The 6th. Witch

Upon night fall I waited just as Nickkta has asked of me, just outside the tavern where no eyes could sence me, the fact that I had a cloaking spell upon me doesn’t matter much I think, but non the less I was unseen to any eyes….just as promised Nickkta came strolling out of the tavern as I heard my brother yell to the bar wench for fetch him another pint for the 15th time, we snuck away to the very edge of the village where a beautiful yet somber lake rested, we sat under the stars and held each other for the longest time, giving the slightest of glances to each other and sweetest of kisses upon each others lips, it seemed that nothing could break up this most beautiful of night, when out of the corner of my eyes I saw movment in the tree’s that neared the water’s edge, I whispered to Nickkta that I had seen something, with a sniff of his nose he rose quickly knocking me to the floor, he drew his long blade sword out of the sheath that adorned his back and told me to step behind him, protecting me was his goal, I had readied a fire ball spell in my hands behind his back and waited for the intruder to strike…..

“You know warrior that if our brother Zane were to catch you with our sister that it would be the end for you do you not?”
“Tis true sir, yet I love this woman and am ready to face any and all of what my master had to throw at me.”
“Be warned young one that you do not know whom you deal with, sister Sethraie is a prized and well kept woman by our brother and does not take kindly to men trying to sweep her off her feet.”
“And what if I told you that it was I that had done the sweeping dear brother?”
“You know this man in black my love?”
“Sadly yes, for it is my brother Alkaly, a sad and evil wizard banished by his own family, never to come near any of us atall.”
“Well it seems to me that we keep on running into each other on the outskirts dear sister, now, warrior I am prepared to offer you a deal of secretcie, I will not say a word to our beloved brother if you will come and fight on my side along with your many animals to call.”
“Don’t be absurd brother, he would never come to your call, he would rather face a hundred wraths of my brother than to come and fight for a man of your stature.”
“Very well, then I will make you come to my side!”

Alkaly grabbed me and pulled me twords the lake, the fire ball I had conjuered was thrown to him and he quickly extinguished it in one blow, Nickkta drew his sword over head in attempt to strike Alkaly down….

“I wouldn’t do that warrior, one wrong move and you may strike your precious Sethraie, and we both don’t want that, join me and I will set her free.”
“I think not!”

A booming voice came from the tree’s, Zane stood might with his staff in hand ready to strike any that came twords him…

“Brother, I think it best for you to release our sister at this moment for face me instead, she may be a mere woman but her wrath with mine is not what you desire to be turned onto you.”
“And what will you do? Strike me down? Your own brother?”
“If that’s what it takes, Nickktalia, take my sister back to the towers, fetch technie on your way there and tell him that we have a situation to deal with.”
“Zane I am so…..”
“Not now sister of mine, we will discuss what I have seen later, right now I say go back to the tower with out a fuss and let me deal with this.”

Nickkta put his hand out to me and Alkaly let me to go to him, fearful of what could happen next I went to my lover and was escorted back to the tower……

Back at the tower I knew what was in store for me, Nickkta bid me fare well and I waited for my brother to get back, I paced the floor, not knowing what was wrong, not knowing what was going on my the lake, I knew then that I and Nickkta were busted that there was no way to escape what my brother had probably seen, me, the daughter of Merlin, laying with a warrior, that was not a thing to do being a lady of my stature but I didn’t care, I loved him and that was what mattered…..

I found the closest mirror and with a wave of my hand I could see anything that I wished to see, I focused all my energy on the lake and found that my brother’s were in battle, sparks and lightening decorating the sky, cries heard as Technie stood and fought all the my brother’s black mystic called out from the shadows, I saw my brother Zane throw a blast and knock Alkaly back, and watched as he scurried away into the darkness, his minions leaving with him…..all was well now, I cheaked on my sweet lover to see that he was sitting underneath a tree out in the forest, eye’s closed and mind open….

Like a whisper I told him that I loved him and that it would all be ok, that some how I would explain to my dear brother that no harm will come of us being together, that I wanted nothing more than to be right where he is and in his arms, and like that I snapped out of it, Zane was back and I was introuble…..

