The following shadow

Chapter 3:

The winter holidays went by really quickly, tommorow i had to go back to that hell hole. (school). I hated school. Worst of all i hated my teacher, miss kim. I was dreading to go back to my gym class because i was stuck with a whole bunch of retards, like my dumb brother. And for that shadow, its still showing up. Last night i was in my bedroom, and i looked at my mirrior and it went through me again, except this time it felt way more stronger then before. I think everytime it comes it gets stronger. It doesn't scare me as much as it used to, im sorta used to it now. Well ill stop rambling now, and get back to my story.

"Are you ready to go back to school tommorow?" Asked Amber, sitting on the bench beside me.

"Nope, i don't want to go back, i HATE miss taylor man" I said, sighing.

"Yeah, join the club" Said Kory laughing.

"What the hell's so funny?" Asked his twin brother, Kody.

"Your face" He replyed laughing harder.

"You little asshole!" He said, getting up and chasing Kory around the park.

We all just sat there laughing.

"It's getting late" I said, looking at my watch "I better get home" I added in getting up.

"Alright, bye" Said Jacob getting up "love you" He added in hugging me.

"Love you too" I said, kissing him on the cheek.

As i did that, Kory stopped running and Kody ran into him.

"Ouch!" Shouted Kody.

We all just laughed again.

"Well im going home, see you all tommorow at school" I said.

"Bye" Said everyone.

As i was walking home, i seen that same black shadow run by under a street light. I followed it to see where it was going. I followed it down the street, then off onto a path going into a forest. I started running down the path. Finally i seen a cabin, and the shadow go inside. I followed it inside. I never been to this cabin before, i didn't even know it was here. I looked down at my watch again. It said 10:25 pm. As i looked up from it, there was a mirrior right infront of me. I looked into it and seen that shadow behind me, and once again, it went inside me. I felt really weird. My eyes went pitch black again. I felt like i was being controlled. Then, i heard something. It was like talking to me using our minds.

"Hello Brittney" It said. It sounded like a kid, around my age, and a male.

"W...why do you keep following me?" I asked it.

"I cannot answer that right now" It replyed.

"Why not? are you going to hurt me?"

"No, im not going to hurt you" It replyed.

"Then what do you want?" I asked it.

As i asked that, Jacob, Jensen and Amber came into the cabin. I looked at them and then back into the mirrior and my eyes were back to normal again, and it was gone.

"Are you alright?" Asked Jacob.

"Yeah, im alright" I said nodding and staring at the mirrior.

"We saw you go the wrong way to your house, so we followed you to make sure you were okay, and then you went in here, which we thought was really odd. So why did you come in here anyway?" Said Jensen.

"Uhh.. no reason, just exploring" I replyed, taking my eyes off the mirrior and looking at them.

"Ok, well come on, let us walk you home" Said Jacob, taking my hand.

We left the cabin and walked back up the path where i ran down. Then back up to my street.

"You sure your alright?" Asked Amber "You look like you seen a ghost or something" She added in.

"Yeah.. im fine.. just not feeling that good" I replyed.

I looked down at my watch. It was now 11:00 pm. 'oh shit, i better get home' I thought to myself. I ran the rest of the way home, being followed by my friends. When i finally got there, i said thank you to my friends and then went inside quietly. When i got inside, my mom was standing there with her arms crossed, glaring at me.

"Where were you?" She asked.

"I was just hanging with my friends, and i forgot tonight is a school night" I said quickly.

"Go get your shower then get to bed" She said, pointing upstairs.

"Yes mom" I said, going upstairs.

The next morning was brutal, last night i could barely get to sleep, i finally fell asleep around 4 am, and i had to get up at 6 am. I was tired.

"Wake up loser!" Said Noah, jumping on my bed.

"Get off, your going to break my bed!" I shouted "Your too fat" I added in.

