3. Life

Soleil is my master's name.

He refused to be called angel, lord, prince, brother, father, etc, so I yelled, "Then, what should I call you? I may be dumb, but I still have respect. I refuse to call my savior only by the name, it's inappropriate. You called me your child, so I will call you Master or mother."
He looked surprised of my opposing his talking like that. His blue eyes were big and unblinking as they looked at me. "...I never thought that you're a stubborn child, Abel".

"Well, now you know. It's your choice, MOMMY".

That's how he was stuck as my master.

For the next 4 years, I live in this dream house. The house is 3 storeys high, victorian style, with a beautiful large rose garden in the backyard. There are maybe, 30 rooms in this house. I had no difficulty in adjusting my time to his time. Most of the time, he and I do houseworks. Yeah, those typical houseworks, like cleaning, decorating, gardening (it is still hard for me to do it in the night even though we brought a mass of lanterns). It took a large amount of time to keep this large house clean. Every 2 days, some people from the town will come to deliver our needs.

You may ask, so where's the vampire thingie? It was heard that vampires are evil creatures, living alone in a dark haunted castle in the top of a hill filled with nasty beasts, sleeping in a black coffin, going to the town to kidnap their preys, sucked them dry and threw the bodies to the wolves to eat.

My master is none of the descriptions. That is why I'm never be afraid being near him. He never bites me, although I don't mind if he does. In fact, I thought that he lied to me about his being a vampire, I never see his fangs or see him biting someone. So I once asked: "Master, are you really a vampire?". He just raised his head from the book he read, smiled softly, and said, "If you believe there are angels, why won't you believe there are vampires as well?"

You see, it's hard to believe, with his angelic countenance, he doesn't look a least bit evil. In fact, as I'm getting closer to him to be able to see his many expressions, I found out that his eyes always looked sad. Ecspecially when I found him sitting alone in his room, looking solemny at the fireplace with such lonely and hurtful look. He looked like an angel who was banned from the heaven, and this made my heart clenched. Whatever ever happen in his past that caused him to have these sad eyes? But, I am not going to ask him. I rather kill myself than bringing up a topic that I know would hurt him right up at his face and causing him more sadness. I believe everybody has his own dark past.
The past doesn't mean anything once you survive it. The past won't affect the reason of loving or being loved by someone, because originally, you don't even need a reason to love someone.

That's what I thought, until the devil came to take my angel away from me, and I'm still not strong enough to prevent it.
