first day pt. 1

I reluctantly got out of bed and dressed myself, after going through my whole closet. I went through my normal morning routine, brushing my teeth, doing my hair, and eating breakfast, while Josh would sleep in until 5 minutes before the bus arrived in which he would change.
The buses arrived and we both went off to school. I was nervous and sat away from as many people as possible, hoping to disappear. This never was that easy. Some perv sat next top me and started rattling off about how cute I was and how we should date. Yeah right. Like that was ever going to happen. And it wasn't.
When that guy finally went away, I was already at school and the bell had just rung. I went to the office and turned in my transcripts. The secretary looked at me and with a sweet smile she said, "Uhm... sweetie, what grade are you in?"
"Eighth"
"Well, can you wait here a while. I have to talk to Dr. Ryan."
Dr. Ryan turned out to be the principal and when she returned with surprising news.
"Miss Carter?", Dr. Ryan said.
"Yeah, that's me."
"Hi! I’m Dr. Ryan, the principal of Rock Creek Junior High School. It’s nice to meet you, but we have a little dilemma. You see, the problem is that you have almost all the classes you need to graduate high school, and those classes aren't offered here. I personally think that it is a waste of your time and our tax payers money that you stay in junior high, eighth grade."
I was puzzled because I didn't know I had that many classes completed and either way, I wanted to stay in junior high.
Dr. Ryan continued," I think that you should skip ahead to the twelfth grade. I know that will be a shock but the only class that you really have to take is half a year of gym and you can graduate any school in this county with honors. You are way ahead of all the students in your grade and all the seniors in high school too. If it's ok, I'd like to call your parents so that we can arrange for you to jump ahead in your learning career."
I was stunned and couldn't say a word. The principal took that as a yes and gave me a note to give to my parents. For the rest of the day, I was allowed to stay in the library just reading.