I got up and went into the bathroom. I brushed my teeth and hair. I went back into my bedroom and Noah had left, thank god. I got dressed, and went downstairs for breakfast.

"Fuck off!" I heard Chloe yell at Noah once i got downstairs.

"Your so immature" I said, rolling my eyes at Noah.

"Shut up, rat" He said to me.

"Just shut up and leave Britt alone" Said Chloe, sticking up for me.

I smiled at Chloe, and she smiled back at me. Mom came downstairs.

"Kids, stop the fighting please, i cant take it" She said.

"Sorry mom" Said Chloe and I at the same time.

Mom looked over at Noah.

"Noah? an apology please" She said, glaring at him.

"Ok fine, im sorry!" He said, turning his head.

"Better" Said mom, putting bread into the toaster.

"Mom, can you drive us to school today?" I asked.

"Yes, but eat breakfast first" She said.

"Ok" I said getting bread out of the bag, and then putting it into the other side of the toaster.

When my toast had popped, i took it out and buttered it with peanut butter, and got a glass of milk.

"Come on kids, hurry up, your going to be late" Said mom, getting her car keys.

I took the last bite of my toast, and then another drink of my milk. I grabbed my bag and went ouside and got into the car. It was now 8:30 am. Finally Chloe Noah and Mom came out and got into the car.

"No getting suspended today!" Said mom, to all of us as we were pulling put of our driveway.

"Yes mom" I replyed, looking out the window.

"Did dad even call to say merry christmas to us mom?" Asked Chloe.

"No, he didn't, hes a jerk" Replyed mom, watching the road.

"I hate dad, hes an asshole" Said Noah, looking out the window.

"Don't we all" I replyed, still looking out the window.

When we finally got to the school, mom pulled up infront of it, we all got out.

"Thanks mom" I said, closing the door.

I walked up the stairs to my school, and then into the front doors. I went to my locker to get my books.

"Hey Britt" Said Amber, Hailey and Jensen at the same time.

"Hey guys" I replyed, opening up my locker.

"You look dead" Said Amber.

"Yeah, i didn't get that much sleep last night" I replyed "Wheres Jacob?" I added in, noticing he wasn't with them.

"Hes in the cafeteria" Said Amber.

"Oh, alright" I said closing back up my locker "Im going to go see him" I added in, walking the direction of the cafe.

When i got there, he was sitting with the twins, Mackenzie and Caleb.

"Hey Britt!" Said Jacob, getting up and running over to me. He hugged me.

"Hey" I said smiling.

Caleb came over to me.

"Hey, how was your christmas holiday?" He asked me.

"It was alright, what about yours?" I asked.

"Mine was ok" He replyed, sitting back down with the twins and Mackenzie.

*** Ringgg ringggg rinngggg **** Went the bell

It was time to go to class now.

"See you at lunch hun" Said Jacob, pecking a kiss on my cheek.

"Yeah" I said, walking towards my first class, which was gym.

When i got there, i opened up the door, and sat down on the bench. Amber came in and sat beside me, since she had the same class as me.

"Hey" I said to her.

"Hey" She replyed back, looking at the girls coming in "Oh joy" She added.

"Eww, what's that smell?" Asked Taylor as she looked over at me "Oh its just you" She added, her and her friends started laughing. I glared at them.

"Fuck off" Said Amber, also glaring at them.

"Shut up you cow" Said One of Taylor's friends, Becca.

But before Amber or i could say anything back, miss kim walked in.

"Settle down class" Came her Squeaky voice.

I flinch everytime i hear her voice. I can't stand it.

"Now were going to do situps" She said smiling at us all.

Oh, how much i hate her smile.

It was finally lunch time, and i was so glad to get that first class over with.

"Hey Jacob" I said, sitting down beside him in the cafe.

"Heyy, how was class today?" He asked me, looking over at me.

"Same old" I replyed back, taking a bite of my sandwich.

Just then Noah and his friends walked by.

