Today, in the Bathhouse
Well, this is my story-poem. If you're wondering what that is, it’s a series of poems in place of chapters, which will tell the story. Reviews are greatly appreciated. A good review will get you a graceful geisha dance and lemon cookies, so please review.
Thanks to those that reviewed!! I really appreciated it. Please, everyone review more, so I know whether to continue with the story. *Sparkly kitten eyes*
Today, in the Bathhouse
Today I saw her
Sparkling in the morning dew
The delicate white flowers dulling
Comparing to this morning glory
To my love unadorned
Just her silken flesh,
Pale and as unmarked as unskimmed cream
I slowly poured the cask of magnolia scented water
Upon her rippling body as she tilted her head under the cascade
The downfall of water resembling my inner tears
As her dark eyes peeked flirtingly from under her veil of hair
Ebon tendrils covering the alabaster mounds of her breasts
Smiling unseeing at me
A habit born of always having greedy eyes upon her
She doesn’t even see me, only the money she shall gain tonight
Money which will bring her farther away from me
Today I can touch her
Lightly scrub her back
Washing away traces of smeared white paint from her slender neck
Which I long to caress,
Oh, why couldn’t I be that tiny brush, which lovingly strokes her?
Why can’t I be that yukata*, which she glides over her clean flesh?
As she walks out of the room, I whisper so softly
“I love you”
Only the crackling soap bubbles answers me
As the next geisha enters I blink away my silent tears
And setting into my next task, I smile and remember
That for a moment, one little thing treasured even more then an emperor’s kiss
Is that for a moment, just a minuscule moment
I could pretend she truly loved me and that it was I who smeared her make-up

*Yukata:: A light cotton kimono, usually wore after bathing and to summer festivals.
ME: Well… I hoped you liked it. I wasn’t totally satisfied with this chapter, but maybe you guys will like it better. I hope I got through her feelings about her hopeless love. Well, please review so I know to continue with this. Thanks!!!
