~ Later that Day ~

I was finally free of that imposing building for the rest of today at least. Outside it was sunny and after putting my portfolio in the borrowed car, I wandered into the nearest park, hoping to catch a nap on a grassy verge.

“Hey Alenjandro!” Damn, there goes my chance at a nap.

“Yeah?” I turned to find Wulfric behind me. He was smiling and his jacket and tie was gone, his shirtsleeves rolled up above his elbows. He looked very relaxed.

“Wanna come to lunch with me? I know a place that’s outdoors.” He looked so eager that I couldn’t say no. I hate that look.

“Yeah, ok.” Wish that I could have had my nap instead, but hey, food is good too right?

“We can walk. It’s not too far from the other side of the park and the weather is so good.” I nodded and let him lead the way to this restaurant of his.

When I was finally led to the restaurant in question, it seemed rather too posh.

“Señor? I don’t think I’ll be welcome.” I stopped walking. That gave me a nice view of tailor made trousers clinging to a well muscled behind.

“Alenjandro? Surely you’re not worried about eating here?” He looked so cutely confused.

“Señor, perhaps you should consider the difference in attire between you and I.” I tried to gesture subtly to my own clothes, old painting jeans and an overtly large green sweater. I mainly wore the sweater when I was nervous.

“Ah… you are slightly underdressed. Perhaps we should go elsewhere?” Wulfric looked childishly disappointed.

“Come with me Señor. I’ll make us lunch.” I led him down the street to where my flat resided. Once inside the foyer I took him up the three flights to my apartment.

“Are you sure Alenjandro?” Wulfric sounded unsure. I simply held the flat door open to him. Once inside, I toed off my shoes out of habit and stepped into my indoor shoes.

“What would you like señor?” I walked into the kitchen, hearing him trail me.

“Something simple would be a nice change.” I smiled at that, pleased that he trusted me to make him something edible.

My pantry was surprisingly full for the end of the week. Every fortnight I went shopping but just before that, I was often running on rations. Luckily though, for once the pantry was filled with edible food.

“Anything you don’t eat?” I had to be sure before I started cooking.

“Nah. Cast iron stomach.” I gave a small laugh and I mentally reviewed the old recipe in my mind.

“You like Chilli? It’s quickest.” I turned away from the pantry to spot him perched on one of my black and silver stools leaning against the counter that, surprisingly, had a black and silver painted wooden bench top. The paint had been cheaper in bulk, so most of my flat was painted in the two colours.

“Yes. I haven’t had any in a long time.”

“Mi abuela taught me the family recipe along with her sobrinas. I spent lots of time in abuela’s kitchen.” As I spoke, I retrieved the ingredients from the pantry.

“So that’s where your name comes from?”

“Si, mi abuela taught me Spanish and how to cook Mexican food. My name is mi abuelo’s name as well.” Cooking the chilli didn’t take more than twenty minutes. I slid a bowl and utensils to Wulfric and grabbed a stool so that I could sit opposite him.

“Enjoy.” I smiled at him before letting him guide the small talk that ran for the span of the meal.

Alenjandro was a very good cook. Watching him move around his kitchen was almost poetic. Looking back I feel rather stupid for trying to take him to that fancy restaurant. I’m very grateful that he wasn’t insulted by it.

“Thank you for lunch. It was wonderful!” I smiled indulgently when a blush stained his cheeks. He was so cute!

“Ah, it was nothing señor.” He tried to wave it off. I let that slip and stood, taking a peek at the clock mounted on the wall.

“I must hurry off. I’ll be in contact with you.” I couldn’t believe how late it had gotten. I had a scarce five minutes to get back to my office.

“I’ll see you to the door then.” Standing in the doorway, I took a chance and stole a kiss from Alenjandro before slipping down the staircase. His shocked eyes imprinted on my memory.

Back at Truce Tairs, Great Aunt Dragon Lady was still chewing on her greens at her desk. I gave a vague smile and hurried down the corridor to my office. She can be seriously scary when she wants to be.

He kissed me.

I don’t know how long I stood there, my left thumb resting against my lower lip that still tingled and tasted like him.

“Logically then, he’s attracted to guys, more specifically me.” I laughed at that and closed the door before hugging myself tightly. I looked at the clock and dashed out to fetch the car I borrowed from a friend from the car park near Truce Tairs.

Once I was back inside my apartment, I sank down into my black leather couch to browse the paper work that Nani had given me. There on the third page was Wulfric’s phone number.

“Hello, this is Wulfric Chase’s office, Nani speaking.”

“Hello señorita, is Señor Chase available to speak with me?”

“I’ll put you right through Alenjandro. He’s free for the next hour, so no need to hurry ok?”

“Thank you señorita.” As the call was transferred, I shifted nervously on the couch.