“Dear sister, what were you thinking? Being out there with one of my best warrior’s in the open, on the out skirts where you know that Alkaly could find you, Nickkta is my warrior, my animal to call and you go off and do what you know you shouldn’t with him, the whole time acting as if I didn’t know, how could you?”
“Dearest brother, I know that your upset, I know that we should never had snuck off, but would you have allowed it any other way? Let us go and do what we felt in our hearts were right? I know that the whole Alkaly thing was a bad deal and I didn’t intend for that to happen I promise, but please don’t be upset with me about it…I love him brother….”
“NO! no sister of mine will be with one of my warrior’s, have you gone insane? I will not allow this to happen…”
“How dare you tell me what will and wont happen, I love him, I have already had a man that I loved ripped away from me and now you intend to do it again, you are the one who is insane, after all that I had dealt with you still refuse to give me one moment of happiness….”
“Sethraie, I know that the loss of your dear Christos was sudden and brutal but you cant possibly be inlove with another so fast..”
“I see something in his eye’s that I cant explain, and for that I love him, I see the whole world in his soul, and for that I love him, I see the light and love that his aura gives off and for that…I love him…”

With a wave of his hand Nickkta appeared in front of him, shocked and a bit disoriented, Nickkta peered to me and then my brother, a questioning look on his face, but never a sign of fear….

“Yes sire, you called?”
“Tell me warrior, do you love my sister?”
“Yes sire.”
“How much do you love her? Enough to protect her and be with my army, enough to endure all of that my sister can show and repent? All of that which makes her who she is?”
“Yes sire.”

Anger filled my brothers face, the redness of the dark sky was no match for the light in his face, I knew with out him saying a word that he did not approve, it wasn’t going to end this way and I was going to make sure of that…

“Be gone the both of you, I don’t not feel this a good match, I do not feel that he can control all that is himself and you dear sister, I bid you two to leave and know that I do not approve of this arrangment..”
“But sire, I love her, I love your sister with all my heart and will forever and always protect and love her no matter what life time, she is mine and I am her’s, that is the way to be.”
“I SAID NO! now begone before I get really angry!!”

With tears in my eyes I fell to the floor, how could he be so cruel? He knew my loss of my Christos and now he forces me to have to face the loss of my new found lover,….

“You know not what you do brother of mine, you will regret what words you have said, know that one way or another, my lover and I will be together…”

With those words I and my lover vanished, a simple spell to take you where ever you wish, we were in the forest running hand in hand through the brush and tree’s, branches catching and snaring my dress but I didn’t care, my Nickkta, my wolfie, was by my side, we were running together as if it were our last day, that I couldn’t bear to think of, run away with me I willed him, lets go somewhere that we can be together despite my brothers words, we can build a life, a family together, live amongst the tree’s and woodland creature’s, with no worried but our own, a fresh brook just outside our cabble, together for ever and always my sweet, together for ever…..

We fell into a patch of clovers, laughing as we rolled around on the grass, gazzing up at the stars, holding each other so tight that it was almost so hard to breath, yes my love, together forever…..we made love there, under the stars, on a blanket of clovers, the whole universe spinning and shifting underneath us, a quiet and loving moment where nothing mattered but the other person, the tears of the gods soon fell upon us, I knew then that there was more to come of my lover and I, only time and time alone could tell…….

Just as the sun rose high above the tree’s I awoke, my sweet lover laying next to me in all his glory, I stood and raised my hands to the sky, the sun beating down upon me warming that which was cold, one last glance at my lover as I headed for the near by stream, a simple wave of my hand revealed to me what I needed to see….

“Dearest Nickktalia, awake, I have some news for you my love…”
“Yes my love I am awake, what is it that you so graciously wake me up at dawn to reveal?”
“I am with child, the river does not lie.”

With a jolt he came off the ground, grabbed me in his arms and swung me about with such force that all the tree’s seemed to be as one, holding me close I could feel the rise and fall of his chest, feel the tears falling down his cheek, the light that I saw coming from the eye’s of this man told me that it was the most precious thing in the world to hear those words from my mouth…

“But dearest what of your brother, he will not allow our match, even with child I do not think that he will allow it, what are we to do?”
“Do not worry of him my love, we will go to my father, he will make this all right and my dear brother will have no say other than to give his blessing’s to the baby and our marriage, as I said before to him, nothing will keep us from being as one….”
