On The Road
Chapter Three--On the Road
As I drove away from the motel all I could think about was Jake then I realized I had to call Jacy and let her know I was going to be late, as in an hour and a half late. I pulled my purse over on the seat next to me and I pulled out my cell phone. I dialled Jacy’s number and put her on speakerphone so I could drive and talk at the same time.
“Hullo?” A sleepy voice answered.
“Hey its Allysa, listen I am calling to let you know that I am going to be a bit late for the rehearsal dinner. I got stranded in Kindersley last night.”
“Well what a coincidence. Damon’s brother just called and said he was going to be late too and he said the same thing.” Jacy said to me. I could hear a smile in her voice now.
“What’s his name because I just had a glorious night with a passionate lover and all I know is his first name?”
“Well he is Jackson Wade McDermott the Third. The multi-conglomerate billionaire and he is putting up the entire wedding party at his home in Banff for the week following the wedding, well everyone but me and Damon.” She said.
“Oh, ok. But I should let you go so that I can keep driving and you can get prettied up for your man. I will see you at about fourish. Love ya.” I said as I hung up on her. I didn’t want to answer any questions from oh so loving sister about my wild night, because as far as she’s concerned I don’t do the one-night standers. Well I guess she’s in for a shock.
I drove straight through to Calgary not once stopping for a bathroom break or anything so I actually got there ahead of schedule. I drove to Jacy's place not far from the hotel I would be staying in and rang the doorbell.
The door opened and there was Damon already there and he pulled me into a huge bear hug.
"Hey Jacy! Allysa's here you might want to stop primping for me now." He called back into the house. Jacy came running to the door.
"Hiya Sis. You ready to go for rehearsal?"
“Yup, just let me grab my dress so it doesn’t get wrinkled and I will meet you guys at the restaurant. We are still going to Moose Maguires right?” I asked walking to the front closet to grab my dress.
“Yup. Jackson’s already there so he’s got a table for the four of us.” She replied.
