Akito
I found Sonia’s book on my desk again. She was always leaving her stuff in my work areas. I pulled my long silver hair from my golden eyes. My sister always told me how beautiful I was and I liked to believe her, however, vanity was not the way for a demon prince to be. I took a casual glance at the paperback book.
I dropped it
What I saw scared me to no end. I saw a picture of my youngest brother, Acuo and a picture of me! I looked at the title. Chronicles of the Nightshade Clan, Book One. Nightshade, that was my clan. That was my name! Akito Nightshade! I tucked the book in the crook of my arm and headed towards Sonia’s room.
“Sonia!” I called out in an official tone as I cracked open the door to her chambers. She was in her bathtub, naked, unfortunately. Sonia was very much less than modest. She was holding her breasts and talking about her human lover, Ein. They had been keeping their relationship a secret for a couple million years now, ever since she had gotten him as a gift. Humans make very odd pets. He was supposed to be her slave but she fell in love with him and he returned her feelings. I don’t know too much about it.
It reminded me of how Acuo got banished. He had a human lover too, except Jade wasn’t one of our pets, she was from a demon hunting clan that called itself the Hunters. Well, a small war broke out because Acuo killed some demons from another clan. According to him they had raped Jade. Well, needless to say father was not happy about that and neither was any other demon clan. Father had no choice but to banish Acuo.
I have to admit though it even made me a small bit upset to see him go. But I would never show it. I hated my brother, or so I thought. Every time I remember that day I feel a bit upset. I remember that Sonia wouldn’t eat for days and she didn’t drink any blood for quite a while. Sonia is a very caring person and will do anything for those she cares about; she would even kill for us. That may not seem like much now but back in the day it was illegal for a female demon to kill. I haven’t admitted that to her since I was very young, and I don’t think I’ll ever say it to her again.
Well as I said, Sonia was touching her breasts and talking to herself about Ein and how she couldn’t live without him.
I called her name again and her pointed ears perked up a bit. She had long burgundy hair that went to mid back and blood red eyes to match. I had to admit, though not to her, that she was a beautiful woman. But she told herself and us that all the time. Sonia was a very vain woman.
She looked up at me and her eyes widened with glee.
“Akito!” she squealed with delight. “My dear sweet little brother, what brings you here to my chambers? Could it be that I’m too beautiful to stay away from?” she giggled to herself.
“Your stunningly beautiful” I said, my tongue coated in sarcasm. “Your book, dear sister. You seem to have left it on my desk” I stated drolly.
“Squee!” she said with a pesky perky tone. “So that’s where I left it!”
“Yes, and may I ask why does it have my picture on it as well as that of our banished pest of a sibling?” I was beginning to lose my patience. Ill bet she had put it there just to annoy me, or to play some kind of a joke. After all, how in all the hells could there be a book about me? With me on the cover? I hadn’t posed for a portrait in millenniums.
“Oh, that. Well that’s because it’s about Acuo and you” she smiled. She then tried to hug me; I quickly put my arms up in defense. I loved my sister but not when she was naked.
This had caught me off guard. I grabbed her well developed form tightly. “What do you mean about me?! Who wrote this book?!” I shouted to her face.
“Why don’t you look at the cover? Her name is Lilith Antane. And she is a human girl in the human world. Here is a picture of her” said Sonia as she flipped to the back of the book and showed me a picture of the author.
She appeared to be very young, around 15 or 16 in human years. She had big green eyes and very long brown hair. She had a wide smile on and looked rather plain.
She must be a seer. Eyes that shade of green means psychic for mortals. I thought to myself. And a very powerful one at that to see enough into mine and my brother’s lives to write a whole novel about us.
It creeped me out a little, this little girl probably knew a lot about other people too. Assassins would probably kill this girl soon, just to stop her from doing her life’s dream. Well, I had to stop that. I would be the one to kill this girl.
I let a small smirk come to my face.
“What are you going to do Akito?” asked Sonia with a worried look. I knew she could tell what I was thinking.
“I’m going to the human world for a bit”
“Brother” she pleaded “Please don’t kill the human girl. She is one of my favorite authors”
“Goodbye Sonia. I\'ll be back in a few weeks. Take care of my work for me” with that I concentrated my energy and created a portal to the human world. I only created a small one that closed up right behind me so I couldn’t see my sister say farewell to me. I had to make a small one. Making portals requires a great deal of power and life force. Any living creation can make a portal but only if there is enough life force.
I landed on the other side. I was in the back ally between two very tall buildings. I shivered. Damn this cold! I’m used to the heat of the Fire Realm, not this human world cold! Well, I would have to get used to this for a bit. I was in the human world now and had to get some new clothes to blend in and keep somewhat warm. I transformed into a human disguise. I had the same long hair, except now it was black, and my fangs and claws were gone. And my ears were rounded now so everything sounded a lot duller. I kept my eyes gold. My pride wouldn’t let me look completely like one of these dirty creatures.
Humans were considered lower that dirt not only because they were food and were weak, but also because they were one of the only types of creatures that could and would mate with anything. Filthy beings. I, like most of my race, hated humans. This girl would be no exception.
I left the ally with one thing on my mind, Lilith Antane; I will get rid of you so you will never write about my life again.
