Head down he walked through the halls thinking about how they needed a traffic light for this damn school he got bumped and pushed through the crowd and waited outside the doors for Julien. People glared at him on their way inside.

He sighed and hugged himself around the middle keeping his head down hoping Julien would show up soon. He watched feet pass by until he saw a recognizable pair of shoes.

"Hey kid," Julien said.

"Ready to go sit down?" Ron raised an eyebrow.

"Yeah in the back?" Julien smirked.

"Always," Ron said.

They climbed into the back row of seats. Next two the only other gay couple they knew at the school Brain and Matt. Brain was a year higher then Ron he was 10th and Matt was the same as Julien a senior.

"Hey cradle robber," Matt sneered.

"Shut it!" Julien hissed through is teeth trying not to laugh.

“He didn’t rob anything I crawled towards him from the cradle,” Ron smirked.

“Yeah well, he bribed you with Candy,” Matt said.

“Wha?” Ron looked questioningly at Julien.

“I did not you know very well we haven’t really…” Julien cheeks flushed pink.

“What?” Brain said eyes wide.

“We’re waiting,” Ron said.

Julien turned to face Ron calmly, his eyes scanning Ron’s face for some type of understanding saying he wanted to go but without words, He grabbed the back of Ron’s neck and leaned into his should whispering in his ear, “Let’s go sit somewhere else,” Julien said the words tickling Ron.

“No, it’s fine,” Ron said pushing Julien’s elbow down gently with his hand telling him to release his neck so that their heads weren’t so close together.

Julien sighed heavily, he wasn’t in the mood to deal with Matt’s embarrassing subjects today. He was tired and his head hurt. He really wanted to see this assembly and he wanted to make sure Ron passed and the only way Ron would stay in school was if he stayed the whole day as well.

Ron climbed into the row of seats next to Matt who was looking at Brain waiting for the lights to go down.

“Does anyone know that this is about?” Ron moaned stifling a yawn.

“Discrimination,” Julien said plainly.

“Oh great, not only to I get to be bored I get to listen to someone drone on about what they think the problem is,” Ron said.

“No, I’m going to speak after a bit, they have a student segment where you talk about how you feel you get treated and why it’s unfair,” Julien said.
“If anyone…” Julien cut him off.

“Yeah, you get treated the worse I know that, But, I love you, I wanted you to be here I hoped, maybe you would speak too?” Julien said giving Ron puppy dog eyes.

“Oh forget it,” Ron said looking at Julien, “Julien it’s not going to work. I’m not going to give in, oh Julien for Christ sake! Would you stop looking at me like that?”

“Please? You could atleast open up about things, I will too if you do,” Julien said.

Ron poised his lips in a thoughtful pout, “ It sounds really tempting now but, if my dad finds out I’m dead and buried you know how he is,” Ron said.

“Come on! Please, please please? All the kisses you could want after, some groping even,” Julien said.

“Maybe, let’s wait and see what’s up,” Ron said.

The lady droned on for a good half hour before anyone was allowed to speak. They had this one girl Stephanie who had to be in a wheel chair talk about how people made fun of her because she couldn’t walk and other people and then she called a name from the audience that made Ron blink twice.

“Ron Micheals?” She said as more of a question the second time she said it waiting for him to clamber out of his seat and towards the stage.

“Please?” Julien whispered squeezing Ron’s hand as something made him stand up from his chair.

He made his way forward, All eyes seemed to be on him. His curtain of black hair didn’t seem to do a thing to hide the crimson shade on his face.

He stumbled onto the stage looking at the women intently as she held the second mic out to him.

“And what would you like to talk about Ron?” She asked looking at the rest of the student body.

“Hmm…I’d like to…uhh…. Talk about my teasing?” He said sounding more like a question then a statement.

“FAG!!” Someone screamed from the crowd and some of the crowd responded in laughter.

Ron’s face glowed a brighter red.

“So does a lot of the teasing you suffer have to do with your sexual orientation?” The women asked.

“Yeah. I’m gay, I’m also not what you would call normal I guess I don’t know. It sucks though,” Ron murmured.

“ What would you like to see happen about that?” The women asked.

“Not so much teasing. I mean there are plenty of gay kids at this school but no one throws paper at them I don’t think,” Ron said.

“Okay, thank you for talking Ron,” The women said taking the Mic back from him.

“Next, Julien Garrius,” She said and the crowd broke out into applause in some places.

Julien made his way to the front smiling and waving as he did so. He shook some hands on the way to the stage.
“So Julien I see your quiet the charmer?” The women smiled a little.

“I’m popular yes, but I’m more making an announcement then talking about people teasing me, ever since I got rid of those braces people call me studly,” The crowd laughed at his joke.

“And what would your announcement be?” The women asked.

“Most of you don’t know this but I’m gay, and no, don’t ask for my number I’m taken,” he said, “ Just remember I’m the same guy I’ve always been and for those of you in my gym class no, this does not mean I’m checking you out in the showers because like I said I’m taken and none of you are that good looking to me personally, I mean there are some ladies out there who say otherwise I’m sure but, me? Nah.” He said simply.

“Okay, thank you for being so open,” The women said…. After that Ron zoned out.

The women kept talking and by the time Julien made it back the their seats the atrium was beginning to empty.

Ron was staring straight ahead unbelieving of himself. Of the fact that even though everyone already knew he had actually told them he was gay.

Julien looked questioningly at him a bit worried, “Ron are you okay?”

Ron nodded silently wondering what was going to happen if his dad got wind right away. His dad was a very devote Mormon and didn’t like anything remotely homosexual and so needless to say he hated a lot of things about his son. If he found out what Ron had just told everyone he would be as good as dead.

Julien seemed to read his mind, “ Don’t worry about him okay? It will be fine, if he kicks you out you can come stay with me,” Julien smiled warmly at his boyfriend.

Ron nodded his head still not grasping what was going on.

“Come on,” Julien said grabbing Ron and pulling him up by the elbow gently, “ You’ll be fine.”

Some girl walked up behind them and tapped Julien on the shoulder, He turned around but still held firmly to Ron’s arm not sure if the boy would fall over from shock if he let go.

“Hey Julien, wow, I can’t believe you did that!” She laughed a little too cheerily.

“Yeah, well, I thought it would a good thing to do,” he said sliding his hand down Ron’s arm to his hand taking it and folding his fingers in-between Ron’s limp ones.

“Is this your boyfriend?” The girl said noticing the contact between the two boys.

“Huh? Yeah,” Julien said pulling the limp Ron out of the row of seats and dragging him away from the girl.

“Talk to you later!” The girl said turning to a group of giggling girls waiting a couple rows down from them.

They were stopped in the crowd at the back door to exit. Ron noticed his neighbor staring at him and he shivered. He knew the kid was a creep and apart of the reason why the teasing was so relentless. He tried to shrug it off as they exited through the door.

Julien sighed “I’m so glad we only have one class left.”

“Yeah,” Ron whispered, “Me too.”
“Ron babe, you’ll be fine I promise,” Julien sighed.

“ I hope so,” Ron thought to himself freighting a smile for his boyfriend as they departed in the crowd.

A.N. Thanks again for everyone who commented sorry it took so long to update. I'm just trying to piece it together as I go along so it makes sense. Dont be afraid to give some advice I'm not very good at this and my spelling seems to be horrible.
