Chapter 2
Chris\' fear and Matt\'s confession
Author Note:
This chapter is nothing but fluff, but there are very important key points in this chapter that will help you to understand the story in the later chapters. Don\'t worry everyone, I will put up the R rated chapter next…and it\'s a lemon! I will post it sometime this weekend, next week at the latest. Eyes slowly opened, and a white ceiling started to come into focus. Chris shot up in the bed he was in and quickly glanced around him. As he took in his surroundings he recognized where he was immediately. He screamed…loudly.
Matt woke up with a start as he heard someone start screaming in the hospital and ran when he noticed that Chris was the one screaming. He burst into Chris\' room and quickly wrapped his arms around him, pulling Chris tightly into his chest.
\"Calm down baby,\" Matt said quietly, petting Chris\' hair. \"I\'m here now…It\'s going to be okay.\"
Chris stopped screaming and began crying. Horrible memories of his countless surgeries where filling his mind and he buried his face into Matt\'s chest. Matt looked down at his little lover and smiled. \"I know how much you hate it here gorgeous…\" Matt said gently. \"But I couldn\'t do anything to help you so I had to take you here. I\'m so sorry baby. But at least this time around you have me to protect you from the evil doctors.\" Matt lifted Chris\' chin and smiled. He leaned down to place a delicate kiss on Chris\' lips. \"I love you Chris,\" he whispered gently.
Chris looked into Matt\'s eyes and smiled at him. He was right of course. Chris had gone through those fifteen years of hospitals alone, without even his mother for support. That\'s why he hated her so. She put him through all those years of torture and never even stayed to help him. But Matt was different, because he was there. Chris lifted his arms to wrap them around his lover but hissed in pain when the IV hooked into his arm was pulled. Matt jumped at Chris\' pain and quickly laid him back down on the bed. \"I don\'t want to be here…\" Chris whispered to his lover. \"I hate it Matt.\"
Matt sighed and petted the top of Chris\' head. \"I know baby,\" he whispered. \"But it is all we can do right now. You passed out in the parking garage and no one could revive you. This was the only place we could go.\" He pulled a chair over to the bed and sat down next to his love, holding his hand tightly. Matt had vowed the day he mated to Chris that he would never let anything bad happen if he could prevent it. He wanted Chris\' life to be perfect after everything he had been through. But Matt soon realized that he had to tell Chris the truth about what he really was…he had to tell Chris about being a demon.
Chris looked over at his love and got a worried expression when it seemed as though Matt had zoned out. \"Are you okay baby?\" Chris asked gently. Matt snapped back to reality and smiled at Chris, nodding his head. Chris sighed in relief and squeezed Matt\'s hand. \"I love you more than anything in this world Matthew Tannin. I\'m so glad that I met you…one year ago today actually.\" Matt\'s eyes went wide.
\"Christopher Kobal you are a sneak. Why didn\'t you remind me that it was our anniversary soon? You know I have trouble with dates.\" It was true. A demon always tends to have trouble with dates when he has lived over 1200 years and no longer has a need to remember them.
Chris giggled and smiled over at Matt. \"What were you thinking about earlier then?\" he asked quietly.
Matt tensed. He had to tell Chris now or he might never get another chance, but Matt was scared. \"C-Chris baby,\" he started, stuttering a little. \"There is something I really need to tell you and it is really important.\" Chris looked really worried. Matt needing to talk was never something good. Matt noticed his worry and cupped Chris\' cheek. \"Don\'t worry baby, it\'s not another person in my life and I\'m not leaving you. This is just something that might make *you* leave *me*…\" Chris just stared at him. Matt gulped and took a deep breath. \"Chris baby, this is something that I have been hiding from the rest of the world as well. Chris…I\'m not human. I\'m what your kind calls………a *demon*.\" Chris started laughing.
\"You are so weird Matt,\" Chris said between laughs.
Matt gave a stern, serious look to Chris. \"I\'m not joking.\"
Chris stopped laughing. \"Matt baby, are you serious? You really think you are a demon?\"
Matt sighed. \"Chris I don\'t think I am a demon. I am one, and I can prove it.\" He stood up and locked the door to the room, then walked over the curtains and closed them. He looked at Chris. \"Please baby, promise me you won\'t scream, yell, pass out, cry, or get upset in any way.\"
Chris stared at Matt and reached for him. \"Baby, I love you. I don\'t care what you think you are or why you didn\'t want to tell me.\"
Matt shook his head. \"Promise me.\"
\"Alright, I promise.\"
\"Okay.\" Matt took off his shirt and closed his eyes. A bright red aura surrounded Matt and the air in the room grew dry and heavy. Two large bulges began poking under Matt\'s back and suddenly wings burst out, spreading across the room. Chris looked on in awe as some of Matt\'s skin turned to black scales, his nails to sharp claws, and his in his eyes the irises narrowed and the color turned blood red. Two thin, long horns wrapped around his forehead like a band and his teeth grew into long, sharp fangs.
Chris reached his hand out and clasped Matt\'s clawed hand. He looked at Matt and smiled warmly. \"I told you,\" he whispered. \"I love you no matter what. This is no exception.\" He motioned with his other hand for Matt to lean down. When Matt was within range he pulled his head down and kissed him gently. \"I love you Matt.\"
Matt looked at Chris and his heart swelled. Chris loved him even though he wasn\'t human, even though he was considered a monster by all of humanity, Matt had never been happier. However that happiness was short lived as Matt noticed something very strange about Chris\' eyes, something he had never seen before. A small pentagram, not even visible to the human eye, was in both his irises. Chris wasn\'t human either. Matt stood quickly and glared at Chris. \"What\'s your secret Chris?\" he demanded.
Chris was shocked at Matt\'s sudden anger. \"What are you talking about?\" Chris asked, fear evident in his shacking voice.
Matt grew angrier. \"You aren\'t human either Chris!\" Matt shouted. \"Now why didn\'t you tell me after I told you?\"
\"What are you talking about Matt?! I am too human!\"
\"No you aren\'t! It says so in your eyes! You have the pentagram…you are a demon just like me Chris.\"
Chris shook his head. \"No, I can\'t be…\"
Matt looked at Chris and noticed how scared he was. \"I\'m sorry baby,\" he whispered, sitting in the chair again. \"I didn\'t mean to get so angry. But you are a demon. It\'s literally in your eyes.\"
Chris reached for Matt\'s hand and kissed his knuckles. He was scared and Matt was the only one who could make him feel better, even if he was the one who scared him. He grabbed Matt and used him to pull himself into Matt\'s lap and arms. \"Please just hold me for a while Matt…\" he whispered softly. Matt wrapped his arms tightly around Chris, and noticed that the IV had ripped out of his arm. He lifted Chris\' arm to his lips and kissed the cut in his skin, it healed before Chris even noticed.
\"Are you okay now baby?\" Matt asked calmly, trying not to frighten Chris anymore than he already had. Chris nodded into his chest. Matt smiled. \"Then let\'s get out of here.\" He stood and set Chris down in the chair, transforming back into his human form. When he was satisfied that he wouldn\'t frighten anyone he picked Chris up, grabbed his clothes, and walked out the door and down the hall. As a nurse tried to stop him he glared at her and she backed away. He was going to get his mate home and if anyone tried to stop him they would have a one-way ticket to hell.

Oh damn Matt is possessive. Next chapter I will let you know what happens on their way home, however it will be in flashback mode so that I can hurry up and get to the lemon. It will be the first one that I have posted. I have written quite a few, but I never had a good enough story to post it. However I would like to ask for those who review to answer a question if you could.