“Hello?”

“Hello señor. This is Alenjandro.”

“Hello Alenjandro. Is something the matter?”

“No, no señor. I was wondering if perhaps you are free this evening? There is a club close by called Shadow Eden.” I tried not to sound overtly eager. The only bonus about doing this over the phone was the fact that he couldn’t see how nervous I was.

“Are you asking me on a date Alenjandro?” I winced at the teasing sound of his voice.

“Señor, yes indeed I am. Will you come?” After that I winced again at the bad pun. His soft chuckle made sure that I knew he didn’t miss it either.

“I’ll come. What time?”

“Say eight at the bar?”

“How will I recognise you?”

“I’ll find you.” I smiled at that before mentally reviewing my wardrobe’s contents.

“Ok, eight at the bar of Shadow Eden. I can’t wait.”

“Goodbye señor Chase.”

“Goodbye Alenjandro.” I smiled as I set the phone down before hugging the nearest cushion tightly to my chest in joy.

“Ah shit! What to wear?” I dashed off the couch into my bedroom, the cushion falling forgotten to the floor behind me in my rush.

Once in my bedroom, the wardrobe doors were flung open and I surveyed the clothes critically. I had to shock Wulfric and stand out tonight.

It was at that point that my short skirt caught my eye.

Perfect.

By the time six thirty had rolled around, I was stepping out of the shower, legs and armpits shaved and silky smooth. The rest of me was hairless, which would have disappointed me had I been a more manly man.

I sauntered into my bedroom and slid a pair of lacy briefs up my legs onto my naked body before sinking down to perch on the edge of my silver traced black comforter to roll black, lacy, gartered, fishnet thigh high stay ups up my legs. Over the top of the stay ups I laced up knee high silver boots. That done I stood to step into a tiny jade, plaid, box pleated skirt that ended several inches above my stay ups.

I then lifted a silver mesh top off the bed and laced myself into it. It cut from my left shoulder to just below my right pec, and that was just the neckline. The tricky part was the second sleeve, the right one, started nearly at my elbow. The bottom of the top started just above naval level on the left and rose so that there was less than an inch of material on the right side of my torso. The left sleeve was slit and tied in place with ribbon at my shoulder and elbow. From the elbow down it turned into lace and frothed into a very wide enclosed sleeve. The right sleeve was the same from the elbow down. Only difference was that it started just above my elbow instead of at my shoulder. Not that I minded mind you.

The only problem with the top was that is exposed everything. Everything included that wonderful tattoo that I had had done a few years ago. I was kinda stupid at the time and kinda drunk too. Of all the stupid things I had chosen to do, it had to be getting a tattoo that ran all the way around me.

It stayed mainly below my naval and raised up high in the small of my back. It was a series of thick black lines that created a semi circle around my naval at the silver charm hanging from it. They had sharp points that met in a point that sent the gaze up my spine. It also had a lower line that dipped in a shallow curve downwards from hipbone to hipbone. It arched over my hipbones then went into a shallow ‘v’ that just disappeared under my skirt. Between those two lines was a series of Celtic knots interlinked around my hips.

Only thing left to do was hair and makeup. Leaving my hair out was out of the question, way too long for that. I let it down from its towel and winced at the cold wet feeling. I walked into the bathroom, holding my hair gingerly away from my back. Once in the bathroom, brush in hand, I sank down onto the rim of the bathtub and dropped my head forward so my hair hung, brushing the tiles. Once it was knot free I pulled it up into a high ponytail with the front bits hanging with a gentle wave around my chin. I pulled the ponytail out and started several small braids. I braided back to where the high ponytail would sit. I tied it back into the high pony and then selected small clumps to plait. I chose jade bands to attach to the ends of the plaits before putting a black and silver ribbon around the high ponytail.

“I feel pretty, oh so pretty.” I did a small dance around the bathroom, laughing happily. I settled back onto the bathtub rim and pulled out my makeup collection. Black eyeliner, nice and thick, silver mascara and a dark green glittery eye shadow. All that was left was lipstick. I’m rather pedantic about lipstick. It had to be Perfect.

First I lined my upper lip in black and my lower with silver. I proceeded to paint the top lip silver and the lower black, being very careful not to cover the liner already in place.

Perfect.

I sighed and scooped up my keys and contemplated where exactly I could put them. There was a tiny pocket in the skirt, but that would hold my money. Maybe I could tie a key to a ribbon around my waist as a belt. I hunted around for a ribbon, retreating from the bathroom into my bedroom and into the wardrobe. I found a silver and black wide ribbon. I laughed as I knotted keys on it at intervals before tying it around my hips. I smirked at my genius before tucking my money for the night into the tiny skirt pocket and zipping it shut.