"Hey twirp, ill have that" He said, taking my sandwich right out of my hand.

"Fuck you!" I shouted at him, as he walked off laughing and eating my sandwich.

"Grr.. i hate him!" Said Jacob, shaking his fists at him.

Just then, the twins, Amber, and Caleb all sat down at the table with us.

"What's wrong?" Asked Caleb.

"My brother took my sandwich" I replyed, laying my head down onto the table.

"Well i brought two, so you can have one of mine" Offered Kody.

"Thank you" I said, taking it because i was so hungry.

"Hes gotta stop bullying you like that" Said Amber, taking a bite of her muffin.

I just nodded and took a bite out of the sandwich.

"So, what are we doing today after school?" Asked Kory.

"Im going out with my parents to my aunt's birthday" Said Hailey.

"Im going home and studying for tommorow's big test" Said Amber.

"Im going home and going to be really bored" I replyed.

"What about you boys?" Asked Hailey.

"Were just chillen over at The twin's house" Said Caleb.

The bell rang, and lunch time was over, and i had science next. I walked into science class and sat down. Caleb came in and sat down beside me.

"Hey Britt" He said, looking over at me.

I just waved back at him.

About the middle of class, i started feeling sick. I put my hand up.

"Yes Brittney?" Asked mr roger.

"Can i use the washrooms? i don't feel good" I said.

"Sure Brittney, but don't be long" He said, pointing towards the door.

I got up and ran out of the classroom, and then down the hall. I finally got to the girls bathroom, and went inside and closed the stall door behind me. I was sick in the toilet. I felt really dizzy. I got out of the stall and went to wash my hands. I looked up from my hands into the mirrior. I saw the shadow behind me, then once again, it went inside of me.

"Why am i feeling like this?" I asked it "And why are you following me?" I added.

"You will see" It said, then i blacked out.

I woke up in the middle of a forest. I got up and rubbed my eyes. I walked down the path, it looked like the same path i was down before. Then i seen the same cabin. I walked up to it and looked in the window. I seen my dad and some woman inside.

"What? why are they in there?" I asked it.

"Just watch" It said, pointing towards the window.

I focused my eyes back onto the window. I then seen my dad kiss the woman.

"Is that my mom? or??" I asked, confused.

"That is the woman that your dad was cheating seeing when he was with your mother" It replyed.

I was shocked. I looked back at the window, and seen 2 kids come into the room. They both looked about 6 or 7. They were twins.

"This is why my parents split up?" I asked it "My mom found out?" i added in, shocked.

It just nodded at me.

"But keep watching" It said.

I kept watching. I then seen my mom come into the room and seen my dad and that other woman kissing. She looked furious. Then, out of nowhere my mom pulled out a gun and then shot both my dad, and the woman. The kids just watched horrified. Then my mom left. I woke up back on the school bathroom floor. I got up and looked around. I was in shock. 'Why would dad do that?' i thought to myself. I looked at the time, and there was about 5 more minutes left of last class, so i just got up and left. When i got home, there were cops all around the house.

"What happened?" I asked one of the police officers.

"Your mother is being arrested for murder of Mr Robert Hare and Miss Amy Parkingson" He said.

I just stared at him in shock.

"But.. w.. what happened?" I asked.

As i asked, i looked over and seen the 2 same kids that i had seen in my vision.

"They were shot" He said, walking away.

I walked over to the kids.

"Hi.." I said to them.

"Go away!" Said one of them.

"No, i want to ask you about what you saw" I said.

"Bang bang!" Shouted one of them.

I just ran. I ran down my street and then down more streets. I then banged on Amber's door.

"Let me in!" I shouted.

She opened the door, and i ran inside.

"What's wrong?" Asked Amber.

"M..my mom killed my dad and his new girlfriend!" I said "Shes going to jail!" I added in.

"Calm down, where is everyone?" Asked Amber.

"I Don...." And i couldn't finish, because i had passed out.
