choked her. She was not enough for Christine.
She raised her eyes to look at him. 'But he was.' Anna hated him at that moment.
“We better be going.” Christine announced. “And we’ll be back. So be ready.” She gave Anna a mischievous smile.
“Can’t wait.” Anna replied dryly. ‘Just don’t bring him with you. And what is with the ‘we’, are you two never individuals?’ There was a time that Christine and her were a we. But that was gone now.
Christine gave Anna a final hug. Anna held on a little too tight, and a little too long. She squeezed her eyes shot and breathed deeply. She felt Christine return her hug with as much intensity. Anna tried to say what she never could through that hug. She hoped Christine understood.
When too little time seemed to have passed, Christine let go slowly, turned and led Gabriel out of the door. The bell gave a resounding ring and Anna was left alone. Christine never looked back, but Gabriel did.
‘Four years since the last time I’ve seen her. She couldn’t come back for me, but could for him?’
For him. But never for them. Four years she had dreamt of this. Four years she had longed and hope for Christine. And now, now she was left with nothing but shame, guilt and anger.
And with that anger she realized her stomach still churned with arousal. Locking the door and turning off the lights in the store, Anna dashed up the stairs. She entered her bathroom and stood in front of the mirror. Her inner walls clenched in need.
‘Anna, you will not touch there. You will not! You have not since she had left and you will not now. He is not there. He is wrong. This is wrong.' She groaned as she remembered the dream. It was getting painful just standing upright. 'Don't Anna. Don't.' The plea was weak and her cheeks were wet. She stripped off her jeans and quickly pulled her underwear down. Sitting on the bathroom floor, her back against the wall, Anna roughly thrust her fingers into herself. With a few hard stroked and a few flicks of her clit she was climaxing.
****
Laying on the bathroom floor, with her underwear down to her ankles, breathing hard and hating every single minute, she stared at the yellow ceiling. 'I'm so sorry Christine.' But she knew she wasn't just apologizing to Christine. She was apologizing to herself, to the little girl that hoped for more than this shame.
She struggled to stand up, when she did she took off the rest of her clothing and entered the shower. She turned it on as hot as it could be and simply stood under the spray. An hour later she felt clean enough, put on some swats and a t-shirt and went to sleep.
Note from Author
I don't like this chapter. It doesn't have any depth to it like my previous chapter did. I didn't quite know how to portray the strong emotions that Anna feels when seeing Christine again, and I really want my readers to understand the close bond of Christine and Anna. I hope you enjoyed it.
